Not bad if your buying now and opening a 2nd line also should work with the G4 $48 off code online. Also works if you had bought either in the last 30 days. Thinking about grabbing the tablet since I was thinking about opening a 2nd line before the 2 for $100 goes away next week. The Father's Day deal with match your data and $10 credit back wasn't really something I wanted this looks decent and could use the 2nd voice line in the Tablet til someone needs the line.

What if i got my LG G Pad F during the Father's Day special deal and got the G4 2 weeks after

I believe the Promo started June 8 so most likely you won't be able to get it I guess you you call and find out. I still haven't done it yet but that's cause Tmobile is taking forever to return and clear my EIP credit on my returned phone they had it for 3 weeks now.

If it started June 8th then i should he eligible then. Father's Day was June 20th....which is when i got the LG G Pad F. Then picked up the G4 2 weeks later.

Sorry not sure how i typed June. It just started this month July.

Considered getting that during the Father's Day Sale, but, judging from the specs, I'm better off with my Nexus 7.

I wanted a G4 on the side of my M9 and my son had the Alcatel Pop 7 which sucked. So I saw T-Mobile dropped the price of the G4 by 20% while still keeping the $100 rebate deal. I took it and ran.

Well, I did what t-Mobile said and never received the darn debit card. What a pack of lies they offered. Not sure what to do now. Any suggestions?

From reading the fine print it seems like the phone has to be purchased on jump on demand and not a EIP

[Q] At a fork in a road, need help with a decision for GN3

I'm stuck with an LG Optimus G Pro and I'm starting to notice that they aren't that great with upgrading software. I want to get the Galaxy Note 3... like really badly. My normal upgrade is 5 months away. So I have two or three options. Which would you choose if you were in my shoes, and why?
Option A: Sell LG Optimus G Pro for a few hundred, go onto AT&T Next Plan for 20 months and then use phone w/o contract. Use money from LG Pro to make most of the monthly payments.
Option B: Sell LG Optimus G Pro and Tablet, and buy the Galaxy Note 3 flat out w/o using AT&T next.
Option C: Wait 5 long months, while the worth of the Optimus G Pro and Tablet go down.
Option D: (Your plan if you have a better one.)
I'm really stuck in the mud with this one. What would you do and why? Thanks in advance!

A: I see no real benefit of the Next plan unless you want to swap phones every year. You pay tax on the full price, then monthly payments. Sure, there's no contract, but more than likely the remainder of the device's purchase price would be more than an ETF if you canceled the Next plan.
B: If you don't want to be under a contract, then this would be your best bet. Also, you would have a lot more pull with getting a reduction in your bill since you don't have a contract and retentions will do their best to keep you. I.E. the Mobile to Any Mobile w/ Unlimited Messaging on a family plan is available for $20/month through rentions.
C: Nah bro, just nah xD
D: Give retentions a call (611, option 4, option 5 IIRC) and tell them that you are thinking about going to XX carrier to get the Note 3 and just buy out of your current contract. Given that you are 5 months away, they definitely should be willing to work with you. I was offered the $299.99 price on a line that wasn't due for an upgrade until July 2014, so it's definitely possible. Then, you could sell the LG phone and/or the tablet to reduce the cost of the Note 3.
I would try D first and see where that gets you. If the first rep isn't willing to help, then call back and try again, although I've never had to call for back for a second rep. If all of that fails, then I would sell the phone and tablet and have a net out-of-pocket cost of next to nothing for the Note 3. Hope this helps.
Suggestion:
Sell what you got and buy it with a 2 year contract this phone is bad a F will be powerful for a while IMO
I would call At&T and tell them you been a customer for this long and basicly kiss some ass this has worked in the past where they will let you get the discounted 2 year price early if you play your cards right
P.s. if you are into ROMs and all that I would hold tight on that stuff until the boot loader is unlocked you can read up about that on the forums.
Good luck

Would definitely call customer service. I wasn't due for an upgrade until May 2014. They went ahead and approved the exception upgrade and even mistakenly misquoted me a price of $199. Good luck.

First off, the Next plan is a ripoff, you're essentially paying full retail for a phone that isn't yours when the year is up. The payments are just spread out, and you're always under AT&T 's thumb. I am a firm believer in never getting tied into contracts, especially with phone companies. If you are out from under your AT&T contract I would seriously take a look at some of the mvnos out there. Compared with AT&T prices for comparable plans you can save anywhere from $45-$75 a month. Yes you have to pay retail for a phone, but it's yours to do with as you wish, and you're saving $540-$900 a year by going with one of those guys. And if you decide to sell your phone when the next version comes out, you will get a good return. That is my option D. I left AT&T two years ago and haven't looked back.

Fyi for those who may have not pulled the trigger in buying the G2 the droidlife story helios posted has an additional promotion code you can use at checkout for additional $50 off. If it works then this phone would be free!

I got in on this. I have one shipping from Amazon with a total invoice cost of $199.99
.. not sure what I want to do with it. May just resell.
I hope you get it. However I read people are getting emails from amazon saying they are not honoring this glitch even with people showing statuses of shipping. Fingers crossed
I have done no work today because of this phone crazyness.
Amazon would just eat those as a loss in profit. I wonder how many of them got sold. Either way, good catch for the ones that got it for 199 off contract.

Please correct me if I am wrong. I read that Verizon 4G phones come unlocked and that I can use a Verizon LG G2 on another carrier. So can I buy this phone from Verizon (for free) and then just pay the ETF and go use it on TMobile?
Please advise me on such a strategy. Thanks.

I did the VZWDEAL and got the phone for free. DL also posted the SLICK50 will get the phone for free also.
Another Verizon tip. If you're upgrading from a previously unlimited data line to 2GB of data, ask about Verizon Max (might be spelled Maxx). You get 6GB of data for the 2GB price. Got it for both mine and my wife's phone (that's 6GB per phone, not shared between the two of us). I had to call the customer support line as the store guys didn't know about it (3rd party vendor), and you'll need to go through a verification process that takes a couple days. But once done you'll have 6GB of data for $30 per month.

Good news: My G2 that I ordered from Amazon shows shipped for the low price of $225 with next day shipping!!!
Bad news: A lot of people seem to think Amazon will recall the shipped orders.
They will price match. I called verizon to get a refund. Just bought the phone on monday..
If they try to give you ****, you have 14 days to return the phone.
Return your phone. Then say, you know what, Id like to get that phone again.. =D bam..
but seriously, they should be able to knock it down or give you credit.
Verizon guarantees price match within 14 days of activating. I paid 200, got the 50$ off last week, just missed the other 100$ and 50 with code. So, I paid 150.

I paid 100 for the phone before getting the price adjustment. I would have paid 150 for this phone without hesitation.

Is Moto sending out used phones?

Got my moto maker moto x delivered (VZW) with a new line. Turned it on for auto-activation, no luck. I call Verizon they say the sim card is already attached to another phone number (and they accidently refer to me by someone else's last name, presumably whoever had the sim card active before). Turning into a huge issue with verizon since they cant add a line with a used sim card, but they cant swap a sim card without the line being active. So after 45 min on the phone and 30+ min in the store this morning, I have to go back to the store later for them to do some magic manager thing just to get a line added with this device.
Anyways...how in the world did a used sim card end up in a brand new moto x straight from motorola? Unless this was a return that was repackaged and shipped out as new?
Also my "your order has shipped" email from Verizon themselves has the same sim/device ID as are on the package. So it's not simply a 'wrong shipping label put on the box' situation.
I thought someone else had posted something fishy indicating they may have received a used moto x as well, but I can't find the thread now.
Wouldn't be surprised. My ebony back had scratches that looked like they were from car keys when I got it - exchanged for a plastic back which is now in the mail.
Yes, they are.
WTF really?
If ordered new they can not send a used phone. This is by law. If you order a replacement it could possibly be a refurbished phone.
Used phone?
Got mine today (Pure), and returned AT&T version that I got 14 days ago to AT&T store.
Mine appears to be brand new--but I did wonder, as I was returning the AT&T version, what they do with phones returned within two weeks. I returned my phone in pristine condition, but I know that they aren't allowed to resell it as "new." I only paid a $35 restocking fee. I can't imagine that they can turn around and sell the phone I returned as "refurbished" for within $35 of the "new" price--but maybe they can. What do they do with returned phones?
They are used for random things like insurance claim phones, sold as refurbished phones, and given to sales reps to use.

We send them back and then they're considered as refurbished devices. That's why there is that fee of $35.
Just received my 2014 replacement for the OG X and mine is new or there is no signs of it being a refurbished phone.

Upcoming upgrade

My annual upgrade is approaching. I LOVE my Nexus 6 <3 I'm on the AT&T Next plan and I'm unsure what I should get. I looked at the LG V10 but it seems the bootloader is locked on AT&T. Does AT&T even offer the 6P? Should I go with another Motorola? I'd like to be able to fully root with an unlocked bootloader to use themes (currently I use layers) and Xposed mods. Any suggestions? Anyone upgraded yet? TIA

You can buy the 6P and the Huawai in China and they will finance it for you. Screw the carrier, trust me its a much better option.
Also once my contract dropped AT&T gave me double the data. I now have 20gbs for $100 monthly so it's better you stay off because you can bargain.

That's interesting. My mom's phone is off contract since August, she lives out of state so I haven't had a chance to replace it for her. It seems that they want to charge more monthly if you don't do the next plan now. I had signed a 2 year with her line on a LG G2 (I believe) and I was going to renew and just send her another cheaper android phone but when I saw the message that they'd increase her line amount monthly I was like WTF. We have a big plan, 3 tablets and 4 phones with all different dates, the only 2 with the same date are my Nexus 6 and my daughter's iPhone 6+ and she already has the rose colored 6S+ picked out LOL. I believe it's around Valentines day we can trade in, so I have a bit of time to decide.
Don't they keep charging you monthly on next even if you don't upgrade after 12 months?

No, it's the same price. The only way the plan increases is if you sign a two year contract. If you pay off your phone and buy a new phone like the Nexus the plan stays the same. They were probably just poorly educated on their services. Just don't go on another contract and it will be fine.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
It maybe abit of alot of money but its cheaper to buy the phone without any carrier involved as you will end up with a phone without any logos ( which destroy the look of any phone ) and no carrier crap installed , plus the big win is a firmware upgrade that can be months ahead of the carrier versions , also you would probably get an international phone which has more bands to use on any network , thats what i always do then i get a sim only contract which in the end will save you enough money to have a cheap holiday

EDIT: 5 minutes later and now it's back to "sold out online." Screwy, or is it just very popular and limited?

Does anyone have an inside scoop if BestBuy.com is going to get any more stock in? This phone has been onsale online for weeks now between $50-100 on 2yr contract but perpetually out of stock.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/htc-10-...glacier-silver-sprint/5221000.p?skuId=5221000
Only other place that has this phone on contract is sprint.com and its $200 (after a $50 MIR, hate MIRs) Anyone know of any other retailers selling the sprint variant on contract?
I ordered one on Saturday morning. They sell out quickly so you have to check for yourself every so often throughout each day until you grab one. A new HTC is coming out soon so they may actually drop it down to $49.99 if they get enough stock from HTC.
I was able to get the 10 a couple of weeks ago at $100 on 2yr but only one. My wife wanted a new phone and i saw the G5 was $1 for 2yr contract online there on 10/7. We checked back on 10/8 and online they listed the message Sprint wasnt doing 2yr's any more.
Went in store and they were able to get the 2yr upgrade plan, said it was the last day for it. G5 is ok for her but no root, doesnt seem like there is much going on in the G5 forums sadly. Still better than paying installments or $200 from sprint.com.
