Where is the Barometer located on the Note 4? - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I played with the Note 4 today at the store and was a little thrown off as it left me guessing where the barometer sensor was located? Please tell me they didn't pull it like they did the USB 3.0 ...
Most places that I've looked online states that it still has it.
Location of the barometer?
UPDATE: We also no longer have a temperature and humidity sensor? Dang....

I had no idea you're supposed to see it. I'm pretty sure it's inside the phone, isn't it? Download sensor box and see what it has.

Well on the Note 3, if you're looking at the screen the temp and berometer sensor is located on the bottom right side of the phone. (Small hole)

It's probably on the inside in that location... Not necessarily on the outside

Since store probably won't allow you to download software, (demo unit may not even have a radio), try dialing *#0*# from keyboard, that should show you all the hardware including sensors. From reading specs, Note 4 only lost humidity sensor, which I'm not too happy about, since I use it often and rather have it, instead of UV, which is pretty much useful only for few months in my area, only on the weekends that I happen to go to the beach or something. Anyhow I'm pretty sure barometer is there.

EDIT: There seems to only be the barometer. As for the thermometer and humidity, those don't seem to be there?
I too have utilized the temp and humidity sensors. Darn....

It does have a barometer though.

[HELP] Screen/S-Pen Issue

I was taking some notes in the app Skitch and found out that I can't draw on the right edge of the screen. I only found this out recently since apps like S-Memo don't extend to full-screen so you can never write till the edge of the screen while in apps like Skitch and SBM you can utilize the entire screen.
Here's a pic for better explanation...

Please test this for me and post your results. It's been bugging the hell outta me! I'm thinking of going to the service centre.
Hi,
do you have any kind of cover with some magnets maybe ?
Magnetic fields affect the s-pen. I had a cover which had a magnet and it affected the s-pen
in a way I couldn't write in the edge close to the magnet....
pretty sure its a known issue

Nope. Just a plastic cover. Its frikkin annoying at times while taking notes!
since we are talking about the S-Pen here, i would like to know how to improve the accuracy of the S-Pen. i did a accuracy test and the pen was WAY OFF.
I tested some more and found out that there's a similar issue with the bottom edge of the screen, only much worse. There's a decent amount of area where the pen doesn't work.
As a request, could somebody please test this out? Try Skitch (or preferably Zen Brush or SketchBookMobile since they're completely full-screen). I've already tested on a friends Note and she doesn't have this problem. If I'm a lone case, I'll try the service centre.
EDIT: If someone does test this, try to draw along all the edges.
I was just about to make a new thread when I saw yours. I have the same issue.
I am right-handed and the phone's setting is set to right-handed, this is how it looks when I draw a line from the left side of the screen all the way to the right until the S-Pen disconnects from the screen:
You can clearly see that the line is cut-off ~0.5cm before the edge. If I hold the S-Pen in the left hand and drag a line from right-to-left, I get the same effect on the left side of the screen. Disappointing.
-EDIT: Oh, crap, I thought this was the Note 2 subforum.

Anyone notice the spot for a camera?

Opened my Nexus up to apply the screen fix involving a piece of plastic from pill containers , and I saw this. Obviously anyone who has opened it up has noticed but I haven't seen any threads.
Just a neat thing I thought I'd share.

I saw that too. My guess was that it is the NFC and sharing sensor since I remember someplace describeing the NFC being near the top. But that sure looks like the place for mounting a camer... Even has what appears to be four threaded holes for attaching the camera.

No I'm fairly sure that's a camera mount. The NFC is actually on the back plate (along with the wifi & gps antenna)

It's merely an NFC antenna that's on the back plate. The NFC hardware itself is on the motherboard.
Also notice the empty space for the CON3 connector just under the label?

It has screws and is a considerable sized "pit".

There is also a hole in the NFC antenna in that area
yes. that is a place for a camera. The N7 was originally a different tablet (asus showed it off at CES) and Google hijacked it and removed some things to lower the price point.
technically speaking if we were able to get our hands on that camera sensor we could install it (if the MoBo still supports it) and drilla hole for the camera.
Is this the original, I was posting a link but for some reason i need to post ten times before i can post external links. O well.
Did anyone notice a small round circle along to the right of the camera lens on the front of the device? You can see it depending on room lighting. Wonder if that's a LED?

[Q] Build Quality

I just got my gear live and I was wondering if anyone else has a noticeable gap on either side of their gear live? Also, it seems that the heart rate sensor on mine looks crooked. Is this how it is supposed to be? The heart rate monitor seems to work fine. Although, I have not really tested it for accuracy. Please let me know if these build issues are normal.

I have noticed a gap on the upper inside area where the plastic meets the bezel on the side opposite the charging port.
It does make me question it's IP 67 certification.

I have another question for anyone on here. Does your screen show a sort of pink line of pixels at the top when a white screen is shown? I think it may just be the way these displays are made but I wasn't sure.

I see that as well. It is hard to describe but I do see a pinkish hue that lines the upper edge of the display which is most noticeable on a white background.
I just tried the pixels and its true but unnoticeable in normal use. As for the gap that's quite big compared to mine which I've had for months.
Mine looks the same and I have seen the gap on other watches. It varies. I have gotten it a little wet on the sides from washing my hands and so far no issues here. It should not affect the IP 67 certification. I wonder if the pink hue on white screens could be fixed with a software update?
Other issues I have noticed are my watch band creaks a little if I move it around and also my heart rate sensor looks crooked as you can see in my pictures. Other than these things, it is a great watch!

The black rubber (adhesive) started coming off at the side of the screen

Hi everyone!
The black rubber (adhesive) started coming off at the side of the screen of my p30 pro through normal use.
Is this just normal? Will this affect the "waterproofness" of my phone? And does anybody here has the same situation I have?

It's not really that big, I'm just a bit worried maybe this could no longer fully protect my phone from dust and water anymore.

I wouldn't be happy with that if it was my device. These are flagship, expensive phones. Warranty job I think.

Yeah, it's quite disappointing. Maybe I'll just send my phone to the service center just to be sure.
Adhesive coming off the bottom of P30pro screen
Hi Tony,
Any update on what the folks at the service had to say on this. Becuase I too have a similar situation with a adhesive like portion coming out from the bottom of the screen.
Thanks
Same problem. Black rubber coming off the edge of Huawei p30
I bought Huawei p30 less than a month ago and the black rubber is coming off the edge.
It's screen cracked badly after it fell of the bed once.
Disappointed with its quality.
Any suggestions about what can be done?

Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite / CC9 with proximity sensor issues

Does anybody has problems with proximity sensor (Mi 9 Lite/CC9) during a call?
My phone doesn't block the screen when I approach it to my face. I also have a Redmi Note 7 and I don't have this problem with this phone.
I dialed *#*#6484#*#* and did the proximity sensor test and it passed. It's ok. Its shows the number 0 when I get close, and 5 otherwise.
My Note 7 has a dedicated setting for proximity sensor, but not on my Mi 9 Lite.
Is there something i can do to to fix it?
I have this problem as well... Not sure how to fix it though. There's a mod called disable sensors I've been thinking of playing with, for now I can really only talk on speakerphone. Pretty irritating.
to both of you a quick (maybe stupid) question , do you have any tempered glass? If yes, might the problem is there , i had the same with nillkin tempered , i had to reinstall it more then 5 times so it can fit in the correct place.

honestly i bought the phone with the screen protector already on it, so i can't be 100 percent sure, it's hard to tell once it's on, but if i had to guess i'd say it's probably tempered glass....most are these days. it looks like it's in the right spot though, idk...i can't imagine where else i would put it. you say you had to reinstall several times...what specifically ended up being the solution?

To put it in the right place, I did it with the case on (spigen) and put it from the bottom up, we're talking about 1-2 millimeters lower.

So your theory is that the protector has to leave the sensor, or at least part of it, uncovered? Interesting. I suppose it could be. Could you show me a picture of just the verytop of your device? I'd like to see how much space should you leave between the top of the protector in the top of the phone, I don't know where the sensor is exactly.
