Heat Issue?! - ZTE Axon Pro

Well hello everybody, i v been reading some reviews today and many of those mention heat issue on Axon. The thing is that i am after a new phone, looking on moto x style right now but the axon (elite international) also caught my eye. So please, tell me you experience about the heat, when does it heat the most and how bad does it actually heat (highest temperature etc.).

Not a big gamer or heavy user but I have experienced no problems with heat outside of the well documented normal 810 chip issue heat.

Is the heat that bad?

Currently I'm considering buying this phone, and I've heard mixed opinions on the heat issues. I've never owned a Snapdragon 810 device, so I really don't know what to expect. Is it enough to consider getting something with an 808 instead? Will it overheat in the middle of taking a 10-minute video? How much does it take for it to get too hot to use?
I have used this phone for a couple months. I don't do any heavy gaming but I have not experienced any heat issues. My M9 was hotter under the same usage conditions.
I asked the same question here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/zte-axon/help/heat-issue-t3199918 Funny thing is that only augie answers, but i am sure there are a lot more users of Axon. Share the experience
I do not have any heat issues.
Augie is definitely the most active member of this forum. Pretty awesome and helpful. My axon does get rather warm on memory intensive games. Not graphically intense, mind, but games with a lot to process on screen. It's never hot enough that it's uncomfortable to hold and I don't see any of the throttling that people complained about with the 810 either.
No issues with heat here too. I did notice it getting quite warm before I hid it away in the case but no more than I noticed with my OPO.

Zuk Z1 in India

I'm thinking to buy this phone but really confused ....can anyone write a small review of it and how is the development community
Typing this answer from my ZUK Z1 that I have been using since the last 3 months. Before using this phone, I used the MI3 for little over one year after which the motherboard got faulty and it would have costed a bomb to replace it, so thought of buying a new phone instead. I reviewed a lot of phones for one month before zeroing in on the Z1. He is a small review of the device.
Build*- The build quality of the phone is great. I am using the space grey model which has a matte finish at the back. The back has a subtle curve which helps to have a firm grip on the phone. However, I feel you'd still need a back cover as the phone is slim and could slip off from your hand easily.
Chipset*- Coming to the chipset, the Z1 uses a nearly 2.5 yrs old Snapdragon 801 which was a major factor for me choosing this device. I had used the 800 with my MI3 and the performance was phenomenal. Not even once in my year long heavy usage have I faced a single instance of lag or stutter and no matter what I threw at it, it simply knocked it out of the park. So I was looking for a phone that would have the 800 or a similar processor. The 801 is a flagship 32 bit chipset but can chew up any new low end 64 bit chipset like the 410 or 615 easily. The performance on the Z1 is overall smooth with occasional stutters. I still think the 800 was slightly better in terms of performance but there are many things to consider here, so I'd rank the 801 along the same lines as 800. In fact, the 801 excels in some areas which I will get to shortly. So performance wise, Z1 is top notch.
UI*- The Z1 runs on Cyanogen 12 based on Android 5.1 (lollipop). The OS is highly customizable and gives you a stock android experience. There is no bloatware on the OS. The COS 13 was supposed to be released for ZUK Z1 but it hasn't been released yet (not sure if it ever will be). However the CyanogenMod 13 based on Android 6 is available for the Z1.
Display*- The Z1 has a 5.5 inch full HD IPS LCD panel. Even though it's not as sharp and vivid as an AMOLED screen, but it is quite good. The colors are vibrant and the viewing angles are also good.
RAM and Storage*- The Z1 comes with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal of which around 58 GB is available to the user. OTG is supported.
Camera*- 13 MP rear and 8 MP front shooters. It has Optical Image Stabilization and the images come out to be pretty good in outdoors and even under artificial lightning.
Heating*- Heating is a big concern for smartphone users these days. Surprisingly, the Z1 has minimal heating when compared to its peers, like the Moto G4 plus, which can heat upto 46C and above with extensive usage (20-30 mins). However, with the Z1, even with over an hour of gaming, I haven't noticed any significant heating issues. The MI3 used to heat more than the Z1 and this is where I think the 801 wins over the 800. Also with calls of over 20 mins, I haven't noticed any heating at all. However, be forewarned that many users have reported abnormal heating with their Z1 devices, so I guess that I just got lucky here.
Gaming*- Played Mortal Kombat X and Dead Trigger 2 and faced little to no lag at all. With MK X, I faced very little stutter at times, but most people won't even notice it. Overall, gaming is very smooth on the Z1. Even heavy games like Asphalt 8 and Nova 3 will run smooth.
Call Quality*- Very good. Haven't faced any issues with call quality, however the reception over 4G in my area is not so strong.
Battery*- 4100 mAh battery, which would easily last for 1.5 to even 2 days with moderate usage. Charging time takes around 2 hrs.
Some things that the Z1 lacks:
1. NFC
2. IR blaster.
3. Box doesn't come with earphones.
4. Front flash
Overall, I feel that the Z1 is a good device that you can buy within a budget of 15K rupees.

How does the development scenario feel like to you? There aren't a lot of ROMs currently. What's the possibility of this getting Nougat (via CM14)?
Also, what would you recommend? This or the SD 650 powered Redmi Note 3?

I have not but I don't do anything other then a couple videos, browsing, emails, rss etc. Nothing like games on my devices
It seems to be a trend now. The more powerful phones we get more warmth will be felt. I'm rocking a Z3+ till I pick up my 3T on Monday, and let me tell you my z3+ used to reach 80+ °c easily in an ambient 20°c room. Once I got a kernel and under-clocked it's manageable now. But I'm 100% sure you're device is fine. Like I said more powerful and a metal case will warm up a bit but also passively cool faster. I used to use this benchmark tool as it's the only one apart from geekbench I trust. It measures and tests actual use rather than synthetic loads.

Post a screenshot of the results and temperature graphs if you would please.

Heat

Some phones are great to take camping because if you play Asphalt 8 long enough, the back warms up to the ideal temperature that can bake bread. Rate this thread to express the extent to which the LG Q6 stays cool under extended heavy use. A higher rating indicates that even when playing strenuous games for long periods of time, the phone doesn't get uncomfortably warm.

heating issue with regular usage
I am having heating issue with just regular usage like camera and WhatsApp video call. The frame near volume buttons gets really hot.
Let me know if other are not facing that same issue then I will initiate a replace.

There is a heating near the volume button. I guess its normal. May be a update can help.

Misleading facts LG Q6
LG Q6 Two misleading points advertised:
1) The Processor stated on the LG website and Amazon.in is Snapdragon 435 but the phone has an older Snapdragon 430.
2) The phone is advertised as having a full metal body but the back panel is plastic.

You shouldn't believe the CPU Z app it will tell you 430 instead use CPU X it shows you Qualcomm MSM8940 which actually is the 435 we are talking about.
Why would a company mislead the customer by telling the wrong CPU it is really easy to find it out. Also LG is a reputed brand. On the other hand don't convey wrong info to people do some research then speak up.

Actually I pretty well knew that it doesn't have a metallic body I didn't care but was happy to know that the edges are metallic.
Its not a heating issue, the processor is in the left side, near the volume, its metal, i use the camera and feel the heat, but my phone says its only 36 degrees, not alarming though, its normal.
I have seen users complaining about over-heating of the phone. The volume side of the metal frame does get warm at times but nothing alarming. I am a moderate user. I don't play games but do a lot of other apps, do a lot of browsing and articles reading through browser. I am really very satisfied with this device and its performance. SD435 can only take so much. Heavy users, in my opinion shouldn't buy phones with SD400 series. You know what you are buying. So, don't complain. This is a perfect phone for everyday essentials.
Dont update software , my phone wasnt heating on normal usage but now its warm all the time and battery bakup reduces by 20%
Heating near volume keys
My phone is heating near volume keys badly, it's a faulty device if they have placed the processor near it! I just bought it on 23rd September in an Amazon Sale replacing my old ****ty device for 3k . But I guess they are clearing out the faulty versions in these sales!

This is true.. Battery backup after update is really bad.. Doesn't last even a day..
Its normal mine does not heat
Mine does heat up a little along the sim slot side. But only when running graphic intensive apps. Otherwise, heat is normal.
Mine is good, it doesn't heat up very much even playing games, just feel a little bit warm.
I think the heating issue is more when using mobile data services. And is very high when the signal strength is low.
Gets heated up near the volume buttons.
Its a heater
U do not need room heater in winters
I m selling it becoz its summer
Bought 2 days ago and regretting a lot

why should i pick x performance over z5 premium

Cant decide whether to buy the x performance or z5 premium, either has good points and bad. The 5.5 screen of the z5p and the design is an eye candy to me, but the overheating issue and the 8.0 update which some speculate that the z5p wont have it is holding me back to get the z5p. There's less heating issues in x performance which is good, but what are the main points that i am missing when choosing x performance.
Battery - It will not last you the whole day of you leave your wifi or data on.
Overheating - Continuous heavy task will lead you to overheating. Experienced it while making a 1060p vid. It overheated and I am forced to discontinue my video.
Signal issues - its hard to pick up signal due to its metal build. maybe.
overall it is one heck of a phone. would definitely recommend it.
