Locked bootloader? How to lokify before flashing:
In Advanced Menu / Toggle Loki Support : enable auto loki
Flash the zip file and you are done
Note:
All versions released start of PhilZ Touch 6.01.2 will have a script in installer to lokify the image if you are coming from older recoveries or TWRP.
Unlocked bootloader users can extract the recovery.img file and restore it from inside recovery:
put recovery.img in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/philz_update/recovery.img
In Custom Backup and Restore menu, unselect all except recovery
validate to browse to the update recovery.img
done

Autoloki option is present in Advanced menu, so it should flash a zip
You can root on reboot (prompt) or manually in PhilZ Settings menu
It also has advanced checks to fix wrong root loss prompts on +4.3 roms
This version built on latest SuperSU from Chainfire as it is much more stable with many new locked stock ROMs and 4.4

Not hard to do, but I have no time to look for a bootloader of yours and play with it
Just an advanced user has to loki it before. That's how I do for all my supported devices, sorry, but for now, my time is extremely limited

Thanks a lot @Phil3759!
I didn't know that it is possible to unlock the bootloader.
I have always used CWM and now TWRP which are lokified if I am not wrong.
Does this recovery fix the time and the format bug?

Just my little 2 cents here but having the touch screen option isn't that big of a deal to me. I just care that it works as I've been used to CWM the way it is for quite awhile. Don't get me wrong, if you get it to work that's great. If not, oh well. I've flashed this new version but haven't used it as of yet.
At any rate I appreciate that you updated it to the latest version!

Well i think i might have found why its not working. Not 100% sure but im gonna see if i can merge in the code and make a build probably later tonight. I think it i may have found it though. pretty simple fix. We'll see. Ive been trying to work in the other features Jocala made too like romwipe.(Not needed but makes flashing a few less clicks so thats nice lol) Im gonna try and add those in along with a touch build later.
I made a nw version with the stack zips option, not sure if i added it right but it appears to go through the process just i dont actually wana do any flashing right now. The flash image i added but its not working. It doesnt appear to work even just manually flashing using the dd command(which is the methode used in jocalas cwm). So im not sure im even gonna try and add this.
OK so just flash this over the cwm recovery I'm running to update it right. I've got 6012 jocalas last release

Just curious: do recoveries (CWM, TWRP) need permission to be posted at all? Many new devices' forums start with a custom recovery thread and I wonder who should they ask permission from. Maybe @Dees_Troy (TWRP author)? But what about CWM? Aren't the images freely published in ROMs and on Jenkins?

Show us the difference between "compile" and "kang", will you? Sources are publicly licensed aren't they? Or else every single CM unofficial builds (previously also know as "kang") would be closed because they don't ask for permissions. And did @Dees_Troy say in any thread that "you can't use any file of mine"?

The latest version is 2.6.3.4 of TWRP. But since this an unofficial build, and the person that compiled this hasn't really shown any more interest, I doubt there will be a later update. With all that being said, I suggest the use of 4EXT recovery RC9 instead.

But we have since a few days 4EXT Recovery 1.0.0.6 RC1.

Maybe this is a dumb question. But since we have used the upgrade path via Malidus and its "prep" flash (which was 24a baseband and partitions). When other Roms are developed for true kit Kat on our devices (also eventually) will we be able to flash from where we are at considering for all intents and purposes we are on the 24a baseband?

There's a way to have the auto script check the MD5's after copying to the phone, but the coding is so complex I could not figure it out.
This guy here did it for the Spectrum, which we could alter his coding and make it for G2. Maybe JC can look at it.

We don't know. Probably not and would have to take the same approach again flashing those higher partitions to make the radio work with any new rom.
Thank you for this!! As a new G2 owner this will help me a lot. Am I correct in assuming this is the same procedure followed by tools like Flashify? i.e. copy the Lokified recovery image to device.
Looking in the zip, this is TWRP 2.6.3.4. So after this, to get to 2.7, we can get the official TWRP flashable zip, boot into recovery and flash that. Since I don't believe a Lokified 2.7 exists. Right?

Everything has to be lokified. If it isn't it can potentially brick your device. I've been on this same recovery twrp for all my testing and building of roms and never had a problem.

No more updates after 4.8.8 ?
-> Miui doenst support jb 4.2 after 4.8.8, so there won't be anymore miui updates. But i'll added UpdateMe, an updatetool where i will upload bug fixes if needed. Also i will add some more stuff to UpdateMe till we have a working recovery for 4.4 for new miui updates.
Will this work on my d950/d959/..

I've got a FC when someone is calling me / when i try to call someone from recent list
-> Please report if you got this, till then this bug is noticed as fixed for me.
The keyboard is to small.
-> you can resize the keyboard on the keyboard settings (its the g3 keyboard)
You can add XX Lg app ?
-> I will later add an App where you can choise some of them.

the boot.img and /system/lib/modules folder.
You can pull the folder via adb or use a root explorer to copy it to your sdcard.
For the boot.img you can use adb
Code:
adb backup-f boot boot.img
Or as far as i know flashify is also able to make a boot.img backup
The network disappears and log back on for a few seconds Later..

Okay i will do a factory restore when i have time for the d950.
I'm pretty sure Playful God got a recovery to work on KitKat with his app but not sure. If so can you just flash back to a 4.2 backup if on KitKat or should I just use the LG Tool. Been awhile since I've done that. Heck been a little while since I flashed anything. lol

So far the recovery on kk only works with his specialized ROM CM 11, a WIP meant mainly for developers, and very advanced users at this point who can contribute to the development process or at least effectively troubleshoot problems.

Yea I've been following his thread. Just wasn't sure.
I see finally some developments in ROM custom versions for this phone either on CM 11 or some other as this one...
It seems that custom recovery TWRP and Freedom Flex are giving us more custom Roms now, and hoping that it will expand on AOSP and Omega Roms as well...

To clarify, you're building 100% from LG Devs sources, given the sources you linked, yes?

I use xdabbed's 12b bootstack/modem, and it replaces download mode with "fastboot". BUT. you can use fastboot mode to flash download mode back.
Actually, xdabbed has a zip to restore download mode, and another zip to flash back to 26a bootstack, ill pm you the thread link with all the zips you need,

Keep in mind with updating the bootstack it will also update your radio. So make sure you flash the 12b radio or this build will constantly boot you back into recovery

currently ive installed 12b radio and am using beanstalk 5.0..
so tbh i am not sure what bootstack i have.. maybe you can give me some insight..
thanks in advance for any feedback.

New build
New build is uploading to devhost right now at a rate of "Infinity Minute(s) Remaining @ 0 KB/s"
It will eventually compete. No major changes, just keeping the source up to date. Everything is working the way it should be. For the next build, ill probably remove the camera app and replace it with "open camera".
