I have no major problems using glass with contact lenses. Sometimes the vision from right eye becomes a bit blurry but a few blink fixes it. I have really bad eyesight with my right eye (-8.00).

Tnx for tips. Appreciate much

i recieved my glass..
and no prob with contact lenses so far.
im miyopi, (-3.0)

Yes, I use contacts with my Google Glass and I can see it just fine.

it works just fine .
i have had mine for 2 weeks now.

I found the problem is when I take my contact lenses off--the glass view becomes blurry and difficulty to read clearly.

Idea to have a rear camera

What about a periscope that you can attach at the top of the screen, making the front camera a "rear camera". I'm thinking in google goggles, AR apps, QR Codes, and maybe a photo .
Even the head of the periscope can rotate to change the orientation withot attach and deattach this accessory, I'm thinking in a hangout that you can show something you are looking at, and after you want to go back to your face.
Crazy idea?
Not crazy at all, someone did something similar to make Nexus One rear facing camera have mirror so it is front facing. Love to see it done. Google it, I don't have any links atm.
they could have installed rear camera.....just 3MP to translate text, recognize sudoku.....for GOGGLES and TRANSLATES!!!
wasn't smart

Anyone with an N7 also has a decent phone in their pocket that can do this do it really isn't necessary. If my N7 did everything my OneX does then why have both?

Yep found a nexus one accessory here.
Picture here
EDIT: removed attached pic(it was huge)
don't know what the dimensions of where the nexus one rear camera is. but this could be made with a tiny amount of tweaking.
Only thing is, the front facing camera isn't exactly good quality.
I had this idea whilst waiting for my nexus to arrive few weeks back, all you need is one mirror to make the camera 'up facing' then You can then hold device flat and lower down like a compass and review / frame stuff up, noting that its flipped so left is right etc.
i Mentioned it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29191027
I just need a non scratched little mirror about an inch square as my test one was mucky and meant picture quality was bit lame.
Tbh i think all we really need is a little view finder to aid lining up from behind and clever apps that use the eg. Vol key as a shutter. That would potentially be more useful to make front facing cam work.

All though I found if you install camera app where volume buttons activate shutter, you can blindly snap while pointing nexus with the back facing you in googles and it seems to work.

scrolling slight judder

Any body else with the HTC One experiencing a very slight buffer when scrolling e.g in chrome or facebook?
It's not lagging but the scrolling just has a very very slight buffer. Also mine has a very small gap between the screen and power button where the screen meets the side, but it's fine elsewhere. Hardly notice it but it's definately there.
Thinking about swapping it so feedback on these two issues would be great, I see if I can take a photo.

Dont use Chrome but yes the Facebook app has a problem it seems. Every other app is silky smooth so its Facebooks fault and needs updating.
I noticed the very slight judder in Facebook too, so am glad it's a universal issue and not just my handset.
Facebook and chrome are bad apps for scrolling. Switch to chrome beta or Firefox and fiend caster

thanks for the quick replies, see photo, am i just nitpicking here? Hopefully you can make out a slight gap near the power button.

Hi! Is it just me or the sides look a little yellowish?
Chrome has been a dog with scrolling and font size issues since the last couple of updates.
Noticed the scrolling issue on facebook too on my friends phone and the 3 dots... come on Facebook update your app!
Anybody has the same build issue as me? The photo isn't clear but I assume there should be no gaps?

It is very slight - but I guess I'd be thinking about it if mine had that....mind you, I dont have one yet!
You might have to wait some time for a new one....

P4u agreed to exchange but none in stock, I have a feeling the new one might be the same. If so build quality ain't all that!

Yes mine has the same slight gap. Didn't even notice it until I saw the picture. Not an issue as far as I'm concerned to be honest.

If you are talking about the top speaker grill fixed at back side, YES I found it in my one as well but it's not uniform the gap looking more on left side and if I pinch top speaker i can see its moving
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I have the slight gap too, and wouldn't have noticed until you mentioned it. It's so slight that it's not an issue for me, and a case will cover it anyway so I'm not worried.
But let's keep this thread to the judder issue as in the title
Yes - mine has a similar gap, but more central. There are a couple of other very small misalignments - top left of glass is not flush with the top silver bar and neither is the bottom right silver bar flush with the white body. Poor build quality?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I guess the question is whether to take the exchange and risk getting a worse one.
Nobody has said that they have no gaps, so bit concerned there. Anybody know how to change the title of the thread to reflect the build quality issue?

[Q] Camera lens scratches

Hello, so yesterday i noticed some scratches on the camera lens and i can feel them with fingernails. So i googled about scratches on lens and almost everywhere they said it does not affect pictures that much but when i try to take pics with my SP they turn out to be fuzzy/blurry.Im afraid the warranty doesnt cover it too
Any advice what should i do?
Sorry for my english and if this thread is in the wrong section feel free to move it
after 2 months the camera lens looks terrible. im not using protective case but it is in pocket on its own no keys or lighter next to it. somehow the camera LENS got nice scratches. there is a purple color shine on the lens like on eyeglasses which supposed to be scratch resistant layer but it has gone completely. since the lens is not covered physically i have to clean the fine dust off the lens to take photo. what i see the on closer look is that the scratches are drawing circles that makes me think the lens is so soft material that the cleaning causing the scratches. i guess its plastic. i havent checked it yet but after replacing it ill do a test. i ve found on sony support forum a link where u can buy replacement lens which is by description 100% glass.
interesting that the screen itself is very durable but this tiny round lens is a crap. disappointing from sony. very stupid mistake of chosing this material for such a nice phone. i am thinkin to call them and make a complaint. :crying:
Yup, mine is scratched too, every photo looks like Joan Collins c1986.
I believe it's just stuck on so should be easy to replace.

faulty assembly?
My mate said that purple layer is a kinda filter (flare,uv or whatever) supposed to face to camera. Is that possible?

http://rounded.com/sony-xperia-sp-c530x-camera-lens.html
or on ebay.
I have the same problem, and I just bought one.
Here's a question for people who have changed it : do you have to unscrew the back of the phone (not just the back cover) or can you change it directly ?
From what I've seen, the lens and the "camera ring" might be "glued" directly, but might as well have to come off from the inside.
Another thing, there's one screw that's not directly visible, it's under the antenna, at the bottom of the phone...
Some help would be really appreciated !
Thx
I managed to get the ring off with just my finger nails, the ring and lens are two separate pieces, when the ring is off, the glass sits in a recess, so may be a bit tricky to remove.

Is there any purple coating on the replacement lens? If no than its just a plain glass and not like the original. I will just polish off the coating. On photo there is sharp area just as the clean area of the lens.
Thanks for the tip @technaudio.
@r1kkHUN : I'll tell you when I get it, but since it's an original part, I guess it'll be there, i'd make no sense otherwise.
Good luck with the polishing, I'm affraid I doubt it'll solve the problem though.
T cut or some fine rubbing compound that you polish a car with might work?

Hi.
Just got the new lens, and changed it.
Easy and fast, and the result is perfect, and for only 11€
There isn't any purple coating on the new one I got, but it seems to be okay, I'll try to take pictures in the sun as soon as the weather gets better.
I did a little guide about it on a french forum, if you want to have a look at the pictures.

Was this happening before OTA? When you take pics, make sure your finger isn't covering the LED flash; that may be the issue. Otherwise, your only choice is to return it D:

I didin't see before the OTA, bacause when I turned on the device, appeared the update...
Mi finger didn't touch the lens when I took the photo..
Does it happen All the time or just with these photos? Looks like the light is reflecting off the cars, and in such a small space, it may make the auto light sensors go haywire... Just a thought.
Try taking a photo with the flash in a wide open space and see if you can replicate it.
I have no issues with photos coming out like that with the flash.

Oh, I wasn't talking about fingering covering the lens. I was talking about finger covering the LED flash so that the light would bounce off your finger and into the lens, thus causing the blurry and purply and bright picture. Try taking a picture in the exact same spot with none of your fingers on the back of the phone.
Also, perhaps you might be using a case that is deflecting light into the lens as well?
This may be a very basic suggestion , but I mention it because I have been guilty of this in the past . Did you take off the little piece of plastic film that covers the lens?

This makes a lot if sense, if the plastic cover was still on it would take the very close light from the led and transfer it through the plastic, thus illuminating the plastic like fiber optic. And that little plastic cover would be easy to miss and may not be that noticeable with non flash photos.

The camera is okay on the moto X, I have done a lot of post edits because of this phone lol. Thanks to snapseed and picsay pro. Pretty much every time I take a photo in gonna be spending 5 mins or so editing it. IMO it's a good trade off for touchless control and active notifications.

This is what I was going to suggest. I noticed that if your finger is close to the LED, the light bounces off of your finger and the result is pictures like the ones you posted.

This looks faulty to me. Is there any moisture in the camera?
Have you looked in accessibility vision then see if colour lens is on?
Did you turn on a filter effect?

It's the flash. If you have any case on, remove it. Clean the camera lens/glass with a microfiber cloth (moist or with a lens cleaner). Try those pics again and post here. Hope this works.

Did you find the solution??
mabe the case is too close to the lense/led and light is reflecting off the case and into the lense.
remove case and test again.
