[alternative] alternative double chop flashlight - X Play Themes and Apps

I found this app on play store that might be our best alternative double chop flashlight like we wanted in Moto action.
It's called shake flashlight, it works a bit the same like double chop but you can "shake it on", hehehe get it? "shake it off" by Taylor Swift.... No? too soon?...... okay....
Anyway, comment down if you have something to else to say or what you have experienced.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androidrocker.shakeflashlight
Edit: How to make it permanent even after reboot(You have to be rooted):
1 - download lucky patcher, for some of you already familiar with it. Skip this
http://lucky-patcher.netbew.com/
2a- run lucky patcher and choose "shake flashlight" -> tool ->move to system app -> reboot -> voila, enjoy
2b- you can do the same as Titanium backup too but the lucky patcher worked alot faster for me.
If it works, please don't forget to hit "thanks"

Bomb-diggity. Thanks so much for the walkthrough dude this is the best way to get the flashlight working for sure. I used to assign it to a long press softkey but not anymore! Great idea!

It need's a few tweak, man, it's not perfect but it'll helps you in some way or another. maybe in future update it'll be more efficient.

I'm using it now. Need to chop at least 3 times to work. Consider triple chop gesture then

I only chopped twice, I changed the sensitivity to 1 , take a slight force to chop but it was worth it, other sensitivity is very unstable to me.

I'm having sensitivity set to 6. Lower than that I feel like throwing my phone on the floor

Yeah but guys the app is a shake to wake, not a chop. I think the chop feature is deep in the system somewhere, as some root apps will show that it's a setting that has been disabled in the system (perhaps future kernels/software updates will bring the feature out).
I wouldn't recommend karate chopping the thing - just set the sensitivity low and shake it a bit.

Not bad but using it with the moto camera twist feature is not recommended =(

good job
you still need SuperSU, I've achieved simply by changing the nomre team in the build.prop

App now on the market, thanks for all your help.
great emulation. see my magic/sapphire device specs below...
no sound
very slow response to fire/shoot tap
...other than those issues, nice work.
Hi, great looking and I like the neat touches about adding 10p etc.
Comments - as posted above, no sound and the motion of the base is very slow either by motion detection or using the trackball. Though the trackball seemed to be very intermittent.
I'm running a T-Mobile G2 touch with the latest stock rom. All other background apps, had been disabled too.
Most gracious thanks for your comments. I think I've found the sound bug proper now. I've also found a vast improvement in speed after some GFX tweaks.
The control issues sound odd as both the emulator & my i7500 don't have these problems (but neither have a trackball, the emulator has no sensor), maybe the speed increase will fix things, as the phone was probably getting bogged down with unnecessary drawPixels.
Version 5 is available in the 1st post above, be grateful of any further feedback.
Edit: I've also updated the sensor updated time to maximum to see if that helps.
Great improvemnet.
Sound - now works, firing, explosions, flying saucer. Though the sound of the "invaders" moving is slow, but I am guessing that is as the original?
Movement - The motion sensor works fine now, though the trackball still does not function for left or right movement. If you try the trackball, the app says "motion sensor disabled", but the trackball does not move the player. The fire function works when you depress the ball though.
I love it, takes me back
Daft question but
Could this be used with other arcade roms?

Yes, a limited few though, those what run on similar 8080 hardware (a few tweaks may be needed).
I will probably add these later.
OK, nearly at the finishing post. I reckon I've sorted the trackball issue, though I don't have a device with a trackball to test it on. I've also added the suggested full screen mode, though it runs a bit slow even after skipping a few frames, but I've left it in for the moment as it will encourage me to further optimize (will probably have a go at h/w acceleration in v2).
Version 6 Now available in the 1st post.
Trackball works fine now, not sure if it's just me but it seems slower than using the tilt method. Nice work.
I prefer the "bordered" view as it reminds me of the actual screen in the cabinet with the border around the black and white screen. Though on some machines they added coloured bands across the screen so that the invaders "appear" to change colour the lower they got. Maybe you could add that in?
"Edited"
Just a thought, not sure if you can do it, but can you override the "back" key functionality, then you could use it as a fire button and the trackball would be movement only. This way it is slightly more authentic in having the left right control and a fire button just like the original.
OMG that's slow!
Uninstalled... sorry
Love the idea, though

Seem to have a problem there... read the new control instructions in version & to see if that helps. It's hard to sort until I get a real device.

I've tried extra hard to speed things up a bit more in version 7.
Might be able to squeeze a bit more???
NEW UPDATE: v7
more speed
vibrator
control tweaks
U seem to just have increased the gamespeed, it still laggs like before.
Very slow and lag in sound.
Looks promising...
Hi guys and gals.
Long story... Gave my code a bit of decent profiling to see what was going on with the trackball. Seems like the cpu emulation core is taking so much time up that there is very little left for the main thread to pick up any events, and when it did, it bogged down the cpu thread. Trackball events have a huge time overhead with keyPressEvents the least, TouchEvents lie some where in the middle.
A nice solution would be to replace my java 8080 cpu source with native code (anyone want to help out here?), but my skills level is probably not up to it.
So, trackball support has now gone completely , replaced with screen buttons. Dpad will still work though, and touching almost anywhere on the screen, other than the left/right buttons will fire too (so your fingers aren't all over the place). Let me know what you's all think.
Found some extra speedups from the cpu core too, but had to butcher a lot of nicely structured code to get the gains.
Updated the first Post with the last version.
Thanks all.
Tidied up the GUI and while I was there...
Deluxe Support.
Catch the APK in the first post.
Could someone give it a final try to see if the controls problem has been fixed???
Thanks very much.
Now on the market. Thanks for all your help.

Camera Easy [free]

Hi
this is my latest creation, an easy camera app,
in short words, you can change the resolution on the fly and all commands (like resolution zoom etc.) are on camera screen.
And More when you click the image just shot don't blocks visual so you can shoot more fast.
here's the link to market
windowsphone-com/en-US/apps/1aa27aa6-5991-4798-97e3-73df8446db76
and this is the "official" text:
Camera Easy is a “easy to use” and practical camera application.
No complicated settings,
no unnecessary menus and submenus,
all settings are fast, minimal, easy to understand, and mains of these are on camera display, to avoid unnecessary clicks.
One important feature is that once a photo is taken, camera will not display image just taken, but continue to display camera image stream, so is fast to take multiple photos.
these are the main features:
- Self-timer
- Resolution, flash, self-timer, are all on camera display
- Digital Zoom
- Local photo gallery, with multiple rename, delete… to
- Save to phone gallery button
- Sound on / sound off
- Help screen
- Metro UI
- Free
thanks for attention
Link is incorrect because there must be dot, no dash (windowsphone-com)
Correct is: windowsphone.com/en-US/apps/1aa27aa6-5991-4798-97e3-73df8446db76

Nice App.
Can you add date and time stamp just like WM 6.5?

Can you also modify or add a widescreen resolution in the settings?.. and then label it with "6MP (16:9)" or "4MP (16:9)"?
Photos looks better this way in my opinion.
Looking forward to it, thanks for a nice app. I'll recommend it to my friends.

Hi I've upload a video on youtube for better explain how camera easy works on wp7, just a video help, here the link:

I can't write links so subst _ with /
thanks
ok here's link and video I've found the way to post a link
http://youtu.be/BVk9XLsKvME
nice app
Thanks
very promising indeed, but you could add:
*Tap screen to autofocus+shoot
*theme colored buttons
*option to aways start on "take photo" mode
*remake flash icon to a thunder-arrow-like (flash icon usually is one); the actual icon looks like bright settings, therefore isnt so intuitive
*drop "owner identity" permission
>rotate pic(s) before save to galery
>while viewing a photo on "photos", slide left/right to show previous/next taken photo
>change icons to ones more like default camera app
>zoom buttons feels more confortable on the right(?)
## "overtake" camera shutter button (like the lumos app does to turn on/off his led flashlight)
"*" means the fundamental things are missing, in my humble opinion
">" means secondary tweaks,
"##" means utopia: all previous tweaks were achieved, people now use camera easy as their default camera app, pinned to their start screen, so now the one step left is to completely overtake the camera button
but offcourse, this are only my opinion; you may use them or not
but if you do, i'll be more then happy to beta-test it!
cheers

glad i could help =)
about the "> Tap screen to autofocus+shoot", you mean you r not sure if its usefull/fundamental or if its possible?
Either way, it feels fundamental for me because of how precise it is (on the native app at least, as the physical button pressing may shake your phone and ruin the photo).
About it impossibleness, i think i test other camera app with this function, im not sure. Maybe you could do your custom buttons as a "mask" on the default camera app? Well, i dont know if it even makes sense since im no developer myself =p
About the twitter, i think you do can add it on your profile or signature, but as im new here, i woudnt trust me =$
oh yes, another suggestion i just thought: multiple shots! =)
im rooting for updates
take care
I'm just wondering. Why is the owner identity necessary?
Hi thanks again for your feedback, about autofocus "> Tap screen to autofocus+shoot"
is possible, but I not see the needs, bytheway I've seen somethings like that some mouth ago, but I see something like hold = focus and once focus shot...
and multiple shot is on the way
to npoe: ??? what you mean?
In the marketplace there is a list of function that the app uses and listed are:
Camera
Owner Identity
Music and Video Library
Phone Identity
Data services

ok this is what microsoft add reading xap, I dunno how avoid this, and set only what I really need... in this case:
Camera!
Music and Video Library is put because I've include some lib to manipulate image (this lib made by microsoft, contains other services), data service I think and Phone Identity is used by microsoft ads...
it's the same for Owner Identity,
just to be clear nobody look your name, tel. number, but maybe ads service can put just something like cookie... so no fear...
for other question I'm here
Thanks for the answer. I just gave it a try and the app is fast; I'll try to find something cool to take some photos and let you know my comments.

Note 4 must have tweaks? Add yours here

I'm new to the "note" line, coming from a regular galaxy s3. I thought it might help me and others to post what others might consider must have tweaks. I know I have found a couple by mistake that pretty awesome.
Xposed framework. (A tweak that allows you to add other tweaks from different repositories)
Network speed indicator for xposed. (Adds data speed indicators in status bar)
Wanam for xposed. (Many system tweaks)
YouTube adaway for xposed. (Pretty obvious)
Now you guys add some more below [emoji106]
Whitepages caller id.
5x5 Launcher.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-sprint/themes-apps/4x5-touchwiz-home-t2910243
Should have been this way from the beginning.
Other than that, ES File explorer, or any root explorer, and start deleting stuff.
Where to begin lol . .
Nova launcher prime to get half grid placement, no padding for widgets and full control over grid size.
Adaway
Titanium Backup to disable things
Greenify
Switchr for quick recent application switching keeps me from being irritated with the recents list lag LOL
Xposed module Amplify to reduce wakelocks
Xposed module BootManager to control what starts up on boot
Xposed module Complete Action Plus and Custom Share to take control of actions and share options
Xposed module NoSafeVolumeWarning to get rid of the stinkin safe volume nag screen
Xposed module YouTube Adaway
Xposed Module Wanam Xposed
GMD gesture control to add custom gestures
Probably one of my favorite mods is GMD Gesture Control which I fell in love with on my Note Pro 12.2 and have now set up identically on my Note 4. With it I have set up some great gestures like 3-finger down for Back, 4 finger tap and hold for Alt-Tab, 4 finger pinch for Home, 4 finger swipes left/right to change previous/next apps, 4 fingers swipe down for menu, 3 finger double tap for my texting app, 3 finger hold for my music app . . etc. etc. practically endless possibilities.
Awesome guys! I hope this becomes an awesome thread!
Blurred system UI is a huge must for me.
Greenify
App Settings( to change dpi, apps look better smaller)
wanam
Noise Recuction
It would be nice to be able to set the noise reduction feature independently for the phone and any Bluetooth headset/speaker phone. As it is, it is either on or off regardless of whether you're using a the phone alone or with a Bluetooth device. I would like to keep the noise reduction always on while using just the phone and always off when using Bluetooth.

I really like the 3D next launcher. Also, DK 3.0 for my ROM. He has lots of treaks built into the ROM. Viper 4 Android is awesome for sound mods. If you all have any questions about any of the above listed mods feel free to ask or PM me. Cheers
I'd like a dark themed Note. Also to keep the cool screen animations on the lock screen even with live wallpaper. Also aosp whenever it hits.
I also forgot to mention GPE 3.0 theme for DK 3.0. Really nice stuff.

Moto Z2 Force Must-Do's

Moto Z2 Force Must-Do's
1) Install a glass screen protector
Immediately. Unless you like scratches on your screen, install a tempered glass screen protector the first minute you take the phone out of the box. Scratches will appear magically on the stock screen within the first day unless you do this. I suggest a screen protector that is tempered, no thicker than .4 mm, and has a quality oleophobic coating. Cheaper no-name screen protectors have an oleophobic coating that will wear off in a month, have really high reflections, and adhesion glue that doesn't stick evenly.
2) Speed up animations
-Open settings > About phone > tap "Build number" 7 times
-Settings > Developer options > scroll down and change all 3 animation speeds to .5x
3) Change DPI
Just below the animations speed adjustment in developer options is the ability to manually adjust the DPI. I find that even the "small" stock setting isn't right.
-Settings > Developer options > scroll down and change "Smallest width" to 460
4) Disable wireless charging notification
I love the Motorola phones, but the wireless charging notification is beyond frustrating. If you set the phone on a wireless charger you get an animation that shows you are now charging, followed by another animation that tells you how much juice is left in your main battery and your battery pack (if you have one). Looks cool, but locks the phone up for like 10 seconds. If you set it on the charger and then realize you needed to quickly send another text or unlock the phone, you have to wait until all that animation is done first. This has no effect on the phones ability to charge.
Settings > Apps > 3 dots in the top right > Show system > scroll down to "Inductive charger" and select it > click Disable
5) Disable bloat
This one will be up to you with what you want to disable. A lot of the stuff on this phone that is preinstalled can actually be uninstalled, which is good. The rest you have to just "disable". I would recommend you immediately disable the Lookout Security app as it is a trash app which hogs a ton of resources. The rest is up to you. To disable apps it's the same procedure as disabling the wireless charging notification:
Settings > Apps > choose the apps you would like to disable
I have my width to 480 because some apps at that point give a tablet UI which looks a lot better. Like Now for Reddit.

I'm at 590. 600 will force tablet mode, but I don't really like it. After having a z3 compact for years I got used to using a smaller dpi to fit more onto a comparatively smaller screen. I really appreciate that I don't have to have root/xposed/small apps, or edit the buildprop to change dpi.
Also, I personally went with an illumiaqua shield over the typical tempered glass. I prefer the feel of plastic skins like this, skinomi or zagg back in the day.

So, now that we've got Root and a working TWRP, what's everyone doing for cleanup and tweaks?
Motorola doesn't add much in the way of garbage, but there are a few apps I might drop like Moto Update.
Maybe an audio mod and theming for additions.

Love the new quick launch feature on the OnePlus 6T. Here's how to use it!

Unlike other OEMs out there that use the in-display fingerprint scanner to just unlock the device, OnePlus actually gives you the ability to quickly launch other apps as well. That's just frigging amazing and I absolutely love it. You can check the full tutorial here - https://themrphone.com/article/oneplus-6t-quick-launch-apps-screen-unlock
Kind of a bummer that you still need to wake the display in the first place to actually use the in-display fingerprint scanner, but still, this is good nonetheless.
Nice, thanks for info.
Yes, completely agree that having to wake the display in the first place to actually use the in-display fingerprint scanner is a bit of a step back. Fingers crossed for a Magisk module!

The screen has to be woken in order to light your finger. UD readers use a camera behind the OLED panel to take a picture of your fingerprint, and the panel is what actually lights your finger for that shot. The only compromise I could see would be something to keep the rest of the screen dim/blank and only activate the fingerprint area, but it'll still require you to wake the screen.

The "tap to wake" feature already available pretty much solves this "problem". You simply press your finger onto the "off" display in the place where the fingerprint reader is located (easy to do after some practice) and the display turns on, fignerprint scanner illuminates and reads your finger which then unlocks the phone.

Yeah, aod is probably something that can do the job at the lowest acceptable lighting requirement to read the FP.

I do hope they tweak how bright the screen has to be, but from all I've read, those pixels have to be at full blast to get an accurate read on the fingerprint., so they probably need to at the very least need to regionally brighten that area of the screen fully on the ambient screen. Someone out there more clever than I will surely figure it out in a way that doesn't compromise security. Hoping it's OnePlus, but we've got an incredible community that can take a swing at it too!
Mine do not have any such feature..
Though the feature is cool I am not happy with the experience. It's not smooth, it shows pattern input screen for a while before showing quick launch menu.
Also the home screen/last app screen before the quick launch and the vibrations (too intense) are also bummer
What version of OxygenOS are you on? I'm on 9.0.3 and I don't seem to have the Quick Launch option?!

Hello mate!
I've already solved this by enabling the apps that I disabled before (like Google Pay, Google Music/Video and a few others). Then, once the quick launch worked, I disabled again those apps. :good:
still waiting for 9.0.4 to have this

TMO variant is missing quite a few other things, to be precise

by default, the quick launch is set to open a few google apps preinstalled on the device.
If you disabled/removed some of them, but didn't remove them on the quick launch list before that, then it's going to crash every time you open the quick launch setting.
Enable every default app and try again, if it still doesn't work then factory reset and next time remember to remove all apps in this setting before disabling them.

That's why I keep going back to the intl firmware. Quick launch and OnePlus lab. Phone feels much more premium and snappy with intl
