Low FPS video recording with rear camera on DEV ROM (5.1.1 Android) - Xiaomi Mi Note Pro

Hi,
decided to start a thread hoping for somebody can help to resolve the issue since xiaomi doesn't submit it as a bug.
Only few of MIUI forum users submit the bug of low FPS video recording - http://en.miui.com/thread-182997-1-1.html You can find there links to videos shared on youtube.
The issue is that when you shoot video HDR off with rear camera on 4K, FullHD, HD modes on DEV ROM you will have video with extremely low FPS (20max on sunny day and 10max in low light scenes). However if you turn on HDR option the FPS is fine at any mode - 30FPS as it should be.
Stable ROM which is 5.0.2. Android has no issue - 30FPS at every camera mod.
So what I tried to do:
1. Clean install (delete everything) and flash China DEV ROM via MiFlash/FASTBOOT - no result.
2. Tried different Camera apps like MX, OpenCamera, Google Camera - no result. Though some of apps show progress - Instagram built-in video mode, lgcamera (but quality is crappy) but they are not very usefull apps for video shooting.
3. Tried to tweak build.prop and media_profiles.xml - no result (some tweaks caused Camera crashes).
4. Tried to change MIUICamera.apk and camera.msm8994.so from MIUI Stable 5.0.2 Android - no result (Camera doesn't work).
Any ideas please?
I'm wondering why nobody cares and not too many users confirm that bug. Nobody shoots the video with Mi Note Pro? Really? It is impossible not to notice such choppy scenes.

Tried to replace camera.msm8994.so file with a file from OP2 (which has the same CPU and camera unit) - no result as well.
Futhermore, OP2 file size is 0.59Mb and Xiaomi file size is 2.62Mb.

News about this bug? It's very annoying...and I don't know why HDR mode makes better FPS, maybe because it decreases the camera exposure, infact images are darker...surprising nobody talks about it and fix it...maybe with kernel source release we will move to a new great ROM

Meizu Camera: ~22 fps (Full HD), quality ~ 3,5/5, bit rate ~ 2,2Mbps.
Stock Camera: ~14 fps (FullHD), quality ~ 4/5 bit (program more sharped), bit rate ~ 1,8 Mbps.
Camera API: ~16 fps (FullHD), quality ~ 4,5/5 (no program sharp), bit rate ~ 5,2 Mbps!
Camera API, 4K (4096x2160), bit rate ~ 5,2 Mbps, but more detail with noise, quality 5/5! ~ 16 fps.
In Stock camera 4K = FullHD, quality, fps very poor.
In Mi Note Pro great sensor's, but software is poor.
Front camera work good, but not smooth ~ 23 fps. And not smooth auto exposition.

Thanks what to do with these camera apk? Are they better from stock? Have to put in system folder with root or just install?

Just install
Note: on 7.3.1.0 stable firmware, no problem with fps in rear camera.

Same problem
I also tried to change my low fps problem on redmi note 3g. I tried many roms, flash zips, build. Prop & init.d editing but nothing was happened. I'm feeling jealous when seeing my friends cams. Pls pls help me to solve this. Thanks in advance..

MiraVision, ClearMotion & (more of 30FPS Now is possible!)

There are at least two very important things for me, and that would be an excellent improvement to the user experience of this phone.
The first is can use MiraVision. This is a great improvement to the image quality.
The software comes preinstalled !!! at least in the weekly version 5.11.26 and 5.12.3 ...
Now you can be activated, and it is magnificent !!! but the settings can not be saved.
When turning off the display, it returns to the default setting.
The second is be able to record video at normal speed, at least at 60FPS. Helio x10 can do that and much more, and the image sensor too, the software why not?
If we succeed in this, the phone would win many positive points.
Anyone wants help me?
Of course you can't save the settings, miui have a stock screen management

Well ... Now you can record video in HD at 60FPS (or more)
The solution is here
But we need help to make it work the "slow motion".
We need the name of the tag for this mode.
You know if it's possible to use clear motion in CM?
That feature is really amazing..

+1 can someone test that?
60 FPS camera
Simply MIUI lacks media_profiles.xml, that usually is included in every Android version in /system/etc
This file is read from multimedia apps in order to get phone's capabilities with camcorder.
If you insert that file in MIUI the stock camera app will read it and the camcorder fps drop will be bypassed. The camera will record at 60fps also in low light condition! Actually file works fine, in fact it will put the exposure at a low level in order to get best fps performance. But it isn't so optimized and the Spanish team is working on it. You can download the file from https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1jCoBYPR8eGbVVXZkM1V2VBdUk/view?usp=sharing
You have to set permission to 644 RW R R
Slow motion will not work for now. But it's great that at least we will have a perfect camera fps for now (720p 60fps and 1080p 46fps).
The question is, why if the hardware of our phone is so powerful Xiaomi made a rom that actually doesn't reflect this powerfulness??
For cyanogenmod we don't have anything right....?
Superb job!

Nope.

for those who have filmic pro

1: Does s10 supports log v2 ?
2: How about autofocus, is it working correctly ?
3: Is it posible to use all three lenses ?
4: Does it have droped frames in extreeme quality ?
Thank you.
My first testing is horrible, tried all qualities:
4k 60fps (not working fine) -> 58.62fps, 58,26fps (the same even quality low)
4k 30fps (fine)
1080p 240fps (not working fine)-> 231,88fps, 228,77fps, 230,51fps
1080p 120fps (not working fine)-> 118 fps
Edit: You can shoot video in HDR+ which results in a flat profile, that can be graded in Premiere very heavily. First it looks completely overexposed, as soon as I check HDR in the lumetri effect in Premiere and bring the kurves down all highlights start coming back. Don't know what log v2 is...
None of the formerly awesome video/editing apps work correctly on the S10+ so far. Very irritating
Then at least there is hope it can be fixed on the Software Side later on... I hope next update will fix things. Of which Video Editing Apps are you talking? My first Samsung.
And back to your question, found this: reddit.com/r/galaxys10/comments/b4x57d/samsung_s10_zhiyun_smooth_4_filmic_pro_log/
I got the S10 plus Exynos and I get an ugly frame drop with Filmic Pro. Don't know what to do anymore.
Tele lens is not working..
Wide angle front and back is working pretty good
So now that it is 2020, have things gotten any better with Filmic and the S10+ ? thx.
Currently app supports 4K 24p Wide, and ultra Wide on S10+ Exynos, and 1080p on front camera. Video recording from front is wider than on stock cam. I'm noticing though issues with the sound - it's not working on internal mic, only at external but not always.

Mi 9T Pro: 8 minutes video limit (4K 60 FPS) and other limits: any solutions?

Hello,
Sum up
I'm looking for a good way to record 4K 60 FPS with an external microphone, and possibly using any camera of the phone.
Why
I'm trying to find a convenient way to record good quality videos with speaking subjects (interviews and such) on the phone.
I aim the best possible quality for comfort and durability. I am therefore trying to film 4K 60 FPS with an external Lavalier microphone plugged in the jack port of the phone. (I'm also using a gimbal and stands depending on the context).
I also want to sometimes use the main camera, and sometimes the wide angle lens.
Phone
I'm using a stock ROM Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro (8GB RAM/256GB Storage, Global version).
Issues
As simple as it seems, I'm encountering a few issues/limitations.
Default video app :
- doesn't seem to take an external microphone
- has mediocre but OK audio compression quality
- has an 8 minutes limit when filming 4K 60 FPS (don't know about other formats).
(My 8 minutes 4K 60 FPS video is 2.2GB, so it doesn't seem to be a file size limit)
- and it's also the only one that seems to support video recording with any lens/camera on the phone...
I'm willing to sacrifice on audio quality if someone can think of a way to use an external mic, and get rid of that 8 minutes time limitation with the default camera app.
Issues with other apps
I've tried a lot of alternate video apps, but none allowed me to record videos using the wide angle lens, or they were bugged or wouldn't take the external mic or woulldn't do 60 FPS in 4K...
- OpenCamera : Works great for everything, most stable so far, OK with external mic, no time limit and all, but no wide angle
- 4K Camera Pro : No 4K 60 FPS (limited to 30 FPS), crashes a lot, no option for using wide angle camera, takes external mic
- Cinema FV-5 Lite : No option for more than 30 FPS, 4K is limited to the pro version, no option for wide angle camera
- HedgeCam2 : Unable to even select 4K anymore after testing the app, couldn't find an option to select another camera, should take external mic, not tested that much.
- Google Camera (from Pixel) : Supports wide angle for photo, but not video. Stopped testing there.
- DJI Mimo : This is the app from my gimbal, no 4K 60 FPS (no framerate option), and won't take external microphone... So it's OK for making footage, but not interviews.
Question
For now, my best option is to forget about the wide angle and to just use Open Camera which is not 100% satisfying...
So my question is this:
Does anyone see a better option? Maybe even a ROM or an addon that could force microphone selection? I'm willing to go to custom builds at this point.
Thank you

Try filmic pro, it's not free but has a huge amount of options when it comes to resolutions, compression/container method, camera and fps, there's actually too much for me to mention, the ui is a little cluttered but I think it's down to having so much stuff

Just got the Filmic Pro app, really great even though it doesn't solve the camera switch issue. Thanks for sharing.
Sent a few suggestions to the devs, we'll see.
One boring thing is it gets back to the default (internal) mic after unplugging the external and does not go back to external when you plug it back. No big deal but might lead to errors. Also, it doesn't support the DJI Osmo Mobile 3 yet, but since the 1 and 2 are supported, it's likely a mater of time. That's awesome already that it supports some gimbals at all.
For the rest, it's pretty cool, I like the interface and ease of use, that's the most professional video app I've seen yet.
We'll see, I'm glad I've got this app in my library anyways.

Question Working GCAM for POCO M3 PRO 5g running custom ROM

Guys, I tried the new Pixel Experience Custom Rom on my Poco M3 Pro 5g and the only problem i faced was that there was no camera, and hence set out to find a nice Gcam with a good xml file so that all the camera could work , ill attach the apk and the xml file here for you guys to enjoy. I found that all the modes were working just fine , although I lost the ability to record videos in 720p 30 fps which I had in the Stock MIUI Rom, but I did get the 1080p 30FPS and 60 FPS Recording feature, the MIUI cam had only 1080p in 30 FPS, the cam does show the 4k recording option but it doesnt work and it wont, you cant expect a 48mp cam on a 13,000Rs phone to record in 4k cause it wont. If you guys have a better option feel free to share it with me
