[Q]Beats Headphones Bundled, Release Date & LTE[Q] - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Long time since I was in the HTC section!
Thinking of ordering one when I get paid next week, I've watched the unboxings on the YouTube and there is this one thing I'm really itching to find out! The headphones that are bundled, the ones with the red buds, are they cheap & nasty usual HTC headphones, are they upgraded HTC headphones to have bass and actual mid-tones, or at they Beats Headphones?
I'm in the UK personally and although Clove announced a delay, I was just wondering what is the actual release date for the One? There's nothing on HTC website about the release date, though you can pre-order one direct from them, which I think is abysmal.
Furthermore, I'm on EE 4G in the UK will an unlocked One straight from HTC or any other retailer work straight away when I insert my SIM? That ones kinda the deal breaker because I was watching a video on YouTube and all the reviews in the US were saying 'and we can't test the LTE as this is the European Model' and I know the frequencies are different blah blah blah, but I just wanted to double check I know the device is order-able from EE on a new contract, but I didn't know if that was an EE 'specific' device.
Cheers guys!

I haven't tried the bundled headphones that came with mine (i got Beats Buds free ), but no, they are not Beats buds, they appear to be just the standard HTC ones with red tips.
If you buy an unlocked (sim free) version over here then your EE sim will work straight away.

Excelletente! I have Apple EarPods anyway, which for the record are absolutely fantastic I've had Beats Headphones before and they blow Beat's out of the water for a much lower price! Thanks for the fast reply.

No problemo.
I've never had, or used any decent headphones...(most will probably say i still haven't :laugh, but i like the bass with the Beats, i'm no audiophile but i like the sound of them. Maybe it's my mis spent latter teenage years in clubs standing next to speakers that blew your head off, but i like them and am happy with them.

But honestly, how many headphone adapters have you gone through?

I think I've just broken the 4th one.
Ok, the first 3 just sort of fell apart. They were very cheap (like £1/£1.50) but I made sure got one which wasn't made of 2 pieces put together at the phone end connector and it has not broken so far. However, today I got the dreaded "only sound in one ear" problem. If you push it to downwards it'll play in stereo again but I can't keep my finger there all the time.
So, what have you guys done? Cause surely you play music on your phone, right?
This is the new one I have..http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3-5mm-Headpho...ting_LaptopAccessories_RL?hash=item3357cd4555
Where as this is the old one, which I definitely don't recommend.

I bought mine from the seller directstation in January? and so far (touch wood) I've never had a problem with it which is pleasantly suprising as it looks very flimsy
I use a well brand headphone adapter..its for the touch hd but it is standard htc 11pin usb so its perfect..look it up on ebay..i bought 2 for $4 dollars so their cheap but solid
Actually, I put in the wrong link for the good adapter. The Directstation one was the same as the one I bought before and I manage to break 2 of those in under a week. I have changed that now.
The new one has lasted about 1 month or more but that is still too short I think. Besides, I'm not sure if it's the adapter or actually the plug in the Magic itself that's broken.
Man I wish this phone came with a standard 3.5mm headphone jack instead.

Well that was my tough choice to make with Vodafone, they had just anounced the HTC Tattoo when I got my contract and was offered either that or the Magic naturally I chose the Magic as it had the better screen of the two however it is sorley lacking a 3.5mm headphone jack
hmmmmm
Can someone PLEASE recommend me a good IN-EAR headphone from eBay?
I just broke my 3rd one!!!!
I hate in ear headphones with a passion. Lacking bass, sounds different if they just move slightly and....er...I don't like things in my ears.
I've yet to try anything from Etymotic. Apparently they are the bees knees, but not exactly cheap though.
SkullCandys
Once you go SkullCandy, you never go back.

This is the official site but I got mine at the Co-Op of my University campus for 50$
Sound is awesome and they are sturdy as hell. Plus with these buds, you don't hear a peep from the outside world.
I know I sound weirdly "sold" but it was really a revelation when I bought my pair of FullMetalJackets (another model)
cheers

That's no longer true on the bass .... many options for very good bass ear buds now. Including up to extremely expensive $500 earbuds. I have some middle of the line Sennheiser earbuds and the bass is excellent.
Your other points are true.

HTC Incredible S available 25th Feb @ mobiles.co.uk

Hi, just thought some of the uk guys would like to know the incredible S will be available tomorrow according to Mobiles.co.uk's twitter account.
Mobilescouk 11:43am
The HTC Incredible S will be available from free on O2 and Vodafone from tomorrow! You could have yours by Saturday!
Whish I could upgrade
That's great, the faster it's released, the faster the price will drop. I'm seriously considering selling my HD2 and buying one of those. But I'm going to wait for some reviews, if its worth giving my leo away.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA App
Has anyone bought it?
Got mine today (26th), just charging up and see what it's like.
The antenna must be in the rear battery cover, as there is something buried in the battery cover casing, and it has contacts, which connect to contacts in the main shell.
It looks very much like the nfc on my Nexus S, but there is no reference to this in any spec.
The part embedded in the battery cover looks like a wire coil (as nfc is)
I wonder if it'll suddenly be active once 2.3.3 update is made available???
That's curious, would be strange for HTC to keep such a feature under wraps though in the unlikely event this was the case - NFC being one of the main industry buzz words and all that!
flaotlite - can you give us a run down on the speaker quality - that is the loudspeaker on the back? I realise this is not important to some but I'd like to know how it performs when playing back video and when using speakerphone if possible?
Did you buy ths on an upgrade or sim free? I'm very tempted but I don't think it's worth the £499 cpw are asking right now - it's a cut down version of the DHD with a front facing camera and a bigger battery, yet comes in at £110 more expensive!?
With the little info out there at the moment I'm looking forward to hearing of your experience with this device.
Well so far, so good. Battery life 'seems' to be reasonable, will need a good days use whilst at work to really test it though. i'll get back to you on that.
The speaker seems good, it's clear and crisp even with background noise, there seems to be a second noise cancelling mic (as per the Nexus One) on the top of the unit.
I got it as an upgrade, it's a bit pricey SIM free, but i was on a £40 tariff and i got it free, so seems fair.
Thanks for that. Out of interest, do you have a Desire or Desire HD to compare the sound quality to? I'm really hoping it's better this time round.
Would love to see some sample images too if at all possible? There's a real shortage of info out there on this phone currently!
To answer my own question, the speaker is every bit as pathetic as the Desire's - no improvement there.

Yeah I agree which is why I brought the ay as you go for £449. CPW phones are unlock so I'll slap in my 3 sim card and ditch the £10 pop up with O2.
Just brought it 30min ago so will do a more thorough test this evening.
Have to say the build quality is much better than the Samsung GS and the Nexus 2 which are all plastic.

As mentioned elsewhere, thanks for the tip. Presume this will be the same both online and bought in store? It cost £459 with the compulsory top up though, right?
Be sure to let us know your throughts as you get to grips with it. Very curious about this device, it has everything I want but the quality speaker and I am currently trying to decide if this is enough to put me off!

Vivid and Beatbox Portable

I saw an ad last night (American Idol) for a Beatbox Portable speaker. They were using a Vivid to send music to the speaker. I assumed that the ad was from AT&T, but as of this morning, the Beatbox Portable does not appear on their website.
I believe I saw that the coming ICS upgrade will contain the Beats software. So, if they are promoting the Vivid-Beatbox combination, does that mean that the "official" ICS upgrade will be coming soon? Or just that they will soon be selling Vivids with the Beats software (and the ICS upgrade)?
I believe the update is bringing beats along with sense 3.6...I work for att and I have not recvd any info on the beats beatbox...looks cool and I would buy it...but waiting on info.
sent from my Vivid floating in rum using tapatalk premium.
Here it is. Yes Sense 3.6 does have Beats Audio built in.
The only problem is they cost $400!
This is weird, I went on AT&T's website yesterday and saw an ad for that boombox and clicked on it to check it out. Had a whole bunch of information. But now I can no longer seem to find it.
I wonder if att is going to officially roll out ics with this speaker at the same time to bring attention to both.

That was my main question at the start of the thread. I was hoping someone with AT&T might chime in.
IF I did spend $400 for the Beatbox, I would be more likely to use my iPod Classic with it. I can put a LOT more music on the iPod than I can on the Vivid.

Seems beatbox portables have been scarce. And is a bit pricy for it's capabilities. Although sound is probably pretty decent.
the tuneboxpc over on the kickstarter.com website looks interesting. (newbie, can't post links yet). It is linux based so should be easy to modify. Seems to be able to work with any web enabled devices. Cheaper than the beatbox, but requires a form of speaker like stereo or plugin speakers....etc.

[Q] Free MDR-1 Headphones

Hi all,
Just checking as to what headphones everyone got with their pre-orders, it seems some got the Bluetooth version, so my question is did everyone get that version?
Will be collecting mine from Three at lunch time
I'd have loved the BT nfc ones, makes sense to pair those with the Z. Still a nice pre order bonus though.
Ordered from cpw and have the standard wired ones.

LUCKY BLUETOOTH BOYS!!!
Here's hoping I am equally blessed but I am not holding out too much hope
I am a bit disappointed now, just looked at the different models as I thought they were all noise cancelling headphones, but it seems only the MDR-1RNC are noise cancelling, priced at £449
Never mind though, at least I'll be able to hear the traffic if trying to cross the road lol
It would really make my day if I SonyMobile.com sent out the Bluetooth ones, but something tells me that they're only offering the regular ones. Which, frankly, isn't such a big deal if you ask me - shouldn't be a problem to use with mw600 or similar "adapter-ish".
I got the normal ones in black, I don't know what made me think they were supposed to be noise cancelling though, I must have read it in a review rather than on the Sony offer page...
Normal ones from P4U for me still happy tho
No idea why someone would want wireless headphones over wired ones, unless you're selling on. Wireless is more expensive while lower quality sound. Fact.
I preordered mine on the first day they opened preordering up, Got an email today from P4U, saying "sorry I didn't get it today but It has been sent special delivery before 1pm tomorrow". and I've been upgraded to the Sony MDR-1RBT ones worth £399, even tho they only £248 on amazon.Would have been nice to get the noise cancelling ones tho' lol
I got the wired one.... preordered from carphone warehouse...

The XperiaZ kinda encourages everyone to use wireless accessories. i'm gonna need to buy a SBH20 so that i can plug my headphones into the bluetooth reciever so that I don't have to open flaps on my xperiaZ.
Also going to need a docking station because the flaps are annoying
i preorderd from mobicity, does that mean i dont get headphones?
its an australian website btw

Sorry but no.
Sacrificing quality (for a higher price at the same time) for style is kind of stupendous.
What's more, I'm not planning to dump my phone into water or take it under the shower. Water resistance is something for emergency situations, if you drop your phone into the sink that it doesn't go bust. I won't refrain from using my phones features like the damn USB port and headphone jack for some misplaced sense of diving desire.
Treat it like the ZL and realize your phone will function with or without water resistance (except under water).

I don't get why all of a sudden people are getting wireless everything for the XZ. the waterproof is a just in case feature, it doesn't mean that you stop using the phones normal features.

Not Compatible With Dre UrBeat Headphones?

Hi guys, I've just gotten the Z3C, and am having headphone issues. I have some Dr. Dre urBeat headphones that work perfectly in every other device, but when I connect them to the Z3C, they don't work. It sometimes says that headphones have been connected if I jiggle the jack around, and they might work for a few seconds, but then they always stop working. Every other pair of headphones I have work fine in the phone though. I took the phone back to the shop as I thought it must be faulty, but after trying my urBeats in the shop's display Z3 and Z3C, I encounter the exact same issue! Whereas every other brand of phone they had on display works perfectly.... So are urBeats not compatible with Z3 phones? I've done some research and apparently 3.5mm headphones jacks vary in that some are CTIA and some OMTP so maybe that's the issue? This is an absolute pain in the ass as it seems I've thrown my cash away on these headphones! Any help would be appreciated
Maybe the Z3C is the only one that can recognize crap and refuses to work with it :silly:
I have no idea why it wouldn't work tho, since the Xperia Z I've seen people having issues with their headphones, but i don't see why it would matter.

+1 :highfive:
To the OP -- not sure what plug the Beats uses (CITA or OMTP) but I think Xperias started using the CITA standard a few years back and this is probably the problem (whic is odd because I thought Apple also used CITA and Apple sells Beats headphones). Either way, you can buy CITA/OMTP adapters for a few bucks on Ebay, so all is not lost.

I don't care if you guys think they're crap or not, they were a free upgrade I got from the store after my old headphones kept breaking every 3 months, and these have so far outlasted them.
I just got a CTIA to OMTP adapter and the problem persists. Seems like for some idiotic reason they are not compatible.

See if Beats has a customer service number... maybe there's a solution. Seems odd that they simply won't work. You could also try the Xperia Care forum where you might get an answer: https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z3-Compact/bd-p/xperia_z3_compact
There's a thread there about Sennheiser earphones not working and one suggestion was: "try to clear data for smart connect under settings-apps-all. Also, clean the 3.5mm input."
Yeah I called Sony tech support and they had me clear the data. Problem persisted. So now I emailed the Beats tech support and their reply didn't help. But luckily, the right earphone started cutting out yesterday so I claimed warranty this morning Used the opportunity to switch to Sennheiser CX275s. Works perfectly. Their value is $50AUD less than the Beats and yet the quality is a lot better. Perfect timing for the Beats to break lol. So all is well now These Sony phones and their headphone compatibility issues are a joke though. Really poor.
