I'm more confident now, thank you...it would be fantastic if app2sd have worked...

@paul: can you do something for that apps2sd please.... we all are dying to install as many apps as possible on our tattoo.... but the internal memory is the big hurdle for us......
please give us one more contribution.... we would love to have it ASAP if you wish to make it.... please

go ahead...its just great.... even i want a simple apps2sd hack.... i am running very low internal memory..... i hope someone will help us very soon....

A2SD coming up soon, optional via the MoDaCo Online Kitchen.
I forget to mention that this ROM also moves your system dalvik-cache only to /cache... freeing up more data space for your, er, data and apps.
P

and what about the flash?
do I simply have to flash the update.zip through the recovery without a wipe?
in this way will I save the applications and configurations as it was just an update?

Correct. Flash update zip via a modified recovery, no wipe needed.
P

Paul give us app2sd on your next release...i need it as soon as possible...please

i don't wont to stress paul...his is the best work i've seen right now

thanx paul

Me too, but "if it is possible, it's done"

paul i read in your site that I may have a problem with flashing because my rom is an official rom and not a custom rom? what do you suggest to me?

May have and will have are two different worlds. Try the ROM.

Afternoon everyone!
I've put this ROM up for everyone to have a play with while I try and resolve an issue. This ROM has the MCR build optimisations, my custom kernel and other good stuff, however I seem to be having issues remounting and writing to the /system partition, which is scuppering Dropbear for the ROM. While I investigate this, enjoy!

I don't understand only a thing: with the phrase quoted above are you saying that i can't remount in rw /system and write in it? Why? Any workaround?
Thank you

Looking good. I might snip parts of your mods for use with AzusaROM. I'm not too sure about the update-script syntax, the custom recovery we got uses updater-script. More info later...
Ok, but now try to make update without wipe, without formating system and data.
If you want to add/delete some few things - no need to format whole device)

Ok! Thanks! I'll try... but.. if I want to remove "things"...I will have to write the proper commands to do so in the update-script, haven't I?
So do you think that this ROM could work? Do you recommend to try to flash it [before creating a goldcard in case something bad happens, of course xD]??
Any ideas for the show_progress command? What does the following numbers mean?

Of course! I'm going to bed now, so tomorrow I will post all the links I extract the information from. If you can't wait: all the posts are from this forum.
I'm working on a custom rom for tattoo too, but i don't know how to flash un update zip, what's the command? Can you help me?
you need a custom recovery by mainfram3 zip yor rom and copy to sd, rename update.zip, restart the tattoo in recovery mode (home+power) and select "apply sdcard:update.zip"

Commands to remove something:
Code:
delete SYSTEM:lib/libA2DP.so
delete SYSTEM:build.prop
delete SYSTEM:xbin/bb/busybox
delete DATA:app_s/MarketEnabler.apk
Creating goldcard is to avoid region (customer id) check ONLY.
But goldcarding keeps company with way to get new ROM - this thing confuse all often)
If you have modified recovery, doesnt matter what CustomerID do you have.
AFAIK and also mainfram3 can back me up on this, is that updater-script uses a 1.6 syntax like ui_write(), format(MTD,'system') etc unlike 1.5 which uses a basic format, with format SYSTEM: etc etc.
This leads us into the grey area, what commands do we have? Is there some that will damage the device? What does update-binary do exactly (I know it updates the ROM, dur , but what exactly).
Unless we can back port 1.5 script syntax to work with mainfram3's custom recovery, it looks like we're limited to trial and error.
Update-binary
These are the functions available in update-binary, through the use of the updater-script:
Code:
void RegisterInstallFunctions() {
RegisterFunction("mount", MountFn);
RegisterFunction("is_mounted", IsMountedFn);
RegisterFunction("unmount", UnmountFn);
RegisterFunction("format", FormatFn);
RegisterFunction("show_progress", ShowProgressFn);
RegisterFunction("set_progress", SetProgressFn);
RegisterFunction("delete", DeleteFn);
RegisterFunction("delete_recursive", DeleteFn);
RegisterFunction("package_extract_dir", PackageExtractDirFn);
RegisterFunction("package_extract_file", PackageExtractFileFn);
RegisterFunction("symlink", SymlinkFn);
RegisterFunction("set_perm", SetPermFn);
RegisterFunction("set_perm_recursive", SetPermFn);
RegisterFunction("getprop", GetPropFn);
RegisterFunction("file_getprop", FileGetPropFn);
RegisterFunction("write_raw_image", WriteRawImageFn);
RegisterFunction("write_firmware_image", WriteFirmwareImageFn);
RegisterFunction("apply_patch", ApplyPatchFn);
RegisterFunction("apply_patch_check", ApplyPatchFn);
RegisterFunction("apply_patch_space", ApplyPatchFn);
RegisterFunction("ui_print", UIPrintFn);
}
Attached to this post you'll find the source to update-binary, from the Android 1.6 SDK.
Hope this helps!
Thank you very very much mainfram3.
With this information I think I would be able to build a update.zip with a working ROM (finally!!).
I will upload it.
Can't get the download links to work... Page cannot be found
Hey mikifafi, how about a tutorial about how did you do this rom customization??
Thanx in advance
¿A new working ROM?
Finally I was able to upload the version 1.2 of this ROM.
I have changed the updater-script, so it must flash now. If it does, you will have a bit faster rom than the original without the slow Sense UI.
You can download it from the first post of this topic: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=643368
Please, if someone tries it, post your results
P.S.: Dropping my "favourites" about rom cooking into a text file to post it here later.
Downloading right away Will post back with results.
Btw. Love your new uploading page
thanks for your work!
worked!!! i go to test,after i publish my comments
Thanks for you work
Works here too!
Seems fast at first sight. Will test more and return
Thank you very very very much chusen and whooper90 for trying it in your devices!!
I'm very happy of seeing that it works!!!
Now I notice that I forgot to completely remove Sense UI (it is just desactivated, isn't it?). I will change it and also will remove some not-free apps that shouldn't be there.
Can any of you try to run "busybox --initial" to install busybox, please?

[ROM] LGP500 AmberHome V1.1 (02.12.2010)

LGP500 AmberHome ROM

This is the first ROM I have ever created and its very close to the stock one. Only some preinstalled apps are removed and some features added. I don't have the time to make much modifications so don't expect much "killer features" in this ROM.
The main intention for creating this ROM was that I was low on internal memory all the time so the main feature for me is the Darktremor Apps2SD support.
If you want to overclock, install this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=866774
This ROM ist based on the original european Firmware and you can download it here: http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP500/ANEUBK/V10c_00/V10C_00.kdz
For the german version of this thread look here: http://www.android-hilfe.de/lg-p500-optimus-one/57227-rom-lgp500-amberhome-v1-0-25-11-2010-a.html
Features/Changelog:
V1.1:
hardware acceleration enabled
raised Dalvik Heap Size to 40M
more complete APN-List from Cyanogen ROM
ES File Explorer added
ADW Launcher updated to 1.3.3.
V1.0:
Based on V10c EUR
Root
Superuser
Bash
Everything deodexed
All APKs zipaligned
JIT enabled
Dalvik Heap Size 32MB
Memory parameters for auto taskkiller optimized
LG Launcher replaced with ADW Launcher 1.2.0 (deinstallable)
Many preinstalled apps removed or made deinstallable
Google Maps updated to 4.7.0
Darktremor Apps2SD
Dalvik Cache moved to SD-Card
Download:

V1.0: LGP500_AH_1_0.zip
Custom status bar:
THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH STOCK ROM! Your ROM needs to be deodexed!
Many people wished a black status bar (including me) so I took a look into it. The tricky part of making a black status bar is to get the clock, date and ticker text color to white. There are some tools here in the forum for doing this automatically but none of them worked for me so I searched for a description, how to make this manually. I found it in a youtube video.
The easier part is changing icons, battery symbol etc because there is the great Ultimate Online Theme Kitchen. This is really great. Just click together what you want and let this kitchen cook your theme. . Most features should work but I have not tested them all.
If you want to create your own status bar feel free to extract the framework-res.apk from one of the following files. If you want to create a black status bar use the first one, if you want to create a white status bar use the second one.
These files are flashed like a ROM. (First reboot takes very long)

Credits and Donations
Though it took me some nights to create this ROM and to create the black status bar I only used tools created by others. So if you want to make a donation please make a donation to them, not me.
drellisdee for the great recovery and the first OC Kernel. Thank you very much!
dsixda for the great and simple kitchen. Everybody can create a ROM with it. Thanks very much!
The team behind the Ultimate Online Theme Kitchen. This makes it possible to create great simple themes. Thank you very much.
And a big thanks to the others who developed the tools I used. Mainly: Windows Enabler, DZExtract, unyaffsmbn, nandroid, ...
Installation:
1. Root
Rooting the phone is very simple. Look this thread: [APP]SuperOneClick v1.5.5 (Root, Unroot, Enable Non-Market App, Get UNLOCK code) - xda-developers
You can also root the LG P500 with the z4root market app.
2. Install custom Recovery
See here to install custom recovery: Custom recovery Optimus One P500/Thunderg - Android Forums
3. Partition SD-Card
Because this ROM uses Apps2sd you need an ext3 partition on your sd-card.
Make backup of sd-card
boot into recovery (HOME+VolumeDown+Power)
select "Partition sdcard"
select "Partition SD" and confirm with menu

In this ROM Apps2sd working. Great job. With 50 apps I have 117 MB free memorry (30 MB before).
Thank you
I'm having problems figuring out the difference between Froyo's native app2sd functionality and the methode that's used here (seperate partition on the external sd card). Could someone please explain it to me?
APS2SD work like a charm ! Thank you !!
Thank you for the work on this ROM!
Just flashed, everything worked well. Coming from the USA Tmobile stock rom, the aesthetics are much better in this
Linpack MFLOPS score went from 3.6 to 7.4!
Everything is tops so far. Any problems I will post, but so far so good!
Thanks again from the US!
Good job, I did exactly the same with my personal ROM, also through the no-brainer dsixda's kitchen.
I suggest you enable hardware accel, change vm.heapsize to 48mb and replace ADW with LP.
i am using ADW, so ADW is ok. LP cost money, btw
ADW is sluggish. LP ftw (and it's free).
lg home default
hi, how can reinstall lg home default? thanks

Sorry, I don't really know. The ROM is based on the V10c Version which is linked here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9263813&postcount=3
So if this version supports Asian language, my ROM will support it, too.

Froyo Apps2SD: App must support it. You have to manually move the app to SD. Only parts of the app are moved to SD. Does not support Apps with widgets.
Darktremor Apps2SD (used in this ROM): Needs ext3 partition on SD-card. Every App is moved to SD-card (even those with widgets). Saves lots more of space. Disadvantage: You can't remove SD card from device while device is powered on.
I think Darktremor Apps2SD is much better than Froyos so I added it to the ROM.

Currently playing around with 48MB Heap and HW acceleration. ADW is my favorite and will stay (will be updated soon).

Just search for "LG Home" in Market but be aware that some of the standard widgets are removed, though some of them (at least the calendar widget) are available in the market, too.
Wow, a custom rom already? That's great!!!!
Thank you!!
Hi, I have this phone recently, and I would have some questions:
1. How to backup the original ROM from the phone before you install this rom changed?
2. How to return to the original version of the rom hour did not go well? you could put the steps back?
3. Everything works with this rom? any malfunction?

I'm pleased to present my MoDaCo Custom ROM (Froyo 2.2.1) for the HTC Wildfire! READ THIS WHOLE POST BEFORE YOU START! No, really, it contains everything you need to know.
Remember that if you use this ROM, you do so entirely at your own risk!!
About MoDaCo Custom ROMs
MoDaCo Custom ROMs are based on official ROMs - either shipping or leaked. A MCR release is designed to feel as far as possible like a stock ROM, with optimisations, tweaks and complimentary additions that enhance the user experience. The aim of a MCR is to be ultra reliable for use on an everyday device.
Requirements
In order to use this ROM on your device, you must have a custom recovery image installed (Clockwork Mod).
Features
Based on an as yet unreleased official European Froyo update (2.22.405.1 / Froyo 2.2.1)
Pre-rooted with su and Superuser Permissions by ChainsDD
Built, tweaked and massaged with the MCR build process which reduces the size and boosts the speed of the ROM
Patched 'Rosie' (Sense) to allow click-drag homescreen rearrange when pinch-zoomed out
busybox with Droid Explorer support
MCR version displayed in 'About' screen
terminfo and settings in boot.img to allow nano etc. use
Insecure boot image (ro.secure=0) with init.d support
ROM is de-odexed
Updated Google Components
Updated Flashlight which now becomes 'Torch' for non en-US configuration.
Added Voice Search with Voice Actions
Added option to use stock lock screen instead of HTC version
Slimmed Customize dir, additional locales added
Optional Titanium Backup
Optional Wavesecure via the online kitchen (installed to system partition for maximum security)
Optional WiFi Status indicator
Optional 13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10 radio
More stuff i've probably forgotten
Optional bootsound removal
Please note that this is the first release, many more changes will be added now via the kitchen and periodically updated prebakes (as per normal MCR builds!)
Changelog
Please see 2 posts below this one for the changes in each release.
Installation
To install this ROM:
Download the zip file of your choice from the links below (or the online kitchen) and copy to your SD card
Restart your device in recovery mode
PERFORM A NANDROID BACKUP FROM THE MENU
Select the option to apply an update zip, and select the zip file you copied to your memory card
Please note that as a de-odexed ROM, the initial boot takes a while!
Upgrading
No wipe is explicitly required in order to use this ROM, however if you do encounter issues of any kind, it is recommended that you wipe your device and reproduce the issue before raising it here.
Downloads
This ROM is now available in the online kitchen! In addition to the kitchen, a prebaked download is available.

NOTE:
You MUST WIPE YOUR DEVICE before flashing this ROM UNLESS you are upgrading from an earlier release. This is due to the resigning of key components with the AOSP platform key, to facilitate skinning / customising etc.
Features at this time:
Based on the GRJ22 (2.3.4) release
Packaged for ClockworkMod 3.0.0.0+
Rebuilt using the MoDaCo MCR optimisation scripts
Includes MCK custom kernel with TUN and CIFS modules
Incorporates supercurio's EXT4 performance tweak
Full up to date Google experience + additional apps (including new look Market)
HSPA icon differentiation ('H' icon when transferring data via HSPA)
Insecure boot image
su / Superuser.apk root
Support for running scripts from /etc/init.d at startup
Terminfo support (for nano etc)
Busybox
Optional 'allow SIP over non-WiFi connections' in the kitchen
Semi-transparent notification pull-down
Optional 'Spare Parts' app
Optional radio updates (latest update recommended!)
Removed Browser zoom buttons
framework-res and core libraries / apks are signed with the 'platform' certificate from AOSP, aiding those who wish to edit the framework-res / SystemUI.apk to theme. Simply extract, edit, resign with the platform certificate and push the file.
A bunch of other stuff that i've forgotten
Installation is recommended via ClockworkMod recovery, which MUST be version 3.0.0.0 or above. ENSURE YOU HAVE A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING!

Thanks.

Lol i just got stuck in a bootloop by trying to use the zune font from the other thread, luckily just adb in recovery and sorted stuff out
Is there anyway to get the zune font working on this rom tho? I really like it!
If I back up with Rom Manager and wipe before flashing this, will it delete my backup too?
+1

Quick question, with my evo whenever I flashed a custom rom, I would backup my current rom, wipe everything (data and cache) then I'll flash the new rom.
Is this process the same for the Nexus S?

That's what I did and everything seems to be working.
Edit: Home button wasn't working after I flashed the ROM, however a quick reboot fixed the issue.
