Notification sounds - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm getting a notification sound like every 30 seconds. My status bar does not have any apps listed when the notification sound goes off. Tried rebooting and all. Anyone having similar issues?
Also how do I see what app is causing the notification without un installing them 1 by 1
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk 2

Yup, same here. Mine are not every 30 seconds, but randomly a few timea per hour. No notification, so not sure what is driving it. Driving me nuts though.

Think I found what caused it. In the Accessibility menu, the repeat notification was set to ON. Turned it off and so far so good.

IPhone constantly telling me "overheating" even though it's not

Ok so having this issue with my phone...for some reason the past few days it constantly giving me an overheating warning...now the hottest my phone had reached was about 115°f under heavy stress...but it's giving me the warning even when the phone temp is in the 70s or 80s f....thought it was Rom related...factory reset a few times and have tried a few rims out...the only thing that has changed is I went from an otterbox commuter to and Uag case...but I just don't understand why it would give me warnings when the phones not even hot
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Have you used an app to monitor the temperature? If you have done a factory reset and have went back to all stock, it might be a defect.

Yeah using gsam....I mean right now I'm surfing and downloading and its sitting at 99°....the phone itself doesn't even feel hot to the touch...I'm wondering if the case is messing with phones warning system
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Check your GSAM alarms. Menu > preferences > alarms > temp higher than... I set it to 48 C. That's about the borderline for me.

12 am notice?

Hey guys... I have my volume all the way up on the gear and notice my phone beeps at midnight the last few nights. It has been on the charger each time and I originally thought it was done charging and that's why it beeped. However, it doesn't seem to be the case. I have hourly notification off on the clock and don't know what setting I have that sets it off at midnight. I have not noticed it at any other time. Anyone experience this or know what it is?

I get a buzz at 12pm also. Usually asleep by 12am but probably then too.
Not sure how this got turned on or how to turn it off.
Ummm... Haven't noticed at noon but will see today.

Check if you have the time set correctly it should go off at noon not 12am check if you have am/pm set correctly

I think the question here is why?? Why did they set an annoying beep to go off at midnight?

Check; settings, clock then hourly alert is unchecked. I never received one yet

I only get it at midnight and not hourly like one of the settings... I actually think I figured it out. It must be my Calander. If I have an all day event, I assume it goes off at midnight since that is the next day. I have nothing in my calendar tomorrow so I will see if it goes off again tonight. If it does, I have no clue what's setting it off.

I have my watch set to vibrate, and I keep getting a quick vibration at noon every day. The display doesn't come on, I don't have anything on my calendar @ noon, and I don't have hourly notifications turned on. Could be happening at midnight too, don't know, I'm generally in bed.

Yeah mine was doing that too. I think if you have an all day event scheduled on your calendar, it beeps/vibrates at midnight.

Screen recording. Volume up plus power at the same time

I've never seen this anywhere, but apparently holding volume up and power at the same time initiates a screen recording mode. Why haven't I seen this mentioned.
It's been posted up before and even in a bunch of online articles. You need the SCR screen recording app in order for it to work though from what I've seen.
Oh. Just never saw it anywhere and have owned about 25 android devices in 4 years. Strange.

the only thing i can find is to do it through adb. can anyone recommend an app from the play store?
Actually, it's volume down and power button at same time to take a screenshot. That's how it works on my N5.

No app needed. Like I just replied, volume down and power button at the same time.

This isn't screenshot. This is screen recording. Not sure if its psx rom only thing or if its across all of kit kat ROMs.

It's a new feature that Google snuck into 4.4. It's been fairly well publicized at this point.

Not sure if its built into psx ROM only, haven't tried on other ROMs. Happened on accident.
Pretty sure its just a psx feature - on my N4 on Rastakat it did nothing, but now that I've flashes PSX on the 4 it works fine. That certainly snuck under the radar from the PSX devs

On most (all?) devices without a removable battery, holding power forces the device to reboot, seeing as you can't simply do a battery pull

So Google place a feature in 4.4 that requires root to work? That's a load of old toss innit.

Screen Wake

I know this is probably a stupid question, but is there a way to get the screen to wake automatically when a new msg comes on like on G2?

Do you download any software? If this problem happens after you download certain software, you had better uninstall it.

Battery not charging properly..how to calibrate!???

I put my n6 to charge last night and it went from 14% to 56% in just 10 minutes. I unplugged it and it went down to 7 percent in 5 minutes. Its been doing that ever since i can't get back to normal. Any ideas. Thanks in advance!

Mine takes about 3 hrs to fully charge which I don't understand if it's suppose to be a fast charge capable.

Yeah. That's the real Turbo charger you got.
My device's temperature also increase while charging. And that's why I don't use my device that time.
But I don't know, why it's taking 3 hrs to completely charge your device.
---------- Post added at 02:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:25 PM ----------
BTW, I'm also kept turned off "Day Dream & Ambient Display".
I think the "turbo charger" is a piece of crap. My phone would get so hot and I could also see the screen sort of glitch while charging. So I switched to a 2 amp Sammy charger and I also use amazon kindle charger. Both work great and charge fast while keeping the phone at a good temp.

Try flashing back to stock
I had the same issue with one of the Nexus 6 phones. flashing back to complete stock didn't help. I tried everything possible and nothing helped. I called Motorola and they sent out a brand new phone in days. Unfortunately, i think this is the only solution for you.
Their is an app on the play store. They are battery calibration need root also. I use it whenever I flash new ROM, it works well.
I ran into the same issue where my phone would get extremely hot when charging. I fixed the issue by changing the kernel.

Which kernel are you using now?
I have since changed Kernels. I think I have tried most, if not all of them so far. The key is to try them out and find the one that works the best for your ROM.
