Unified Builds Listed - Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Unified Development

Here are a few builds I've found to work well on multiple Note 3 models, I am happy to build this list if you all post in some.
W03 SlimKat
Resurrection ROM
Not personally tested but claim to be universal
AOSB Project
I'm sure there are a number more. I personally own a Sprint N900P and feel like it does not get the attention the other variants do, so I was pleased to see some of these unified builds coming out and would love to see more!!
I'm not a dev, more an advanced fan boy. Keep up the kickin' work devs, we love you for it! :good:

Thanks for looking out:good:

I don't think there is any need for this list, ALL the AOSP roms use CM build trees and since CM unified the branches in turn ALL THE AOSP roms have unified the branches.
Also these unified builds haven't just been "coming out", they have been out for months now.. This sub forum was made recently..

Great idea but if it can be verified what variants they work on that would be awesome. As I am on the N900S and those do not boot on my device.

Edit* sorry wrong forum.

All the AOSP roms are for snapdragon. Flash on exynos and you'll probably brick.

No you need an unlocked BL so these will only work in Verizon if you have the dev edition.

LOL you need to edit your post, you are in the international forum, most of the AOSP roms were released for international variant first. There are 2 international variants, 1 is exynos and 1 is snapdragon.
What you meant to say is this won't work on the exynos international variant. If you say they won't work international variant that's wrong cuz the n9005 is the snapdragon international variant.

^Well this is kind of silly...I clicked on the unified development link from the VZW Note III forum and it brought me here. So I was assuming that I was in the
unified development for domestic carriers. My mistake.

The snap varients work together, look on the zip file or the thread name if it says "hlte" that means it's a universal note 3 build. That can be used on Sprint variant or tmo, Verizon etc...
Enjoy

Carefull, the Verizon Variant has an locked Bootloader, unless you purchased an Dev Edition. If i'm right, Hashcode supports the Verizon Variant, so better listen what he has to say > He's an Legend when it comes to Android...

AOSP ROMs on N900P
I can say for sure that Carbon, AOSB and C-ROM ( using C-ROM 4.4.4 currently) will flash on the Sprint N3. I have had various issues with each, but if you read the threads you will see most issues are solved by flashing a custom kernel. Most, not all. Some issues are just AOSP related and haven't been solved yet. The threads usually clearly state that they are unified builds. When DL the ROMs I look for "HLTE" to use with my N900P. Be very careful to choose the correct kernel though. Make sure you DL and flash the correct TW or AOSP kernel accordingly.

That should be fairly easy since there are only like 3 to choose from. 4 counting stock. That I'm aware of anyway. Beast, lean kernel, and temasec. I briefly toyed with the idea to port one but couldn't find a good guide and from what I did find couldn't make any sense of it. Tad more involved than I had hoped. Learning to use github is apparently step number 1.

This was not a magical event where the device is now fully supported on AOSP. Many devs worked very hard for quite some time to get this device working as it stands today (most of it done by the CM dev team). Each dev has done more than just what I'm listing below, but these are the highlights.
@noobnl / Utkanos both worked on the device bring up, config settings, ramdisk and debugging
Cyanogen did most of the kernel work bringing in the needed commits to bring the device up to CAF KK compliance
Arcee helped with some RIL and kernel issues
Slayher helped with debugging and testing
I worked on audio issues and am doing in-progress work on the new NFC chip in VZW/TMO variants

It happened to me once yesterday on Sprint cm11. So far, nothing today on this ROM.
Edit: no sooner did I type this than I got a SOD.

Once I get out of debt from Xmas donation coming your way.
Edit: I had a sod while my phone was charging.
I haven't had one yet. I enabled developer options, then went into performance and my min processor speed was set to 1728 so I dropped it down to 300 and set to conservative. So far so good!

Paranoid Beta 5 ROM for GT i9305

Hello,
I just recently rooted my Samsung GT i9305 and completed a nandroid backup on CWM. I was wondering if I could still use the Paranoid Beta 5 ROM for Samsung GT i9305. I've tried flashing it and gave me Installation Error 7, which basically means that CWM checked the rom and wasn't the right rom for GT i9305. Is there a fix for the Error 7 or should I just get another ROM instead? Any Android L look alternatives? Hazy Rom is one but thats for GT i9300 aswell :/

This may sound naive, but why are developers having such a hard time building ROMS for the the LTE International Version of the GS3 when, compared to the i9300 model, is exactly the same (but of course we have more 1GB more RAM). All the ROMS for the i9305 model are all very dated. Kit Kat is know history, please bring Lollipop to the i9305! Loving material design by the way Good on ya Google!:good

Yeah I saw pics of PA and I was addicted! But I checked their site and the i9300 was part of their "legacy" program, maintaining Paranoid for i9300 International and US users. Therefore, I doubt they will make one for i9305 since two years is probably the ending time for OS updates, but of course its different for custom ROMS. I still hope that they do develop one though :/ But don't get your hope up.

Really?! I didn't know that we had PA? But it would make sense when they created the ROM for i9300 that they would make one for the i9305. But that really is a pity. So are there anyone on xda willing to build on PA? As you said, I think there may be building problems with PA so people may be unmotivated to build it.

How come there's no support for US Cellular yet? Also why haven't we moved to Aosp? Stock Roms are okay.. but we all know Aosp is far better.

Bootloader is unlocked on all but verizon and at&t if I recall right? And yeah that's true if I remember. But you need the source code from the kernel to make it run properly on aosp. Thats why exynos didn't get much support and snapdragon got so much more support.
go over to the sprint thread and look for Lamlazy n7 port....i have 7.3 working on the r4 flawlessly

Leaked Marshmallow 6.0.1 Beta Firmware Discussion thread

Hello to everyone!
A couple of days ago a leaked MM beta firmware for the international variant of the SGS5 (G900F) was received as an OTA update by one lucky guy from Ukraine.
Since then he managed to make a TWRP backup and share it with us.
The only problem was that when flashed it would make the phone enter in a bootloop because the Bootloader (BL) was missing.
Also root was harder to achieve since the old methods seemed not to work on this build.
The developer thread for this ROM is located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/development/samsung-s5-sm-g900f-6-0-1-official-t3311188
To keep it clean from various questions I thought it was a better idea to make this thread for the normal users so we can share low-level informations about that topic without interferring with the devs discussion.
Hope you will join me here in the discussion.
Thank you everyone!
Thanks. People said rude comments about me. I was only curious. Here is better to talk.

Sorry
OK, I must say I'm a little disappointed by what I've seen in that leaked firmware.
At the same time I think that all the good changes are "under the hood".
Doze is OK and I think the UX will be smoother from what I've seen in other MM firmwares from LG and Sony.
Unfortunately the "Themes" engine is missing. It would have been cool to have it.
Anyone knows if in the leaked fw the shoot RAW option is available in the Camera app?
EDIT: the guy who received the update confirms that battery life is better and that the per-app-permission feature is present. So the "under the hood" tweaks exist
Ah very nice. This is a nice thread to discuss things. Does anyone know if a bootloader can be flashed by TWRP or is Odin necessary?
And guys, please stop attacking each other. It gives any thread a negative vibe. I could not care less if anyone finds himself a dev or not.

I have read a post by Tamirda or Geiti this firmware would be excellent base to build a S6 rom. Maybe that would be the true power of this firmware?
I'm disappointed about this update too. Nothing changed except icons :/
I don't understand why they didn't adapt GS6 UI on our GS5. Is just graphical effects, I don't think it's complicated to change xD.
I will try anyway this beta leaked but If the final version won't bring features like GS6 UI or Themes, I'll say bye bye to sammy

I honestly would prefer a S5 based rom, as there are already many other s6 & note 5 bases already. Dare to be different?

The TWRP recovery has the option to backup the BOOT partition so I believe that we can also flash a different boot backup as long as it's compatible with the phone
In the same time the BL is usually included in the single tar file that we use when flashing a stock fw via Odin.
So in the end I think it depends on how the release will be packed: either as flashable zip via TWRP or as a .tar file flashable via Odin.
The important part is that the new BL to be included
I also prefer 6.0 based on st. Not to look like s6

I have read a post by Tamirda or Geiti this firmware would be excellent base to build a S6 rom. Maybe that would be the true power of this firmware?

I think it would make an excellent base to build a clean MM firmware for the S5.
I'm staying on stock-based ROMs because I need the camera-quality.
In AOSP builds the camera quality is poorer and there are also some TW-based-goodies missing.
The Themes-engine would have been a nice addition just because we get tired of the same UX and that was a chance for us to change it without flashing custom ROMs or using 3rd party launcher.
But if it's missing it will not be a deal-breaker for me.
I'm looking forward to that Doze feature.
Just imagine how a MM barebone stock-based ROM for the S5 would fly!
Also the battery life would be better.
I have high hopes with this firmware.
With a little patience, tweaks and luck we could expand the life of the SGS5 for another year until the SGS7 will become cheaper.
So now devs can make finally a good kernel for s6/note5 6.01 MM port rom..with the s5 6.01 kernel...
I posted on the official thread by mistake and will ask here. Does this work on G900W8 also? I was able to run pre-release 5.0 last year when it was just for G900F, but that was already bundled into a ROM. I know the devs will be working on getting the code into roms, but was just wondering

No, I think only g900f. At the moment.

Hi, mate! From what I've read the only difference seems to be the bands.
Apart from that the ROMs seem to be compatible except the fact that you can't flash them via Odin.
You need to flash them as .zip from a custom recovery.
So if the ROM will be packed as a flashable .zip file you are in luck
Here is the link to the thread from where I got these informations: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2714132&page=3
Hope it helps! Cheers!
Isn't battery optimization the same with Doze mode which we have on the current, latest firmware? Google introduced battery optimization a.k.a. Doze mode on Marshmallow while Samsung had it on Lollipop since Note 4 and rolled out to other devices like the S 5.

"S4" ROMs on "S4 Active" - possible?

For the "S4 Active" ... can I also use the ROMs that are made for the "S4" ? I don't want to get stuck with a handset which is not widely supported, but I like the thought of owning a rugged phone.
There is a ROM "Galaxy S4 (Intl)" which is a CM13
https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=jfltexx
but the newest "Galaxy S4 Active (Intl)" is still on CM12
https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=jactivelte
As I have a good offer to buy a "Galaxy S4 Active" tomorrow lunchtime, please answer quickly if you have any information about this question.
Thanks a lot

The answer depends.
First thing first, it MUST NOT be the AT&T version (i537), which has basically no support. The most supported S4 Active is the LTE-A (powered by a SD800 and with alot more [ported] ROMs, but not here on XDA). But usually when you talk about S4 Active is the GT-I9525 version (jactivelte).
The S4 Active hasn't got a great development, and currently the latest working patchrom works for TW 5.0.x based ROMs. There are some CM13 Unofficial builds, which works great, and recently a dev posted even an almost completely working CM14 (Bluetooth doens't work, WiFi is a bit bugged). BTW, he also posted a patch for CM13 and CM14 both, but they must be implemented in the source code itself, and not in the final ROM, and that mean you cannot flash this patch over any S4 ROM.
I successfully finished my Ubuntu setup today, and I'm currently downloading the compressed repos of CM13 and CM14. In 2 days I should be able to sync them and compile them, this time publishing the source code. In poor words, I would be able to start to compile CM14 builds, and MAYBE finally publishing a working PatchROM for CM13/CM14, but that's not easy, and I have to deal with time because of the school. So, if you could spend something more for an S4, I advice you to buy an S4, but if the price is really well, you can think on it.

I don't have anything to add, I just want to say thanks for taking the time to continue development for the S4 Active. I'm sure there will be many others who appreciate your efforts.
I think if you are able, creating a patch for S4 ROMs would provide the most benefit for the community.

The problem is my Ubuntu setup just fu**d while repo syncing
Will try to fix the problem and continue to download tomorrow
Thanks a lot for your quick answer. I have bought the phone now, it is a "GT-i9295" (jactiveltexx, ARMv7, MSM8960, Adreno 320, 2GB).
I see in your signature: "Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, GT-I9295 : 16/2Gb, SD600, ..." Looks like that is exactly my device?
"6.0.1, Resurrection Remix 5.7.4, TWRP 3.0.2, Rooted"
Which folder on http://www.resurrectionremix.com/ is it?
I still have the original 5.0.1 ROM on it.
Is there anything I should do NOW (e.g. backup the original OS) before I start going through the whole liberation process now?
And then - where do I start?
LuckyNuke1310 - please keep up the good work! Much appreciated!
P.S.: I am happy to donate some Bitcoin when I actually start using one of your solutions.

I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU, to you Ivan LuckyNuke1310 - your post helped me a lot.
I have now run a 5.1.1 Android (CM12.1 of August 2016) for quite a while, and it seems to be working well (apart from this new problem).
Actually, I was quite proud when I rooted and CM-flashed my first ever Android phone what a liberation!
So ... Happy New Year to you, and all the best. Keep us updated about your progress, please.

Sorry if I didn't answer you before, but I didn't read the message.
However, the ROM is old now. You can however install any CM13. If you search in the tread you'll find a drive folder with some builds. Download and flash the latest one. Or download mine, I suppose it's a daily driver except for some issues.
