Futures:
- under voltage support
- gamma control (to use it you need to run insmod /system/lib/modules/msm_kcal_ctrl.ko or add such file in init.d:
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
insmod /system/lib/modules/msm_kcal_ctrl.ko
- sound control (faux code)
- gpu oc to 450Mhz
- gpu voltage control (you can access it via /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/vdd_table/gpu_mv_table default values are 945 mV, 1050 mV, 1150 mV to change the voltage run for example
Code:
echo "935 950 1150" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/vdd_table/gpu_mv_table
- cpuquiet for best cpu hotplug policy, I suggest to use load_stats for best balance between battery live and performance
- cpu governors (default preservative):
preservative for best battery live without losing any smoothies in system UI and ever day usage! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50173462&postcount=662
inteliactive for best performance
- LoUIS cache
- kernel runs in NEON mode
- optimized ARM RWSEM algorithm
- memutils optimization
- uksm - optimized RAM usage, using only a little bit of cpu power for that
- dynamic writeback - dynamically manage the dirty page writebacks with two different intervals, one when the screen is on and another when the screen is off. more info http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42354290#post42354290
- interactive gpu governor
- Linaro and compile optimization -Ofast
- other small changes, to read in github commits
Big thanks goes to:
- rebelos for SlimKat (base source for this kernel)
- DooMLoRD, alnikki25k, jeroenqui, aidfarh for they kernel for yuga, often explored they repos for interesting things and changes
- faux123, ak and francisfranco for they kernel for other devices, I have taken much from they work
- And others with I not remember now!
-
FAQ:
- this kernel should run on most AOSP 4.4 based ROM's but I am testing it only on SlimKAT, report on with ROM's it works too
- for now no OC support - Z is fast enough phone, but is is getting hot on high usage and eats the battery fast so I don't think OC is really usefully
- on default settings you will got lower benchmark score in for example Antutu it got ~17k instant 20k - this is because we are using preservative cpu governor as default but since they are no lags in every day usage I don't care about it! Change to inteliactive if you want higher benchmark scores

Hey, you made my Day.
Downloading and testing on 4.4.2 slimkat weekly 4.9.
I will report back soon.

MY configuration
Governor : Preservative
Scheduler: Fiops
Fsync : On
Cpu Quiet : load_stats
Mp decision : off
the only missing thing was Double tap to wake..but that's not an issue its running smoothly..:good::good::good::good::good::fingers-crossed:

Excellent, will give it a shot on Vanir 4.4.2.
EDIT:
Doesnt work with Vanir, get past boot logo, during boot animation, it then goes into a boot loop, without the kernel logo being displayed again, screen gets lit (although still black)and just loops on and off like this,
Cheers

Very Nice. Tested on Pabx rom and it boots but serious issue when you hit the power button screen goes black but is still on Baseband unknown so wifi and cellular radio dont work

Yes, you have post your kernel in the new thread Very good news!
Thanks... Very thanks man
anything other good has future ?
* Gamma control
* Sweep 2 Wake
* Doubletap 2 wake
* USB Fastcharge

usb fastcharge is already , about s2w and dt2w in next version I think. With Gamma Control I will see what can I do.
It is beta because it wasn't tested by many users for now.

MOEW does not work with Vanir, im trying to get logcat during boot, ill also grab a syslog and upload, hopefully it helps. I managed to logcat usin adb and write output to PC, but dont know if it stopped once the device booted up with your kernel.
Will upload shortly
EDIT

It looks like booth of your ROM's uses different gpu driver with isn't compatible with my, unfortunately I can not do much for now without breaking the support for CM/SlimKat and other ROM's on they it works.

No problem, i had a feeling it may have been ROM specific, any way to 'fuse' the ramdisk with the kernel similar to how alnikki25k does it, he has managed to keep compatibility by doing it this way, although there are still some graphical issues, which I think have been resolved, but not built / released since.
Either way, thanks for your work. I may have to switch ROMS, or wait for a solution.

I know what about are you talking - this needs are reworked flashable zip with generates the boot.img by using ramdisk form you old ROM with zImage (with is the kernel) when you flash it. I will provide such zip, but as you says this will not fix all problems.

Great work @dragonnn!
Working nicely on PA 4.3

This is a fantastic kernel...working on AOKP , thanks a lot @dragonnn

[KERNEL][v1.52-STOCK/v2.15-CM10.1-10.2/REV1-STOCK/CM10.2] PH85 REVOLUTION [STOPPED]

OK as i promised i built my kernel.
Before anything i want to thank iodak which gives us nice codes and nice ideas i never took alone, laufersteppenwolf and kholk.
The code is substantially the iodak v1 code but i added some bugfixes from externity project and some Werewolf kernel features.
I'm not the "author" but just for the community i "mixed" all the best i can found actually in the net and during the time i'll research and add some interesting feature i'll found.
The new Revolution version is based on Demetris codes (Optimus Prime-play) but indeed i mixed most of the codes i found on the net.
CHANGELOG and UPDATES
Initial features:
- Same as iodak v1
- CPU at 1.7 ghz
- Optimized ksem algorithm [by Ezeekiel]
- Gpu clock interactive regulation, max frequence 766 mhz but i suggest to not go more than 600 mhz
- Added gaming and pmc cpu governors [Thanks Laufersteppenwolf]
- Temp throttle skin raised at 48 ° C and cpu throttle frequence increased at 1300 mhz
- Lot of bugfixes from Linux developers
V1.5

- raised voltages
- added fastcharge
- rebased all cpu clocks
- unlinked gpu
- raised some clocks
- compiled with Linaro toolchain gcc 4.7.3 13.04
V2
- Various bugfixes from different authors in the net
- Lot of commits from TripNraver optimized kernel for HTC ONE X
- Zram updated with Snappy google compression, it should give more i/o speed
- araragi features with the new inspired by kholk Livecolor code
- HTC ONE X clock table
- LP core voltage table editable in Trickster mod
- Enabled Swap
- Enabled 100 200 and 300 mhz clock step usable
- OC for gpu and ram
- Compiled with Linaro toolchain 4.7.4 and optimizations
- UKSM script ported from 3.0 kernel
- Restored stock thermal framework
V2.1
- New thermal tweaks from demetris
- balanced cpuquiet governor from demetris
- enabled zcache (thanks faux)
- Xpad support
- some other thing not worth to be explained here
- FOR ANDROID 4.3 only atm !!!!!
REVOLUTION 1
- Rebased entirely on Demetris' Optimus Codes
- Less controls in trickstermod, just cpu Voltage

First a question: is it for stock or CM?
Then, do I get you right that this is kernel is more-less cherry-picked?
But anyways, thanks for your work

If cherry picked stay for "i use your sources because i'm not able to code by myself", yes it is
Anyway yes almost it is.

Yeah, that's what it means
It comes mainly from git, where you've got the ability to "cherry-pick" single commits
BTW, your github it down

I not use exactly cherry pic function i use the old fashioned way copy-paste because i feel more comfortable with

Theorically raising the throttle temps this Tegra 3 platform can reach the One X (customized) level but this phone overheats too soon so i tried to setup the best i can without raising too much the temperatures limit.
The GPU clock doesn't give increase in perfomance, i tested it before editing the sources, even if you raise all GPU frequency at 600 i guess for the same thermal reason.
So for now i think i found the best overlock/battery drain compromise without compromise stability.
We all know this nvidia platform could indeed give much more performance with a better thermal cooling.

Hi, Xperia-Lover,
Now is 36 hours from when I've installed your Kernel under Timin8R rooted deodexed ROM. Everything works OK. No SOD, no blockage etc.
I have tested with a lot of tests (vellamo, antutu, quadrant, gpu benchmark, smartbench, starling benchmark, etc). The results are a little better under 1512 MHz than the stock B.1.67 kernel at the same frequence. For example I obtained 6069 under Quadrant Professional 2.1.1 (compared with 5850 under stock B.1.67 Kernel), also I obtained 16699 with Antutu 4.0.1 (compared with 16200 under stock kernel). So, results are good, (maybe the device couldn't more).
But, impressive is the stability at 1,8 GHz, for hours. Conclusion: your kernel is stable, very useful, good for dayly work. :good:
Congratulations and many thanks for your work!
I'm testing. Thank for your work.
Thank you very much bro!!! I will add more feature for my kernel in coming, And your test work are great!

The most important for Xperia-Lover's kernel is not the increased (a little) of performance, but rooting, the last TWRP and CWM (with all their facilities) and of course, the stability, even at overclocking. And, at this moment, it is the only custom kernel for Xperia TX, 9.1.B.1.67 FW.

I think just like Doom's kernel, you need to edit the 99vdd file in ini.d folder. Follow Doom's instruction in his thread.

Because i think your problem like my problem. When i rooted phone by doomlord tool kit and intervention in the system, it automatically reboot. Ex: edit build.prop, delete app system, play game a long time. I think my problem is tool root so I've found other tool root and it's working perfect.
You can try it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2334552.
I don't know why, maybe you should ask the developers ^___^.
Thanks for listen to me.

It depends if you already have CWM or TWRP recovery installed. If you have, you shouldn't need to flash via fastboot.

By this kernel we can increase Mic gain in 4.4 Rom so volume in video recording can be increased and overclocking on stock Rom is a pain in a** because of many thermal protections but in cm Rom there are less so we can bring out the real power of this chipset with this kernel an on cm roms the battery life is way better than stock Rom and with this kernel we can undervolt which will increase the battery life and in future we may not get official 4.4 so after this long speech you all will know why this kernel is needed for our device

Hehe, @kostazol nice one
I already told you I will try to make a port of MEOW for this device.
Although, I don't want you to raise donations before I start working on it.
Donating is ALWAYS optional and only a sign of appreciation about the work that was done.
Also, this does not increase my motivation in any way. It's more of a time issue.
I will try to release a test build in the coming week. Please stay tuned and have some patience.
Thanks

Ok, I made a first attempt to port it.
Please test:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0sY8nIwzcLrMk5scWpZRXlNQUU/edit?usp=sharing
Requirements:
Ofcourse, unlocked bootloader
A CM11/AOSP 4.4 based KITKAT ROM (NOT FOR STOCK ROMS)
Install:
Flash the .zip from your recovery
Reboot
Notes:
This is the first version, altough it should work fine, don't expect it to work very stable.
This will replace your recovery with the newest TWRP
Please report the first findings here. When it's graduated I will make a seperate thread for it in the development section.

Does this kernel have doubleTap2Wake and Sweep2Wake ?
Big thanks for you. It works on cm11(fxp), beanstalk and cyanfox.
After 5 attempts beanstalk work.
Bugs:
kernel has very low speed before loading bacause of it i can't use recovery. Recovery loading 5 minutes and after it i have freezes in recovery.
TWRP has resoltion 1920x1080, but display of ZR has resolution 1280x720 because of it we can use this TWRP(many buttons located outside the screen)
loading on cm11 and beanstalk more than 2 minutes. ( it is normal?). It start with freezes(on animation logo) after freezes leave me.
It work with cyanfox but it start more than cm11 and beanstalk.(it takes 10 minutes in the fist boot, after 1-2 minutes)
CPU frequency does not increase more than 1134mhz in interactive
CPU frequency does not increase more than 1134mhz even if I put min and max as 1728mhz and the recovery is working I use a theme for twrp because it is not resized but it is too slow it hangs a lot but flashing is fine and booting time is too much and fauxsound is working great and no option for changing GPU governor

He can't test it because he have xperia Z.
Please try it:
You need wipe cache after install, also unplug usb, and wait 10-15 minutes(the fist loading). I don't know why but while it boot it has freezes and it doesn't have freezes after loading. Other loading needs about 2-4 minutes

I also have this problem, and i think starting frequency is low, because of it we have freezes during loading.
Aight, as I expected it has some problems, but at least it boots and basic features work. Will do my best to solve some of the problems in the coming week. Please keep reporting the problems here. The next version will be released in a new thread in the development section. When it's the time, I'll announce that here as well.

[KERNEL][13/08/16][CM][UT]KTO Kenzo Kernel[Stable]V1.3

By flashing this kernel, you accept your fate.
This is my personal project, because of the lack of any custom kernels that had the features I want. So let me introduce myself. First of all, I'm noob in kernel developing. I've been using many great kernels on my Desire HD and Nexus 4. I've been hoping for such a kernel for our devices for the last 3 months but as it seems, more time is spent on cooking roms instead of kernel development. So well, here we are. I've been working on that for the last two weeks so, this is probably stable, but the alpha tag will stay at least till more people confirm that it works on different roms.
Initial kernel features:
Compiled with stock toolchain (for now)
Disabled software CRC + option to turn it on
Disabled fsync + option to turn it on
Fixes for high cpu load times, which can cause some governors to not work as they should
Disabled zram - with 2/3 GB of ram in our devices, we don't really need that.
Added Kernel Samepage Merging - off by default
Added FIOPS and SIO i/o schedulers
Added ZZmove and ElementalX cpu governors
Added toggle for Touch boost - you can now turn that off.
Added full KCAL display settings support.
Other optimizations
Safe roms confirmed to be working with the kernel
Official AICP - tested by me
Official RR - tested by @nexuspur (Huge thanks to you mate!)
AOSP+RRO - tested by @sheshuvadrevu
Official AOKP - tested by @DarkHero140
CM by banmeifyouwant - tested by @CodeBreaker13
DU - tested by @Windslash31 and @DarkHero140
Not safe roms
Mokee - giving bootloops
Santosh's CM13 - giving bootloops.
Flashing Instructions
Flash only if you're using CM based roms that follows the official CM device/kernel/proprietary repos! That kernel IS NOT FOR MIUI or AOSP Rom
Make backup of boot in twrp
Flash the kernel zip and reboot
About feature requests
I'm sure that many of you will ask for feature A B C. Please don't mention wake gestures as dt2w and swipe2wake, because I will NOT add them. To rework all the gestures for that is a massive job. Even if it was an easy commit to cherry-pick, I still wont add it, because this is battery drainer. We have FP sensor so use it, or wake the device with the power/volume buttons.
Everything else as request is welcomed, but not guaranteed that it will get in the kernel. Remember this is my project and I'll be adding only features that I find useful.

Changed the toolchain from google's default to @DespairFactor UberToolchain 4.9. Sadly I get bootloops after Miui logo with 5.X so can't even get a logcat. Will debug that in the future.
KTO Stable 1.2
Unlocked 1440MHz for a53 and 1804MHz for a72 cores freqs, just like on Xiaomi's original kernel. (Thanks for the tip @Umang96)
QC 2.0 is added - Haven't seen any change with the stock charger. Temperature is normal. Charging around 1600 mah.
Alucard - tuned one more time for the new freqs.
KTO Stable 1.3
Synched with latest CM sources, so we have new led driver and many bugfixes.
Added hardware CRC32 accelerator
Fixed -2/50% bug for people that had if before
Fixed the sudden 2% battery drop bug
Added power suspend driver
Remove the so called "qc 2.0" fast charging. To be fair, I haven't seen any improvement in charging time, but the batter was going hot. Charge your device overnight.
Some entropy tuning
Other patches for better memory speeds

My mistake. It looks like I got focaltech. Guess I got confused with xiaomi's changes to the atmel folders in their kernel source

That's the initial version, so everything is in the first post. Alpha 1/2/3 were very early testing versions that @nexuspur tested for me on RR rom.
good luck my friend, hope you ll your best, i am testing right now your kernel, seems to be good

The reason I'm asking, is so to know on which rom the kernel is working fine so I could add it on the first post. No one wants bootloops lol
