RETIRED:[ROM][RHODIUM][US][Lite] 6.5 Foundation v1.0(Sense 2.1)(T-Mobile) 25-Jul-2010 - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile ROM Development

I have decided to retire this ROM, it has served it's purpose and it is time to move on.
I'm very new at this, so don't expect anything flashy, I'm going for stability.
I'm working on a T-Mobile stable stock 6.5 foundation ROM.
The idea is to start with the stock 6.5 release and remove any apps that can be updated from the Internet. That way you always have a stable ROM with most of the standard features found in the T-Mobile 6.5 release and you get to pick and choose what structures you want to build on top of your foundation.
Due to multiple removal requests, I'm no longer hosting this ROM, however, other people are providing mirrors.

Recommended install
Hard SPL (follow instructions)
Task 29 (follow instructions)
To save time, install the T-Mobile 6.5 release, it will put the radio on and reset the splashscreen (if you like the TMo splash, some do)

Changelog
v0.5 - First release
v0.51 - Minor bugfixes
v0.6 - Fixed some menu items, updated XDA_UC
v0.7 - 1% battery driver. Added some changes to XDA_UC.
v1.0RC - Fixed minor issues with XDA_UC. Registry. ROM appears stable.
v1.0 - Released - Stable
Flash at your own risk. This ROM is pre-configured for T-Mobile US phones only. Other phones may not work, and Verizon/Sprint phones absolutely will not work and you will brick your phone..

ROM has the following removed:
Google Maps
Handango
MyPhone
Bing
Facebook
MyFaves
Visual Voicemail
Sample Music
OZ IM
Windows Live
Windows Live IM
WM Live Search Widget
WM Money Search Widget
WM Weather Search Widget
Jetcet (I never use it, but if people want it back in I'll keep it in)
Updated:
.NET CF to 3.5
Sense 2.1 - Compressed CFC
Turned off Push Internet to save memory, can be turned back on easily.
Added:
XDA_UC - I don't use it (yet), but I'm guessing some people might find it useful.
Things I left in and why:
Office 2007 - So you can upgrade to office 2010 via the marketplace.
Opera 9.5 - It's a solid browser, it works well and you can always add Mobile 5 later.
Youtube - This version seems to work well on the TP2, I'm not going to break a working app, again, can be updated to Google's latest version.
Sense 2.1 - The ROM came with this version and it performs well. I CFC'd it to improve memory, I did not notice much of a difference, but it can't hurt.

Structures
A Structure is a simple app or script to build on top of the Foundation ROM. Examples of structures would be an script to re-order the menu, or something to update a core component. They are completely optional and should be easy to customize.
I've attached a simple script to organize the start menu a little better. Rename it to menus.mscr and run it on the phone. Like I said, it's very simple, feel free to open it in notepad and make changes to your liking.
The second script is nobackup.mscr, it will remove the T-Mobile backup app from the startup and menus.

Much Success
May you be very successful in this. I just got into flashing a couple of days ago and its the coolest thing. I have the HD2 my wife likes what I am doing a wants to have some fun as well which is why I am in this section. I will check to see what progress your able to make.

I would have liked to have Telenav cooked in because I can never get it to work on custom ROMs so I have just settled for TomTom... But you may also want to remove the IM apps because a lot of people including myself just use Palringo (much like ebuddy if you are familiar with it)... Good luck with this, I was sad to see the Timor series discontinued as I am a T-Mobile USA customer too, but maybe this can be better.

I didn't think Telenav would be an issue, I'll put it back in. Hopefully I'll have something to show soon.

Version 0.5 is up. Let me know if you like it.
The usual warnings apply to anyone flashing, flash at your own risk, this is a beta release.
I fixed some problems and put up version 0.51.

Future releases
Future releases:
Does anyone want any of the following removed?
Jblend
T-Mobile Mobile Backup
T-Mobile email setup wizard
Youtube (can always download from Google)
Office 2007
MS Voice command
Does anyone want the following added?
New icons (Cook some in, or let you make your own set)
better folder layout (Again, do I do this in ROM, or would you rather do it yourself)
sense 2.5 (might be too tough)
Are there any additional apps that should be in the ROM.

I think you should keep it simple and try not to add custom gfx/icons. Leave that up to other chefs like Sergio and NRG.
I also think you should leave in youtube, MS Voice Command and the email setup wizard. Can you toss in the latest version of Office and Palringo?
You should also stick to Sense 2.1 for obvious reasons. (RAM, stability)

As this is your rom most of this should be up to you and what you think is best, but to keep most happy, I would say keep HTC Youtube because the Google version is not as good as HTC's app, and HTC Youtube is very tricky to get to work via CAB. Everything else you mentioned I would remove. I can only give my advice as to what I think you are trying to accomplish here, a stable and clean rom for T-Mobile users. So I'd stay away from Sense 2.5, because then you would probably have to change the WM build for stability reasons... And in that case you may be better off starting with the stock rom that comes with Sense 2.5 (which would make this no different from the popular Energy or DeepShining roms). So, to stay away from that I would leave the Sense and WM builds alone.
Other than that, I'd stay away from freeware apps that can easily be added via CAB. If you intend to include UC in the future it will be easy to get our favorite apps installed. But some are best off cooked in, like Youtube and Telenav... But one of my pet peeves is chefs throwing in Total Commander, and I am a Resco Explorer user. Total Commander can easily be installed wit a CAB, no problem. These apps I feel should be left out of custom roms. And I would also leave icons as is... Too much time wasted on something we can and usually will customize ourselves, more focus should be put on speed, stability, battery life, etc...
I will try this out soon.
EDIT: OK here is some feedback after a few minutes of use...
-You have an empty Instant Messaging start menu folder
-T-Mobile's e-mail setup app is redundant because there is an HTC app which does the same thing
-Very fluid, responsive, and fast
-Start menu needs some cleaning up

Thanks for the feedback.
I'm working on the next release which will fix a couple of minor issues, fix the menu up and I'm thinking about Office Mobile 2010.
I'm avoiding adding Palringo for now, it's easily installed.
Overall, I'm happy with the ROM so far, it boots up to about 50% free memory, it's fast and the battery life is excellent.
I'm always open to any suggestions, comments or other ideas, so keep them coming.

v.06 released
I have released version .06 which fixes some issues with XDA_UC and creates some submenus to hold the extra tools and internet components.
Please send feedback.
Also, I will start writing a few minor structures to build on this foundation in the upcoming days.

Downloading now...

I've uploaded a simple script (see third post) that will improve the menus for anyone who likes a more organized layout.
I'm also going to write one to disable the T-Mobile backup service.

A few things to consider for future releases:
- Add 1% battery driver and 1% compatible taskbar (stock with battery % above the icon)
- Additional tabs
- 4 rows start menu
- Action Screen
Other than that, this rom seems pretty close to final IMO... Maybe update Office to 2010 or remove it, I'd also remove Mobile Backup. Really loving this rom so far, my only complaint is the problem with starting up where you get the select time zone screen. It happened to me on the stock rom too, but I was hoping for some kind of fix.

I'm looking into all of them, including office 2010. Mobile Backup is easy to remove, I've uploaded a mini script for that. See post 3.
As for the timezone, you shouldn't be getting it. I have not seen it myself since I did a task29 clean, you might want to look into that.

Yes I did so too... But I have been getting it on and off. I got the same thing happening with the stock rom.

You might want to remove Office 2007. Office 2010 is now a free download to any device that has WM6.5 installed. In keeping with your stated theme that anything that has an upgrade is removed that should qualify. I will be trying your new ROM soon.

I would love to see a T-Mobile ROM with manila 2.5

Unfortunately, it's not a free download unless you have Office 2007 installed. Attempting to install on a ROM without 2007 will fail.
Another solution is to use a copy of Office 2010 found here, but I'm reluctant to do so. I would rather keep the ability to download updates from Microsoft.

[Q]What Do You Want In A ROM?

I'm new to this rom cooking business here so i wanted to see what everyone wanted out of a ROM. I've already made something with the help of all folks on XDA but i'm not sure if this is something i want to release because its not really any different than the roms that are already out there except its probably slower
The idea of this is for everyone to tell me what they want in a rom and maybe some advice in cooking ROMs would be nice.
My Ideas:
1. A lite ROM
2. an SPB ROM (of course you would have bought SPB mobile shell to use this)
3. A touch flo 3d rom (Just because i love itje and chalid's ROMS)
1. Touchflo 3D... that is a MUST for me
2. ALL Microsoft apps included with X1. I lose MS notes program with Xperience
3. ALL included games
4. perhaps a new panel or two
5. instant messaging
6. more stable bluetooth
7. wifi networking / UMA calling
Just things that I would like... not sure how feasible some are, but definitely a wish list.
1. A TF3D version that is capable of handling AVRCP and A2DP correctly!!! (like daran clarkes)
2. Voip
basicly just a fast default ROM without anything special.
so lightweight plx!?
so i can install TF3D instead of manilla (a2dp, seems faster too)
Agreed upon the TF3D..that is deffinatly a must! IN PORTRAIT AND LANDSCAPE
ALL MS Office Apps
All Stock Apps + Additional ones from diff roms
A few new panels
Full QWERTY Keyboard
(Xperice is good, but i dont like the blackstone layout for dialer nor password screen) I like the metal brush look like the stock one had

Are you talking about One Note? I can definitely add that back. The one i already cooked i removed that too.

By All included games do you mean Sudoku and Bejwelled? I believe they are both shareware... Would anyone be interested in having emulators in there although they don't quite work without the WVGA fix?
4. perhaps a new panel or two

I had originally removed panles but maybe that is another ROM i will create. One with Panels, One without plus TFL3D and one with Both.
5. instant messaging

6. more stable bluetooth

Are you talking about the TF3DBETA2 that is out? Thats the one i'm working off of with adding touchflo3d. Its modded with itje's beautiful touch of blue stuff but i might be changing that all to red. I have to figure out how to edit manila files.

yep! thats the one im talking about. i read that it has propper a2dp support while the manilla doesnt have. havnt had a chance to test it yet since my car radio got stolen last month
oh and plz ... if there has to be TF3D on teh ROm, DONT mod it with colors. turning the tf3d into blue is easy, but making it black aggain is kinda impossible cause i havnt found the darn skin/cab for it yet.
Hmmm well thats interesting. I was going to make it similar to itje's touch of blue but i was going to make it red but you have a valid point. I'll release those as cabs if i can find a free cab creation program.
I agree with the OP on his first suggestion;
A lite rom for each WM build, with updated drivers/tweaks and a selection of cabs for commonly used applications so we can pick and choose what we install.
I don't much like TF3D or Panels, I prefer SPB applications (low resource use and better customisation, IMHO).
Of course "tweaks and drivers" can sometimes be a matter of opinion, but as far as ROMs go I'd like any available choice to be mine. So if there's a choice between two or more Ati driver dlls, for example, to provide the ddls for download to be installed at the user's discretion.
Even an untweaked lite ROM for each WM build would be good, so we can experiment with tweaks and configuration as we see fit.
Whoa for each WM build? There are hundreds of builds out there. I will update the builds as i find out about them but i don't think i'll be cooking a ROM for each build out there. I think i'm going to start with a lite rom.
Question to all. Do you want panel manager installed so you have the flexibility to install the panels or just blank. If i don't install panels i'm going to try and remap the the panel buttion to a start button.

Panels are cool IMHO
I would love to see a rom that is as close to stock as possible regarding content.
A stock rom with tweaked settings for performance. No added programs (such as TF3D, games, plugins, apps etc.)
Then provide links to cab files containing new apps and so on.
Etc. a cab for TF3D, cab for Blackstone Dialer, cab for Blackstone keyboard and so on.
That way people can install those seperately and get their phone 100% like they want it.
The main problem with most roms is that people do not want all of it so by making a single clean stock rom containing only updated apps, drivers and tweaks and then making cab files available that would certainly make more users switch.

Agreed 100%.
I hope you make a basic tweaked rom where you can add or remove your cabs. so you can easily update de progs by uninstall the old cab and replace it with the new version.
I'm going to start working on a Lite ROM tonight when i get home. I'm going to try a performance tweak that i've done before..... Hopefully i don't brick my phone
As many of those who responded:
- TF3D
- All stock apps* (Yes, i want OneNote, i use it at work and it is great)
- All stock games*
- to be stable enough, to use for few months without worrying about flashing again..
*about stock apps and games, it is ok also to remove them from the ROM but at least provide them as cabs.
basically a FAST rom, these little devices are nice, but the small lags are quite annoying when you are in a hurry (like when you slide the keyboard to write someone s name to cal them but then you slide it back because you want to phone without the keyboard extended)
I'd agree on most points!
A great idea to start cooking
I think it would be pretty neat if you could cook a rom with all the stuff (TF3D, panels manager and so on) but make the apps uninstallable, if possible and please please please leave the tf3d in black I just love the whole stuff on may phone in black!
p.s.: did you see the ripped max 4G contacts app? its much better than the htc and windows one. I installed it today and its really smooth!
Thanks in advance!
You have a problem with the speed of the screen rotation? I haven't seen this on any of the roms i've used with the exception of my current one lol.. but i think i screwed something up.

Stock 2.07.401.1 ROM trimmed to Lite

Hello everyone,
OK, here is my first go at ROM cooking.
I was looking for a very basic ROM with only must-have applications inside, so that I can later install the software I *do* use. Eventually I gave up, as all the ROMs and even the Lite'est ones had too much features / utilities. I thought I would then take the latest official ROM available (for stability purpose) and trim it down to minimum elements (for size reduction).
Herewith is what I ended up with:
http://rapidshare.com/files/3829100....25.91_Signed_Ship_trimmed_by_aziraphale_.rar
This in no way can be called a "cooked" ROM, I still know nothing about cooking, but it is a heavily trimmed stock ROM, created by the use of RhodiumKitchen_0.1, found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=560519.
Thanks Dave for this Tutorial and all the credits go to respective tools' developers.
How to install:
- unrar
- connect with ActiveSync (or loader in USB mode)
(goes without saying Your device must be Hard-SPL'd or modified any other way to allow ROM flashing - search the forum)
- execute RomUpdateUtility.exe
There are some residual unnecessary and/or invalid shortcuts in the Start Menu,
as well as some empty folders, I manually removed them by the use of EveryWAN personal edition - it's free and it's easy to use.
The OS is 6.5 b21887
I have trimmed the following from the stock ROM:
HTC applications:
- appointment editor
- clear storage (can do Hard reset in normal way)
- facebook / engine
- format SD (can't a PC do that?)
- CoPilot + install path folder (I use TomTom)
- birthday
- bookmark
- messaging client (hate it)
- jblend
- jetcet
- manila all
- opera (when You install newer version You end up with 2 )
- sliding sounds
- social networks engine
- streaming media
- tv out
- youtube
- volume control
- google maps (same as with opera)
- setting improvement
- text selection
- wifi wizard
- browser snapshot
- ie6 enhancement
- world card mobile (BCR)
- rss hub
System:
- live search
- wm widgets
- win live
- welcome center
- transcriber
- skymarket
- one note
- remote desktop
- themes except Rock and Republic
- my phone (skybox)
- livesearch
I do not expect this to become very useful to most of the forum visitors/members, but perhaps there is someone out there who have not found his/her way around to make ROMs him(her)self yet, but would like to get the very basic ROM with no extras.
Very hard to define "must have" apps. I personally prefer WM6.1 over WM6.5. Bad thing is you can't install every app\functionality by using CAB's. Otherwise you could create a ROM of around 40MB. Mine is currently ~70MB and is just great for my personal use.
Might be handy to add to the first post that your ROM is actually a WM6.5 ROM
Good luck on the cooking!

You said it yourself - the "must-have" are the ones that can not be added by .cabs and will compromise phone functionality (like the HTC dialer skin will enable video calls, thus must stay)

the "2.07.401.1" implies 6.5, but added to description anyway, thanks
Good effort dude I did much the same a month or so ago with an amalgamation of Ervius Visual Kitchen (so easy) and JoshKoss kitchen. Didn't go as savage on the removal of stuff though, main objective was to get rid of the HTC Messaging
Just tried May 1st 23xxx EnergyROM with MaxManila but it cuts off MP3 playback in standby (a big no-no for me) and hung once already while texting MaxManila is nice though, and the Facebook tab is good. I usually stick to 21xxx but I must say 23xxx is growing on me with the latest build. Gonna try Cell Pro next.
I like the latest stuff but keeping up with it all is a nightmare if you're cooking. Wouldn't mind the latest 2.5 Manila packages and latest 21xxx / 23xxx SYS, also would try cooking in MaxManila, and I never managed to cook in "mark all as read" for emails properly. Need to learn how to hack on Manila. Also I forgot to cook in a task manager haha Ameba is quite nice on the latest EnergyROM. I definitely get the "why cook it in if you can get it from Marketplace / OMarket and auto update it" though, totally with you on that one instead of flashing a new ROM every week. I usually flash a new one every month or so, once I find one I like. But for the last month or so I've been running my own. It wasn't the fastest ROM ever though
It's a lot of work to make a decent ROM, and it's finding the time innit. I'm a big fan of JoshKoss but he hasn't released anything in a while
Anyway good effort dude the more the merrier I say
Also just a quick note I did get the Standby Of Death a couple of times on my cooked ROM. Very rare but still. No idea why. Don't know if it happens with the stock ROM or not.
Would like to know how to totally remove HTC messaging, sometimes when texting via Manila it would still give the conversation view which runs like a dog when you have 4,800 messages hehe
And the speakerphone sometimes screwed up - I could hear the other party but they couldn't hear me.

Before going through the trouble of surgically removing the rudimentary software myself, I have tried a few "professionally" (read: respect, not sarcasm) cooked Energy and Leo ROMs, most of them VERY recent, but I found them SOOO packed with tweaks and features, that it would take me ages just to discover all the extras. I am more on the simplier side, don't fix something which is not broken, but I just HATE Manila (expect a lot of angry protestors here) and I am not big fan of HTC customisations either. Hence was this ROM done and I am so far rather happy with it.
There is no sign of HTC messaging which I can find, and I can install and use only necessary (for me) bits of software.
For "mark all as read" there is a really good .cab on the forum, called "safeboxextender", it works like a charm and I don't mind having to install it separately (i.e. not. cooked-in).
Having come from 1.86 ROM to 2.07 I do notice that device keeps hanging even without being put to sleep, but I can not figure out the dependency yet (I mean so far it looks rather random).

Yeah me too, those guys have spent probably 100's if not 1000's of hours on learning this stuff, then putting it together in a manner that pleases a lot of different people. Major kudos. I sometimes get the feeling though particularly with chefs who release almost every day, for a number of different devices, that the care and testing leaves something to be desired. Quite often more does not = better as you know

Yeah I tried converting that to an EXT and cooking it in but it didn't work I know it can be done though cos a lot of ROMs have it built in. To be honest I don't really have enough time anymore to dedicate to my own ROM so I'm trying out a few others.

Could you release an additional version with a later build SYS (ie: 23XXX or 28XXX)? A lot of people use 6.5.5 or 6.5.3 and there are no Lite options for those later builds.

i'd love to, but....
as i said i am no cook and i only did it for myself and cared enough to share with anyone who'd love to have it "as is".
also, see the respective later-release ROM threads to see how many bugs are there still and ROM-cooking gurus are eliminating them one by one and it's a long and painstaking process. i have neither time, nor ability to do that.
so i guess this is as much as i can do so far.
I've been using the ROM for a few days now and it is great. Everything works perfect. Bluetooth, tethering, wifi, data connections; it all works great with no bugs Thanks for sharring. I love a clean ROM.

very good!
Well I think I have ran the gamet of tezts and this ROM is perfect. It is fast and stable trimmed down well but still offering everything a user needs. I am on AT&T in the states and it works perfect. The only thing I cant figure out is how do I shut of the vibration when using the on screen key board? And can I add a picture mail program to my device? Would it function properly and could you recommend one?

that would be by manually editing registry key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\TFLOSettings]
"ApVibrationOn"=dword:00000000
it is 1 by default, change it to 0 and you are all set

this here i am not sure what you mean?
whatever you add (install) SHOULD function properly, if it would have on a stock ROM,
as i have not made any changes to remaining ROM bits
edit: if you open Albums and select any picture You want, it will open in full screen, tap it, and 4 icon menu comes up, 3rd from the left with 2 arrows > tap this one and there is an option *mail*.
select the account (i would use email) and voila! is that what you were looking for?
Thanks Aziraphale_l I was talking about MMS. I want to send and receive picture mail with text messaging. Right now I cant send or recieve pictures except with email. But of course my friends do not have pda phones so we use MMS picture mail.
I was guessing this is what you said you removed. I looked for arcsoft for 6.5 and I see that HTC is now using "HTC Message" so I will go look for that. Thanks again.
Maybe this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624375

HTC messaging, which I understand handles MMS functionality in our devices, has evolved into... well, something I did not like any more, so it had to go.
I personally don't use MMS, so it is no big deal for me.
Your ArcSoft link below - I see no reason why it will not work, give it a try? You can then share Your findings with the rest of us.
P.S. Battery life on this ROM is the best I have ever seen!
I have tried a dozen ROMs and I usually stick with them for a month or so I guess. They are either lite with bugs or heavy with eye candy and bugs. So far I haven't had a single issue with yours. I think many developers get in to much of a hurry. I appreciate the great job you did on this.
I notice today that to get from one task to another, one program to another or one event to another I use fewer steps because everything is simple and functional. Thanks again.
I cooked in Arcsoft_MMS_5_2_8_45 on mine, after pulling out HTC Messaging, if I remember rightly it worked but it's very rare I use MMS anyway. If you install it afterwards, re-run carrier provisioning (or whatever it's called ... where it sets up your network settings automatically) and it should configure Arcsoft for ya.
Right now I'm running EnergyROM 23xxx from 1st of May but battery is suffering and it crashes a bit, not mega fast either. It is a nice flashy ROM tho I used to hate 23xxx and much prefer 21xxx but lately I'm kinda undecided.
Thanks for the haptic feedback registry edit; works great.

1.Rom does not have any theme?
Choose the one you like. I recommend Condor GT black. Search on the forum you will get the link
2.Rom does not have any performance drivers?
Choose the one that you feel works best for you.
I highly recommend installing one of the drivers available from here,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442712
I suggest neo_2007_3, but the roms works well with other drivers as well.
GFX boost is also great but it also drains battery a lot faster.
3.It does not have browser apart from IE?
You choose, which browser you want to use. Opera is highly recommended, but you can also go with sky fire, bolt, etc.
4. Some useful softwares.
Add Call history tab to manila
Touch InCall tweak
BsB Tweaks
HD Tweak

My Story:
Well i loved the chef who created great roms, but i always felt that, i am better off without all the crap is loaded on it.
I wished there was a way, I could just install stuff that I want. Thats when I decided, i need to built my own rom.
Journey so far has not been that good, hundreds of flashes and bugs still continue.
Some chefs were helpful, and some chefs behavior was so bad, made me feel like really, its just a damn rom you build, you are not god.
Also these chef forget, that what they are, is because of us, who follow them and praise them like addicts.
But not the entire community is bad. xda for me stands for sharing, growing and enjoying. And I wish community grows always.
Data Services in settings tab doesn't work
A lot of the other settings don't work either, in ms office there's no word or excel just onenote
Sounds like a good idea - there's always so much stuff on cooked roms I never use.
I have downloaded and will give this a go tomorrow - thansk for sharing.

This is a strip out rom.
You need to install office and other softwares by urself.
I will try to compile a list and post it here, but in the meanwhile please use search button.
I am looking to resolve the error asap, however, other things wok on the rom.
as an alternative i suggest using,
by click start--> settings...
for anything you need to change.
data services = settings--> connections -->account manager.
click on top bar then under notification window click battery icon for changing display and screen settings...
Dialer
I cant make a call
Try to dial and nothing happen
I cant figure out is it the ROM or something i did
I will see, and update.
Otherwise fast, smooth and best memory management
Thanks
I made hard reset and dialer working perfectly
I am downloading my stuff one by one to find out what cause this problem
I am so sorry, its great rom
i am using the rom on my phone and the dialer works perfectly.
i just had some issues when cookie monster was installed, the dialer just lagged.
i unistalled cookie monster and will test it.
your rom is fast and good but the home button is not working . when you daill the talk ,end call and the keypad are big
if you can make 21903 build it will be good
thanks
home button is not working? can you give more details coz i am using the rom and it is working for me.
regarding dialer being big, i tried using different dialers in my beta, but, it used to lag after call is dc. this is the best dialer i can use.
i will certainly work on other 21**, 23** versions, once i get more time.
Found the reason
Dear shah1237:
Dialer is perfect till i made contact restore, whatever the Prog (PIM, Sprite and SPB) then dialer went crazy:
-no call history
-network resetting
Please give solution that your ROM is very good and improved amazingly
Thanks
Update: the same happen even without restoring contacts, once new contact saved and dialed, the problem there
I think its due to cooked dialer.

very good job thank u.i put the graphics but i dont see any change, the same as before i install it.i would see any different somewhere or no?
but it is very good job
thank you very much.
i hope i succeeded in delivery a rom that users like me want.
i really have not done any benchmarks so cannot provide support for installing drivers.however i do feel, the drivers increase the overall performance, even though impact is not visible to the naked eye.And CFC manila is certainly fast, so i don't knw how much more responsive the UI can be.

[TMOUS]wwe|sept 4 2010|stock 2.13~lite~platinum|online|

Hi All!
This is a stock 2.13 Tmobile Usa Rom that I created with Nibbley15's help. It fixes the unsensitive touchscreen for those who had this issue by using the touch drivers from the 2.10 rom. Please post your experiences. You need to HARDSPL your phone before flashing. I am not responsible for any bricked phones. I have tested this rom and it is 100% working on my hd2.
The only way to completely fix the touchscreen sensitivity is to install this rom because you cannot edit the drivers while you are using the rom. It is like changing the tires on a moving car ...wont work out.
**MAKE SURE TO HARDSPL YOUR PHONE BEFORE FLASHING** Read how to do it here.
This Rom will come in three versions-Regular, Platinum, and Lite. The regular rom is the stock Tmobile 2.13 Rom with only 2.10 rom touch drivers added and some tweaks for stability. The Lite version is the stock Tmobile 2.13 rom with 2.10 touch drivers and most unneeded preloaded software removed. Here is a list below for the changes in it:
remove blockbuster, bnereader, mobitv, slacker radio, telenav, stock games (demos)
replace htc messaging with two different versions (thanks to G-ThGraf and Pyrorob)
update Microsoft MyPhone
replace stock compass with dutty's compass (same thing as stock...just the set destination feature in the international hd2 added)
I will give a link to download all the cabs for most of the stuff I remove in case someone wants some of the software.
I recommend using this tool to backup all your contacts, texts, etc...I DO NOT recommend using tools such as spb backup because they tend to backup the registry and core system files that may have bugs as well
If you would like even more sensitivity or are still having problems, then download zim's touchscreen cab, install and soft reset. Works like a charm. Here is the link: Touchscreen Cab
**REGULAR ROM**
The link to the regular rom is here:
http://hotfile.com/dl/49273353/743b7b7/2.13_rom_with_2.10_drivers.nbh.html
***UPDATE 07/09/2010-Regular rom with cfc compression for speed and 2016 messaging client***
you can download this rom here
**LITE VERSION**
The link for the lite version with 2018 messaging is here.
Some users have reported bugs with the messaging client in the 2018 messaging rom. Your experience may be different but its just a heads up
The link for the lite version with regular messaging is here.
This rom has been tested and it is 100% working.
**Platinum Version**
This rom can be found here.
Heres what was changed:
removed tmobile stock unneeded apps.
added palringo im
added vibrate configurator (thanks earth jumper)
added cht 1.8.5 (thanks Co0kieMonster)
added 2016 messaging client (thanks G-ThGraf)
added 3d driver set for performance (thanks chainfire)
added bsb tweaks (thanks makeveral)
added dutys task manager
added backlight toggle (thanks react)
changed default lockscreen layout (thanks JayceOoi)
changed dialer (thanks akira99)
changed taskbar (thanks dafunk2)
changed icon looks (thanks Lechux)
updated Microsoft MyPhone
4 Column Start Menu
Added Registry Editor
added custom keyboard (thanks dafunk2)
Compressed rom with cfc compression for added speed and performance
Removed all languages except English to save space
Screenshots of this rom are below.
many thanks to our community here at xda and elracing21 for helping me with ideas for this rom
**I have only added tweaks for stability and a couple of tweaks for speed. This is because some users are reporting lots of bugs with the registry tweaks pre applied. I have included a registry editor in the rom and here are a few links for tweaks that I normally used on my hd2. they really maximize battery life and give amazing performance ...see what works for you:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=629388
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=585729
**
**if when you start it up for the first time, the quicklinks on the home screen have dead icons, then this is not a problem. Just remove the quicklinks and everything should be fine. This issue should be fixed in the next version I release. still working on it **
[/B]
You will need the Rom Update Utility found here.
I also recommend using the 2.10.50.19 or the 2.12.50.02 radio for optimal battery life. They can be found in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=669733&page=11this thread. Just click the link in the first post on that page.
**Remember that if you have a TMOUS HD2, only flash radios that are xx.xx.50.xx. The xx.xx.51.xx radios are not compatible will probably brick your phone**
Please perform a hard reset after flashing.
This is my first time ever working on a rom...so please leave some feedback
Cabs for stock software that was removed in the lite and platinum can be found here.

Hi I'll be trying this rom on thursday, been too busy at work up until now but I would gladly love to have a stock rom w/o uneeded apps and programs that just take up memory and storage space. As long as you dont get rid of the goodies.
You should probably list down the apps and programs you wish to delete on your next rom so the community could give some input.
Just my opinion. Good job tho, will post my feedback for your rom soon.
Thanks for taking the time to make this. I think I'll probably end up waiting for the stock 2.13 version with the extra T-Mo crapware stripped out.
Some suggestions for stuff to strip out/change:
- Cook in the older 2.10 touch drivers for smoother scrolling (already done)
- Replace stock digital compass with Dutty's version (this one includes the "set location" button)
- Remove Blockbuster
- Remove Telenav
- Remove paid games like Ferrari, Millionaire, Guitar Hero, Prince of Persia
- Leave Transformers in since the app itself so tiny
- Cook in new HTC Messaging 2015 or 2016. See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=700495
- Replace old version of MyPhone with the new one
- Replace old version of Marketplace with the new one
- Remove Barnes and Noble (or keep it if enough people want it)
- Remove MobiTV
- Cook in Cookie's home tab (or maybe by doing things like this we're moving away from the stock idea, up to you)
We can all collectively expand/trim down this list as needed, but this should be a pretty good start hopefully

Yeah the new messaging is great for sure, amazing improvement over the stock one.
Btw I think there's a cab for mobitv floating around so it could easily be installed afterwards, I would imagine most people don't use it. But it's your ROM of course, so include it if you like
I'm really looking forward to this ROM!!
This sounds exactly like the ROM I cooked for my wife. I put the old driver from a previous ROM, removed the crapware and added a few tweaks.

Dude I've been wating for this for a long time. I've tested so many roms without the crapware but none close to stock. I know this is your rom and you are doing the actual work. But I do have some suggestions. This would be my dream rom . Here goes.
Remove These Apps:-
Blockbuster (cab is available)
Transformer (cab is available)
Barnes and Nobles (cab is available)
MobiTv (cab is available)
Ferrari GT (Demo)
Millionaire 2010 (Demo)
MobiTV (Demo)
Prince of Persia (Demo)
Slacker Radio (cab is available)
Telenav (Subscription Based)
Tetris (Demo)
Transformers (cab is available)
Thats just my wish but cant wait to see what you do. Im sure its going to be nice.
if this is bug free i will definitly switch to this.
1: if you make a stripped version, are you going to get rid of vvm and gmaps, those i find very useful. also mobitv since i would like the option to use it if i need to.
2: are the touch drivers the only thing you change so far? everything else is the stock?
Can u pls share the ext package list with versions?
Pls do write abt the software that u've removed n icluded... n waht ur future plans for upgrade are....

I'll make a list sometime today and post. I just need to find out which apps have cabs in case someone wants to reinstall them. Future upgrade will depend on what the community wants...but I do plan on making future roms that are more stable and have some registry tweaks to boost performance
I can probably get this rom out some time in the next couple of days if I find a good backup software for all my sms's so I can test the rom...any ideas ppl?

I've had this ROM installed for about a day now. This morning I also upgraded to CHT1.8.5. I have yet to experience a single hiccup. Everything is extremely smooth as far as touch and scrolling is concerned. I just installed it on my wifes phone and will continue to report back with issues if I can find any.
Well done, and thank you very much for creating this rom!

So far, here is what I thought about changing in the new rom:

replace stock compass with dutty's compass

[ROM] [WWE] [6.5.3] [28244] [Clean] [v1.10] [2011/02/03] Twinge's ROM

Hello Everyone,
This is a ROM I have been working on over the past month or so and I have finally got it to the point where I feel it is reliable and polished enough to let others try. I built this ROM because I wanted one that was:
- Quick
- Reliable
- Small
- Free from TouchFlo and the Panel Manager
After some work this is what I have come up with. It is a reasonably clean install with some basic packages I could not live without. I haven't cooked in a lot of stuff that I can easily add with CABs, but did include a couple packages that are a pain for me to configure the way I like them from a CAB like Total Commander or that are very small like the HTC Audio Booster and Radio. The X Pannel Button is linked to Microsoft Task Manager so you have a quick access to a task manager at any time. Most of the parts of the ROM, for example the Dialer and CHome use the stock from the SYS it was cooked with. If you want to change things like these it should be as easy as installing your favorite CAB after flashing. The kitchen for the ROM is included so if you want to make changes you can re-cook my ROM with your own changes.
Flashing:
1) Ensure you have Hard-SPL on your X1 or you will destroy it.
2) Wipe your device with Task29.
3) Flash kovsimg using the SD or ActiveSync Method.
4) Hard Reset your device (press and hold the Right and Left softkeys and hit, but do not hold, the power button)
5) Finish the first boot and initial setup. Your X1 will reset itself when this is complete.
6) Once reset is complete you are done!
Reporting bugs:
- If you find any bugs please post them here.
- If you did not Task29 before flashing or Hard Reset after flashing please do that before posting a bug report.
- Indicate how I can reproduce the bug. If I cannot get the problem to occur then I cannot fix it.
- Don't report things that you want to be cooked in but are not as a bug. If I didn't add a particular application it is likely because I did not want it there or it is very easily installed from a CAB.
Changelog:

can you put pictures of your rom?
thank you so much for the Rom, this is exactly what i've been looking for.
downloaded and flashed, will report back after some typical usage and testing.
A picture would help. And clean as in the build is stock-like or its just a name?
And 28244 is the new build?
So is it WinMO 6.5 or 6.5.x?
This is perfect! Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

It's 6.5.3 build 28244. It's one of the cleanest WM6.5.3-ROMs I've found so far. The only thing that I miss is the HTC USBtoPC PopUp. There's no CAB for it, and it's really handy.

Screen shots would help..and also, this is the Titanium version, am I right?? Can there be another 1 without the Titanium...its pretty bad..THANX!
@ circleofomega
yes, it defaults to Titanium but you could easily change that after first boot.
I've been using this rom for a few hours (with Radio 1.16) and it is pretty light and fast. After cold boot, free RAM is around 145 mb. Battery life is also on the better side of the roms I've tested (with the best one being Christian's 5.723 Clean) and is around 1 percent of battery life, every 2 hours.
As for the screenshots, I dont think it's really needed, this rom is Clean as in Stock and minimally altered, so the look is the standard WM Titanium.

Thanx a lot man....wil flash it anytime soon,,,
Just to answer any questions/comments so far,
- I have never done screen shots on WM but when my time permits I will look into how it is done and try to get some up for people to see.
- Build is 28244, the recent release from DFT.
- WinMO version would be 6.5.3 (this is the large finger firendly version with the start menu on the bottom left).
Information
Hello, It's nice to see another developer who built the clean rom..
I found bug or something very distrubing me,
- There is lag time when i type sms n this always happen.
i have installed sms lag fix that i found in this forum n restart but nothing happen.a lag time is always happen when i type sms....
Please help me. thx
where to find working dialer skin (like this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6424107&postcount=1098)....
Fantastic Rom
I just wanted to say this has to be one of, if not the, fastest and most stable roms i have used. I have searched for ages looking for a 100% clean rom, and this is as close to it as anyone will get. At first boot, uses less ram than official R3a. amazing stuff Twinge, keep it up. Since Willy's X1 got stolen and he wont be updating, i thought i was stuffed...
Downloading now - I'm really looking forward to it - I was really hoping for a lite/clean ROM without Panels but a Task Manager instead, with the 1% driver installed and some of those other nice things like Lauretti's Roms have - but hopefully without the iGO8 crashes that seem to always happen lately. Here's hoping
It's so much nicer to be able to work from a base like this rather than having to do all those customizations manually on each update/hardreset - thank you
Thanks a lot,
Peter
Strange thing happened today - I received several new messages (SMS) but "Text Messages" states I haven't. I can read all messages with SMS-Chat (alternative application) but the standard SMS-application always says "0 items"...
Budisupriadi - Start>Settings>Personal>Input>Word Completion and then set to Suggest after 4 letters, suggest 4 words, deselect "Add a space after word" and deselect "Enable Auto Correct". I have always done this on every rom I use to help reduce/eliminate lag during text input (not just SMS) and it seems to make a big difference. If it works for you, or anyone else reading this, let me know and I will make these the default options in the next version.
Sirkula - Those skins look to be for a HTC dialer of some sorts. I don't beleive the built in WM6 dialer (the one I use in this ROM) is even skinnable. You would want to look for a dialer that is skinable. Maybe one from the X2 or another HTC phone. CABs should be available in the X1 forums, I remember I used the X2 dialer for a bit and got the CAB here. It looked prettier but did't perform as well as I wanted to I reverted back to the reliable default WM one.
FezzFest - Are you saying that the number of new Text Mesagges on the Titanium home screen doesn't update? If that is correct can you see them with the default SMS client or do they not show when you use that? I am not sure where to even look since you are using a 3rd party SMS app I don't know how that affects the fuction of the ROM and I don't know how to re-produce the problem. Has this issue happened to you (or anyone else reading this) without this SMS-Chat installed?
Just read this thread and am definately tempted to try it out but can't until next week (too many commitments at the moment).
The reason i've replied... for screen shots do a search for MyMobiler which is free and will give you good screen grabs on the desktop (when connected to activsync on USB)
I've been using this rom for 2 days now and I must say its very light and fast and its kind of refreshing to use titanium, haven't used it for a long time and I managed to configure it the way I like it but I can't find working dialer cuz default one is ugly ....tried X2 dialer but it messes up top task bar...I know you are trying to keep it as clean as possible but you must do something about that dialer ...
