3.5mm Headphone Jack - Touch CDMA Accessories

Hey anyone know of a 3.5mm headphone jack - Ext-USB that works with this phone? I've been searching everywhere, but haven't found anything that works.

i got one with the phone well it was a 2.5 i think and i got an adapter from Radioshack... it's very ugly and dangles i really wish phone companies would just put 3.5 mm jacks right into the phone -
you can also google mini-usb to 3.5 and can find some.

yeah. i'm using the one that came with the phone but it's so bulky. I was just wondering if anyone found something better.

I am currently using this one:

I've had a for about 2-3 months and it works great

T-Mobile Store
If you got to your local T-mobile store you can get an HTC branded 11-pin mini usb to 3.5 mm headphone jack for around ten dollars. I've been using it for a couple months and it works great since it was made to work with the Android HTC Dream. It's a little more pricier than you can find it online, but it's definitely reliable, the connection is sturdy, and it's not terribly overpriced.

i dont recomment the one above because i bought it and when it tangles over time the black rubber part breaks.. try

i just bought one and no problems so far

Which rubber part breaks off? (So I can be careful and elongate the time my cord exists)
I gotta admit, if I wasn't paranoid about buying stuff over the net, I would buy that. It's exactly what I was looking for originally, something sturdy (mainly the one piece connection that is likely to break) and simple.

perfect i saw this on ebay a while ago, but didn't know if it would work with the vogue. thanks so much!

Im just using the adapter for my Dream. Works great, has a built in microphone and hang up button that the ones online DONT have. Connection is fair, sometimes you gotta tighten it a bit.

This is the one that I'm using:
http://www.oriongadgets.com/product_info.php?products_id=2087
It looks like it's bigger but I like it because it's got more cable, which to a degree makes it more flexible in where I can put it. The little block includes a mic, and also has the connector for charging and 3.5mm output. So I can charge and listen to music, or charge and talk using standard headphones/earphones with the built in mic.

Audio Cable Woes Anyone?

I purchased a Seidio mini-usb to audio cable and I cannot get output in both ears no matter what headset or combination of stereo adapters I use. If I hold a stereo adapter half way in the audio cable I can hear in both ears, but that hardly suffices.
Does anybody else own one of these? Do I just have a defective one or is there some secret I don't know?
Thanks
RK
I know that my room mate has a pair and they work fine. I would assume that it is just a defective pair, or your port is messed up.
I have 2 pair. One worked fine, but the cable is so cheap it started to break after 1 week, and only an hour or so of use. I bought another, and only get sound out of one ear. I think you might need to by one of the HTC remotes if you actually want something with quality.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...item=350016629088&_trksid=p3984.cWON.m313.lVI
I bought this one, and it works great. Problem is that it's a bit bulky, but the cable quality is great. I bought one that just outputted audio only and it was small and skinny. broke in 20 minutes of use...
Look for one with a REALLY thick cable. The one above probably has one. The ones with "normal" looking cables on ebay actually have thread-thin wires that will snap in a week.
i have Seidio's 2-in-1 isolators, and they work fine for me, but it does take some doing to make sure the jack is fully pushed in. it goes in farther than the usual sync/charger cables. the main problem is the way it bends out at the jack, which prevents me from taking out my stylus easily.

Mini USB to 3.5mm adapter no response?

ok i just got in my adapter to use on my tilt and when i plug it in with some headphone, i get nothing.. still sound comes out the speaker of the phone and not through the headphones.. do i need to be doing something to route it over or does it automatically spose to..
Which adapter did you get? It should route all sound straight to earphones just like any earphone plugin would.

its a regular adapter that i got off ebay, and i just dont get it, its not routing to the headphones
i think you might have acquired a converter that works for MOTOROLA devices...i made the same mistake initially so i guess it must be a common misconception
if you look at the mini usb part of the adapter, you will notice it is shaped like a trapezoid...point it into your eyes so you can see the little contact pins inside.
with the wide side of the trapezoid along the top and the narrow side of the trapezoid along the bottom, the "correct" adapter would have pins along the narrow side while the motorola style adapter would have pins along the wide side of the trapezoid.
PS: i'm sorry the reader may have to use a dictionary and recall their geometry lessons to interpret my post but i didn't feel like making a diagram or searching for a picture...

If you're planning on keeping the seido adapter, just be sure to Baby your usb prong brother. I was using the seido adapter for around a year and a half with mixed results as most of the time I'd have to fiddle with it to stay connected which was the Good part. Recently upon pulling out the adapter it decided to take my usb prong with it since it's so damn tight which essentially circumcised and killed my kaiser which was a very Happy ****ing day for me. You might be better off getting a set of stereo bluetooth earphones as it'd be a lot safer...

Cradle / Dock for CDMA Hero

Hey everyone,
I've had my Sprint Hero for about 2 months now and am loving it - I haven't even felt the need to root it yet.
But having bought Mobitobi's awesome sleep/alarm apps from the Market, I'm now searching for a good cradle for my Hero to sit on my nightstand and act as my alarm clock.
I've only found a couple options out there. The best looking one (includes 3.5 stereo out) is here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290372582892, but I received it yesterday and realized after many angry emails back and forth to the seller that this dock is actually not specialized for a Hero, but is actually a TP2 dock that the seller claims "some buyers say it works with their Hero too so that's why I listed it that way." Bummer, I know. Why anyone would talk about how awesome this dock is when the phone footprint slot is so huge compared to your phone and is so obviously not stable is beyond me.
The other option that's widely available is this: http://www.wirelessground.com/sherocradle2nd.html?productid=sherocradle2nd&channelid=FROOG, but after this first debacle I'm hesitant to buy.
Have any of you gotten a cradle/dock for your CDMA Hero, and if so, which one, where did you get it, and how well does it work for you? I'm not even interested in a second battery charger, or 3.5 stereo out, but I need something that will keep my phone stable enough to be able to withstand forceful touches of the snooze button on my screen without toppling over!

Nice! I've been searching for this too, but I need a 3.5 mm jack as well. This looks like it fits the bill, and even matches my car stereo (where this will be going).
Up to this point I've been using a dock made for my old htc touch that I hacked by moving the usb jack to the center and flipping it 180 deg.

Thats a great price and seems to have free shipping.
I would like to find one that is horizontal, esp for apps like slacker/pandora and desktop clocks etc, the vertical ones are nice... but not exactly what I'm looking for
deos it fit with the Siedio 3500MHa battery backing?

It's very pretty and a nice price, but the only thing holding it upright is the miniusb connector. That's just not secure enough for me personally. Has anyone else used something different?
I notice they have it in black too, when I followed the link above it takes you to the white for some reason...
Anyone have any pictures of the phone in the doc? Just curious about the fit.

I have the black one on my nightstand at home, if I remember I'll take a pic tonight with it mounted. I was gonna order one online, but found it at BestBuy when I was buying my new bluetooth. I think it was $12
I will re-ask johnsongrantr's question. Are there any horizontal cradles? I currently use my wallet to prop the phone up horizontally at work It actually works well and makes it easier to use things like youtube.

EDIT: Nevermind. It was the GSM version.
that last one says not compatible with Sprint Hero
Since I have yet to find a good cradle, here is what I use in the interim. Albeit it does not provide charging capabilities, or the fact that I have to flip the phone upside down or lay it side ways to charge it, it gets the job done while at work lol
http://androidforums.com/sprint-htc-hero/17311-lol-hero-stand.html
do any cradles allow the use of a case? I have the snap case from the sprint store and wanted a cradle.
I went the Michael's, the craft store and picked up some black modeling clay that hardens in the oven.
I then molded a bunch of the clay together into a horizontal stand, adding a square hole on one side for the charging cable.
Heat fired it in the oven, inserted the cable and added a little hot glue, and viola! I've got my horizontal night stand for my clock applications. Total cost of about $9 I believe in clay.
I've still got to sand it, but because it works and I don't really care if it's smooth, I'm not going to get to sanding anytime soon.
Just an idea. This way, you can make it look however you want.
I am wondering if this one would work:
http://www.thepocketsolution.com/PSI-43943/HTC+Kaiser+Horizontal+Powered+USB+Cradle.html
It has a very similar mini-usb port.

That's actually a really interesting idea. Could you maybe take pictures? I'm curious what it turned out like
Can't post URLs because I'm new but Goto BoxWave.com... 'Sprint Hero' down the right hand side, Cradle's & Mounts..
$53.00 for the one with the spare battery charging slot...
I'm considering it.

Dock

Does anyone know where i can get a dock for the HTC Legend? Looking to put it on my desk. Something like this would be perfect:
It seams the dock for Nexus one or desire, but this two phone have three connection pins (to charge the battery) in addition to the micro USB connector and I think, expecially for the form factor, that we'll never see a dock for Legend.
Sorry David67 but the Desire does NOT have three connectors.
It only has the one (USB connector) - exactly the same as the Legend.
I have so far been unable to find a dock for my Desire or my Legend but would be very interested to hear of any "out there".
There are now several docks from several different sellers on ebay. Mainly this version:
http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-Base-Dock-C...UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL&hash=item1e5ba07d1e
and this type
http://cgi.ebay.com/HTC-Legend-Andr...ewItem&pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item5ad90428e6
Second one is "better looking" with the chrome detailing, but from what I can tell from the pictures the Legend won't sit flush fit the cradle, almost hovering on the usb connector. The first one seems like it allows the Legend to sit firmly in the cradle/dock.
There's a dock (or 'sync-charge cradle') on Clove under PDA Accessories --> HTC --> HTC Legend. It looks quite nice.
Plenty now also on eBay
I bought one off ebay, works perfectly. Leaving ur phone hanging by the tiny little micro usb port seems precarious though, but what can u do...
If you buy from an HK seller (or China), make sure to pay the extra $1 to have it shipped via registered airmail, much faster and basic tracking number
I bought a Proporta cradle ... working fine and useful!
I went to an office supply store, bought a metal business card holder, bent it to the appropriate shape, put it on my desk, then put the phone in the holder. The USB plug is still exposed so I can charge it too! Total cost = $2.50 Canadian.
Docks are cool, but I think they're generally way too expensive.

The bent card holder sounds like a great idea. However, I am uncertain of what the card holder you used looked like. A photo would be very helpful to those of us who might like to follow through on your idea.

3.5 Jack

Hi Guys,
Just got ROG 2 yesterday... While testing all the spec and accessories, i felt that my 3.5 jack port is not that good. Every headset that i tried was very loose and easy dropped.
Am i the one feeling like this or do any one face the same problem?
Maybe a little once it's in, but getting it in is tight! 1st time I tried, I use Bluetooth ones mainly....
Mine has a solid connection. not loose at all. After plugging in my earbuds, I can suspend the phone by the cable and it doesn't come undone. I can even jiggle it with it only secured by the 3.5 mm jack. When inserting the cable, i can feel it click solidly.

Nice to hear that, but i have raised PUR. Planning to fix it.
Yea the headphone jack on this phone is super tight compared to the LGs and Samsungs I've had.
Sent from my ASUS_I001DC using Tapatalk
maybe check other jacks, some are tight. worst case scenario is you have a defective one.
Mine is fine I use it every weekday when traveling to and from work. No complaints here
No issues here also. Tested with Oneplus Bullets, Audiotechnica M50x and some cheap FiiO headphones.
