Left out - Quantum Accessories

who else is a quantum owner? i feel left out on cases and other accessories.

I'm one here, but I agree accessory support seems to be rather lacking. The touch pro 2 I came from had plenty, but this isn't quite the case...
Jason

I bought my wife one and preordered a case and screen saver. Ebay!

I totally agree sometimes i do feel other Windows Phones have an advantage over us but we are the only ones with a full keyboard

Bestskinsever.com now selling Focus skins

Hey Hey,
Just wanted to give folks a heads up, Bestskinsever.com is now selling full phone skins for the Samsung Focus.
I just ordered one, and it was only $US 6.99 plus $2.00 shipping. You can't beat the price. I ordered from them for my last phone (Samsung Impression) and I was very happy with the product.
Just thought folks would like an alternative to the $30 price point for the InvisiShields of the world for what I feel is a good option. Check it out if you like.
ps - For the record I am in no way affiliated with this company!! Feel silly saying so, but there are many spam wary people out there

I bought a skin for mine from Gadget Guard (like an Invisishield) via ebay, but paid about $13. This seems like a pretty good deal.
Does it have the same tackyness that these types of skins have? Mine does and it definitely affects the feel of the touch screen. It's something I'll probably have to get used to but i'm considering just using the side and back skins - I'm glad these people offer a body-only option.

Yoobao Similar Case for N7???

I'm not sure if you guys are familiar with the brand Yoobao, but the make really good cases for the iPads (yes, I know, an Apple product. blah blah blah). My GF currently has it on her iPad2 and the fit is awesome.

Anywho, I was wondering if anybody ran into a similar case like that of the Yoobao for the Nexus 7??
I've seen the YooMee, and frankly its not what I'm really looking for.

Don't see anything for the Nexus 7, only stuff for the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0
they make cases for the Galaxy Tab 7.0 which has similar dimensions. I wonder if it would fit...
Yea, but Belkin is way overpriced and their products are crap
Finally got an email from YooBao. Be on the lookout for next month, they make really good cases and the fit is phenomenal.
Dear XXXXX,
Nice days!
Thanks for your interests in Yoobao products and sorry for our late reply.
The case for Google Nexus 7 will come out next month.
When it comes out, you can see it on our website.

Funny I just replaced my 10 year old belkin 54 g wifi router not because it didn't work anymore, but because I now have a roommate and want more bandwidth for the home network. Guess 10 years of solid reliable service is crap, huh?

The case is displayed on their wbdsite. Looks like smaller version of the good Ipad case.
Had a yoobao case on my sensation. The case is actually flame resistant and honestly had a great fit and look.
Looks like the case is out:
http://www.aliexpress.com/product-f...Case-for-google-nexus-7stand-wholesalers.html
$30 with free shipping. A much better deal than the Official case for the same price.
also available on eBay for $5-10 more.
Has anyone used Aliexpress or Alibaba? I think they're mostly direct to retailer/wholesaler shop out of China.

oh, and does anyone know if these will have the velcro strip on the inside to keep the flap that holds the tab in place from slipping out? I LOVED the Yoobao case for my iPad, except for the lack of this feature.
I looked a lot before I settled on the Yoobao case for my iPad and haven't seen a nicer case. Their N7 case looks like the same design which is great. The only thing about my iPad case is that it is a version 3 meaning it took 3 tries before they ironed out the issues. Version 3 of the iPad case corrected some issues with the smart on features as we'll as add magnets to hold the front flap in place.
I suspect that this N7 cover may not have the smart on/off feature yet and if they follow foot steps of the iPad they will probably produce a v.2 in short time with the smart on/off. At $30 plus, I'd wait til they produce one with the smart feature.

It's actually $30 with free shipping, so just flat $30. I think it's a much better deal than the official case which costs the same (if you add shipping).
I'm actually assuming that they've incorporated all the things that they learned from the various versions of the other cases and implemented them into the first version of their newer cases. I know that my Yoobao ipad case had the smart on/off but not the magnet to keep it closed. It didn't fling open though. The one feature it lacked was the thin velcro strip to keep the flap that kept the ipad in the case from slipping so it constantly needed readjusting. Did yours have this?
I just ordered one of these from mobile fun.co.uk
amazing case brilliant quality here it is its out and in stock but be quick they sell very very fast

Have you received it yet? any chance you could post pictures on what the fit is like?
Some of the pictures they use seem to be of a galaxy tab so i'm suspicious about the fit.. lol

My Version 3 Yoobao iPad case did not have the velcro to hold down the flap, however, I never found the iPad moved around and needing adjustment.
Your assumption about Yoobao incorporating all the things they learned from other cases for the N7 case is sort of right. They actually already have a Revision 2 case for the N7 with a "fixed Sleep/Wake" and Magnetic Closure.
The review from mobile fun.co.uk seems to indicate the case puts the tablet asleep when folded all the way over. Waiting for reviews from here before I take the plunge.
I've just ordered this from the kevikev ebay store. It's cheaper to do that with shipping than to order here in UK. Here's hoping the version 2 has the magnet issue resolved. The case looks very nice.

5 more official Nexus 7 cases priced and on pre-order

Four official Nexus 7 cases and a screen protector. There are prices but no release date as of yet.

Rotating Stand Case
Non-rotating Stand Case
Folio Case
Bluetooth Keyboard Case
Screen Protector
The bluetooth keyboard case looks interesting. I'm wondering how much would it cost..
Edit: "ONLY £79.95"
Mobilefun seems like such a rip off, I don't how they can justify the £39.99 price tag of their folio case...that's $62 for you US folks!!
I imagine over time, the price will come crashing down due to a lack of demand. The prices they have are an absolute joke for what is actually a very average case.
There's always a mark up from the US to the UK, the 8GB Nexus 7 (£160) is the equivalent of $250. It does seem larger for the accessories though, think they're trying to increase their margin.

Good point but even still, from a UK perspective, £39.99 for a folio case (unbranded) is a joke! I don't even think Marware/Case-Mate, Incipio, etc will charge that much!
LOL I love the 'official' - part of the description...
the rotating one and folio - look like the endless ones on ebay.. 'leather' covering the screen..
I would advise people to check ebay before paying that amount for a generic case - no way they are official Asus products..

lol only... half the price of the tablet.
The keyboard case is also the same generic one that's been making the rounds for quite a while. Stamp "genuine" on it (not even "official") and some folks seem to go ape over it.
all of these accessories look the same to what's out already. they will probably cost 2-3x more
I bet these will have the smart cover feature maybe

The cheap $2 cases in eBay have this feature, it's nothing special anymore and even it were, it does not justify these ludicrous prices.
Proof that MobileFun is inflating their claims that these are official, as well as their prices (or perhaps their supplier is fibbing to them?):
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX40691
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX40692
EDIT: My posts about this on the various "news" sites are being deleted, so folks aren't being informed. Hopefully the sites will post an update. I hate to see a retailer get all of this free advertising and make their customers pay inflated prices due to false claims.
I can't imagine using a such a small keyboard.....
The keyboard case definitely looks like an improvement from what's available - thinner, smaller, more solidly built. I can't imagine those are the actual prices they will be sold for in the US - no one will buy a $125 keyboard case for a $250 tablet.

Deciding between these two

So before anyone says, yes I have read reviews. However, I couldn't find a specific review regarding these items. Maybe I'm slow, but I've also been awake now for close to 30 hours. So excuse me. ;p
I am deciding between these two keyboard/case combos:
http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-Keybook-Google-Android-Tablet/dp/B008IEGS2Y/ref=cm_rdp_product
or
http://www.amazon.com/KHOMO-Rotatin...omatic/dp/B0099QZ2BI/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
Particularly leaning towards the khomo, since overall I think I like the design better. Plus it has a higher ratio of 5 stars.
Anybody tried these two and have any opinions on which one to snag? I think the Khomo one fits my style overall..but if it's vastly inferior to the poetic book (which I've seen mentioned here several times) I'll just get that one.
I have the poetic one for the nexus 10. Its nice but the keys around the edge stick on the fake leather sometimes. It can be annoying.
Problem is if you look closely i believe both of those have the same keyboard.
Alright, well either way I just ordered the Khomo one, but with free shipping since I think it's ridiculous to pay half the price of the item for faster shipping. ;p When I receive it, I can throw up a review of it I suppose.
Was going to say the Khomo one is going to be very bulky but I guess you'll find out how much for yourself

I have the first one the poetic. It's ok. Honestly I am going to get a Logitech keyboard for it instead now. The one where the case for the keyboard turns into a stand. The keyboard on the poetic is just way to small. Great for 3 year olds lol

General Just received the Oneplus Pad today

Hands-On Review of the Oneplus Pad -
Firstly, the look and feel of the Oneplus Pad is really premium. Love the design aspect of the pad!
I expected it to be on the heavier side, but it is surprisingly pretty light.
The display size is big but not too big. Feels comfortable to hold.
The Charger Brick that comes with the Oneplus Pad is different from the ones that come with the Oneplus Phones. Looks and feels more premium than usual.
There is Camera Bulge present for the Main (back) Camera but not too big.
The Halo Green color has a Brushed Metallic Glossy finish so it seems to be vulnerable to scratches.
The pad also feels slippery since the Brushed Metallic finish does not provide grip.
The UI feels clean to use, and the Camera quality is pretty decent. Haven't gotten the time to explore much of the device so I will be editing this thread later on (after spending enough time with the pad) to give my views on how well it works.
First Impressions: Would have liked to have other Color Options. But otherwise, So far soo good!
Did you order from the preorder? Just curious, since mine hasn't shipped lol

Received mine yesterday too. OP used UPS to USPS to customer.
Sukked for any real time tracking or altering delivery options, but it arrived exactly according to ETA.
So far exceeds expectations, but to be honest fully expect next upgrade to have UFS 4, LPPDR 5, faster charging, double the ram, quadruple the storage, eSim.
SD, audio jack and IR would be nice extras.
Has full calling and sms capabilities.
Battery life seems outstanding, but let's see later w\ full complement of installs and heavy duty work.
I'll carry a triple Fold version of this to fit in pocket- but without downsizing, maybe just the bezels- instead of cellphone & instead of the present too small Flips \ Folds \ Surfaces.
I work on the phone a lot on the road. I was going to both upgrade 10T to 11 + older tablet to this- but given how good this Tab is (esp. for multitasking), will skip 11 and wait for Fold.
I'm tired of single screens, small type, work on only one thing at a time- foresee the end of single screen electronics.
Phones I would rather they just be cut in half and turned into landscape-oriented super smartwatches.
Highly recommend this Tab. Esp. priced significantly less than a flagship phone.
And it is so thin and light that to those that lug around a laptop everywhere, I recommend they add this. Total weight won't be much more and you can Tether laptop to Tab instead of phone, which will then run much cooler & last longer until charge necessary.
scottlavish:
Thumbs up re #1, 2 & 8.
I like the color. What would you prefer? Blue maybe?
I couldn't help myself. My scratched (from the keyboard case) and dying battery Tab S6 is fading. OnePlus is offering $260 for my 9 Pro (I will miss wireless charging) towards an 11, and purchasing a Pad at a BIG discount. Almost $600 in savings.
I felt I had to. They made me. I really just want the ipad like screen ratio. These skinny wide things don't work for me.
