?? New Info on Bluetooth Patch for Blue Angel?? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

I've seen the first patch here http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=12908, but does anyone have Info on the announced second patch that should address the Headset Issue :?:

I am also eagerly waiting... it's really bad with my headset... I can have more than 3-4 feet distance between the devices... let's hope this is fixed soon.
Treo

I am now on my third XDA2s, and my BT headset works fine, As long as you hold the phone 2 inches from the earpiece thats stuck in my ear........ So i am also waiting for a proper solution
I did speak with O2 here in the UK, i explained i also have a PDA2K that has the same problems, but Imate have a patch ( dose not fix the headset tho) but as expected o2 Uk did not have a clue...

I look imate site every 3-4 hours... (risking my job...) waiting for the patch... Club imate support don't have any idea about release date
They don't know even if will be a patch or a new rom.... argh!!!!

Fixed it,pls see follows!

Bluetooth patch from club-imate! finally is here! AGAIN!!!!!

As some of you may have found out i-mate launched its FINAL bluetooth patch yesterday only to withdraw it this morning.
Well this afternoon (my time GMT+3) they launched it again. Knowing that quite a few of you folks are NOT members of clubimate and would like to get the patch, I've downloaded them (as there are five flavors of them depending on your which ROM you are using; WWE, FRA, PTB, ITA and SPA)
Device Support - Bluetooth Patch # 2 for i-mate™ PDA2k
i-mate™ is aware of the problems being experienced with the i-mate™ PDA2k Bluetooth. This is the second patch which will improve the bonding between the i-mate™ PDA2k and other devices. With this patch the bonding between the i-mate™ PDA2k and Bluetooth headsets will be more robust, after the PDA2k has entered Power Save (Sleep) Mode. Customers have previously observed that:
- when the i-mate™ PDA2k enters Sleep Mode for a period of time, any in-coming voice call alert is not relayed via the Bluetooth link to the Bluetooth headset, so no audible alert is heard.
- when the i-mate™ PDA2k is bonded to a Bluetooth headset and has entered Sleep Mode, the device will periodically wake-up while in an idle state, without prompting by the customer, leading to unnecessary power drain of the battery.
The patch does not correct the beaming problem between devices using the Brodcomm Bluetooth stack, like the i-mate™ PDA2k, and devices using the Microsoft Bluetooth stack. We are still working on a resolution to this issue. Some Jabra BT250 headsets will also still have audio quality issues and we recommend contacting Jabra for a solution.
The correct patch to install on your device can be determined by tapping Start > Settings > System > Device Information and checking the ROM version suffix, eg x.yy.zzz WWE.
Click here to select the patch appropriate for English devices and Arabic devices and download "OEM_WWE_122_008.sa.CAB" this file is approximately 3.8 Mb in size. Once the cab file installs please soft reset the device to complete the installation.
Click here to select the patch appropriate for the ITA language on your device and download "OEM_ITA_122_011.sa.CAB" this file is approximately 4.0 Mb in size. Once the cab file installs please soft reset the device to complete the installation.
Click here to select the patch appropriate for the PTB language on your device and download "OEM_PTB_122_014.sa.CAB" this file is approximately 4.0 Mb in size. Once the cab file installs please soft reset the device to complete the installation.
Click here to select the patch appropriate for the ESN language on your device and download "OEM_SPA_122_012.sa.CAB" this file is approximately 4.0 Mb in size. Once the cab file installs please soft reset the device to complete the installation.
Click here to select the patch appropriate for the FRE language on your device and download "OEM_FRA_122_009.sa.CAB" this file is approximately 4.0 Mb in size. Once the cab file installs please soft reset the device to complete the installation.

Bluetooth version on the PDA2K
hey
downloaded the lastest version of the bluetooth patch from i-mate guess what.
The first update they did they upgraded the stac from build 2500 to buid 3500.
Now with the new version they have gone back to version build 3000.
Now he is the problem bluetooth driver still insufficient drivers with both of the stacks.
With stack 3500 when I connect to my Parrot 3300 bluetooth in the car it works fine I even get the network signal saying ok.
Now when I upgraded to the new vesrion which is build 3000 when I connect to the Parrot bluetooth car kit the network signal is not shown anymore so what the hell is I-mate do can they just release the new version or not.
My brother has a Qtek 9090 his upgraded to the new rom he get the license has expired on the Italian version what a joke.
Hows fault is this CD or Broadcom the makers of the bluetooth drivers.
I would like to known so I can pester the right people.
Thanks
Gigino

Just after the setup, I had exactly the issues on my QTEK9090. Go in the parameters -> Today and change the theme. After this, you shouldn't have any more screen problem. After a short test, it seems the Bluetooth problems with my Jabra 200 fixed! Good luck
thanks...
Thanks, A320!
MDA III Warning
Just installed the Bluetooth patch on my MDA III and was presented with a completely black screen after Soft Reset. The only way around this was to Hard Reset. Yet to test the performance of the patch, but thought I would pass on the warning.
Had same problem on MDAII (black screen after reset - hard reset to cure) so am using previous patch
hi all
please i wanna help .. im in deep trouble whan i was tryin to upgread my PDA2K the screen become black and word Serial v2.06 or USB v2.06 is in the screen... i tried to hard rest but there was no response.. the screen now is empty and i dont have any information to back it again!!! please any 1 here can help me
but where they on clubimate :?:
there only last ROM. Has not understood humour.
Could someone upload these patches to our xda-developers ftp server under the blueangel directory. There should be a bluetooth patches directory somewhere there......
Thanks
All you should need to do is remove it from the cradle, then put it back in the cradle and restart the upgrade again. It should start to run again.
If that doesn't work, there are a couple of other things you can try.

Can somebody confirm that it works for XDA IIs please? cheers
Resurrecting DEAD threads from December 2004 will only serve to confuse the unwary! If you NEED this patch, go to the iMate website, register your phone and download it. *sigh* FYI: The patch has been incorporated into the WM2003 ROMs released since.
Tuatara ,
Is this patch incoorperated in Helmi WM5 Rom ? If not, any effect if i install this patch into BA Helmi WM5 ?
Thanks!

M2000- PLEASE HELP!!!

I have just received an M2000 and I have the following problems:
Bluetooth doesnt work at all (I tried using the "Final BT Patch from i-mate" and it didnt do anything).
Cant seem to find a version of the extended rom for this phone.
Its still unlocked.
It only has radio version 1.04.00
Can anyone help. This is so frustrating!
I also have the same phone and nearly exactly the same problems- especially the bluetooth. Are there any solutions yet?
If you haven't had it for more than 14 working days, (or 7 days if its an upgrade), ring Orange up and send it back for a replacement, you will get another brand new phone with another 14 working days (or 7 day) trial with it.
I've had 3, first one had a loose keyboard, 2nd one the phone part wouldn't work at all, the one i have now is truly magnificent don't give up on such a fine piece of telecommunications equipment.

O2 Asia release 'Official' Bluetooth patch for XDAIIs ..

From http://www.seeo2.com/support/XdaIIs/template/ServiceMenu.vm
As it's only available for O2 Asia customers then I cannot see the files / nor get at it ...
Can anyone oblige / test ?
Cheers

Prelimanary test are good. I'm guessing the patch is exactly the same as the one posted for the Pda2k from Imate, it is build 3500. SO far no issue with my sony hbh-660 headset and no issues yet with my TomTom Navigator USA bluetooth either. So for now, I am very pleased with the results, but I am going to give it one full day, especially with the headset before I can completely be satisifed. Adios.

Extraction
Anyway to extract the files from this setup?
Good question. I know it's a setup.exe pretty much that kicks off the install process via active synch, then seems to place the temp files in Flash memory, thus requiring the soft reset. Not sure there is a way to capture the files being written to temp space, but I am sure there is someone on this forum that can do it
If you run the installation without connecting your XDA, you will find the cab file in:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\Bluetooth headset upgrade patch for Xda IIs
Interesting that with the first imate posted bt patch the 3500 version which was withdrawn, one file showed build 3000 all others 3500. this O2 patch makes all file versions 3500 so is a final release and later than the imate patch.
Imate say they have a new final patch coming soon which will prob be the same as o2, since these all come from htc.
Patch seems good so far.
3500 Patch seems to be good
Downloaded the 3500 patch yesterday and installed in my i-mate PDA2k, certainly seems to have fixed the main BT headset problems (Sony Ericsson HBH-20). Thanks to those who take the time to post these things. A good Christmas present.
not so good. again scrasheesssss into the headset.
Waiting for another patch
hey this is the same old patch that was released by QTEK 3 weeks ago so whats new in it. I have checked both the patches they are both the same, not even a single file differs. But as always O2 is the last to deliver patches. It is very slow in providing updates, all other operators have provided new rom updates butO2 is still waitng dont now for what.
THE LAST TO DELIVER PATCHES????
Imate didn't release this patch for almost 4 days after O2 and before they had a 3000 build release. Tell the Tmobile MDA people, Siemens SX66 and all the CDMA versions of the phone with crippled bluetooth who have had no "official" update.
Great that Qtech first and early but O2 were second when all the rest are still waiting.
ONLY qtech has released a full upgrade rom. No others have.
Of course the patch will be the same, its not the operator like Qtech or Imate that makes these things, its HTC.
Patch Not Working in SX66
I dl'ed the patch into my SX66, and was hoping - no PRAYING - that it would help the BT issues..
My Jabra 250 sounds just the same..damnit!! (grin!)
Any other ideas, folks?
BTW, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Well, needless to sat after further testing of the O2 xdaiis patch, I am still having issues with my Sony headset. I am connected for 4 hours and then all of the sudden the pairing just drops and I have to reconnect the headset which is very frustrating, so it sems this latest patch has some issues. NOt sure what to do now. I have already sent O2 support several e-mails with just a standard canned response, which is total BS
The Imate patch is way way better
Well I have tried the XDA IIs patch and I must say it sucks a.. The Imate patch which is a lower bluetooth stack build is way better. With the O2 patch the XDA IIs still randomly turns on. Garbage!!! Come on O2 release a new rom with media player 10 and a bluetooth fix.
Michael
No problems here...Motorola 850 works PERFECT. The official BT patch works great...must be either your headset or 3rd party software
Where...
can I get the imate patch...and is it the whole rom or just hte BT stack> Many thanks;' perhaps THAT will work in my SX66 and my son's O2
Guest, I have two XDA II's with a Motorola 820 bluetooth headset, and with all native apps installed and on the O2 bluetooth patch release it turns on randomly. It does not with the I mate patch so, the O2 release is garbage. Thats why Imate pulled they same bluetooth stack build that O2 released. There is issues with it.

Official O2 ROM Upgrade Info

I have just heard from the Data Support team at O2 (I work in o2 Retail) that there will be an official ROM update released on 1st March which will solve the bluetooth problems and several other issues. Thought it would be of interest to a lot of you!
Fantastic - only thing annoying me right now is the constant drop out of my bluetooth headset whilst driving etc.....well, that and a strange lock up the other night
Upgrade of XDA II
I hope this will enable voice dial as well!!
As listed before my headsets I've brought in from China work great with the XDA II and XDAIIs, but it's always a little annoying to not have voice dial function.
The drop out on the XDAIIs I think you will find is something to do with the power save mode on the bluetooth radio. If you have power save on the radio is shut off and the headset disconnects, although the screen shows the bluetooth radio in operation.
Don't suppose you Source mentioned whether this will be the one to include WMP10 as well?
O2 Tech supp have confirmed to me that this will be in a future ROm update but wouldn't say when
Fingers crossed eh!
Stupidly didn't ask about WMP10... I'm at work again tomorrow so I will try to obtain a definitive list of the enhancements the new ROM will bring.
see this thread

WIFI
Does any one know if the new upgrade will fix the wifi stack? I have rarely been able to connect to wifi networks and looks like many people on this board have the same problems.
Thanks
I had some info from then a while ago, I got the impression that WMP10 would not be included until April time.
When this new rum comes out on Mar 1st, we should start a thread listing the bugs we find in it, and then ship it off to O2. There were rumours of some wifi fixes, but who knows. At the end of the day, 95% of it comes from HTC, so it will likely be much like the updates to the Imate, Qtek etc devices.

Help !~ My O2IIs Bluetooth ...........

Help !~
My O2IIs Bluetooth when I turn on it and go to susupend(standby mode?!) around 5 min ,then I resume the OsIIs again but the bluetooth will be turn off and on .....that have a big problems when I"m using the handset and have incoming call ! The OsIIs is going to resume ..... then the handset will be disconnect (because the BT was turn off automatically)~~But any problem when I do it in 5 min !! ......and I'm sure is not my handset connection problem!!
How can I Sovle it??
Thx ~~
First thing I'd do is ugrade to the latest ROM - you are still using the older one. If you still have problems after that it may be worth going from BT3500 to 3900.
If you don't know how to do either of the above have a little search around the forum. The new ROM is on the O2 site and there are numerous postings about the 3500 to 3900 upgrade all over this forum.

Don't bother. I have 3900 on my IIs and it still does the same thing.
Thanks for rakh1 and kevinnugent reply~~
In fact ,I tried to downlaod and upgrade the newest ROM form the O2 website ! but my O2IIs is not buy in UK ! so....
In the mean time ,I"m also "cooked" (crack?!.. I don't understand what difference on "cooked" and "crack",haha~) the ROM by the "XDA3nbtool",but have the error message on installation ,that show "Radio image file checksum Error ",when I replace the original radio image, that will show the other image file checksum error.....
And I contact the O2 Custom Center in HK ,but they ask me to contact the Singapore customer service ,and said "they just have a repair service only!they haven't technical support ! "
OMG!! haha...a sick joke !!
Finally, the Singapore Custom Center still haven't the solution about this problem !... they just send the "bluetooth BT3500 update patch " for me to try (haha!!...) it can solve this problem or not !!
I have the same problem about BT disconnection
I posted an item about the same problem two days ago...
And the "official" technical support did the same to me: send me the 3500 BT Stack (and I found it in the web and installed two weeks before. Great technical support!).
In fact it's frustrating: I need a car kit that works well for my job, but impossible with Qtek. So, if I want to have a hands free car kit...I must buy another phone?.
Incredible for an expensive machine like Qtek 9090.
I have'nt tryed for the sort of multiple patchs of 3900, but I have no faith in it.
I you find a solution, please let me know.
Good luck!.
j.m.
Hey ~I have the solution now?!~and I tried it a whole day~any problem!
Firstly You must stop the "Auto Power Off" Function on the O2IIs,then go to:
http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=14621
to download the "screenlock" (software) and install it ,after the installation ,you will not have the icon on the “Program file “ (haha…may be the software bug),than go to “file exploroe” ->”My Device”->”Program files”->”screenLock”->”screenlock.exe”,When you run it the first time it will be create the icon on “program file”,If you want to leave it, press the button 1 and 4 (Calendar and Message button on the IIs) simultaneously! Now !the Bluetooth will be connected every time ~
but I still hoped the O2IIs announce the newest rom update for the Asia user soon……..
By the way, when updated the BT3500 ,the “auto resume” problem will be solve or not ??because I’m updated to BT 3900 still no change…..
Thx
Cangratulations Alextly!
ScreenLock works fine, and although this is like killing flyes with a bazooka, it's the only solution that I know about it, and this convert this solution in the better one.
The only question I've got now it's about power consumption. This program Locks (turns down) the screen but, if I understood well, with the screen locked the CPU is sitill gorking "underground", so the battery life can be reduced (I must do some proves).
As far as I know, the BT3500 doesn't solve the problem (I installed and it's the same). I ignore if the 3900 it does, but I'm afraid that it will not. I have not installed because the 3900 I've fount it's some sort of different patches that and they doesn't seem to be very reliable. So I prefer to wait for official Patche. And as says "kevinnugent" seems not to work.
Let's keep the faith for official technical service (my faith it's going down for minutes).
Thanks for you're finding and congratulations. I would never find this one.
j.m.
ScrrenLock
ScreenLock it's not as fantastic as I though: it shuts down the PDA automatically when you are in no-battery mode (for exemple when you're using TOMTOM), and increase battery consumption dramatically.
j.m.
Interesting... I don't seem to have the same symptoms with my SX66 paired with my SE HBH-300 and HCB-30 (car kit). When the SX66 goes into standby, the BT seems to stay connected. If it does disconect with either handsfree, I just press the call pick-up on the handsfree and it re-establishes the BT connection within 2-3 seconds.
I'm using 3900.
Ken
SX66
In fact I think the connection must not be disconnected. And with my Qtek if you have good luck and re-establish the in some way, maybe you will hear nothing...
My car kit it's Drive Blue from Parrot.
