[ROOT-METHOD][Odin] SM-T210 or SM-T210R | Samsung galaxy tab 3 7inch wifi - Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 Android Development

While it is uploading here is the info. We have been working on making a custom recovery. No luck. Close but not there yet. So I decided to make a pre-rooted firmware you can flash through Odin. Works perfectly. The firmware I used was for the UK version. Funny enough stock the kernel is unsecure. Anyways it is the whole firmware so it is about 1.1-1.2 gigs. Uploading to me Dev-host.
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
By using the rom you agree with the above terms!
Instructions:
Download firmware
Download Odin - Link here
Boot into download. (either hold power and volume down or do adb reboot download)
Click on PDA and then find prerooted.tar.md5
MAKE SURE RE-PARTITION IS NOT CHECKED!!! You will have an instant brick! You have been warned.
Click start and wait.
once done it will reboot into (stock) recovery and finish installing.
Once done and booted just open SuperSU and update the binary. Not by CWM but the other.
Done. Enjoy!

what version of odin is every one using for the tab 3

Hey!!!! Congrats man....
Just two questions
1. That 'instant brick' you talk about... You mean a HARD unrepairable brick x.x? (Want to be aware of everything that can go wrong haha)
2. This will obviously erase all my data right?

Not sure about the first question, but you should not lose your data. This flash does not erase or overwrite the data folder (at least I didn't lose mine).

If repartition is checked it will hard brick the device. Any Samsung device actually. This is an Odin issue and has nothing to do with the firmware. Just double check repartition is not checked and you have nothing to worry about.
Just warning people who haven't used Odin before and thought that was how to wipe like recovery. It is not! This deleted recovery, download mode and even the boot partition. Lights go out and never return.

yeah i knew that much odin is serious business very easy to brick if you do it wrong. one of many reasons i have been hoping to get a easy root and unlock up for the na firmware this solution is putting the uk firmware on the na device same hardware just a few bits flipped in the na version i keep trying to keep my self convinced to wait for safer methods and roms to get released but i miss root so much...

Well besides that and making sure you have enought battery life this is very safe. I flashed like 20 other failed attempts of custom recovery and this like 2-3 times getting it 100% correct.

Yep full UK ROM pre rooted since apparently the r in sm-t210r stands for restricted.

can i do this on SM-T210? (Hong Kong/ Taiwan version)

I've done ist successfully on a SM-T210 sold in Germany...
Only thing i noticed is a slight problem with GPS.
It takes long to find sats and even after a minute or so only 3
sats were found. With the "stock" Rom around 10 sats were found
in less than a minute...
Other than that it works fine ! Congrats !
Cant wait to see custom roms coming...
Regards
Joachim

Thanks man. Already have the first release ready. Just working on a functional recovery.

INSTRUCTIONS!
1.Your Device must be in DOWNLOAD mode to use ODIN.
2.Get your phone into Download mode by holding vol down and power.
3.THEN connect your phone to the USB. (some folks have had luck doing it in reverse..connecting the USB then Power and vol down)
4.Open Odin and load each file with it's corresponding field..PIT,PDA,CSC etc. (In this case we just use the PDA and PIT)
5.Don't check anything else, the other two boxes should be checked by default (Auto Reboot and Reset Time)
6.Hit "start"! be patient!
NOTE: COM3 worked fine for me. COM should not matter as long as you are using the correct drivers.
Finally we get some U.S love from samsung firmwares.
For those looking the Nandroid method it is in the post below but only recovers ,system, data, cache and datadata. Not your kernel/recovery or BASEBAND/RADIO (Modem.bin)

To Restore
1. Make sure you have clockwork recovery installed (To get Clockwork see this thread)
2. Extract files to /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/
3. Boot into recovery and select NANDroid and restore
Make sure to check USB debugging to enable ADB access after a restore.
This has been confirmed as WORKING before I uploaded. Any issues please post in this thread. Check MD5 as always after a download.
This will allow those that got stuck on a pre-release or EU ROM to go back to the shipped release TMO ROM for the Vibrant (JFD)
All the thanks goes to Koush for getting fakeflash working on the Vibrant allowing this to happen.
Came from the pre-release?
Flash the software in the first post via ODIN. The Pre-Release is garbage get back to JFD!!

Maybe we should consolidate all of the stock rooted roms to one thread and users can report any problems with any of them.

Great. Lets see if it restores the people who were fooling with the pre-release and had to update to the EU version.

Dr. Ketan,
Black screen no detection no recovery
First make sure your battery is not completely empty. Try to charge with external charger or manage for other battery
Still nothing then manage for JIG as last option
Dr. KEtan,
I bricked the note with 95% then removed battery to prevent drain while briked. Will try JIG tonight., Will let u know

What do you think it is related with brick? Is it your fault of kernel or ROM fault. It is really annoying situation... Im sorry for your loss man...
Im not really an expert on android, but i would consider myself an advanced user so correct me if im wrong....
Couldnt it be, that the boot.img from the rom got corrupted somehow and thats the reason why it hanged while flashing it? Coz as of how i understood what the boot.img is used for, it would explain why u cant boot in recovery/dl-mode. Simply coz there is no bootloader on ur phone. Just an idea...

Yeah, I agree, if you tell them you just had to do a factory reset because it got really slow and laggy than they shouldn't have a problem. They wouldn't bill you either unless they had prior authorization.

First off before you start quoting other threads in other fourms, take a minute to get your facts in order.. Miui for the note has not been released to the public as of this date because it has the possibility to brick you device as it has the unsafe Samsung kernel (yes the same kernel as your stock note ), so if your running Miui on your note than your running a leaked version (then in that case you should know the risk involved) that is either running the stock kernel or it has one of the hydracore versions as it is the only option miui has at the moment unless your on one of the cm versions. So not defending either the rom/kernel he was trying to flash or what he was coming from as he really doesn't state either .. it would help if he provided such information. Sorry to the owner but before you get your device JTAGGED you may want to check with a samasung service center because the JTAGGED will void your warranty..

No ,CWM will not erase or even touch the bootloaders ,only PC ODIN can do that ,boot.img refers to the kernel ,I've had a corrupted boot.img flash once ,easily solved via PC ODIN ,the phone would start up and show the logo but nothing more if that happens .I doubt that's the case here but you could try a blind flash in PC odin and see if that works .

How you explain the phone stays black screen after hanging in CWM with boot.img? U suggest my board broke by accident? Someone can explain?
Could it be,
that,,,, i forgot to reboot after flashing the Hydrakernel... and eMMC bricked the bootloader perhaps? since the bootloader is stored on the chip as well?

[Q] Tab stuck on samsung logo after flashing, need help

My sister owns this tab, and she wanted me to update its firmware from stock 2.2 (froyo) to 2.3.6 (gingerbread). I followed a guide on youtube, and I downloaded the files provided in the description tab. The flashing went smoothly, but after rebooting, the tab won't get past the samsung logo. Have I killed her tab? If I did, she'd kill me too Please help..
Additional info:
Model: GT-P1000
FCC ID: A3LGTP1000
I think she bought the tab in germany, if so then what firmware should I download?
Is it possible to just download any FW file to use for flashing? If not can anyone please direct me to the proper firmware?
I've been googling for a day..Download 2 firmwares but still no luck.. also tried wiping user data and cache.
Thanks for any help..much appreciated!
You need to restore via Odin first download Odin then head over to this link
http://allkindfile.blogspot.com/2012/07/odin-flasher-and-original-ops-pit-file.html?m=1 scroll down to the bottom and find the Samsung galaxy tab pit for the gt-p1000 after that go to this link http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and search your tablet in the search box and it should say Germany on it download that file. Boit into download mode i believe its voljme down + power. Open Odin and click pit and open the pit file you downloaded. Then click PDA and find the firmware you got from the last link. Then just hit start and you should be good to go

Thank you very much atlast someone replied!
Anyhow i downloaded the pit(s) for my device, but i got 4 pit files, (gt-p1000_mr, pit-909, pit-EUR and pit-p1) which one do i have to use?
Also i already downloaded 2 germany firmwares, one is released 2011, the other 2012. Theyre both at version 2.3.6, should i use them? or do i have to download a 2.2 froyo firmware (you said restore)
I'm really confused, but i'll try them all now. thanks very much!!!!!!

I forgot to mention did you boot into recovery and wipe data and see if you got it to boot? Often times after an update you have to boot into stock recovery and wipe cache and factory reset but if that failes just use the pit gt-p1000 and the firmware I would try froyo then if that fails to work do 2011 then if that don't work try 2012 but always use the pit file if none of these work then it means your internal sdcard gave out. Also before trying all of this try doing a factory reset in recovery and if you get errors post a screenshot of it so I get a better idea of what happened. Hope this helps
EDIT: sorry just read the part where u already did the factory reset and wipe cache was it in stock recovery? And did you get any errors?

Yes i did try factory resetting and wiping off cache data every flash/recovery i do, but it doesnt help. when i reset userdata, it always says that it cannot access "system/csc/via/something", and rfs format failed on /dev/block/stl10. I know i'm doing something wrong and i just cant figure it out because there are thousands of threads here, sticky posts doesn't help..im no techie guy but im trying to deal with the situation with positive thinking.. anyway thanks for the help bud, please bear with me until i fix this off..thank you so much..

Oh I see what happened has this tablet previously been rooted or on a custom ROM? Because normally when on a custom ROM specially with our tablets the partition format changes from rfs to ext4 because its faster and more reliable. That being said what your experiencing is your tablet trying to boot but its not the right format because touch wiz only runs on rfs format. This happened to my tablet too when I tried to restore to stock and all I did was flash the pit and the stock firmware in Odin and it booted right up. Took my tablet about 20 minutes the first time to boot up though but it eventually did.

oh, is that the case? but my sister's tab isnt rooted nor had any custom roms before i flashed it. it was on stock firmware.. would it really take that long (20mins+) for a newly flashed device to boot up? approximately how long would should i keep it stuck at the samsung logo before i quit? im willing to wait hours, just for the tab to work. im gonna flash it again using 2.3.6 gingerbread firmware and a pit file using odin, and gonna let it stand until i wake up later and report the results. thank you so much!

i fixed it, finally.
i followed instructions from the Overcome Rom 4.0 tutorials by sos_sifou which is located on the samsung galaxy tab general forum.
first, i downloaded the GB-stock-safe-v5 rom, flash the pda, pit, and the phone modem.bin file. i think what my error really is was i wasn't adding a modem file. after flashing, still i got a couple of errors in recovery mode BUT after it restarted by itself, it booted right away, no 20 minute waiting time. then from there, i was really happy that i managed to fix it but i had gone for a little more. i installed overcome kernel and rom which i was glad i did, its really fast now, and really stable. instructions are easy to follow, you cant miss anything but as pre se, you have to follow everything carefully.
thanks anyway for all the help dude, i wish you also could fix your bricked tab? i read your thread a while back, good luck to you

Ensure that you flashed a correct ROM for your tablet model, and that you cleared data when you flashed (from recovery).

it was 2.3.3
Restock. Then install cwm, then restore from nandroid. You can just restore nandroid from a different partition scheme.

As Priyana said you have to restock your system if you want to downgrade from jb based rom to gb which are not working on the same file system, try the overcome guide to do so.

Attached is the Overcome guide, after extracting and executing index.html, go to paragraph Re-“Stocking” Yer System… and follow the instructions, make sure to choose the appropriate files for your device, you can either preserve the GB stock rom or install the overcome custom rom.

The guy was trying to help, why be rude? Anyways, it is only supposed to go into the PDA/AP section. Boot into download mode and flash it. If it fails, make sure you're using the cable from Samsung that came with your phone. If you don't have it, get one (Not a cheap one). If it happens to say fail again, please tell us what it says in that little box so we can at least know what's up. Thank you.
EDIT: Also make sure you don't have the OTA update for 5.0. Otherwise you're stuck and not downgrading any time soon.

If you extract one of the files it has the folders to go in all four Odin slots but it won't fix your problem find the tar version which someone was nice enough to post for you .
