[Q] In-Call volume control with CM10 on Vivid - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

I have installed the Official CM10 roms went it went "official", i am having trouble with the in-call volume? also the people on the other end can't hear me either?
Has anyone found a fix for this, it's driving me crazy. I like the CM10 Very much, but i can't use it without being able to hear. I keep going back to DarkRaider 1.5.5 which doesn't have any issues.
HELPPPPPP!!!!

I have been looking there, BUT NO ONE has FIXED it yet? That's what i am looking for is the FIX.

you obviously didn't read enough then. no it's not fixed it is being worked on. it works just cant raise volume and other callers can hear you. Of course you could always fix it for us

Do you know if it's a ROM issue, or a Kernel Issue? I've tried a couple of different Kernels with the CM10, and, i thought, it made a little difference? but not sure.

Yep, there is one out there called "Kernel usb fix cm10". there is another one Called " KangBang Kernel 2.0", there is one built into the PACman rom that can be Fastbooted.

Langbang isn't for JB as far as I'm aware.. and if so could you link me it.? And the USB fix was the default kernel home slice uploaded (I think)

The kangbang kernel is probably really old...back from when syn was working on cm10
And after that pretty much all the "jb" kernels are 99.9% the same...all based off the same source.

The real only differences are the OC. On USB fix one i can OC up to 1512, on the Kangbang 2.0 you can OC up to 2082? i think,
and on the PACman Boot.img you can OC up to 1728.

Are you saying you loaded Kangbang 2.0 on your phone with CM10 loaded? The reason I ask is the Kangbang 2.0 was based on ICS so not really setup for JB.

Yes, i did load Kangbang 2.0 with CM10, everything seemed to be working except WIFI. I couldn't get the WIFI to turn on. But everything seemed to be working?

As I said earlier...when syn was working on cm10 he had a kangbang kernel for jb...that's probably what this guy has

That kernel is old and doesn't have all the fixes that has been done to cm why are they using it

Try the new kernel or just stick with the default. Btw what the hell is linaro. Just curious. And not trying to be off topic

So can't someone compare what Syn had in his kernel to what we currently have and sort of combine them?

The Sultana kernel seems to be making quite a bit of progress, and a fix to the in-call volume is being worked on, but no success yet.
Keep an eye on CM10 development and Sultana development and you will get the fix as soon as they find one. That's what I am doing.

[KERNEL] Stock Sense HTC Kernel 2.6.32.17

This is the latest available stock kernel (2.6.32.17-g9a2fc16) for Sense-based Incredible's. Nothing has been modified by me, it's the actual binary built by HTC. It's included in my 10/13 stock release (from a few days ago) but figured anyone on Sense may be interested in it. Before anyone asks, I don't know what's different. We don't have the source for this yet and HTC doesn't exactly provide a change log.

I've been running it for a few days now and it seems rock solid to me. So, experiment with it and enjoy.

Yes on both. The custom kernel will remain an option, albeit unchanged since source is not available yet to update it.

Tired of Kings kernals always slowing down my phone and maybe with this and perflock set to be disabled on boot with SEPCPU I can keep my screen off profiles to save on some more battery life.
Just won't be able to o/c yet but not like I did much before anyway.

Request: MIUI GB based on Sharp fix 1 and kernel 2.6.35.7

I was wondering if someone could port a stable version of MIUI GB with radio and HDMI based on the modded sharp rom and kernel 2.6.35.6 because everything works there. It would be a great help as it would work 100%
Thanks in advance
If you could also point out how to port the radio and HDMI drivers for GB, that would also help. Thanks.

The ROMs you've quoted, like maclite macdragon, sharp mod fix 1, etc., don't quite fit in the definition of CUSTOM ROMs. They're just stock ones that have bloatware removed and are rooted. You can make those yourself by flashing an .nb0, installing CWM, taking a nandroid backup and edited through dsixda kitchen found in the forums.
The ones that are real custom ROMs like CM7 and MIUI don't have FM n HDMI working yet.
PS. for thanking a useful post I recommend the thanks button!

Takes slightly more than that
The reason they work is the binaries are compiled exactly for that phone and are not ported or recompiled sources from elsewhere/other hardware (incl. MIUI). Unfortunately none of the manufacturers has given us proper sources for ICS to follow step. The closest it gets is the Sharp ROM, which has the newer kernel, still is GB. Kind of hybrid. If I'd make a ROM today I'd probably base it on that, same as the chaps at droidsans are doing. For the simple reason everything works...

Once you've gotten familiar with git, github is as easy as "git push origin". Long-term, good git discipline will greatly improve your development workflow.

Issue with 5GHz Wifi
After applying this Kernel I was unable to connect to any of my 5GHz WiFi networks. Upon reverting to stock Kernel, the problem resolved.
Kernel seemed stable in all other aspects.
Running Stock XXALI1 (Rooted)
Thanks
OK - I took the plunge and tried this on a N8013. Only issue I have found is, as mentioned by MintyTrebor, with wifi. Both my 2.4 and 5Ghz work (as well as tether to the phone), but will occasionally disconnect - all I have to do to get it back is turn wifi on/off and things are good. Running at 1.6 on all cores (system tuner), very snappy (nova launcher). Benchmark tests really bumped up with this kernel. No problems with pen apps. Had one freeze, but that was after I'd installed twrp recovery.
Think I'll leave this kernel on for another day and see how the battery life is. Be great if someone could crank one of these out specifically for the N8013 to get rid of the wifi issue.
Thanks for testing kernel. Im gonna build kernel for 8013 and 8010 within 24 hours.

CM7 - using a custom kernel?

Hi all,
First time posting in the IncS section. I bought an IncS a few days ago and I'm pretty happy with it. My previous phone was an Optimus One (P500) which was running a modded version of CM7. This is my first HTC phone so I hadn't used Sense prior to this one. After spending some time on ARHD, I've decided that I'm not a big fan of Sense.
I'm planning on flashing CM7, but I was wondering if those of you that are using CM7 (or have used it in the past) have used a custom kernel with it or is the stock CM7 kernel the best option? Am I right in assuming that Redux and XS kernels shouldn't be used with CM7 since it's a gingerbread based ROM?
Tiamat don't even think just Tiamat.
Sent from my Incredible S using xda premium
Thanks : ) I found Tiamat's kernel page and noticed the latest is 1.1.5. I'll give that one a go.
Couple of questions since I see you're using Cm7.. From checking XDA and a couple of other forums I've read there's an issue with the backlighting on the buttons not working, but I'm unclear as to whether this is still a problem since these seemed to reference older builds of Cm7 from a few months back. I noticed the newest nightly was 20121111. Would you happen to know if the backlighting problem is still there? Also, I noticed there was a fix for camera freeze that was incorporated in the stock Cm7 kernel in the last couple of months. I'm assuming this isn't in Tiamat's kernel? Looks as though his latest kernel was released last year.

IMO stock kernel is better choice.
Yes it's already includes camera freeze fix, so there's no need in flashing it manually. But anyway you can try tiamat+fix

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I tried out CM7, both with stock kernel and the tiamat kernel. All went well initially. I couldn't believe how much more RAM I had available vs the Sense roms. After using it for a few hours the phone would freeze up at random times, and it would freeze up when I'd try to use the dialer. I ended up having to ditch CM7 and go back to a Sense ICS rom unfortunately. CM doesn't seem to have the level of development and testing on the IncS as it does on the Optimus One. With any luck there will be a stable CM10 available at some point.
