Don't get it the volume button is *NOT* included.
Side note does anyone know where I can get a volume button :/

All of the midsections come with the side buttons (left and right triggers) the triggers are a part of the middle housing so don't be fooled thinking they are selling anything different . and the Volume button(s) was a separate piece that wasn't a part of the middle housing (correct)

Third-party car windshield mount?

Has anyone found a descent third party car windshield mounth for the Galaxy Tab yet?
Here is one.
Saw something similar on eBay, isn't the "claws" way to big? looks like you could hold a brick with that.
I got the above in car mount as part of the modaco superetrader offer, it's very good and versatile considering the price but the longer arm is almost too wide, so it's a bit fiddly when mounting the brackets on the short sides of the tablet, and there seems to be no way of mounting the brackets on the long sides of the tablet without them pressing the power and volume buttons
Attached is the one Samsung shop gave me free with my galaxy tab and they said the desktop dock also coming soon and they will give me one for free as well .

Aren't the side bits just fairly hard foam? Would it be possible to cut out grooves where the buttons are to stop it pressing on them?

Anyone have a link to where this can be purchased online?
I have the RAM holder for my old Samsung Q1U's, I found that the SGT w/ the soft case on it wedges rather nicely into it w/o risk of falling out. Because the Q1u is longer than the SGT, the mount does stick out about half an inch on each side.
wow

Scosche do one as well: http://www.scosche.com/products/sfID1/337/sfID2/370/productID/2014
Doesn't look like it has anything to hold it in place, so it's more of a perch than anything, any sudden acceleration and it looks like the tab could fall off.
Shame if that's the case, as it looks good otherwise.

That blue stuff you see is INCREDIBLY sticky, but leaves no residue when it releases. That Tab won't be going anywhere unless there's one hell of a frontal impact on the vehicle (or you own a Veyron with a strap-on rocket booster).

NOT BAD.. seems like it will work with a gel case, im using the ebay one i bought for my ipad and it works great just tends to cover the volume buttons on the case depending how i place it on there. , im still debating if getting the one by slipgrip is gonna be worth it.. depending on if there a holster case that comes out later down the road, i have a slip grip mount for my otterbox defender case on my hd2 and its perfect so im sure the slip grip one for the tab with a gel case would fit perfect just worried if i switch cases later down the road then can't use the slip grip anymore.
heres the slip grip

seems like they sell two types with case or without and a mount that goes on ram mounts.

OTG cable with angle correctly done?

i'm looking for a right angle otg cable that has the right angle so that when i have my n7 horizontally placed (power and volume rocker facing up), the cable is hanging down. most of the ones on the market angle up..... i know there are some on amazon (sanoxy) that have the right angle, but one of the reviews said that the item was not like the picture shown.
it is stupid that the n7 has the plug upside down.
anyone?
i just use my straight one in conjunction with this:

E want the cable angled to the opposite side (left side). Your picture, the cable is angled to the right.
you can just use an excato knife and cut along the seam to open up the plastic just enough to rotate the micro usb 180 and reglue it shut.
i see it now, wasn't paying attention reading the post (just saw right angle)
but if it hangs the other way, wouldn't the wire+whatever usb think you plugged in be touching the table when you place it sideways on a stand?

Cheap OEM Replacement Battery Door

I found these today on eBay and bought 2 of them, one WHITE, one GREY. They are the CHEAPEST I can find online at the moment.
I decided to get the grey because I sound a grey note 2 today and it looked quite awesome. I got the white one so I can have one as a back up.

Do you like them so far?
Let us know how the covers fit when you get them! My original back cover is not snapping all the way in below volume rocker, if I press hard the back cover with the phone on the table I can get the clip hold for sometime, but even the slightest bump to the phone releases the snap from it's home.
The cover leaves a small gap in there which creaks a bit when I hold to phone from that position. I doubt that the operator store has spare ons lying around , but mayby I could try to have a flip-case for free for the semi defect back cover.

It says though that i shouldn't expect it until mid december. Once i get it though if i can remember ill post some pics.
edit: still waiting, eta is 0-19 days and tracking says it is in my state
new battery door finally came in. Material quality is almost exactly the same as stock. Writing on the back is missing the galaxy note II branding but that may be becuase i have the sprint version.
If your into using nfc then you may wanna go with oem. It appears to not have nfc antenna. The are some 3rd party battery doors that have it built in but they'll cost you a little more.

IF you use one of the 50% off Samsung codes, or register your device on Samsung.com and use the code they send you, you can order a replacement battery door from them for $9.99. Bought mine yesterday morning and had it here by noon today. I messed up the one that came with my phone trying to Mod it.

FYI: poetic atmosphere case covers power button

I emailed poetic and asked if the case covers the power button which doubles as an ir blaster. They didn't specify if it was clear covering the button though.
I indicated my curiosity was about being able to use the ir blaster and they did not assure me that I could.
If this is a deal breaker for you, perhaps wait for reviews. I ended up canceling my preorder of the case and got a spigen

I did the same thing and probably ended up with the same explanation as you
"Dear Buyer,
Thank you for your interests in our products. The cases should fit perfectly for the new HTC devices with the power button accessible with no problem. If you do recieve the case with defects or the cases does not fit well, we do offer a return order process, so you would be worry-free when ordering our products. "
Doesn't really explain whether there is a cutout for it or not. It can still be accessible but lose its functionality of the IR.

Yep, it's covered. I don't have the phone yet, but the case arrived today and the power button is NOT clear or see-thru. For $10 on amazon, I figure it is still an OK deal. I also ordered the Borderline Bumper case, but it hasn't arrived yet.
I've attached some pics, so see for yourself.

An IR Blaster is the infrared light emitter remote controls use to control your tv, stereo, etc. This phone has one built into the power button. As in, when the power button is exposed, you can use the HTC TV app to control your TV. If this is covered, this feature is useless.
So is it safe to assume that the Borderline Bumper case also covers the power button?
I didn't even consider the possibility when ordering my Otterbox Commuter. Too late now. Will mod it.

Probably, but I believe we've only seen renders of it up until now, so it's hard to say. The volume rockers are covered on the Borderline case though, so most likely the power is too. I ended up ordering both, so if they would just start shipping them out.....
I could see this being an issue for One cases, in general. Most of the reviewers are saying that the button sits nearly flush with the chassis. It makes it awfully hard, then, to make any kind of case that goes around it but leaves enough room for your finger to fit in there to push it. It sounds like it's hard enough to push the button with no case on it at all. I would think clear plastic would distort the IR beam, but that's just speculation.
I got an email from poetic yesterday stating that the case has been delayed some more due to a revision. I was told it would take another week or so for delivery of the new revised/updated case

For the cheaper cases, one can just cut them with a stencil knife. Not a big deal.
Though, I do agree that they should have done something about it.

I can change the channel on comcast with an app too, but the ir blaster adds the ability to control multiple TVs, dvd player, blue ray player, surround sound stereo, and more. Even your xbox. I already have a universal remote, but it isn't programed for my other rooms.

I wonder if they will hook up the current owners that bought early with a discount to buy the new revision? I could care less about the IR but I'm glad there is an issue with it because the only thing I DON'T like about this case is the power button is quite difficult to manipulate. It's an awesome case outside of that, definitely different than TPU like I usually get.
Think I'll email them now.

Where to shop for replacement parts?

Hey guys,
So I bit the bullet and replaced my 2.5 year old Shamu's battery, I've had the phone since launch day so it started giving up on me with random shutdowns... I was lucky and found an OEM Motorola branded new battery on eBay. Unfortunately during the process, I busted the power and volume ribbon cable and the Mobo ribbon cable. Does anyone know a legit site where I can get these cables from?

There is a hinged little clip on the ribbon that plugs in next to the speaker that joins up with the volume and power buttons...
You need small hands or tools to insert the button wire under the clip... Then close it...
My meathooks could not operate the clip without twitching and breaking it off
