[Kernel]N8000 ICS/JB [1704Mhz OC kernel] - Galaxy Note 10.1 Android Development

Here is a kernel build for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.
Running on 1704Mhz. With extra 100, 50 and 25Mhz step. So it runs 25 to 1704 instead of 200 to 1400.
Custom bootanimation support. (Standard bootanimation wont work)
Triangle away support.
Update N8000BRV2 (ICS)
-better voltage settings
-better wifi drivers
-BFQ scheduler back
-updated linux version
-other minor tweaks
Update N8000Jelly_OC
-Build for JellyBean
edit.
N8013 and N8010 support pulled back because of the wifi problems

anyone test it on an n8013 yet?

n8013 support?
I am also curious to see if this works on the US version (N8013). Anyone willing to give it a shot?

Has anyone tested this yet?

Lol all these views and no one?

XDA told me that I need to put my source code online to confirm with the gpl license.
So right now Im busy finding out how to work with github after that I will build a N8013 kernel.

Check my sig for some git tips... which reminds me, Pulser asked me to write up a more detailed guide with more tips (such as how to handle branching and how to handle source releases for test kernels).
Once you've gotten familiar with git, github is as easy as "git push origin". Long-term, good git discipline will greatly improve your development workflow.

Not to seem greedy but is 1.6 the most we can squeeze out of this thing?

No this is just a start in fact 1600 isnt a real OC. The settings are already in the kernel made by Samsung they just locked it at 1400.

Issue with 5GHz Wifi
After applying this Kernel I was unable to connect to any of my 5GHz WiFi networks. Upon reverting to stock Kernel, the problem resolved.
Kernel seemed stable in all other aspects.
Running Stock XXALI1 (Rooted)
Thanks

OK - I took the plunge and tried this on a N8013. Only issue I have found is, as mentioned by MintyTrebor, with wifi. Both my 2.4 and 5Ghz work (as well as tether to the phone), but will occasionally disconnect - all I have to do to get it back is turn wifi on/off and things are good. Running at 1.6 on all cores (system tuner), very snappy (nova launcher). Benchmark tests really bumped up with this kernel. No problems with pen apps. Had one freeze, but that was after I'd installed twrp recovery.
Think I'll leave this kernel on for another day and see how the battery life is. Be great if someone could crank one of these out specifically for the N8013 to get rid of the wifi issue.

Thanks for testing kernel. Im gonna build kernel for 8013 and 8010 within 24 hours.

It's not that I'm not satisfied with the kernel I run, it's just that I'm certain there's some better one out there.
EDIT: What do you think of the kernel labeled Tiamat_N1-v4.1.0? From here: http://tiamat-dev.com/mahimahi/

Where can I download new governors?

Hi.
I use JellyBam in my N7000 wich come with basic governors. I would like use smartass or interactive governors... but,
where I can get it?
Its works in two core processor?
Its is dependent of kernel? Mine is CM10.1 compatible for JellyBan.
Sorry for my english... I am noob yet... and, yes, I do 3 hours of search (with made me confuse).
Thank you in advance.]

You're completely right. Governers are baked into the kernel. You can't just download them.
@op give it some time, job is still young. Once Sammy release kernel sources I'm sure kernel devs will start implementing stuff like that. Also, questions go in the q&a section.

Has anyone found a fix for this, it's driving me crazy. I like the CM10 Very much, but i can't use it without being able to hear. I keep going back to DarkRaider 1.5.5 which doesn't have any issues.

Do you know if it's a ROM issue, or a Kernel Issue? I've tried a couple of different Kernels with the CM10, and, i thought, it made a little difference? but not sure.

Yep, there is one out there called "Kernel usb fix cm10". there is another one Called " KangBang Kernel 2.0", there is one built into the PACman rom that can be Fastbooted.
Langbang isn't for JB as far as I'm aware.. and if so could you link me it.? And the USB fix was the default kernel home slice uploaded (I think)

The kangbang kernel is probably really old...back from when syn was working on cm10
And after that pretty much all the "jb" kernels are 99.9% the same...all based off the same source.

and on the PACman Boot.img you can OC up to 1728.

The Sultana kernel seems to be making quite a bit of progress, and a fix to the in-call volume is being worked on, but no success yet.
Keep an eye on CM10 development and Sultana development and you will get the fix as soon as they find one. That's what I am doing.

Congrats and salutations! Gone beyond cooking and actually into development. Welcome aboard.
As I said, I am using cm10.2. Has bluetooth problem (partly better but not really well-behaved in cm10.1) but it does run much nicer than cm10.1. Also prefer its notifications features. Of course, sources you backport might gain some more speed and smoothness for your hybrid as well. As far as I got with cm11 experimentals, bluetooth turned on and off like in the old days. Found KitKat too dependent on Chromium which is armv7 so lets out our devices. So maybe your approach is the way to go. Are you daring to touch ART (OK, your ROMs are a work of art)??
What are you doing about selinux? Old recoveries will flash the ROM?
Fix camera default exposure? Have everyone eating out of your hand
All the best. Watching this one!

[KERNEL][N4] inception.kernel - r10

Hey everyone, here is inception.kernel
I will never go on chasing issues. If this kernel works for you It's good, If it doesn't I'm sorry
Download:
4.4.4 AOSP: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23610159112651165
L-preview: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23610159112651164
Source:
https://github.com/aviz1911/kernel
How to flash the kernel:
Dirty flash your ROM and flash inception or just flash it
Things you should not ask:
- Lower CPU frequencies (minimum is 384MHz)
- Stupid governors
- CPU and GPU overclocks
- Support for older android versions
- Support for CM rom's
Inception changelog:
http://pastebin.com/mDS21y7e
Read this
Q. This kernel is not working on CM based rom's ?
A. I compile kernels which work on AOSP - to be precise on 4.4.4 STOCK ROM. They may or may not work on Custom rom's
Q. I flashed this on xyz custom rom and i had many reboots ?
A. I test inception.kernel on stock 4.4.4 rom. Don't bother posting the issues you got flashing this on custom rom's - i will ignore you
Q. Flashed your kernel and it's a BOOTLOOP ?
A. That means you did not read the instructions on how to flash this kernel from the OP correctly. Deal with it
Q. Battery life suckSSS with this kernel
A. I don't build kernel's that kills your battery. Install wakelock detector and see the god-damn app's which drain the battery
Q. Some features are missing in the latest inception.kernel which are present in the old versions
A. Check the changelog and feature list. If the feature you were looking for is not there, then i removed it
Q. I don't like your reply, i'll report on xda and complaint to the police
A. Do what ever the want. I'm GOD
Q. Does this kernel have features like DT2W, s2s, Touch wake ?
A. Yes, this kernel have all those features and you can use trickster or synapse to activate them
Q. How can i activate Double tap 2 wake profiles ?
A. TricksterMOD supports multiple values for dt2w, let's put it to use - credits: @savoca
1 - (Semaphore Stock) Center wake zone
2 - Full wake zone
3 - Bottom half of screen wake zone
4 - Top half of screen wake zone

The main point is i will add some good features but when i get into some compilation errors or any other incompatibility issues i mainly depend on Google. So, i cannot promise you that "every feature out there will be included in this kernel", But the features i like( easy to include ) will be added :laugh:
