Xylon is fully transformed distribution for Android Devices. It is designed to take full advantage of the device’s hardware and to provide the user pure Android experience. The team is constantly working on making things better for the users and are happy to do so. We, the team, believe that for one to experience the pure taste of Android, he/she should be provided with something which is fast, intuitive and fluid – That’s where we come in – To provide you that. Xylon started as a part of the Fruits & Veggies (FNV) project, a community ROM for the Galaxy Nexus and is now set up individually but it’s roots are based on FNV. remicks, the founder of the FNV – inspired me to build something that would make users love of what they use daily.
P.S This ROM is fully based on FNV though.
Common Daily 'speedy' features.
A thousand better than having a fan page.

Something is wrong with this build (xylon_crespo_012_12-19-2012.zip). I've made clean install twice, and i can't finish even the initial setup, because of the lag (huge lag). It takes more than 10 seconds to switch between languages. I don't know may be it's me, but i change my rom's almost every week, and I've never seen anything like this. Otherwise the first release ( the one from the old thread ) was more than good and smooth, the only problem that I have with it, was the youtube app / youtube player in the browser.

[ROM][23Mar][MB5][364mb] ¤¤ VikingWay v7.1 ¤¤ The Beauty Of TrulyClean And Simple

I have bought a new phone (Xperia Z) so VikingWay for I9300 is now discontinued. I would like to thank everyone that enjoyed VikingWay on the SGS3!

VikingWay is a light & fast rom that focuses on keeping the greatest parts of the stock experience and functionality.
Everything that I consider as bloatware or crap is removed and I personally think it gives the rom an amazing clean feeling.
With all crap removed, VikingWay is among the lightest Samsung firmware based roms avaliable - but fully functional and stable for daily use.
I'm personally NOT that interested in modding the rom like a freak and apply tons of tweaks. I think Samsung did most of it really good!
I just don't like all the extra crap that is forced upon the user. VikingWay leaves you at a truly clean scratch with some "schoolsux touches"!!
Mod whatever you like yourself or enjoy VikingWay just as it is - simple and slim with stock solid quality.
Quick Navigation:
¤ Changelog
¤ Screenshots & banners
Nice Mods: (optional)
¤ Theme mods for 4.1.2 by raubkatze!
¤ JKay Deluxe Framework.
*** I always dedicate time to test my roms on my SGS3 before releasing ***
*** BUT, I take no responsibility if this rom, or the evil snails in your garden, or whatever - kills your phone ***
*** VikingWay rom does NOT include any bootloader or recovery ***
* Doing a full wipe in recovery before flashing rom is always recommended. However, install script willl NEVER wipe your user data.[/INDENT]
1. Download base rom and latest update if there is any!
2. Copy downloaded zip(s) to phone internal/external sd card.
3. Google how to root your SGS3 and install recovery using Odin.
4. Reboot into custom recovery and do a full wipe.
5a. Wipe cache and dalvik if you have a previous version of VikingWay installed.
5b. Full wipe is always recommended for best experience, especially if coming from another rom its necessary!
6. Flash VikingWay rom using latest ClockworkMod recovery and then any updates on top of it.
7. Done & enjoy VikingWay!
By using this rom you accept:
* This rom is cooked by my taste and if you don't like that or miss something, just use another rom!
* l share my personal rom build, I'm no paid supporter and I do not like requests.
* Don't ask when things will be done, I take the time I need and release stuff whenever I feel time is right.
* I update when there is worthy improvements, NOT just to get the latest build number.

For fixes, firmware and more stuff:
Samsung<3, SamMobile, raubkatze and all other guys that enhances the Galaxy experience!
For donating and supporting the future of VikingWay:
You know who you are and you have my thanks! Money goes to next gen phones and Jägermeister shots!
If your name isn't on these lists, but you think it should be - send me a PM!
* Samsung Keyboard does not auto-correct words. Contact Samsung support and tell them!
(Problem is across all Samsung 4.1.2 Jellybean roms!)
* Home button wake and exit current app. (Use power button or Smart Stay for now).
(Also a problem across all roms when S Voice is disabled.)
This rom is based on stock Samsung Jellybean firmware!
By my experience rom runs overall great, but I'm just a single person and I don't try out all the stuff you might do.
If you find something that is not caused by you trying to modify something, provide feedback to make this rom better! I don't say no to a possible soultion either!
* Added optional packages for v7.x: SMemo, AllShare, Accuweather Widget, Samsung Account with sCloud.
VikingWay v7.1
- Pretty much v6 style.
- Rebase on XXEMB5 firmware!
- XXEMB5 modem and kernel.
- Rom size reducement.
- 1% battery mod and black statusbar.
- Removed some more crap. Thanks to Theshawty!
- Removed another lib that proved to be useless.
- Fixed rom default wallpaper.
- Reduced Settings.apk size.
- Some changes due to poll feedback.
- Added missing Android 4.2 clock widget, that was included in previous versions!
- Other minor changes and polish.
* v7.x is the last VikingWay series based on 4.1.2. VikingWay v8 WILL BE Android 4.2 based and if it takes months for Samsung to release it I will wait months!
Previous changelog:
VikingWay v6
- Rebase on XXEMA2 firmware!
- Stock XXEMA2 kernel and modem. (DXELK1)
- Everything is now stock exept the extended power menu mod.
- Chrome now is default rom browser. (Samsung browser removed.)
- Complete stock theme just to be stock. (Green toggles in sunlight really proved the reason to switch back from grey toggles.)

* Mod what you like yourself & enjoy v6.

* Includes v5.1 changes.
* No wipe needed.
VikingWay v5.1 Update
- Added modded phone with call recording and no incr. ringtone.
- Removed 2 unneeded apps.
* Flash over v5 base, no wipe needed!
VikingWay v5
- Rebase on official XXELLC 4.1.2 firmware!
- XXELLC kernel and XXELL4 nordic modem.
- When screen just turn off home button does not exit current app anymore!
- Flashlight on lockscreen returns! (Hold home button on lockscreen.)
- Exit and kill current app by holding menu. If on home - launcher will not be killed, only search as usual!
- Samsung bootanimation just to get the "complete feeling". (Custom bootanimation is so easy to install anyway.)
- Hold volume button to skip track when screen is off. (Tested with stock music player.)
* Solid and clean as usual, v5 is the best rom build I ever made.
* Flash over v3-v4 should work, but to get optimal performance a full wipe is recommended as usual!
* md5 info moved to download section.
VikingWay v4.1 Update
- Centered the statusbar clock and made it a little bit brighter.
- Made the statusbar icons brighter as well.
- Added Extended Power Menu.
* No wipe needed, flash on top of v4 base.
VikingWay v4 (XXELLA)
- Rebase on official Samsung 4.1.2 XXELLA firmware!
- Kernel and modem that came with XELLA firmware.
- Grey quicktoggles again.
- Black statusbar.
- Removed the 2 new chat bubbles, old modded ones looks better.
- Removed another lib that seems to be unused & useless.
- Nexus custom bootanimation.
- Some other minor changes I don't remember.
* This rom does not include the new bootloader!
* I didn't flash the new bootloader yet while testing & running this, just so you know
99% stock theme as you can see Pictures will be updated when/if there is any major graphical changes!

You know that this is not allowed
Why post when everything isn´t finished?
Closed, "coming soon" threads are not something we welcome on XDA, they tend just to be filled with nonsense and fulfill no purpose.
A thread should be posted once a download link is ready.
Once a link is ready, PM me and I will reopen the thread.
Edit: Thread reopened

am new to android, so just a quick question. I dont know about the different ways to flash a rom(dont know what odin is, BTW I use mac).
So, download rom-> transfer to SD-> wipe data-> install from SD-> wipe cache/delvik cache-> Reboot? Would this work? Thats the only way I know
Wipe data, cache, dalvik and then flash

Based on my collaboration with djmatt604 and the work on my existing Mackay ROM, we bring you the AOKP experience Infamous-style!
This ROM is based on the AOKP jellybean 4.2 sources
To this we added:
-The CM device & vendor trees, adapted to our needs
-Mackay kernel
-Some CM/AOKP cherries
-A unique set of homemade patches
-A tailor-made gapps included in the zip
Changelog version 1.7.4
-AOKP source code 8-May-2013
-TRDS code, including a Dark UI toggle
-Added toggle ribbon
-Added Hidden Statusbar Pulldown
-Latest Mackay kernel
Installation instructions:
-Reboot to recovery (CWM or TWRP)
-Make a backup of your current ROM
-Wipe system
-Factory reset
-Flash the zip (no need to flash gapps separately, as it is included in the ROM)
-Reboot and enjoy!
Don't try to do a dirty flash or restore system settings using Titanium, both cause bootloops. Trust me, I have had the honour of testing this for you!

Thank you, your roms are truly appretiated.
Awesome kasper!! Your 4.2.2 ROMS are the best . I´m going to try it now!
Just one question : Why you don´t include scripts for init.d or tweaks for build.prop or sysctl?
Hope you continue with your work cause it´s impressive.

I don't believe in scripts to improve overall performance...maybe in specific use-cases it can help, but not in general.
Well its booting faster since we can disable bootanimation,we are able to customize ui as we like,i think its great,i dont know though something, can aokp for p970 be updated when cm is updated too, even if cm10.1 gets changes for our phone spesifically?

CM10.1 and AOKP are separately updated. Important updates in CM are often quickly ported to AOKP. I use a common device tree for building Mackay ROM and AOKP, so all p970-specific changes for CM are also applied for AOKP.
I have to say that´s really good. Smooth and fast. I love more Paranoid ROMS but these is supperbbb! Great work
Oh yeah are there performance options anywhere or is aokp disabled them?

Same issues as all JB4.2 ROMs (battery drain relatively high, camera (especially video) buggy).
Hello, does this Rom fix the several problems with the Bluetooth or does it include all bugs from CM?
It is nice to see that some people continue to develop for our OB.

I meant JB4.2 for p970, not JB4.2 in general. On my Galaxy S, both Mackay ROM and Infamous AOKP work perfectly fine.
Wifi tether doesnt work, but usb tether is just fine. It looks fast, but lets give it a shot after instaling more apps.

So the problem is that lg has not released the appropriate drivers or that cm devs dont have time for p970?I understood that u meant p970 i just wonder why p970 has that many bugs compared to others.

Going to give this a try on my RAZR M. Thanks!
Flashed it over and it went great. Obviously because of the kernel that is used on most 4.2.2 ROMs there are slight issues that just can't be addressed until a new improved kernel hopefully comes out. One is example as programs like Voxer won't be able to properly work with the mic. But, as far as this ROM it's pretty awesome with all the screen space it gives and easy way to adjust options.
is it base on cm10 or cm10.1?
if it cm10.1 based rom, is the laggy problem solved?

The lag in cm10.1 has been fixed as of 5/24/13. Dhacker released a new build with a new kernel on that day. So the lag is history.

I'm guessing this is a CM10.1 (JB 4.2.2) b/c the OP says camcorder is not working - but I have yet to download this ROM.

Apparently, you haven't used any of the recently updated CM10.1 builds. They are as good as CM10.
Been running this for a day or so and it's by far the best 4.2.2 ROM out there right now for the M. Good work!!
I have flashed many before on the unlocked razr m.
I followed the instructions, wiped, wiped, format/wipe system. then installed rom, it reboots and stuck in bootloop on boot animation. i let it sit for 10 minutes and it wont go past. any ideas? am I missing a step here?

Wipe, then reboot recovery and mount system. Mine sat for a few minutes on first boot. Did you download and install GAPPS too?
This thing is running smooth. Smoothest 4.2.2 ROM I've run.

Wipe cache, dalvik, FDR (wipe system, if you want, but I never do), reboot recovery, and mount system. Then flash away. Just a heads-up, if you flash TWRP 2.5, which Matt just posted, the wipe option will wipe cache/dalvik and FDR all at the same time.
Oh boy another ROM. I just flashed like 5 times this week. Gotta keep it together woooooooosaaaaaaah.
Issues
How is battery life is it simliar to stock or Cm 10.1 and does it have the same problems such as no camcorder and camera preview.

All CM10.1 builds if updated to the latest have the camera preview fixed. The camcorder is still not fixed according to the original post on the first page. I can't speak for the battery life as I have not had a chance to flash this ROM. But the recent CM10.1 built ROMs seem to have decent battery life.
Does rom have the same radio as the one in CM 10.1 (Unofficial). I love 4.2 but without a better radio theres no point in me using it.
Ive got the stock 4.1.2 radio, would i be able to flash that over 10.1 and get it working?
Re-flashed all is good, except bluethooth streaming. Rom is smooth, and lots of cool settings. Thanks to the devs.
Can anyone verify if Bluetooth streaming audio is working with this ROM
Thanks!

No its not working for me, none of the 10.1 Roms I've tried has bluetooth working which is a major bummer for me.
Still playing around with it though and this rom is great, with that one exception.
P.S When I hit play on the music player I just get a low hissing noise.
I noticed that LCD density is set at 184 as default. This makes everything pretty small on the screen. I changed it back to 240 through the Slim settings. Everything looks good now.

I wish people would really stop asking about battery life. You know what the answer will be, so stop asking. If you want battery life, use a stock build. If you want customization, use an AOSP build.
With that being said, I think battery life will be good for a AOSP based ROM. It runs smoothly and has some good tweaks, so I think battery will be decent.

Every single 4.2 ROM uses the stock radio, the same exact one that came in the latest update. There's no point in flashing one separately. I don't have reception issues, if you do it's not because of the radio. It's because of the kernel. The kernel and 4.2 ROMs are still works in progress. until the bugs are worked out, radio reception and battery won't be as good as stock.

MiniCM is based on the Cyanogenmod Project and Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod and MiniCM does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Hello guys, after changing ROM’s almost from month to month, I finally decided to find a ROM to settle down.
I’ve seen the great stability found nowadays with CM9 ROM’s to this device but I got impressed with the RAM management of MINIROM’s series and since we don’t have any build or port of MiniCM9, I decided to port it myself, and the results have been very satisfactory. Let me introduce you The MiniCM9 ROM.
What you get with this ROM:
• Built for LDPI
• Full hardware acceleration
• BadAss Kernel 1.9.2
• Opengl rendering
• App2sd / Dalvik2sd compatible with 2.1 app2sd (storing to ext2/3/4 pre-existing partition is detected and mounted as such)
• Android's native App2sd (move to sdcard, storing to fat)
• Modular Undervolting handled Settings -> Performance menu (by default not active)
• KSM support
• Extra Settings display option for Ultra brightness, also handled via notification bar icons
• Smooth 2D scrolling in menus
What’s working:
Everything (Except for minor issues).
Known Bugs/Issues:
Update notifications makes settings FC (Of course, Galaxy mini is not officially supported by MiniCM9 Team/Community)
Gallery photo editor (Do you really need this? If you do, download a 3rd party app)
Lockscreen shortcuts section in settings is not properly resized.
Tethering does not work.
CM9.2 bugs that I don’t remember
Instructions:
-In CWM do a full wipe(wipe data, cache and dalvik cache)
-go to “install zip from SDcard” and Choose “MiniCM9_stable_tass.zip”
-Wipe everything again(wipe data, cache and dalvik cache)
-Reboot System
-Enjoy

Additional Info:
- This ROM was ported from LG Optimus Me P350. The Base is CyanogenMod9.1 20130402 Build of erikcas.
Here's the original P350 thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2040176
- The Rom is very light: Only 81mb!
- Gapps are included by default, with latest playstore 4.3.10.
- This ROM has only English as system language. Use Morelocale from playstore to get other languages.

I've thought about that, but low incall volume bug on CM9.2 bother me, and getting phone.apk from thewhisp make incall screen very strange and unproperly resized which would be strange on a ROM that is built for LDPI.

Ok sir. But being a cm9 based rom, it will still have lags in opening dial pad and phonebook and ".. .not responding" issues? I am probably sounding noob but i hv faced these in many cm9 based roms that i have used so far and i understand these are bugs from cm9.

I don't have these lags on my phone. But if you really wanna know, you gotta go ahead and test it yourself in your phone. Android 4.0 is not intended for mini, we'll face some lag in it sooner or later, if you're not comfortable with this I would suggest CM7 or stock firmware.

Tired of Themed roms and bloatware? Tired of CM7 based, heavily modded roms? Want something Fast,Stable,Lite and Bareboned but still enjoy Cm7?

* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if

*/
I was inspired by this thread to make it for our ace-i too I made this for my personal use but I thought I might share it with you guys too since our device doesn't have a lite rom based on Cm7.
There's nothing special about this ROM.It can be used with any script like Adrenaline Engine or PurePerformances Mode or Fly-on script to boost your performance higher. This is just the first build. Will try to make this even better. But I won't be adding any fancy mods.I will try to add some simple mods in future builds.
Use this ROM and decide what is best for you.BUT, their SIZE speaks for them ! It is only 62 mb,It is based on biletv3's RC4 CM7.
Ram consumption is very Low.It is rock-solid and good for Multitasking and general use
Do not install Gapps.Install only the apps you need.
Bloatware has been removed as much as possible. It is very stable too.Give me suggestions on making this even better (if you want any app added or removed).I will try to add more roms to the slim series in future if you people want them.
All the rightful credits are in the second post.
All the downloads are in the third post.
I really hope this rom will be useful.
Finally,I know this is very simple to make and anyone can do it;I just wanted to share and help out some people who would really want this.:good:
Features:
Reduced the ROM Size to 53MB
[*]Ad-free by patching HOSTS File
[*]Rooted
[*]Added Quickpic.Removed Gallery 3D.
[*]No Bootanimation-Faster Boot
[*]Removed lot of unnecessary ringtones and wallpapers
[*]File-manager included in system
[*]Extreme Bare-bones
[*]Stable-Rock-Solid
[*]ADW launcher
[*]Lite windows phone keyboard (Uses only little rom)
[*]Removed all bloatware
Links ADDED in third post.

I agree with Envy. This is exactly the same as AOSP 2.3.7 except that it has CM7 parts.
Even if the ROM is so smooth it still consist CM7 remaining bugs which make it not stable enough.
Anyway, it might be useful to some users! :good:

would be interesting to see a poll request with the age of the users who only appreciate highly-themed roms and don't care about lighter and faster roms
this rom is what it is, thats all
1. Our phone has very less RAM to run ICS or JB in fully optimised manner. So these ROM's slightly fulfil that requirement. As the apps in these ROM's occupy very less RAM of around, 20 to 30 MB only !
2. Due to less RAM consumption, phone tends to be more responsive, smooth and faster !
3. Overall performance increases roughly around, 5 times !
4. If you are a benchmark believer, then AnTuTu scores were also slightly higher compared to the original ROM's
5. These lite ROM's along with any script like Adrenaline Engine, can boost your performance slightly higher.
6. These ROM's can be used as a daily driver, 100% !
7. Slim ROM's have slightly higher battery backup compared to the original ROM's. For me atleast, i.e; with minimal usage of phone.
NOTE - I use my phone only for phone calls and listening to music [A lot ! ]
8. So use these ROM's and decide what is best for you.
Thanks for supporting me.
9. There's nothing great about these ROM's. BUT, their SIZE speaks for them !
