V!sk Kernel for Xperia TX
Power by EXR Team
--------introduce------
Hi friends, First,Sorry for my bad English.
I compile this kernel for Xperia TX,And i want to share it here,
Hope you like this work my friends:victory:
--------Feaeurts------
compile form 9.1.B.1.67 sources
startup script (init.d) support!
TWRP 2.5.0.0(VOL- button to setup)
CWM 6.0.3.7(VOL+ button to setup) (I build this Recovery from the newly CM10.2 sources)
CPU bootup at 384Mhz to 1512Mhz
CPU overclock upto 1809Mhz!
smooth scaling along CPU frequency table
192MHz lower cpu frequency bin
kernel level Sound Contro(v2.1)
added intelli_plug (v1.6) kernel level multi-core controller (replacement for mpdecision)
with ECO-Mode!eco-mode disables one cores(On TX) and work with one core! hence giving better battery life when performance is not required!
I include the scripts to Contor eco mode and intelli_plug, After you flash my kernel, you can see the folder named "Visk_ECO_Ctrl" in the root dir (/ ),and there are 4 .sh scripts can be use to contor this mode.
Cortex-A15 optimizations for compiling
USB force FastCharge(allow users to force USB charging at 1000mA)
MSM CPU Freq Limiter
lowered CPU undervolt voltage to 700mV
CPU governors:
msm-dcvs
intellidemand
interactive
ondemand
wheatly
performance
I/O schedulers:

V!sk Kernel for Xperia TX]
I was waiting from a long time for a kernel for my TX under B.1.67 SW. Finally it arrived, thanks to you!. I have tested your kernel with Timin8 for B.1.67 rooted deodexed rom in the last 9 hours and everything works O.K.
-Boot: O.K, with the last TWRP and CWM
-Touchscreen: O.K. Vibrator: O.K. Display: O.K. Hardware keys: O.K.
-GPS: O.K. WiFi: O.K. Front and rear camera: O.K Sensors: O.K
-GSM: O.K. Connectivity with PC: O.K. Charging: O.K.
So, everything works O.K, without any problems, and I wanna thank you, bro, thousand times!
In the next few hours I will test some benchmarks and I will tell you the results!
Thanks once again and I hope you will continue your work for the Xperia TX community!!!

Hi, Xperia-Lover,
Now is 36 hours from when I've installed your Kernel under Timin8R rooted deodexed ROM. Everything works OK. No SOD, no blockage etc.
I have tested with a lot of tests (vellamo, antutu, quadrant, gpu benchmark, smartbench, starling benchmark, etc). The results are a little better under 1512 MHz than the stock B.1.67 kernel at the same frequence. For example I obtained 6069 under Quadrant Professional 2.1.1 (compared with 5850 under stock B.1.67 Kernel), also I obtained 16699 with Antutu 4.0.1 (compared with 16200 under stock kernel). So, results are good, (maybe the device couldn't more).
But, impressive is the stability at 1,8 GHz, for hours. Conclusion: your kernel is stable, very useful, good for dayly work. :good:
Congratulations and many thanks for your work!

I'm testing. Thank for your work.

Thank you very much bro!!! I will add more feature for my kernel in coming, And your test work are great!

Working fine, no error. Maybe sony's kernel is very good so I can't feel different between two kernel.

Anyone, can you provide some compatible rom (rooted, deodexed)? thanks

The most important for Xperia-Lover's kernel is not the increased (a little) of performance, but rooting, the last TWRP and CWM (with all their facilities) and of course, the stability, even at overclocking. And, at this moment, it is the only custom kernel for Xperia TX, 9.1.B.1.67 FW.

I think just like Doom's kernel, you need to edit the 99vdd file in ini.d folder. Follow Doom's instruction in his thread.

Because i think your problem like my problem. When i rooted phone by doomlord tool kit and intervention in the system, it automatically reboot. Ex: edit build.prop, delete app system, play game a long time. I think my problem is tool root so I've found other tool root and it's working perfect.
You can try it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2334552.
I don't know why, maybe you should ask the developers ^___^.
Thanks for listen to me.

Just asking, did you build it purely from source or used some kernels like fire kernel to build for example ? I'm keen to know. Because I absolutely love dragonn's fire kernel. And if you've used this as a base, I'm sure that your tweaks would have made it very better. And how do you think is the kernel's performance as compared to that of fire kernel ? Eager to try this.

This is [BOOT IMAGE][GT-P31XX] KK-Boot - Custom boot image for stock 4.1.1/4.1.2 ROM and [KERNEL][GT-P31XX][JB][4.2.2]CyanogenMod 10.1 unofficial kernel 3.0.31 combination, plus cm-10.1-blackhawk commit on github:
Remove Samsung debugging code in ext4 filesystem, inline with omapzoom
Initializing Android USB depending on the rom type, big thanks to gokhanmoral. This is the key of single kernel. Multiboot support not so far, you can reuse my kernel for multiboot (if you can)
Compiler optimizations
Kernel without CGROUPS support
Using SLQB memory allocator
Decrease MPU, IVA, and GPU voltage
Adapt and fix codeworkx's sysfs for controlling pivot mode. This is the key of landscape kernel
Stop the spam from audio driver
An exprimental config, remove a lot of debugging config from kernel: 775MB RAM
Stock JB 4.1.1/4.1.2 ROM: Using a slim version of busybox (from gokhanmoral's ramfs for siyahkernel-sgs3), bash and nano binary, sysrw and sysro script removed. GPU clock @ 384MHz + 2D GPU rendering, stock ROM really need an overclocked GPU.
CM/CM based ROM: As usual, change ro.sf.hwrotation value from 270 to 0 in /system/build.prop will transform your device to landscape mode, a workaround fix for boot animation graphic glitch. GPU clock @ 307MHz + 2D GPU rendering + 16bit transparency + disabled dithering + purging assets allowed
/system/etc/init.post_boot.sh is yours kernel tuning template. But remember, do not force your system too much until you are sure that your device is able to handle it.
Flash this using the latest CWM, CWM Touch, Philz Touch, or TWRP at your own risk!

Yeah, android reserve RAM for itself, driver and co. Its the same thing with internal storage, i mean, when you have a 8 GB Tab than you have only 4,5 GB for yourself, the rest is for the system.

Thx I want to try this kernel for Slim rom 4.2.2 ,I and how must I change the value for rotation.
where can I find this on mine rom when I have instald this Kernel ``ro.sf.hwrotation``
CM/CM based ROM: As usual, change ro.sf.hwrotation value from 270 to 0 will transform your device to landscape mode, fix boot animation graphic glitch.
Thx
On /system you find a file called "build.prop" there you must change this things.

Perfect,thx it works:good:
I tried It with PSN>> Stock Rom >> and it's running good for now ... keep the good works
My feedback:
ROM is running smoother now, I'm using CyanogenMod 10.1, 22/04 nightly. All animations seems to be a lot smoother, powering the screen and turning it off feels a bit more responsive now, aswell touchscreen. Can't say about battery life because haven't used the tab a lot, but I can imagine that is better than never.
Thanks Ketut! Awesome work, as always!
Awesome! Only tested on Slim so far but it is working great here!
I never tried Cubic traffic control before, and now I am wondering why not. What an improvement over Westwood, at least in browsing around these forums!
Great job ketut.kumajaya! Thanks.
P.S. I have always hoped that you named your kernel Blackhawk because you are a fan of the hockey team the Chicago Blackhawks like me! Either way you're still a good man!

By this kernel we can increase Mic gain in 4.4 Rom so volume in video recording can be increased and overclocking on stock Rom is a pain in a** because of many thermal protections but in cm Rom there are less so we can bring out the real power of this chipset with this kernel an on cm roms the battery life is way better than stock Rom and with this kernel we can undervolt which will increase the battery life and in future we may not get official 4.4 so after this long speech you all will know why this kernel is needed for our device

Yes, It work only with CM and AOKP roms. DoomLorD's kernel work with stock, but roms which based on CM11 and AOKP are interesting.

it will be nice to have such a kernel on a stock rom i don`t use cm yet cuz in recording the volume is too low ... and the photos i take don`t see on full screen .. tha`t very annoying for me .. anyway if i move again on CM I would definitely such a kernel !
Sorry for my english
By this kernel we can increase Mic gain in 4.4 Rom so volume in video recording can be increased and overclocking on stock Rom is a pain in a** because of many thermal protections but in cm Rom there are less so we can bring out the real power of this chipset with this kernel an on cm roms the battery life is way better than stock Rom and with this kernel we can undervolt which will increase the battery life and in future we may not get official 4.4 so after this long speech you all will know why this kernel is needed for our device

Hehe, @kostazol nice one
I already told you I will try to make a port of MEOW for this device.
Although, I don't want you to raise donations before I start working on it.
Donating is ALWAYS optional and only a sign of appreciation about the work that was done.
Also, this does not increase my motivation in any way. It's more of a time issue.
I will try to release a test build in the coming week. Please stay tuned and have some patience.
Thanks

btw, can he backport f2fs, fix the sim and breathing light as well?
Ok, I made a first attempt to port it.
Please test:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0sY8nIwzcLrMk5scWpZRXlNQUU/edit?usp=sharing
Requirements:
Ofcourse, unlocked bootloader
A CM11/AOSP 4.4 based KITKAT ROM (NOT FOR STOCK ROMS)
Install:
Flash the .zip from your recovery
Reboot
Notes:
This is the first version, altough it should work fine, don't expect it to work very stable.
This will replace your recovery with the newest TWRP
Please report the first findings here. When it's graduated I will make a seperate thread for it in the development section.

Does this kernel have doubleTap2Wake and Sweep2Wake ?
Big thanks for you. It works on cm11(fxp), beanstalk and cyanfox.
After 5 attempts beanstalk work.
Bugs:
kernel has very low speed before loading bacause of it i can't use recovery. Recovery loading 5 minutes and after it i have freezes in recovery.
TWRP has resoltion 1920x1080, but display of ZR has resolution 1280x720 because of it we can use this TWRP(many buttons located outside the screen)
loading on cm11 and beanstalk more than 2 minutes. ( it is normal?). It start with freezes(on animation logo) after freezes leave me.
It work with cyanfox but it start more than cm11 and beanstalk.(it takes 10 minutes in the fist boot, after 1-2 minutes)
CPU frequency does not increase more than 1134mhz in interactive
CPU frequency does not increase more than 1134mhz even if I put min and max as 1728mhz and the recovery is working I use a theme for twrp because it is not resized but it is too slow it hangs a lot but flashing is fine and booting time is too much and fauxsound is working great and no option for changing GPU governor

He can't test it because he have xperia Z.
Please try it:
You need wipe cache after install, also unplug usb, and wait 10-15 minutes(the fist loading). I don't know why but while it boot it has freezes and it doesn't have freezes after loading. Other loading needs about 2-4 minutes

I also have this problem, and i think starting frequency is low, because of it we have freezes during loading.
Aight, as I expected it has some problems, but at least it boots and basic features work. Will do my best to solve some of the problems in the coming week. Please keep reporting the problems here. The next version will be released in a new thread in the development section. When it's the time, I'll announce that here as well.

It work greatly with CyanFox(confirmed). New version doesn't work.((((crying: Dark screen and boot-loop. ( I made wipe cashe after installation.)
P.s. V3 work with cyanfox, but v4 doesn't work. We don't have OmniRom and PAC rom for Sony xperia ZR, but i hope to see it.

How long does it take to boot?
Sent from my Xperia ZR using Tapatalk
If it's slow after first boot, just give it some time.. It will be faster after some use.
If not, reboot it twice.
First boot might take up to 5 minutes
Can someone confirm if sweep2wake and dt2wake are working?

You can download this file:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/t2pds6e00vfu534/aokp_cwm_touch.zip
and flash it in recovery. I pull the kernel and wifi driver files from AOKP rom and compiled this zip for my use in case of anything goes wrong in flashing stuff like kernel.
If you're using other rom (not aokp), you can open up my zip and pull the respective files from the rom.zip you are using and replace those files in my zip.
Or if you dont understand me, you can simply flash back your rom and your phone will be able to boot again.

Thanks for the reply. I flashed the boot.img from the ROM's zip and then got into recovery and with a nandroid restore, so its good right now. However, I am very eager to try this kernel (once it gets fixed), mainly because of the overclocking part.

Futures:
- under voltage support
- gamma control (to use it you need to run insmod /system/lib/modules/msm_kcal_ctrl.ko or add such file in init.d:
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
insmod /system/lib/modules/msm_kcal_ctrl.ko
- sound control (faux code)
- gpu oc to 450Mhz
- gpu voltage control (you can access it via /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/vdd_table/gpu_mv_table default values are 945 mV, 1050 mV, 1150 mV to change the voltage run for example
Code:
echo "935 950 1150" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/vdd_table/gpu_mv_table
- cpuquiet for best cpu hotplug policy, I suggest to use load_stats for best balance between battery live and performance
- cpu governors (default preservative):
preservative for best battery live without losing any smoothies in system UI and ever day usage! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50173462&postcount=662
inteliactive for best performance
- LoUIS cache
- kernel runs in NEON mode
- optimized ARM RWSEM algorithm
- memutils optimization
- uksm - optimized RAM usage, using only a little bit of cpu power for that
- dynamic writeback - dynamically manage the dirty page writebacks with two different intervals, one when the screen is on and another when the screen is off. more info http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42354290#post42354290
- interactive gpu governor
- Linaro and compile optimization -Ofast
- other small changes, to read in github commits
Big thanks goes to:
- rebelos for SlimKat (base source for this kernel)
- DooMLoRD, alnikki25k, jeroenqui, aidfarh for they kernel for yuga, often explored they repos for interesting things and changes
- faux123, ak and francisfranco for they kernel for other devices, I have taken much from they work
- And others with I not remember now!
-
FAQ:
- this kernel should run on most AOSP 4.4 based ROM's but I am testing it only on SlimKAT, report on with ROM's it works too
- for now no OC support - Z is fast enough phone, but is is getting hot on high usage and eats the battery fast so I don't think OC is really usefully
- on default settings you will got lower benchmark score in for example Antutu it got ~17k instant 20k - this is because we are using preservative cpu governor as default but since they are no lags in every day usage I don't care about it! Change to inteliactive if you want higher benchmark scores

Changelog:
v0.3.1
- fixed wakeup gestures - now they should work
v0.3
- gpu voltage control
- force run all cores on one freq when user sets other min/max freq
- small gpu code cleanup form xzaosp

No problem, i had a feeling it may have been ROM specific, any way to 'fuse' the ramdisk with the kernel similar to how alnikki25k does it, he has managed to keep compatibility by doing it this way, although there are still some graphical issues, which I think have been resolved, but not built / released since.
Either way, thanks for your work. I may have to switch ROMS, or wait for a solution.

I know what about are you talking - this needs are reworked flashable zip with generates the boot.img by using ramdisk form you old ROM with zImage (with is the kernel) when you flash it. I will provide such zip, but as you says this will not fix all problems.

Working nicely on PA 4.3
