Replacement battery? - Zenfone 2 Laser Accessories

All of the Zenfone 2 Laser models appear to have removable batteries, including the monster ZE601KL, which I'm planning to buy. But is it actually replaceable? I can easily find Google results for lg g3 replacement battery or samsung s3 battery, but no luck for Zenfone ZE601KL, ZE550KL (my second choice), etc. Can anybody give a link to an online seller or is the removable battery just a gimmick?

since it's a comparatively new and not so famous (compared to samsung) the zenfone will have limited replacement parts online. I would suggest to check the Asus service center/store near you. They ought to have it or may book an order.

You'll have better luck if you search for the battery model: C11P1501 (same battery for both models). As another user posted, it's available at Aliexpress for ~$10. I'm not sure if it's a trust-worthy site.

Note 5 alternatives that are better and cheaper

My Note 4 will be my last phone from Samsung.
Now thinking of the LG G4 Pro when it comes out or there's the new Motorola X Style coming out next month for only £359.99:
http://blog.clove.co.uk/2015/08/14/pre-order-motorola-x-style-359-99-coming-september/
When you compare the specs of this phone and the price to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ 32GB – £600 including VAT (£500+VAT) 64GB – £680 including VAT (£566.67+VAT) you can see how Samsung are rapidly becoming the new Nokia.
Perhaps they shouldn't rely on 'focus groups' so much?
Don't know if cheaper but I'll be moving to LG g4 pro hopefully if it has what I want. Contract expires soon

Yes, the G Pro 4 as the lad above me said, it will be a really heavy hitter. Or...
...the previous Notes, 3 and 4.
True, no 64 bit processors, but the Note 4's camera is comparable to the one in the Note 5, also removable battery, also the same 2K screen.
The Note 3 - camera is obviously weaker, but due to the screen not being 2K, doesn't drain the battery so much, plus we have ports of the Note 4 and S6. The phone is still powerful even today. And these days it's dirt cheap.
Or if you don't care about battery life too much, wait for the new Nexuses. I'm eyeing the Nexus 5 (2015) cause rumors claim it will be Full HD screen instead of 2K + the Snapdragon 820 inside.
Thanks, Samsung, for a 3000 mAh battery in a phone that could have had 4000 easily, and this bull***t "why use your phone for longer when you can charge it faster"? F*** logic.
If my only upgrade options are with pathetic battery life, I think I'll get pathetic battery life with pure Android.
I've also read that the Nexus 5 (15) is going to have the 620 snapdragon.
Yes... The Moto X PE

I don't think we're going to see a phone with the Snapdragon 820 until 2016. I'd love to be proven wrong though. It just got announced.
Best hope we have is a G4 Pro with the full Snapdragon 810 that doesn't overheat and with all we wanted in the Note (removable battery, SD card) and of course what you would expect in a flagship (awesome screen - probably with LG it will be IPS, top end camera, and the other features). I'd love for a return to a Nexus with a removable battery and storage but I don't think that is happening.
The last LG G pro, the LG G pro 2 wasn't released for the US market. Maybe the LG G pro 3 will be different.
The LG g4 isn't really an option because it has inferior graphics performance vs the note 4 and almost no development support.
Anyway I'm going to give the Note 5 a try. If I don't like it, I have 14 days to return it.

Don't be so dramatic . Enjoy your note4, it's a great phone, the s6 is a great phone too, the note5 is a mistake when you consider its predecessors only. Next year Samsung might wisen up and make a great phone again

HTC and Motorola have both done the same thing. They both removed expandable storage and then restored it.
The HTC M7 and Moto X both lacked microsd card support. The HTC restored expandable storage in the M8 and M9 while motorola restored it in the Moto X style.
The best alternative to the Note 5? You already own it, it's called the Note 4!
With that said, if you really don't need the Wacom pen (I do), I'd also have suggested the LG G4 or the Moto X Style/Pure if you can also do without a removable battery, with the latter's strongest selling point being that it works on just about any network you can imagine, no countless variants with locked-out bands like everyone who isn't Apple or Google tends to do.
I still don't believe the LG G4 Pro is a thing until it gets officially announced, but if they stop faffing about with capacitive styluses and put a proper Wacom digitizer in there, they're gonna steal all of the Galaxy Note users ticked off by the Note 5 in one fell swoop.

I'm using a Note 3 and its wonderful. I bought TWO Note 1's. The first one got flakey after a year and I didn't like the Note 2 cause of the narrower screen so I got another Note 1. Now I've upgraded to the Note 3 and the software (AryaMod 7.2 + a kernel with memory compression) is really maturing, I have a 128GB SD which I'll soon upgrade to 200GB, 256GB or 512GB depending on prices at the end of the year. The Note 3 was the great leap forward.
The Note 4 was an incremental step over the Note 3. I bit of a step backwards losing USB 3.0. But otherwise its a Note 3+
The Note5 is an evil degenerative troll. They should just cancel it and wait till next year.
Hopefully sales will be so bad that they will be compelled to release a fixit version of the Note 5 with SD, and either removable battery or make the silly thing water proof to give you a reason the battery can't be removed.
The Note5 is an abomination. Stick with the Note 3 or 4 till the Note 6 comes out.

Really I think it will be a good phone, one of the best on the market but for note4 and s6 owners this phone won't be a straight upgrade more of a sidegrade, where you sacrifice some functionality for other functionality. It shouldn't have been, it should have a clear upgrade
The Note 5 has a lot of competition
The Huawei Mate 8 is launching next month.
Add this to the growing list of Note 5 alternatives:
http://vinereport.com/article/huawei.mate.8.mate.8.to.be.officially.released.in.ifa.new.phone.will.have.front.facing.led.flash.for.front.cam/2344.htm
That mate 8 phone sounds really impressive but these phones need to have some kinda pen especially since their bigger .. I hope the g4 pro ends up releasing
Biggest problem is every damn phone out there have somefunction wich is missing compared to N4
Exempel. Most phones dont have IR like moto
Removabale battery
The S pen and muti window
Support for my Gear S
No wireless charging
And other small stuff... So whatever damn phone i look at is missing functions
Im stickning with my N4 and dont know why we all Gotta chnage phones..mine is great.
Btw. Note 3 owners. Uppgrade to N4 i have them both at Home and n4 is better and worth it.

For me, the main festure I want that Samsung has now failed on with both the Note 4 and Note 5, is a larger screen than my Note 3. All the things they did taking steps backwards with the Note 5, is just adding insult to injury for me. I don't care what the hell was in the phone, if it still a has a "small ass" 5.7 inch screen, I don't want it. Now I'm completely ready to jump to another manufacturer, after having the original Note and then Note 3, as long as someone comes out with a high end phone with a larger screen than 5.7 inches.

I definitely agree in that the Note 3 was the biggest leap forward, given the jump to 1080p, USB 3.0, S800, IR blaster and so forth.
The Note 4 lost USB 3.0, ambient temp and humidity sensors for whatever dumb reason, but I do like the fast charge, pen tilt sensitivity and Gear VR it brought to the table. It probably helped that I was coming from an S3 (would've been a Note 2 if I had my way); coming from a Note 3, you'd gain a lot less, even losing a little.
But you'd lose a lot less than going to the Note 5. Samsung really screwed us this time, and I can only hope they realize their error by bringing back everything with the Note 6.

Help on buying new device

Hi. After two (tragic) years with Xperia SP, i'm deciding to sell it to buy my first flagship device this week. Currently, I have three options: Xperia Z3, Oneplus One or Zenfone 2 4gb. What do you guys think is the best of these three, considering the price and development support? TIA

Asus Zenfone 2 uses Intel chipset so as of now very little development support. Otherwise it is best & cheapest option.
Amongst 1+1 and Z3 I would definetely choose Z3 anyday.
Thanks for the reply. Any thoughts about LG G3?

Ofcourse LG G3 is an excellent choice but it has 1 bad flaw .. it is the battery
However, the another features are fantastic . contains a good camera , software and design
But in my opinion , The Z3 is the best choice of them

Interesting phone, i wanted to get it, but asus decided to remove sd slot, and to put usb 2.0 type-c port. There is nothing flagship about that
I know that doesnt matter to most users, but cmon, its 2021... Usb 2.0 on a sd888 16gb ram ufs 3.1 phone???
Hope to see twrp and some good rom too it soon
Just placed my order.
Have 14 days to try it out and to see if it will replace my IPhone 12 mini.
Truly fantastic phone. instant buy.
Hope GCam will be available for non root device.
Question to the Asus longtime users.
Is there any way to get the phone cheaper at launch? some special promo ot stuff?
Can someone verify if there will be a USA release? The current spec sheet doesnt have compatible 5g bands for T-Mobile.
@Haldi4803
here in Germany there is a little Promo for Pre-Order
and a Shop sell the 128gb with 8GB for 599€
How is the ASUS politics about bootloader unlock and de-googling phones? I would buy it as soon as I can use it without Google.
The battery life seems really pitiful and with that 33w lackluster charging I do not feel it's that great a device these paid reviewers are making it to be. 5.5 hours SOT is not something to boast about.
It would've been perfect if ASUS would've chosen the Snapdragon 870, which makes sense considering the mediocre cameras that don't even need the DSP of the 888 and almost equal performance to it and much better throttling/thermals and battery efficiency.
So sad.

No, Ubuntu is not feasible at the moment, unfortunately their OS is not compatible with many phones and they do not have all the apps. Yes, I know you were ironic, btw.
FYI, I would like to use it with LineageOS or similar ROMs, without gapps, for a variety of reasons:
Because I do not need most of Google apps and services;
Because Google Play Services eats battery doing things I do not want to,;
Because I like having more control of what is happening on my devices;
There are also a privacy concern which is real, Rob Braxman on YouTube can tell you more about that.
Regarding my initial question (that you haven't replied), I suppose I will keep monitoring the XDA and 4pda forums and see how things will evolve.
Asus provide bootloader utility for previous devices, should be up for zenfone 8 soon.
I will add signature spoofing and degoogle stock rom. I have done it for all my devices: improved battery life and full control.
When is the phone going to be released in the UK? Cannot find any information whatsoever?

Did you try any of Asus previously published unlock apps? For example, this one looks rather generic:

EDIT:
I was right, I think.
Asus actually published the same unlock tool under the ZS690KS folder:

Question Asus Zenfone 9

Hoping the zenfone 9 keeps more or less same form factor 5.9 inch and upto 16 gigs of ram but put in a bigger battery. Which prevented the 8 from being a great phone.
I would love to see a 6.2" screen with better screen to body ratio and just a little bigger body to accomodate a 5000mAh battery. Zf8 is so compact, that it can grow a milimeter or 2 in every direction.
I would love to see a Zenfone 9 mini with the dimensions of iPhone 13 mini, Cam with OIS, midrange soc, stereo speaker, Amoled.
I would settle even for the size of the iphone 8 / SE 2020.
... i would love to see a zenfone 9.
That's not so easy. If you aim for a bigger battery, they need to make the phone larger. People calling for a larger battery are missing the point that you actually want to improve durability, not size of the battery. It can also be solved with more efficient SoCs, or more efficient software. This is the only way we can keep the small form factor. Also note that smaller phones need less battery due to smaller display, so the mAh are not comparable between compact and regular sized phone.
16 GB for Zenfone 8 is already available, just costs a few extra dollars.

The battery would actually be better if the SoC wasn't so inneficient at idle/low loads. Hopefully the wait for the Zenfone 9 is because Asus is waiting for Qualcomm to release the rumoured TSMC-built 8Gen1 which should be much better than the Samsung-made chips like the current 8Gen1 or 888

I'm looking on amazon for a replacement camera and saw different brands (BZN, allcecase, DDTAO, ...). Is there any difference between them and what do you recommend?
