Any chance you can do a video on "How to Install XT862 drivers on Windows Vista or Windows 7 PC"?
I'm struggling to find the Win 7 drivers and get my PC to recognize the device. I've set my phone as both MTP device or USB Mass Storage, and the drivers fail each time.

And your device is rooted? Did you have running Google Apps? Which GoogleServicesFramework.apk you have installed?
Sent from my KFTT using xda app-developers app
No I'm not rooted
The only Google app I have is Google maps

Firefox crashes except for 10.1 and 10.2 but the new firefox nightly works someone on another thread linked this dropbox file https://dl.dropbox.com/u/54456659/fennec-20.0a1.multi.android-arm.apk I tested it and it works
Sent from my KFTT using xda app-developers app
I'm encountered the same problem with FF force closing after opening using version 17.0.
Once my Kindle Fire charges back up I'm going to try the nightly builds and if those don't work going to older releases from mozilla's ftp mobile directory.
Sorry I can't post a direct link - I'm too new.
Current setup is an unrooted KFHD 8.9.
Just looking for browser that will let me tweak an ad blocker and javascript to my liking.
I will let you know if any work.

Installed the current nightly off Mozilla's site - download was called fennec-20.0a1.multi.android-arm.apk - and so far so good even if it feels a bit laggy.
Trying to import bookmarks crashed it for me.

I checked my KFHD but couldn't not find any googleservicesframework.app (looked in /system/app and elsewhere). I tried both releases and nightlies (10, 18 and 19). None of them worked.
My KFHD is a rooted 7" model with the Play Store app installed.
Somewhat off-topic: Why does the Play Store tell me that Chrome is not compatible with my device? Does anybody know what it requires that the KFHD doesn't have without diving into the androidmanifest.xml file of the APK? Thx!

It works fine on the kindle fire. Download the apk from somewhere else and install manually. There are copies all over xda

[Q] Kindle Fire HD Questions

Hello!
I am a rooted Kindle Fire HD 7" owner. I would like to know some details about a jelly bean OS for my device so I can replace the clunky Amazon's version of Android. I would also like to know, if the process of making the jelly bean on it is not completed, the progress that has been made on it. Thank you!

[REQUEST] UnifiedSearch.apk Kindle Fire HD 7" (2013)

I deleted the unifiedsearch.apk from my Kindle Fire HD (2013) thinking it was one of those third party search tools that my son had downloaded that had taken advantage of root and installed itself in system. i now realize it was the unifiedsearch for the kindle fire hd search on the default launcher. can someone pull this system APK, i meant do do a system dump before removing, but forgot. Thanks in advance
You could just pull it off the latest update for the hd 2nd gen on their site... Download the file on this page and change the extension to zip, from there you should find the file you need by opening it with your favorite zip file viewer.

Amazon Fire 7 2015 - install Play Store (no PC)

Hi All,
Is there a way to install Play Store on the Fire 7 without root and no PC?
I've got two Chromebooks, don't know if that would help at all!
Thanks

This worked for me. http://www.gregglestv.com/2016/01/50-amazon-fire-tablet-how-to-install.html?m=1
@glenawil. That's cool. The workflow I wrote uses the trusted sources of another working Android device. I was too worried about using binary files from someone else.
