64gb Micro SD Support - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

Just about to order a class 10 64gb - has anyone tried it with the Xperia T?
Can't see it being a problem because of this but I guess we'll find out ..

I have one in my Mini Pro, works fine (except my phone has to boot twice every time). No reason for it not to work on the T, too.

Wow 64GB memory Card 0.0 What are you going to do with 64gb + 16gb ??

I remember that question. My friend bought a PC nearly 20 years ago with HD 130 MB. Before that I've seen only 20 MB. Yes 20 MB. I've bought Asphalt 7 game. It's over 1GB.

My 64gb micro sdxc is working fine, its formatted as fat32.

Have you filled it above 32GB? When I used my FAT32 formatted 64GB card in my Galaxy Note it worked fine up to the 32GB limit and then wouldn't use the remaining space.
I had to format it as Ext3/4 to get the full space usage!

Got my Xperia T today, and my 64GB (ext4 format) memory card worked a charm. So, even if Fat32 does have a 32GB limit you can access the additional space by formatting as Ext4.

SanDisk Mobile Ultra microSDXC 64GB .....
works fine with TX

Yep .. as OP I can say I now have 90+gb of music / data on my phone & still plenty of space for 13mp pictures :laugh:sweet.

I wonder if anyone tried 128GB. Just out of curiosity.
Also, it's always better to format it as EXT4. Your PC will still be able to access it thanks to MTP but EXT4 allows files over 4GB. For example movies in HD.

I just googled a little, it seems they aren't available yet My bad!

What about speed with the UHS cards ?
Does the Xperia really use the card at UHS speeds ? (like 50+ MB/s copy with usb3)
I mean using an ultra fast card like the sandisk extreme pro series (95MB/s certified) for exemple

I have the 64gb card on my xperia pro and it works fine but formatted it to fat32. I got 59gb free space when i format it and no lags or problem with it.

great news,i will get sandisk 64gb C10

Try filling it over 32GB and see if you can access all the space. Fat32 formats are often problematic and although the OS reports more than 32GB, often only the first 32 is accessible.
If I helped hit thanks!

There is already a thread about upgrading the hard drive, a new thread wasn't needed.
There is also a thread (from Pof) about using Linux to access, and presumably copy, the recovery partition.

I believe this statement is wrong - the recovery partition is just that, a hidden partition on the hard drive. But I'd be just as happy if someone proved you to be correct.
The Snapvue recovery files will be in flash, however.

To keep everything from the original HDD
Hi,
Try to Proceed like a regular HDD, Use Ghost or other aplication to image the original HDD and later, dump the image in a new (and bigger one). So you preserve all. Thats all.

[Q] Problem with 8GB SDHC Card

Since I bought this Multilaser MicroSDHC card (8GB), I have problems with reboots and device crashes. I have just formatted my card, but not yet transmitted to it my data (my x8 now is charging), but I don't think it is the problem. Someone have a solution for my problem?

Hi guys
In fact multilaser products are not the best. I prefer something brands like sandisk or kingston.
There may also be a problem with the speed of the card. (class, is a number that appears in a circle on the card.)
I have a Kingston class 4 card that does not give me any problems. I have a reboot one month ago or more. I have used froyobread since version 12.
I'm also from Brazil. If you need any help, if in my power...

--EDIT--
Encontrei a informação, Classe 2 '-'

I know about this little problems with cards and all Multilaser's products, but I'm desperate for one and, as I am anxiousm, I bought the most cheaper... I had found one Kingston with USB adapter by R$50 (about US$35), and this cost R$55(about US$41), but the Multilaser's one was the only one who I have found in stock. In the box don't says the card class, just say the speed is 11,7MB/s...

You should replace your sd card, I guess. Another thing that might be disturbing is the formatting. How are you formatting? What type? (Fat, fat 32, etc.) Size of clusters (not sure, always use the default)

To tell you the truth, you bought a crappy card. Eighter bring it back and get a decent one (Kingston/SanDisk) or live with the problems you have.
I recently bought MicroSD 8GB 6 Class Silicon Power with crazy 12mb/s write speed. No problems, very fast. I recommend.
I put on SDCard my files again and my problem back! Look this picture:

If I buy a better SDCard, I will can use my x8 perfectly?
PS: I have 5GB of music in my device
Eu pus meus arquivos denovo em meu Cartão SD e meu problema voltou! Olha a imagem:

Sh*t man... I know very well. My card came with my old phone. It's only a 4 class 4 gb card.
Some music, some pictures, some apps and no more free space...
Well, why don't you try to format in windows? Try MiniTool Partition Wizard. I have used that software to make partitions on my SD.
In case of fail, you can try on Android too: Go to configurations=> SD and storage => Unmount SD card => format SD card. In that way you can't create a second partition on sd.
*portugues.
Cara, sei como é. Meu cartão foi herdado do antigo celular, apenas 4 gb. Enche rapidão...
Tenta formatar no windows. Tenta o programa MiniTool Partition Wizard.

you can choose to flash that modem if you want to and still it will stay when flashing other ROMS, but modems work different depending on were you live etc, I running with latest XXLF2 modem and don't want older modem when flashing a ROM
you can find all modems here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671969&page=2
it's not really a problem for me if modem is included, like I said it's easy to replace, but it saves 12mb space and better to let the users flash what modem they feel work best were they live.

THEN, you do not need to call the windows drive "winpe" to install clean.
Connect a usb HUD for a usb pendrive, a mouse and a keyboard.
Start the tablet and press "supr" to enter the bios.
Press "f3" to restore the defaults, then move to the photo and put it in DISABLED so that it does NOT leave the logo of the bios and leave the one of the plate American Megatrends, save and exit, thus YOU SEE when you press the selector of boot or if you enter to The bios.
I downloaded windows installation tool usb windows 10,
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 direct link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209
I have selected that I will install it on a device other than my desktop PC and I have formatted a usb of 16gb with windows 10 and that I can install it on any pc ALONG the tablet.
Power on, on American Megatrends pic push "f7" at the beginning and there will be the boot drive option, choose the USB with the hub for the keyboard and mouse. And as if a pc was, you removed all HDD units and you get one of almost 60GB, you give it to continue and harnessing, to wait.
Then WITH ANOTHER USB already in windows, execute the bat of the installation of the drivers and then you will have the tablet ready and with its perfectly functional drivers.
And with 40 gb hd almost free. D
And it is already clear of course, having an id already used in win10 detects it and if it does not activate the tablet (by its id) is already activated after having taken it from your pc activated to a usb.
IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO DO ANYTHING, IT WILL START IN WINDOWS.

Buenos días, en la opción del boot no me aparece USB, no puedo seleccionarlo, solo aparece UEFI OS, Windows boot manager y disabled, qué puedo hacer?, gracias.
Thank you, you are a genius! My tablet has dual boot again (I installed it next to android, not instead)

Google Home/Nest hub flash method exposed and TOOL REVEALED !!

It's been a while since the initial release of the google home hub but no one knows how the firmware really get's flashed using the hidden micro usb port under the rubber bottom surface.
Well, it's very simple, it uses the Amlogic S905D2G chip ( similar to what cheap tv boxes have ) which means it can be simply flashed with a custom rom via the Amlogic Usb burning tool. In order for it to go into flashing mode you need to hold both volume up and down buttons then plugging the power cable whilst also having the micro usb cable is plugged into a computer.

As you can see the connection is successful meaning that this can truly be flashed but...
There is a small catch, google never reveals pre compiled firmware for these devices meaning you would have to compile it. There was recently an update from which there was a high possibility google was transitioning to a different OS called fuchsia while seamlessly leaving the same UI as the original OS was and hopefully still is android.
Once the drivers are installed, The google home hub can be seen as what is above. before driver install, your computer should've detected it as GX-CHIP
Hope this helps with future development on this little platform as I don't see much going on.

Wrong thread?
Yeah, wrong section, but I don't see a way to delete it. Sorry about that.

Does this apply to other Google Home Speakers, more specifically to the LG WK7 ?

I was hoping to find a way to flash the original firmware on the first gen hub, but there are no roms available anywhere?
Mine has toasted itself - I suspect it got corrupted doing an update and Google can't help me. They say "It's dead Jim!". Has anyone found a valid ROM that I can flash it with and see if I can resuscitate it? TIA
I see that some of you guys are interested in fixing/modifying your device(s), me included.
So I wondered if you may be interested in creating a Github project to help us out eachother.
I definitely would!
Maybe good to know that after the fuchsia upgrade everything has changed. Holding volume up while powering up gives fastboot mode. Volume down gives recovery mode but I don't know what that does.
I flashed a TWRP build over my recovery and now the recovery is broken... Stupid. Anyone wanna try to tinker with the recovery? Maybe try a port scan. Or try volume up or down while in recovery?
Hello - I also have a bricked google nest hub. I removed the bottom. The micro usb socket is connected to the pc. A cdc device was found. more precisely two of them. I have loaded the armlogic driver, but the device is not recognized in the burning program. I would be very interested if someone could generate a recovery file to repair the device. thx martin
My Google Nest Hub bricked itself. I believe it happened when I powered it off while it was booting up.
I can hold 2 keys and get into Recovery mode, but I just get stuck on the "G" screen when trying to reset the device.
I too have a "CDC-Ethernet" device when I plug the micro USB (hidden underneath) into my computer.
I would love to be able to restore a standard ROM, or even a custom one.
I am trying to fastboot my 1st gen Nest Hub, but it looks like it doesn't.
What I do is to keep pressed VOL+ and then I power up the device.
Is that correct?
I desperately need to fastboot it because it looks like something f up the firmware (factory reset has the same behaviour) and it ends up with a white screen loop crash.
Does anyone have a Compiled version of the nest hub software?
any news? I have a google nest hub wotn boot onlyG logo, any solution? factory reset dont resolve the problem
did i find this link? It will be that it is the solution or it is fake http://gofirmware.com/content/google-nest-hub-custom-firmware
do you also have the firmware? Can you download it from your nest hub?

Have you found any firmware? Since my Nest Hub entered a loop mode and stayed in recovery mode so I would like to reinstall the software
Has encontrado algun firmware?
Thought I would drop this here, in theory it would be possible to expand the exploit to affect more models.
Breaking Secure Boot on Google Nest Hub (2nd Gen) to run Ubuntu
