[Mod] More Toggles for OD2 (L720/L720T) - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 General

MORE TOGGLES
Also works on OH1 and OK3
Flash in recovery after first boot. This simply adds the toggles to the settings.db, but it is not created until the first boot. Some toggles may not work correctly on all devices.

I flashed TWRP in Odin, then flashed the SuperSU.zip in recovery (from Chainfire's SuperSU thread).

Thanks @bilgerryan ! Mod worked great.
Now I just need to figure out the necessary changes to services.jar to enable WiFi-Hotspot

You're going to need the "oat to dex tool" to decompile properly. Galaxy Tools works for now.

Is the Mobile Data toggle working?
Because i tried to add it using sqlite editor and it appeared but didn't work.

Yes the one in this thread works. If you look in tools/run.sh you can edit the toggles that the zip gives you.

I used this mod but when i tap on mobile data toggle it says insert sim card.
And this is the same result when I used sqlite ed.
Now how to return to stock toggles.?

What phone and carrier do you have? I just told you how to do this in the post above yours... Just delete the MobileData and save and rezip everything.

I live outside US and flashed my phone to local carrier.
Now just delete the mobile data toggle ?
Now i need how to fix external sd card to make it writable because some apps couldn't write to external sd card.

Did you find out how to write to the sd card in OD2, if not Root Explorer will fix it the first time you try to copy a file to it.

Where's Flashlight?
I opened the .sh file, and while flashlight is listed, it doesn't show up. It is not shown in the picture in the op either. I do appreciate the added toggles and your work. Is there any way to get the flashlight toggle to work? I think I use that at work more than anything else. Thanks.

It's only working on my ROM, Wicked X, as far as I know. It needs to be "TorchLight" and not "Flashlight", but I don't know if it works with stock.

I'll try TorchLight and report back, thanks!

4. Detele odex file !!!
5. Copy file below in system/app

[MOD][HACK] Mobile Hotspot Hack for Xperia Z3V [23.0.E.1.44]

This mod enables the Mobile Hotspot feature on your Xperia Z3V without checking for tether entitlement. (In other words, you can use the mobile hotspot feature even if you are not paying for it on your Verizon account.)
Prerequisites:
1. You must have a rooted Xperia Z3V on build 23.0.E.1.44.
2. You must have the XZ Dual Recovery installed. http://nut.xperia-files.com/
3. Reboot into either TWRP or PHILZ and flash the attached file. View attachment TetherNativeTWRP.zip
4. Reboot

Go ahead and try the xposed module I linked next time around. Works for me, from the built in hotspot app as well as the power toggles homescreen widget by painless apps (which is what I regularly use)
please help... need mod for lollipop also.....
Just install xposed installer apk and download xtheter in the app........ Problem solved! Hit thanks

I have a different phone now, but I believe I had to reset the phone while pressing the buttons to get it into download mode.. not to be confused with recovery mode. When you are in download mode use the flash tool to flash original firmware. Let me know if you need more help.

Hi,
A bit old but...: http://phandroid.com/2015/12/02/galaxy-note-5-s6-edge-plus-update/
Another key change Samsung seems to have made is the reintroduction of optical character recognition — the Smart Select feature’s ability to read text — on the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. We’re not sure why the feature was taken out in the first place, but folks are sure to be glad it’s back.

On my N920C I was on the same boat on stock firmware but I found a workaround, I extracted the SmartClipService.apk (it's the Smart Select option) from an updated rom and it works! I choose Smart Select, I choose a texte then share to the clipboard in full text only or share to Snote and you can edit the text.
For those who want see in attachment for the apk, replace the existing one in /system/app/SmartClipService, set the correct permission (rw-r--r--) and if you are on an odexed rom delete the arm64 folder, reboot in recovery, wipe Dalvik-Cache and you should be good to go.
Maybe make a Nandroid backup before replacing the file, I'm not responsible if something goes wrong...

Hi,
If it's about my post then yes you need root.
The nice thing I noted is that when you click on the "T" after the smart select you can directly copy / paste the text or only a part of the text, like in the first screenshot at the bottom part. I mean I can choose only the word "connexion" for example and copy / paste it without the use of the share option.
It's a shame that the last update for my N920C doesn't have this update... and it's needed to do the thing with the apk from another firmware...
Maybe it's better explained like this :
yes, i'm also on 920c and i really miss this feature...but i'm not allowed to root my phone. Hope they will add it in the next 920c firmware

Thanks for the clarification. Whenever I hit download link on my mobile, Chrome browser goes into a refresh loop on zippyshare. It's weird but I probably should try downloading via PC.
Edit: Downloaded zip file via PC. Testing in progress. Thanks for the effort.
dear @sawdoctor could you please move this topic to magisk thread? Thank you very much as always
I'm sorry, but this doesn't seem to do anything... I still need to allow access using the documents interface

This modules creates and additional path to your sdcard, ( /mnt/media_rw ). Your normal path behaves still as before

Thanks for the clarification... It's working as intended
Fyi: it also works as intended on 6.0.1. I'm using it on my sgh-I747 slim6 Rom Magisk v9. Thanks @_Exeedy_!

Magisk manager shows it as a module so you can uninstall it from there.. Why would you though?
I do not understand how it works, everything works like before, Apps are installed in internal SD Card and data also in internal SD Card .

Oh well, it exposes a user accessible path under the mnt.
I love it cuz apps work so much faster when not using the weird new external storage permission thing.
So, do i have do copy all on External Card or internal card to this mnt point?

no no, it simply is used for allowing apps to access the external sd card without having to use the Document Storage provider. eg. Say you have your titanium backup files on your sd card, you can point to the mount point to access them instead of using the external storage handler or anything else.
Or you could save files on the ext sd card by pointing to the mount point.
This saved me from having to format as internal. I'm running RR5.8. Thank you for this
