Wireless N on Droid X - Droid X Android Development

Is there a way to enable wireless n on the dx now that we have root. Just curious cause i did it on my droid incredible and i would like to have it on this beastly device.

X already has N? =p

So its already enabled?
Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk

Yes, N is enabled right out of the box. Problem is the wifi drivers are kinda wonky so you won't get the full speeds from wireless N.

Ok cool i was wondering cause it does go kinda crazy sometimes and wanna be slow but thanks for the replies thanks guys.

It would be nice to be able to select Wireless G instead of Wireless N. I've noticed that the Droid X has issues with some dual band Wireless N Routers like my DGL-4500.

Good info. I was wondering the same thing! Thanks

I haven't been able to beat the speeds that I was getting with my Droid. And no, the bottleneck is not my router.

Que hot how to lower ping using wireless tether?

Hey I've been playing cod2 online a lot on my computer lately and I was wondering if there was anything I could do to lower my ping usually it stays under 300 but evryonce in awhile it'll randomly jump above 500 and the ping police get me and I get kicked of the server so I was wondering if there were any tweaks I could do to wirless tetherfrom Google like changing frequencys exc
BTW I'm Mr. Melee on alteriwnet if anyone wants to.hit me up.

Wow. You can tether COD over your phone? Hot damn that's a good speed! I get crap over here. :'(
Yea its actually not that bad lol

Yeah, well I envy your speed brother. As for the tether, I don't think nothing can be done besides hardware check and phone positioning. There might be something out there that, if installed, would make your wireless access card run more effeciently with the rooted wireless tether program, but I'm not sure.
However, in your search you DO find a solution, let us know! I'll be having this Hero until a dual core comes out, so I got plenty of months ahead!
Will do

I am experiencing same problem. my PSP Vita does not see my hotspot but other devices have no problem. I have Wireless Tether 3.1 build 11 on Samsung Epic Touch 4g.

I have this issue too but I have a Motorola Photon. I hear that the PSV only accepts non ad-hoc WiFi connections or something like that. If I switch on my Mobile Hotspot that came built into the OS, then the PSV sees that just fine and connects to it but the internet does not work because my carrier does not allow it. So we basically need to use an app that creates a hotspot just like the phone firmware does it seems. Does anyone know of one? My phone is rooted.
I've gotten my phone to teather my old psp 1000 with the Optimus and softap settings on so I'm assuming this will work for the vita too

Wife and 4G

When I turn my wife the 4g icon is still there but the connection arrows are missing. Any reason why it's still there? Also it doesn't seem to pick up wifi signal as strong as other devices. Thoughts?
Sent from my Moto X
Tell us more about your "wife". Lol. What exactly is 4g code for?
Anyway, I think the signal cluster is an att Verizon thing. The icon never disappears. I think it's all about marketing. 'Look at me I've got 4g.'

Dammit I thought I fixed both of those. Haha. Thanks though. That's kinda what I thought it was.

Wifi tethering on Verizon Kitkat??

Just ordered a Moto X for Verizon and I need to find information about tethering this phone to my pc. I use this alot because I have unlimited data through VZW... So it would be really nice to continue using it.

As of right now you'd need to root (then use WiFi Tether, or make the necessary changes to use the stock tethering). FoxFi doesn't work w/ the Moto X on KitKat at the moment. No word on when it will, but it may be related to a cert issue in KitKat.
Root is no issue for me... I think the longest any of my phones have gone without root access is maybe 6 days from purchase... I've always rooted my phones. First thing I researched when ordering the X was whether or not they had root for kitkat

try using easy tether ... and foxfi has updated and works on kitkat on my s4... get the add-on and key, and you're golden :good:
You didn't define whether the phone you ordered is a Developer Edition. Because as far as I know only the DE can be rooted on Verizon.

Roam control

Anybody else not able to use rc with the moto x. Its driving me nuts. I really need it to work. It does nothing when I hit roam only. I am rooted with stock rom and xposed + Gravitybox. Thanks.

I can't believe I'm the only one who uses this utility...
Sent from my XT1056 using Tapatalk
Roaming? Like when I gotta pay more cause I'm out of my area and it picks up other network towers?
Yeah...I gotta pay a lot extra if that happens.....disabled. lol.
I doubt anyone uses roam only. You may actually be the first.
Unless you're talking something else entirely.
Good luck tho.

Nah. there's an app called roam control. It allows you to force roam. For sprint users its a must because they roam on Verizon's towers. I need it to work. Any help would be appreciated

What update are you referring to?
Update to roam control
I am familiar with roam control. If you read the app description, it specifically states it works with a few specific devices only. Moto x is not one, and I can confirm. Not a possibility, sorry. We can put this to rest now...
