After toying with my kindle for a while I realized just how hard it was for new users to actually go about "freeing" there Kindle Fire 2.

Currently it all seems to work well on my Kindle (Apart from rooting, still working on that, it is in the menu, but as of the current build, will do nothing.)

I know its not the best code in the world, it could be structured better, it could be more optimized and cleaned up, but it works, that's the main thing.
To use the utility you must have ADB enabled on your device.
Its also helpful (But not required in most cases) to have the Kindle Fire Drivers on your system.

Version 2.0 released, fixes a lot of bugs etc, Added root functionality.

Currently in the works, beta testing it myself, still a few little bugs, shall hopefully have an update out shortly.

2.2 Update Released, fixes a few bugs, Downgrade bootloader should now fully work, more progress made on root, still does not work however.

So i'm just getting started on my Daughters KF2. Short story, 1 kid now has Galaxy tab 2, other has KF2. Stock KF2 sucks. I want to make it more like a real Andriod device, IE the Samsung tab2/N7.
Me? I use Windows Phone haha but it is unlocked and rom'd :highfive:
So, what I gather is this tool will do the work for me to root and set me up to load up a real rom on this thing? Sorry I have been searching and searching, not much n00b info on this device.

The ability to root still does not work, according to the op....

Sorry for the delay in getting an update out, I recently bought a new Macbook Pro, so I may also be making a nice OSX Version, Windows update should be out shortly, Root has been fixed, along with ROM Flashing.

I can't wait!!! None of the 'other' methods work and I've been holding out on your program to get my daughters KF2 rooted.

I see 2.2 is up. Looks good.
I cant get it to run. in on 10.3 stock OS. Do I need to root before I downgrade the boot loader?

To add to this, I cant get root to work with the 2.2 YAKF2U. I also tried Manuel method too(Bin4ry's Root + QemuRoot). I get stuck at qemu, it just doesn't run. It starts the Daemon, and sits there. The Bin4ry root was doing this too, but I was just tinkering with it and it started and said successful so I moved on.

muhaaa got it working. I had a package/driver missing from ADK.
Well got the root working, trying the downgrade now

Root before downgrading bootloader.
Having some issues with the latest version, I'm not sure on any release window, as above, Make sure you have the right ADB drivers installed.

Wait a second.. I can use this tool to downgrade my bootloader from the 10. Versions? That's awesome! Do I still need a fast boot cable for this operation? My Kindle is already rooted.... I thought I was stuck with just an Android look alike using various hacks..

Any luck getting this up and running, and fully functional ( that's what she said)?

Hit a brick wall with it unfortunately, For one my Windows PC Died, two, My Kindle died..
I will hopefully be getting another Kindle soon, however until then, I wont be able to post any updates, as I wont be pushing out un-tested scripts.

HOW TO INSTALL:
Download ROM and place on SD
Reboot into recovery
Wipe unless change log say otherwise *
Install the ROM
Reboot out of recovery
Skip setup wizard (you can put your name in)
wait five minutes for all to settle as this is a highly tweaked ROM and Kernel (soon)
Reboot
Additional install info:
Now install Xposed. The installer app comes with the ROM. Open it and click install. Don't reboot yet. Hit the tab above that says modules and turn on the modules you want to use... now reboot.

thanks man I finally got unbuntu setup and im successfully building CM 10.2 for mako and flo, gotta do more reading on how to help setup a new device though...if you need any help im a very quick learner, for now though i will read up on creating new device trees and follow along your progress. add me up on g+ too if you like ptesmoke AT gmail. cheers and thanks!

Anyways, working on a bunch of other tweaks and mods. Don't forget that xposed theme manager works. There is a thread in the app section I made Link to thread. There are links to many modules in the thread. Also in my Infamous tools app there is a link to the Xposed folder for you to download straight to the tab.
Last to jump start development in here, anyone can use my install script for their ROM. Figure if we all work together we can make this a really nice tab.

if you follow me at all you would know i've been talking to jamison about porting this he of course gave the green light since hes hands down (my opinion ppl) the best rom developer around. i first did Nem 1.5 didnt release it as there were a few issues with my previous uploads and AFH and it took time to fix that then 2.0 was put out a few days back so I just moved on new better right? anyway this is the new "Alpha" which none of you have probably seen but none the less its a great rom in itself but Nemesis FN rox. Guarantee if you get it up and going you will not be sorry this blows away any rom put up against it period. more customizable and more speed with great stability made this rom my daily instantly. if you want to argue this fact then be sure you have the same programs running on the different roms and post a benchmark include all details as I'm sure if you beat her you'll have someone trying to emulate you and if your lying well obviously well figure it out. Also no talk of the disappearance of the creator hes well and elsewhere but I felt it necessary for you to all be able to enjoy this developers gem please search him out at the thread below give him thanks a high five some money but do it there plz lets keep this strictly rom / kernel talk thanks.[/SIZE]
To Install:
1. Simply run the zip thru your favorite installer answer questions asked by installer.
2. Then donate to me and james to get it working and I'll send a secret code to finish install. as this was a painstakingly hard one to get to you ppl.
3. This should work for any S4 and any model or version of it. intended for VZW originally but you are able to flash to any carrier. use the biohazard kernel which is available here along with any APN or Modem or SS module over the top. I'm not going to get into the exacts as the users below will inform you of what worked best for them and if what i just said sounds like giberish then do what everyone else here has done and learn your device from extensively before flashing as we obviously are not responsible for your decisions but well try and help if you mess it up just don't ask until you tried to fix or research or search the threads for help thanks.

Lil about me: I'm a now broke, technically I'm disabled (w/ 4 crushed discs in spine the gov says I'm too young to get disability and shouldn't admit that MMJ medicine works for me they=heartless pricks)I'm a full time single parent of a 2 yr old so I don't get a lot of time for my passions anymore. ex award winning programmer (lost the love for it, be sure to copyright anything you intellectually own especially when it comes to working with G or MS. they'll steal your everything claim you signed it over and hang you out to dry) now i'm just a fellow android lover with a knack for making things work when they normally won't, experimenting, coding,scripting, anything I feel like doing so if this or any of my other creations or additions to your phone helped you in any way help keep my kid in fresh diapers or put a beer in my hand please. The things you're posting here, there are very vague instructions on how to install them and don't seem to have Sprint instructions on them at all. For example, what is SafeStrap? These may be awesome Roms, but we can't tell if we can't install them.
On a different note, I really want to thank you for bringing something fresh to our forums. Its been a while since I've flashed anything.

After a day with this rom, well it's quite good, smooth enough, has some customizations, found no error until now; very good for a beta. Great job, guys

Thank you for your built man. Latest built works fine and i feel the difference between older dialler lag problem in this its better

Great to hear that! I worked very hard to fix the dialer. Can you tell more about the dialer? Is it still lagging? If so, could you pm me a video or something.

Yes jeffrey its still lagging but its little bit faster than the previous built..... Ya sure i will make video of dialler and uploaded it thanks man i think ur built goes near to stable version If dialler problem solved means its good man Later i will upload it

Issues:
- VoLTE and VoWIFI (and won't be implemented anytime soon)
- SELinux is set to permissive in this first build.
- Small outer cover screen has touch x and y axis swapped. (to swipe left, you must swipe up etc)
- Opening the fold wakes the phone up, but closing it doesn't put it to sleep (android does this assuming you want to use it with outer screen, but on flip this is impractical)
- Wireless Powershare (not implemeted yet)
Instructions:
Make sure you are on OneUI3.1 F700FXXU4DUB4 firmware (latest at the time of writing this). Older or newer ones may or may not work, this it what's tested.
- Carefully follow all instructions flashing the LineageOS recovery image in this thread, including decrypting the filesystem.
- Format data from los recovery again.
- Download and ADB sideload LineageOS zip, and (optionally) opengapps & Magisk(yes, the .apk). You can push them into internal storage but after decrypting that won't be accessible until first reboot so to avoid a mess it's best to sideload. Hit yes if the recovery asks you anything about missing signature verification.
- Reboot and profit?

Notes:
- It may be possible to not have to decrypt the filesystem in order to use this, but personally i've never tried it.
- If you run into any issues regarding the rom itself (bootloops, crashes etc) try a clean flash without gapps or magisk and see if they occur again. Some meme versions of gapps and/or magisk can sometimes cause problems. If you still have them, post about it here.
- In the same downloads folder i have uploaded a kernel with the cover screen's touchscreen disabled since accidental touches can start getting annoying.If future me got lazy and uploaded it in .img format, place the kernel on the root of /sdcard/ and run this command from adb shell in los recovery (after enabling it in advanced tab)

- Upon first boot you may want to go into settings and switch preferred connection mode from 3G to 4G

The device trees were made in collaboration with other people who want it private, so it's not upto me if/when they're made public, sorry.

I briefly remember trying to flash a phh android 11 gsi and it crashing into fastboot. Never got around to troubleshooting as to why tho. But i've had issues with those on other devices too, so android 10 ones might work if you manage to downgrade platform.

It works just fine. Claims to be F700F, but that's about all that seems wrong.

i've tried GSI, especially Pixel Experience Plus. Everything is worked fine

Anybody got problems with the Touchscreen? After reboot in LOS, its not working. I can not touch on NEXT>
I see one time in the left bottom corner "SAVE MODE" pop on the screen. Maybe this is the problem?

Does it work with OneUI5 update (F700FXXSAIWA5)? Or it's a no-go for newer versions than 3.1?

No, it won't work with versions other than what's in the first post. I've long since sold my z flip (kinda regret doing so too), otherwise i could've updated it.

Hi, @Rainbow_Dash This is the only post that I could find that includes a custom privacy ROM for the Samsung Flip phone. I bought a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 SM-F721B months ago and still searching and waiting for one to pop up. Do you perhaps know or maybe have seen anyone post about this that you can share with me? I've always been curious how a custom rom would look on these foldables. Congratulations on making the first one.
I suppose nobody has attempted making any rom for any of the other ones because they have two "fully functional" screens on both sides. This is more of a ticker display.

I did make and link a video demo, it's on the first post. Basically it's a mirror of the main screen.

That's hilarious. Too bad the touch direction is for some reason inverted. It would have been a fun way to use it.
Now i really want to buy one of those, just to play DOOM on the small display.
