If having a hard time with English, try Google translate, it does a good job and we will be able to understand a bit better.

Similar for samsung tab 7

You're not gonna get it, I feel your pain. I wanted one as well but it's impossible to port a Samsung Rom to our nexus.

There's a Samsung Touchwiz theme/launcher in the Theme section. That's your only other option.
EDIT: Did not mean to quote you haha Oh well.

For me, I don't like the look. I like the features.

not to be rude, but, the nexus 7's hardware is superior to most samsung tablets within the same price range.

While that's true, if the ROM is that important, it's probably worth the slight downgrade in specs. I have both a Nexus 7 and a Galaxy Tab Plus, and the performance on stock ROM vs. stock ROM isn't hugely different. I prefer the Nexus 7 because it has stock Android, but if having Touchwiz was that important to me, I don't think I'd miss out on anything by using the Plus.
I am looking to sell my Plus, though, so maybe keep an eye on Swappa, OP.

Samsung is BAD!

Samsung doesn't have any rooms at the moment, try a different hotel.
Seriously though. The closest you can get is through themes and launcher. Touchwiz isn't open source enough to port it

i got 2 questions for you:
1. Why??? (i had a Samsung tab 2 10.1 and the first thing i did was remove the samsung stockrom )
2. Why didn't you buy a Samsung Tablet

1- I love Rom's Sam for Android very easy and cool ^_^
2- In fact I have Tablet Samsung 10 But I hope to find room for my NX7 Because its screen smaller than Tablet Samsung of 10
Also Sam Tablet 8 is not available to us I can not find it in the market .
Another reason I can not buy another Tablet for just a system I have promised devices on the whole
Thanks for your help and feel adapted builder with crude system your NX7.
Thanks All Closed ^_^.

OK OK I have a Samsung galaxy ace s5830i (don't forget the i at the end) and I've done the complete opposite. I tried to make it as much as a jelly bean phone (like the nexus 4) as muck as possible so I flashed jelly blast and ported the nexus 7 boot animation etc. did loads of stuff like that (tweaking the jelly blast ROM, having jelly bean app icons and so on) and to be honest I think it looks really neat By the way my friends have galaxy y's and sII minis etc. And there pretty jealous of me. (Half of them have only rooted there phone the rest are just noobs. None of them have even flashed a ROM or kernel... Except for me )

we're open for this, dont start a bounty thread. we're doing it for fun, not for money.
what we need is:
- a friendly base for tab mode like cm9 or aosp. not aokp.
- a friendly developer who can compile on his own and whos willing to 1. port paranoidandroid 2. work with us to perfect these features 3. doesnt do it for his own benefit

paranoidandroid is a true hybrid rom, what this means is that you have full freedom over apps, systemapps, framework components like dialogs or navbar and even widgets. the latest hack even allows you to switch seamless between mobile or tablet layout, although that one is not ready yet to be released.

This is a beautiful rom and is perfect for the Note. We need to get this done guys. I'm out of town this week. But I'm going to take myself to school this weekend to learn. We should setup an IRC channel to collaborate.

Who will make my next phone?

Hey all.
Basically i just want to hear all your thoughts on your current devices, and what you think of the next device in that product family.
My thoughts.
My first android device was the Motorola defy which really sold android for me, the fact i could treat a phone horribly by accident and it not care was a really solid selling point. The developer community for it was really quite strong too, it even receiving CM10 before my current S2.
The original transformer isn't the prettiest, lightest and fastest tablet anymore (not that it was ever lightest SO MUCH GLASS) but it was and is my first tablet and still works amazingly today. Good job Asus.
My current phone is the Samsung Galaxy S 2 which i bought outright after everyone that had one giving raving reviews and a quick view of the forum showed a very active community. Little did i know the issues the developers faced to get the aosp roms working properly, it is not pretty and it is entirely the fault of Samsung and their hardware partners (I am looking at you, yamaha). I know this and love the developers for supporting my S2 so well, especially codeworkx whom has been moving devices lately.
I love the idea of getting the S3, but i would only be going for the larger screen and if all i want is the larger screen why not go even larger and get the Note 2? Especially after its drop test video. It is a tank of a phone.
The One X+ Kind of interests me with unlocked bootloaders etc. But the fact i have to flash the kernel separately to the ROM every time (or at least that is my understanding) would really annoy me.
After the defy i would rush to a unlocked bootloader on a Motorola. That and screen size were the only issues i had with my defy.
But my current plan runs out in December which is only a few months away and i would love some ideas on devices coming into Christmas season.
Currently i am thinking Note 2, but i don't want to have half baked aosp roms because of hardware support. Ideas?
And yes doing a BYO 6 month plan with my local carrier is an option.
How bout this one?

Although super durable i am not sure it would have all the features i am after. And look at that screen, tiny!
HTC 100% of the time.
There are some really cool devs and contributors who have written apps and scripts that enable you to flash everything all at once, kernel included.

I have the SGSIII and the One X. In the case of the One X (not the One X+ but it's basically a refresh of the One X) yes, you do have to extract and flash the boot.img via your pc using fastboot and the flash the modules via recovery...not as bad as it sounds. It's a great phone.
The SGSIII not only has a bigger screen but a higher resolution than the SGSII. There are many ROMs for it and in the case of the US variants I've flashed ROMs made for the AT&T variant on my T-Mobile one. (The international version also has great development.)

Hey Tommy thanks for the reply, i take it your experience is from the EVO?
Thanks Babydoll one of my friends has the one x which i rooted/cm10ed for him the other day, it was an interesting look into HTC custom roms and i must say it is not overly difficult or anything. And i did see the scripts Tommy was talking about, they would be nice in easing the transition. How do you find the one x build quality? I heard it was hit and miss between users.

That's the reason why you sold it? You could have flashed a safe kernel. Done.

I've decided this phone ain't for me. I guess I'm just

Not into the concept of modding this thing to suit me. My brothers sg3 is just so much more usable out of the box. I guess I just don't get it. Off to somewhere that has a sales board.
What a useless thread......
Can you give it to me?
The Nexus 4 is perfectly usable out of the box. It just doesn't come with 20,000 useless features like the SIII out of the box.

That makes no sense at all. This is the phone that works fluidly out of the box, while the SGS3 is the one you have to mod and optimize so that you undo w/e crap that Samsung + carrier (such as AT&T) put on there. Which is also the reason I got this phone.
Most people on this forum will talk about optimizing the phone beyond it's already current butter-ness, being that this is a developer's forum, but you don't have to do them. The only thing I've really done to this phone is unlock the bootloader (which you don't have to do unless you want to install custom ROM's and such).
Not sure how the SGS3 is, but I had to go through a bit with the SGS2 before it got to the level that the Nexus' are at.
Cool story bro.

He's a troll because he said the phone isn't for him? Get over yourselves. If he said it was a pile of crap and all that jazz then yes he would be a troll, There's a few people that have said this is an average phone that hasn't impressed them as much as they thought it would.
Its ok
Its ok guys if he likes the s3 better. Dont complain about peoples opinions, thats why they are called opinions.
I agree with him, although I am sticking with the nexus 4. The samsung galaxy s3 is way better in stock form except for the extra bloatware. The s3 lock screen have easy access to phone app and such, the stock video player and gallery does much more then nexus and play all type of file, s3 also have unread read dot on the phone and mesage. The led notification is better stock on s3 then the nexus. Also other stuff, which may be useless but it's there if you need it like pop up player. For the nexus, I have to to download bunch of app and mod it to make it better. One of the reason I left apple is because it doesn't have much feature out of the box even if I don't need it.
On the off chance you are serious, if there is something you can't figure out I'm sure we can help.

humm... weird, running an older macbook pro with Ableton live and photoshop to do actual work and rendering things and all the things a advanced computer system does and it makes my Nexus 4 feel like a good place to check my texts and maybe struggle to use a regular website on the road.
I really dont need a tablet, to me it is like a frustrating computer screen that can't run the millions of computer programs that pros need on mac or pc, and without being able to have full control.
My Nexus is significantly more responsive than my dual core notebook with windows 8. I think its time for me to get a quad notebook as well.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
I dont' get it , I have an older macbook pro, with a 5400 HD even, I don't wait even a second more for anything that I should.
This phone on the other hand, I couldn't even go threw crome to Google mail regular view and click the spam folder properly, or I can't even sign out of the desk top version of facebook on the phone.
The phone has wasted more seconds of my life in the last week waiting for it to do things than a real dual core computer has in years.
Do you mean when you click an app it opens quickly ? Thats cool, but overall a phone on android is just a phone compared to a laptop.
I couldn't make a living without a laptop, I couldn't DJ, I couldn't make graphics or websites, I couldn't have video and audio rendered, I have 8 gigs memory in my macbook and I can have ten huge programs open at the same time without a hicup...
You know what I mean.
The day we are looking at a projected image of android on teh wall and using a keyboard is the day we will all prob go by a windows or iphone and notice that nobody is ever going to make ableton live or even photoshop work on android, not the full version, not Final Cut Pro, not even a full version of anything that people need.

You know major manufacturers are working on a new bios now. It probably take you around 10 - 15 seconds to boot up your Laptop (If it's using an SSD). Soon 3 seconds will be the norm. Give it about five more years

That would be great if you could post the kids launcher APK. My buddy just bought a tab 3 for his daughter and then tonight he seen the tab 3 kids and he was kind of bummed out about buying he regular one for her. I told him we'll be able to turn that into a kids tab and we'll be able to retain the stock TW launcher also.

will do, I do see the plain white tab 3 7.0 retails for at or around 150, I am holding out for the blackfriday and cybermonday price cuts, if the price cuts don't happen I am just going to buy it remove the UI and exchange it for the standard

GALAXAY TAB 3 KIDS ROM IN DEVS SECTION
posted by gr8nole
Any luck with the kids rom on regular tab?
Has anyone tried installing the kids firmware onto the regular Galaxy Tab 7? I'm in a similar position where I bought the regular version and would love to convert it to the kids version.
Any tips/tutorial links on how to go about this would be much appreciated as well, as I'm an Android newbie.
Thanks!

ive extracted the file from here and found all the kids mode .apks and odex files but have no idea where to go from there
Has anyone managed to get this working yet
I would be interested in this too. Bought two Tab 2 10" for $60 each. One for me and one for the kid. The Tab 3 Kids UI is smooth. Apps in the play store don't compare.
