Soundboost for Madhi ROM by zephik
Madhi Rom seems to have a different mixer_path.xml file. Thanks to zephik.
Go here- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=54676861

How to Manually adjust.
1.Using a root Explorer(ROM toolbox, ES, etc.) go to system/etc.
2.Open mixer_path.xml with an built in xml editor.
3.Values you need to adjust are close to the bottom of the file. Description is pretty self explanatory.
4.See image below. The values I have set to "88" can be changed to affect Speaker and headphones. Now edit your values.
5.Save changes, reboot and enjoy!

Confirmed working for SlimKat?

All good in stock cm with loud mod... Thanks mate.

Should worked for SlimKat.
Sent from my One A0001 using Tapatalk

CM11 nightlies got this fix merged last night. So this shouldn't be needed on CM11 with new nightly builds.

This mod only affects the external bottom speakers and headphones. I'm running nightly 7/31 with med increase. They did do something with the XML file to make it more device specific. The only change I see for volume in nightly 8/1 is for voice paths. Still I like my volume slightly increased.

This mod work in stock ROM ?

Thanks for this great mod.Sound is better now.
Any chance for a mod that should also increase the Internal Speaker. There is an option for it in franco's kernel but since it still suffers from random reboots i prefer to be in stock kernel.
I believe everyone will also appreciate a mod for louder internal speaker.

On Mahdi rom, volume boost worked on speaker but no sound from headphones. Reverted to stock file and headphones work again!

I can confirm this. I reverted the changes to "headphones" and sound plays on the headphones again.
Heres the link to it, https://www.mediafire.com/?7i863p82coury87 (its the loud from OP version with default "headphones" values)

Another addition you can add to that post is that one can just edit the file from the zip file on a pc using notepad to modify the values.

Is this mod better than Viper4Android?? thanks!

I believe V4a installs a modified equalizer, files and libs improving sound quality. I have it running on Liquid Smooth atm. I still adjust my volume. Just what I prefer. I need my alarm loud enough to wake me up for work. Plus I got a pair of Beats I'd like to use to it's full potential. Also I think the speakers on the One are good but not great. I've heard better but it still gets the job done. So don't think this is some miracle mod to improve your speaker quality..lol. It just boost volume for speakers and headphones.

This mod just adjusts volume, viper4android is a equalizer that changes sound quality. They're two different things. Although Viper can also change the output sound volume as well. I prefer both.

NFC is about it I think.
Same as CM10.
Okay, I am in. Going to install CWM and see what this sucker can do! Thanks!
K, I setup CWM and installed the ROM. Nice thus far but have an issue ATM.
1) I can't install paranoid preferences.apk. Tried multiple times from Root Explorer and it fails at the end with "app not installed".
FYI, I had a problem saving a custom wifi network, but I rebooted to CWM and fixed perms. Upon reboot, it looks like that worked.
Thanks again.
EDIT:
Found some instructions that worked for me on the .apk. Taken from here
"You need to move the PA Prefs app to /system/app then set its permissions to rw-r--r--
PA removed the ability to install this app since the sigs are gone in their new update. I also cannot include it in the normal ROM zip as it has to be added post-compilation (as it is closed source). So for now, until something changes via PA, this is how it will have to be!"
Some additional notes;
1) For some reason ( and I saw reference to this somewhere else in the T forums), with this ROM the headphone jack detection is borked. Plugging in headphones does not result in a switch to them, rather the speaker keeps playing.
2) Having an issue getting some apps to download their additional content. My example is swiftkey, which requires a language file download upon install. It always fails saying there is no wifi network connected.
3) Not sure if this is standard behavior or not... I don't believe it was on default ROM - when Bluetooth headset is connected, ringtone volume on speaker does not adjust up or down, always stays the same. Adjusting the volume on the BT headset changes volume only on the headset. Connectivity seems to work fine tho.

1. Will be fixed in the next release
2. Weird - will investigate
3. I think that was changed in jellybean - after all it does make more sense to do it that way.
Second issue is the same some other people and I had with CM10 - it's discussed in its own thread with some workarounds.

Thanks T!
One other thing... I noticed today on a call that proximity doesnt work right when pulling the phone away from ear. Rhe screen stays black, and it was hard to wake. I found holding the power button works okay sometimes.

Yeah. Fixes the headphone bug. And some graphics issues.
if the headphone bug is - doesnt recognise headphones, then it still has it, at least for me
I've tried it for a while, but it wasn't perfect. Phone was switching off with no reason. Another thing was the sound. I think it was only one channel. And no sound in the headset. Maybe I did something wrong? What kernel are you using with this Rom?

I can't see any reason why you can't. You can use v4a for headphone and use this mod for speaker.
i just tried your mod but the problem is with the balance, left channel is 15% up than the right..
so back with the M8 mod and it works perfectly.
after playing for 2 songs with walkman, and navigating the folders, selecting for another song, the player stop. and cant get to play any songs from the list.

Possible Solution for low In-Call volume Nexus 6

I had a problem that the In-Call volume was way to low on the Nexus 6 and after a firm search on different site's I found out that a possible solution was no a near distance future.
Hack.... even Google itself has given it a small-priority - Issue 80817: Nexus 6 - Low in-call speaker volume
So I began to experiment with volume apps in the Google Play store and found a solution which helped me to raise the In-Call volume on calls significantly! - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.firestorm.vc
Just install and make sure that you enable the In-Call Volume in the settings and set it on maximum value. Save settings and go....... Descend volume during a call.

Difficult, to really hear if it goes up, thought it did, seemed to increase and slightly distort, but could be placebo as I so wanted it to.
Ultimately I would rather adjust some system files rather than have another application, especially an ugly one. Sorry and thanks.

For me the volume was definitely increasing without distortion, sorry to hear that it wasn't working for you.
Yes I know, I also search the solution into editing some system files. But no luck so far.
I still hope that franciscofranco can find a solution for this and make it a kernel option to adjust.
On this moment I also experiment with Tasker and the In-Call options to achieve more loudness, we shall see. But for now it's better then it was, at least workable (for me).

Did you save the settings and did reboot? I don't remember that I did - but you can try. And I searched Franco's topic where he's stating that, but all I could find was that he wasn't suffering from a low In-Call volume problem.
I didn't find a post where he told that it wasn't possible. Can you give a link?

[APP] [ROOT] Viper4android Audio engine for Moto G3.

All you have to do is just follow this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/themes-apps/viper4android-lollipop-root-t2997005
Make sure you've downloaded the latest version (2.3.4.0 - That's the one I'm tested)
Make sure that your device is rooted, amd delete the AudioFX and any other Equalizers you previously installed.
Don't make any change in developer options for me its working flawlessly with/without changing NU player settings. But if you have any problem then tick "Use Awesome player instead of NUplayer" in developer options.
Credits to the original developers.
Note:
#Neither me nor the Original devs will responsible for any broken devices.
#Use it on your own.

Yes. It has more options than AudioFX and you must uninstall AudioFX to make this work on any rom. I'm currently using Euphoria, works great on this too.

Very rarely occurs to me. I just untick and tick the "Enable V4A FX" and works fine. Still don't know the reason,I have the same issue in my previous Sony mobile also. If turning off and on of V4A also doesn't works, then make sure ur SElinux mode is permissive. Problem still persists, then go for reboot.

Found fix..... as per the main thread which explains about installing V4A using a flashable zip (lolliviper) the zip shows that it is removing the default audio effects apk from our phone. But practically it is not and it leaves the default audio effects apk behind, which force triggers itself and stops v4a when it is enabled.
I just had to disable the default audio effects application manually from Settings > Apps> All> Audio effects > Disable.
V4A works like a charm now....

Hello new guy here. Got my moto g3 on 21st and unlocked bootloader, flashed recover and rooted the same day
Anyways, the issue which you are telling was the main reason i switched from moto g1 to g3. I've found that the culprit of this issue is low RAM due to which viper app gets killed after a brief moment of time say 10-20 mins.
Check your ram usage and also try viper-> setting -> show notification. This will make a persistent notification of viper at your status bar all the time which prevents it from getting killed. This worked on my moto g1 untill I use a heavy music player like n7, poweramp, proplayer, etc. So i had to stick with shuttle and musixmatch. Hope this helps.
Does this app work on streaming music apps like wynk or gaana? thanks would be of great value if this supports streaming apps

So far I've tried Saavan and gaana. It works in gaana but not in Saavan. Basically, you can say it works with every music app which supports system equilizer. Just don't forget to set the mode to compatible in Viper.
This mod remove the ascend ringtone ? I can't fix the ascend ringtone for notification that cause no notification sound.
So does it work in Marshmallow stock from? Do I have to follow the procedure for Lollipop rom?

Yes you can. I'm on stock android m and there is no quality drop so far. And yes, same procedure. Don't forget to change selinuxmode to "permissive" and viper4android mode to "compactible"

Anyone have any luck with Viper4android?

I have it installed successfully, drivers and everything, but turning it on and off doesnt have any effect on audio.
Set Selinux to permissive? Have to do after every reboot then all is working fine...

how does one do that?
Install terminal from store and type
"su" for root and "setenforce 0" for permissive

which audio portion-do not think it will do anything for earpiece in-call volume if that is what you are looking for (correct me if i am wrong but viperaudio will boost bluetooth/headset, external speaker for say videos, and maybe speakerphone only)
I have ARISE sound system mod with viper installed, all works fine and no reboot issue, it turns on perfectly and I highly recommend this MOD.

Took 5s of my time to just do a search for you, here:

I think the phone sounds better without any of these Mods, i've experimented with Viper, ARISE (With and without the Audiophile X Profile) and Dolby Atmos - they all feel overprocessed and un-natural.
Out of the box it's the best sounding phone i've ever heard. I have a Fiio X7 with AM5 AMP module (Audiophile DAP) and this sounds just as good, i'm finding myself just carrying the one device around... for the first time ever!
My settings :-
Sound and Vibration >> Audio Settings
* Mi Sound Enhancer On, Select Mi Piston 1 headphones (I don't have these but the profile sounds most natural on all of my headphones). I ignore the Equaliser in here.
* I then access the Equaliser from the app i'm using, such as directly in Spotify and set the sound profile from there.

I am using ARISE but with totally clean Viper (earphone), No profiles such as Audiophile X and I don't use Atoms, those profiles also sounded over-processed to me.
I use my Mix with my JH Roxanne, I do agree the sound chip in Mix is very good by default, i, however, think ARISE bring this sound to the next level. I don't use Spotify as the sound quality there isn't good enough, if you want to benefit from ARISE, you should be using TIDAL at least or your own HI-FI files.
For bluetooth and external speaker, i 100% think ARISE (Viper) is a must, I adjust the viper setting for my in-car stereo and the difference is huge. It does take some time setting it up if you not familiar with all the VIPER setting, but it's worth it at the end.
*btw for people who has trouble getting either ARISE or just pure Viper to work (turn on), you can use kernel editor to set permissive. I didn't have to do it though on my Mix, but I had to with some of my other device on some custom Rom.
just download the SELinuxModeChanger apk just google it and find it. you can change it with the apk file each time at boot for those that don't want to make edits
Is there a mod to boost the loud speakera volume? Just wondering...
Well, viper does it. It's called loud speaker under the speaker section. You can also have gain control there to boost speaker volume
