Samsung Clear View Case for S7 Edge - will you risk using one ? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Accessories

So I preordered an S7 Edge and I am now looking for a case. The ideal for me seems to be the official Clear View Cover, so I can see the always-on screen through the transparent front plastic panel.
However, I read many horror stories about the official clear view cover for the S6 Edge scratching the screen.
One option would be to use a film protector on the screen together with the case, but it would just be too much for me and the screen protector would probably need replacing every month or so if the case would still have the scratching issue.
I wonder if Samsung did something to avoid this with their new Clear View cover for the S7 Edge ? What do you think ? Should I risk ordering it ? It is quite expensive compared to other options.

It's mostly user error becuase, but either way I don't like folio cases so I won't be getting one.

issue is when the cover is closed the cover slides on the glass... and since it's not felt or soft touch, it grinds up the dust/dirt that might be on the screen...

Believe me the S6 Edge Clear View case scratching the screen is not user error. There's a whole thread with the details. My screen got scratched the first week, and I returned it to Samsung to have a new screen fitted. After that it came back with a thick and ugly screen protector that only covered the middle third of the screen and the message "if you leave that on you can keep using the cover". Needless to say it came off and so did the cover.
Now I have the same dilemma as the OP, my phone supplier (Telia Denmark) messed up and promised delivery of my S7 Edge this week, but they can only get it next week so they gave me a DKK 500 (£50) voucher for their accessory shop - this would cover a Clear View cover for my S7 Edge but I'm not buying it if it has the same problems as the S6 Edge one did. The alternative is to buy something unrelated, but the only thing I really need is a wireless charging pad which they unfortunately don't stock..
So if anyone familiar with the issue has access to one of the new S7 Edge Clear View covers, I'd like their opinion on whether they have done something to fix this issue. The main cause was that the inside of the front cover was extremely hard plastic, and that there was play so the front cover could move around and drill tiny particles into the glass when it was kept in the pocket. I suppose there'd be two ways to fix this, either coat the inside in some soft material or eliminate the play of the front cover against the screen when it's closed.

I have my S7 Edge in an official Clear View case and I can't for the life of me figure out how to make the damn phone keep the always on display showing when the case is closed. No matter what it just goes into sleep mode.
I really hope it's something I'm doing wrong otherwise it's a bit embarrassing for an official accessory to behave this way.
EDIT: Forgot to say, I can see daylight between the case and the screen when it's closed over. It feels soft but I can see how if some grit got in there and it was in a tight pocket or something it could cause scratches. But that would be true of any case.

Thanks for the reply - I guess the sleep mode thing is just a bug that'll be fixed in an update, because it's listed on the Danish Samsung website as one of the features that you can see the "always on" display through the case.
The main point here is that you say it feels soft - that's definitely NOT the case on the S6 Edge case, which feels completely hard. So it sounds like they have changed the material, in which case I might give it a go!

I think I might have used the wrong word. I think smooth is a better word to describe it, the material is definitely still hard.

apparently the s7 edge clear view case has been redesigned to prevent it scratching.. not sure how true that is though.. it looks like there's a little circular felt sticker on one corner..

Thanks for this - however, what looks like a felt sticker in the corner I think is just the magnet that the phone uses to detect that the cover is closed, there's a similar one on the S6 Edge cover.
The video does seem to suggest that the issue has been fixed, but I'd still like a 100% confirmation before I order one - I ended up going back to the cover on my S6 Edge after I my screen got bit scratched anyway, and now after about a year there are literally hundreds of those small circular scratches on my S6 Edge display. Don't want the same thing to happen to my S7 Edge

I have the s7 edge and also bought the clear view cover today. Not sure but i think they tried to fix it by lifting the cover from the screen. Only the edges seem to touch the cover. The screen itself has a space to the cover. The magnet in the corner seems to still rub on the screen. But we will see. I have a mich bigger problem! The always on display is deactivated as soon as the phone is in the cover and closed... the clock appearence changes and goes off after some secs.... i was not able to fix this till now. And as the new always-on feature is the best for me, i will give back the cover if this is a general issue and will not be fixed soon.

Similar issues are with S7 Edge Clear View Cover as well, within Three weeks of use have caused scratches on my S7 edge near the edges :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
PS: Does not recommend to buy S7 edge Clear View Cover at all…..!

I guess I'm lucky to always have had a rear screen protector/skin.

Wow that's bad.
I got my S6 scratched and thought long and hard when it came to my s7 but did not as I got a shop to open the case and found the same flex on the case that causes the scratching issue.
It is things like this and exploding phones handled poorly that loose customers.

Can anyone please help me to find, where in menu od S7 Edge can be found possibility to activate or disactivate Clear View Cover option?
In my previuos Samsung phone it was named S.View and was located in Accessories menu.

Using it and truly speaking it's cool. Using it with screen protector so no need to worry about scratch.

Galaxy note broken screen after only 2 weeks: anyone else?

Hello. I bought a galaxy note on 28th november. After only 2 weeks of absolutely normal and careful use, my screen is scratched and broken. Ok, it is a small crack, but it is not good.
It never fell and it never hit anything. After only 2 days, i noticed some scratchs and some other came in the days after. Then, the part of the screen between the upper edge and the speaker broke in two, with a crack (small, 5mm but still a crack) going from the edge to the speaker. I can't post a photo as i sent it back to samsung for repairs (it had also display issues). Do you know a reason for it? It should be gorilla glass, and i only kept it in my pockets without anything inside apart the smartphone. Do you think samsung will repair it since it happened during normal use after ONLY 2 weeks? I'm really annoyed and disappointed.
Anyone experiencing glass resistance issues?
Thanks
Call samsung and send it in they will fix it..

Yes, i did it and i'm waiting, and i also adressed the lines issue and the green/banded screen, but i am in italy and i'm not sure if it is covered by warranty, it should: they can say i broke it.
The Corning Gorilla Glass was one reason I went with the SGS2.
The other reason was fear of provoking the wrath of God for having such a sensationally beautiful device (the Note). It's an awesome device, really.
But God smote those who worshiped a golden calf, too.
lol Sorry, I'm not really a religious fanatic. But yeah, sucks about your screen. Hope Sammy fixes that one up for you.
Welcome Nickelsilver and please don't take this personally and in NO way I'm defending Samsung or the Note but I have to say the neither scratches or dents/cracks come by their own.
They just don't happen/appear magically by themselves on the phone's screen/body. Maybe someone is messing with you Note without you knowing it?
E.g: I have 1mm small and barely noticeable scratch on the top left corner which I suspect it came from the ONLY 1 time my Note slipped from the passenger's seat and fell in the gap between the passenger's door/seat.
I went through 3 screens on my dell streak. Now that I have the note which is even bigger I was so cautious I treated it like a delicate fragile little flower. Needless to say after 2 weeks I noticed what appeared to be a scratch going up from the bottom middle halfway up. Turns out this is not a magical scratch that sprang out of nowhere but an actual crack on the outer glass screen. I have never dropped it but perhaps it was somehow flexed.
No warranty of course. I have ordered the glass itself from overseas and when it gets here in a month I suppose I will try replacing that piece individually as its only the outer glass that seems cracked. Hopefully they do not glue the screens together like they did in the streak ><

Ps. Dont listen and worry about this guy...he thinks only his opinions are important and others experiences are just JUNKS and BORING! Not sure why he would even bother to reply, if they really bores him that much. Maybe he really thinks that he BOOFY the witch hunter or something
Plus.. He forgot that he has also once posted a question regarding to his screen problem too here on the forum.
Gorilla glass is bull****. I had dell 5 streak, and I changed the screen more than 5 times. Little drop will result in screen loss. Do not depend on gorilla glass.
My Samsung Galaxy Note are broke
Yesterday I was knocked out of the hands under my 40 days old Samsung Galaxy Note, the cover glass is cracked along its entire length as a spider's web, while the LCD screen is not damaged, that still works, receiving the touch command. The solution I found in the orders of the new protective glass over eBay. Maybe that was too much angry because it happened to me, but NOTE is too amazing, and I somehow survive.. I'll let it be when we come new safety glass
I do not think this is a witch hunt. More of an informative thread on one weakness to an otherwise amazing device. It may be that until an indestructive clear glass is created that we will continually face this on any large phone. Anything this large will flex easily and likely crack. One thing Samsung definately did right was not glue the glass to the LCD behind it. I put a clear screen cover over mine and you cant even see the crack anymore. Were this a dell streak you would have half of your screen blacked out.
This is definitely the best mobile device out there in my opinion, people should just be extremely cautious with where they carry it. Mine most likely cracked in my pocket from slight flexing.
The glass on the note shouldn't break even when flexed unless it's not Gorilla glass.
Gorilla glass is not only scratch resistant,it is also shatter resistant.
If the glass is breaking frequently on the notes, then I wonder if they really have Gorilla glass.

That demonstration glass at the beginning of the video is about 3 times thicker than what Samsung uses on the Note/Galaxy S2/Galaxy S SAMOLED panels. And it's quite a bit smaller, height/width wise (it's about iPhone 4 sized).
Thickness makes a significant difference in flexibility and shatter resistance. Which is off on a tangent, because the main reason Samsung and others uses GG and similar techniques is not for shatter resistance.
It's almost entirely for the combination of higher scratch resistance vs metals (all bets are off with sand particles) and a better tactile feel (it's smoother) than non-treated glass.
Sure it may not be as thick on the note but you are never going to flex the phone anywhere as much as that demonstration.
My point is that if it is gorilla glass,it shouldn't be that easy to crack the screen given the abuse that it is supposed to be able to take.
All these? Gorilla Glass
And all these? Gorilla Glass
How about all these? Gorilla Glass
Or maybe all these? Gorilla Glass
It's been 10 days since i bought "the Note". I dropped the device just once from 1 meter height. It was a free fall with not much impact power. The screen has a crack on the upper right corner. I know every product is meant to last but so easy , so fast ! ??? Thankfully it still works with no functional issues. It's just the protective glass on top of the actual LCD that is broken. But u can still feel it while wiping your finger and it is appearent...
Hardware wise The Note is simply outragous but when it comes to software and durability it can't even come closer to what i used to find on HTC devices

The weight of the note will count against it during falls compared to say a very light phone like the SG2.Impact is going to be much harder if they both fell from the same height especially given te size of the notes screen.
Until they can make the note lighter, users will just have to be more careful not to drop it.Gorilla glass is not unbreakable.
I get my note tomorrow. Now I'm all paranoid

Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge replacement back glass

Has anyone seen replacement back part for the Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge as of yet? I've tried searching around on eBay but haven't found anything yet (maybe too soon right now).
If not too expensive (since it's just glass) I was hoping to stock up on a few of these just for spare in case it ever gets cracked (I'm okay with the heatgun removal method).
Sidenote: Another reason for personally getting one is because I am getting the Verizon-branded model so hoping to replace that ugly back.

I plan on going caseless so I would like to be ready to account for accidental drops and scratches rather than buying the part later when I need it. It's pretty cheap and honestly not that hard for me to replace. I fix mobile devices at work so I have plenty experience working with heatguns. Of course I was partially kidding about buying so many, I'll just buy one for now.
There'll inevitably somebody using a half black half white S6!

For some reason they do have different part numbers so it could very likely be ever-so-slightly different on the Edge model. I would be safe and get the Edge version instead if you can.
OP, I watched the tear down video you posted (as well as another one) . Seems to me that if you break the back glass it's a simple fix, but if you break the front glass, it's a VERY involved process to replace it at home. Since removing the back glass seems very simple compared to front one.
Is that accurate?

Well if you break the back glass yes it's very simple, just have to heat it and come right off with a suction cup. But the front glass is fused to the display so you would have to replace the display and glass all in one essentially. It's not particularly hard otherwise just a few more steps and things to take out involved.
Yep. Ordering 1 and having it at the house just in case something happens to my phone. I never use case so I want to be prepared

Yeah, back glass seems really easy, and if I break it, I'd just order the part # you liked us to, and do it myself.
For the front though, it looked like there was way more involved than just a few more steps! 12-13 screws, 6-7 ribbon clips, lot of adhesive. The tear down videos almost convinced me that if I break my front glass, it might be better for me to just pay the $175 deductible and get a warranty replacement.

The edge and flat S6 are different sizes in every dimension. The edge is slightly shorter and narrower, but a bit thicker. So definitely buy the one for the model you have.
It'll take a lot to break the Gorilla 4 glass....our S6 is a BEAST! But then again, it is possible....this is why unless you're on carpet 24/7, get a case and a screen protector.
Simple, straight to the point, no BS with a lot of talking video on a hammer and knife test. You'll be proud.
Mind you....again....KEEP IN MIND.....a simple drop or a real world casual bump won't do anything to our S6 LOL....in the video you'll see the guy applying brute force, which isn't typically a real world scenario. I mean we're seeing the extreme times 100+ being done to our S6's....
This brings a lot of peace of mind.....the build quality is the best I've seen of any phone to date. Period.
However, it is glass and glass meeting pavement is not quite the best combo....it can break and it probably will if the phone drops from around 5 feet or more. It all depends...landing angle etc....
Nevertheless, it's wise and recommended to get a case and screen protector for the S6.
Kudos to Samsung!
I'm waiting for different colors to come out. I've seen an Iron Man mock up edge that someone did, looks beautiful.

Well, for me, I hate how Verizon goes out of its way to uglify its phones with branding, and the Galaxy S6 Edge has it the worst. If I can, I want to replace the backplate as a two fingers up to Verizon statement. Besides that, though, I'd just rather have the option of replacing them. I likely won't break them, but usually, these things are sold by Chinese companies overseas, and paying for shipping multiple times is almost just as expensive as having one or two more than you actually need.
Oh yeah, how about Black and Gold/Silver Back... hmmm

[Q] Samsung Clear View case scratched my screen

Hi all
I have a 2 week old S6 Edge which i fitted the Samsung Clear View case from day one (Phone was purchased from Carphonewarehouse on the 29th April). The screen is now full of scratches since and is bloody annoying the hell out of me. I have contacted Samsung UK and awaiting reply.
I strongly recommend avoiding this case at all costs. It is expensive and WILL scratch your screen no doubt about that. See attached photos
Anybody else experienced this???

The same thing happened to mine and my beautiful new S6 Edge looks dreadful. I'm gutted as I've had iPhones for years and never had any marks. Spoke to samsung UK and they were less than helpful saying as I hadn't purchased the cover from them I had to contact the supplier....who were brilliant and have issued me a refund and said I should contact samsung again........but I'm still left with a damaged screen. This product is not fit for purpose as, due to the hard front cover being in direct contact with the glass, when grit or dust get between it rubs around resulting in circular scratched patches all over the screen. The cover shows no marking at all....just the "unscratchable Gorilla glass"!!
I'm sure when this phone and case combination is used on the beaches during summer there will be some seriously upset people !! DO NOT BUY THIS COVER:crying:

Wow, I am totally shocked!
My S6 edge has more scratches than my S5 which I never really looked after so it seems like the glass isn't as scratch proof as previous generations, not helped by the fact of the issue of getting a decent screen protector.
Just came off the phone from Samsung UK and awaiting to speak to the manager. I have emailed them images of the screen with the Clear View cover.
I am just shocked that a £800 smartphone that claims to have the latest Gorilla Glass 4 is more prone to scratches than older generations. I had iphones, Galaxy S4, Note 3, HTC One M7 and still have the HTC One M8 and not a single one of these phones exhibited the same issues as this one.
I really hope Samsung come up with something
Its almost logicl: dirts gets in between...the flap sits close to the screen. When you hold the phone you squeeze the flap to the phone and rubs. Ofcourse you are going to get scratches. Conclusion: always put a screen protector...should be first thing you do.

Not logical at all.
I had many other phones with similar cases and none was fitted with a screen protector. All were pristine. My HTC One M8 with a similar case doesn't exhibit any of these issues. I think perhaps the screen on the S6 Edge (don't know if the non edge is experiencing the same issues) is rubbish and the Clear View case doesn't help at all and makes it worse.
Samsung UK have just rang me to let me know that they are now aware of this and passed it on to the head office (wherever that may be) to make a decision. The more of us calling them the better. They need to be aware of the grand scale of this.
here some interesting links. Make sure you read the comments below too:

I think having hard plastic instead of a fabric has probably amplified the issue but it does seem like the S6 edges screen is prone to scratching easier than other GG3/4 phones

No it isn't "LOGICAL". I have never needed screen protectors on any previous phones and I have had a variety of covers. I didn't realise this was a forum for clever arse comments!!??
AND, furthermore, Samsung UK are aware of this issue and are currently dealing with my problem as I am not the first person to bring it to their attention

Hi there. I have just been on the phone with Samsung for half an hour and they agree there is an issue and are aware of other cases so I guess the more people say something there may be chance we can have a reasonable outcome. I've been asked to send photographs and receipts so that's a start. Good luck
It's not just S6 Edge. My Clear View case has scratched my S6 although not as badly as in these images.
I would say there are several problems with the case. First like the previous poster said the lid is too hard. Second (at least for the S6 case) the lid has some room to move. The Dot view case I had for my HTC M8 was soft and more fixed so that it would not move against the screen. Third, and this one I'm not sure matter as much, the case seems to gather a lot of static electricity, thus attracting small particles.
As a comparison I have these phones
HTC M8 with dot view cover. After a year of usage the screen is completely flawless. I couldn't find the least mark on it
S4 Active used for 2 years without any case. Has some small hairline scratches that are not very disturbing
S6 used with Clear view cover. The first day it had bigger marks on the screen than my 2 year S4 active. I thought it was just really bad luck so I kept using the cover and now the screen has a lot more blemishes.
First of all thanks a million guys for the heads up, I was that close of getting one of these covers considering how nice looking and catchy it is, but to think it can do such scratches to the screen, I mean come one, what was that talk about Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and how hard it is to get broken let alone get scratched, I know we all saw a lot of drop-test videos official and non-official (some times they throw it face down on rocks and really pointy and hard surfaces) yet they some times get no scratches at all, so for this cover to do such damage, it's a shame really, and in my humble opinion it's not Logical at all for the cover to do such scratches, I read the headlines but couldn't believe it until I saw the pictures, I was shocked of it really, and I'm now more afraid than ever of dropping the phone, and a screen protector of any kind now is a must, for my old S5 I didn't have to worry about the screen at all, and I dropped it sometimes face down, but I have never dealt with such scratches knowing that I used the device for more than 6 months before I could buy a tempered glass screen protector.
not only the edge
normal S6 here..same issue..day after I got my clear cover scratches appared

Hi to all,
Wanted to ask if someone has this case.
https://www.punkcase.com/collection...water-shock-dirt-snow-proof-lifetime-warranty
I ordered it ( 26 July) and still waiting.
How it looks, and if its comfortable to use it daily at office
Thanks
This thing looks amazing, I would also be interested in what it is like in real life. Does anyone have one to give a review?

no problems typing. very slick. case double thickness of phone. front is thin film. sharp knock on phone by edge of the table will crack the screen. but brilliant piece of engineering. love it.
Hello, I just saw this. I've posted this in one of the other posts. This is my take on the Atomic 2.0::
Just received the Ghostek Atomic 2.0 Case. Even though Screen is not glass does not feel that back. No stickiness like plastic films. But for now just had it on for some hours so can't really say for long run yet.
It is a bit wider like a little over 1/4" more than the UAG case. Which adds to black borders on the front as seen on the pictures. So if you already had trouble using it with one hand, this would cause a bit more trouble.
The thickness is about the same as the UAG case when both are facing screen down.
This case advertises Waterproof but has 2 openings for the speaker grill on top and the home button on bottom. I would expect water could get in through those openings. Screen is dot matrix.
The look of the case for me is nice and does not make it look ugly in my perspective. As because the screen guard as they call it make it look like the screen is showing more than some cases that adds front black plastic borders on top and bottom.
The one thing is you might want to use wireless charging more due to having to open up ports more often if using a usb charger.
Here are some pictures I took. Sorry about quality. The best Camera I have is the GS7 edge. lol.
http://imgur.com/a/osNxm
Right now I'm using it with the TANAAB Screen protector.
I'll post more about it. But first reactions seems to be a good case but would depend on how you would see it and if the 1/4" width bigger than a UAG case would be a drawback or not.
It Seems that Ghostek send several out to Mobilefun or Uviyo in batches but haven't shipped through their main site.
Update:
Update about the openings mentioned above. The waterproof works and does not get inside case if there's nothing that raises the area where the openings are. I had the TANAAB TGSP that doesn't go full length of the phone let water in but when removed and tested no water went in. So waiting to test it with a similar TGSP like GPEL2 that fully extends the the phone and see how that works.
When With TANAAB. Sensitivity didn't change and could provide good protection if needed as the outside screen is just a thin plastic film.
Just wanted to point this out.

Sorry but I will have to asked you one more time.... Does this case have any problem with touch response? I mean is working perfectly and doesn't infect touch sensitivity?

Update:
As mentioned sensitivity wasn't a big problem or no problem I've seen.
But because its' a plastic screen I and because of my old TGSP didn't full extend to the end of the phone. I decided to get the Tzunami ProGlass from walmart. Installed it and put the case back on. Which should add extra protection on screen.
Even though responsiveness was good this seem to bump it up a bit more as it sticks more to the plastic and doesn't leave much. Plus you should not have a problem with it breaking as it just sits inside case.
Likely going to put the GPEL2 When I receive it but likely this might be my set up for my phone. The case looks nice and hope this is an improvement from their other cases.
UPDATE: Sensitivity issues as well from others with the ProGlass. So waiting on GPEL2.
2nd update of the case
I forgot to mention, this could be a pro or con depending if you use speaker a lot or not. I do listen at times but most of the times I use bluetooth headphones or speakers so no problem plus sound seems to be extended a bit more.
But the sound from the speaker is somewhat transferred and the back is used to transfer the sound out which would be why they use the type of material for the back. As if you see pictures of it the bottom you won't see a speaker cut out instead it's for the cord. So if you really depend on the sound from the speaker, the sound would be coming from the back of the phone instead of the side. You won't have to worry about covering it with your finger.
It does help when talking to someone on speaker phone, which is an advantage if you sometimes use the speaker phone when on calls at times. Seems to amplify it a bit more but comes from back for music. But haven't seen but haven't tested much on what music could get muffled out due to the way it is done.
Hope this answers or helps some that might wonder about it.
Uodate #2
Seems I forgot I still had the AT TGSP and for now no sensitivity issues at all and not like the Proglass has occurred. Will update if it does but for now this would be my combination of screen protector and case.

No it is not really necessary but as others mentioned this is plastic. But I feel that phone is safer if screen is protected by Tempered glass than films or plastic films. As there's no big lip on front and only thing protecting front the the plastic film I just rather be protected than not be.

Hello, Want to update on the case as you read my other post mentioning some openings on the home and earpiece, seems that was a faulty case as was missing films for the waterproofing that it supposed to protect.
Seems my first one was missing the films that go in the earpiece and home button so wasn't fully waterproof but had no sensitivity issues, the next one had high sensitivity issues on the top area where the first one didn't. Ghostek has been nice and quick in sending replacements and honoring their warranties. Right now I have the first one installed until I received the third case. As there is no sensitivity issues.
I did drop the phone from about 4.2 ft high with no damage. The phone fell front side. I do have a tempered Glass installed and no difference with or without on sensitivity. There does not seem to be any damage on the phone or case. The drop was accidental and kind of scary as well when it fell face front. Even though it was on a case. But glad I had the setup I had.
The only drawback I see is that with fingerprints I don't have a problem with the one with no films(1st case) but with the films on(2nd Case) the best way for it to read is putting your finger side ways. Which works all the time when you put your finger sideways but when upwards is a small chance that it would detect or not.
Just received mine today. Spotty fingerprint scanner, the screen has the little dots all over when you shine lights on it or are out in the sun, definitely a loss in touch sensitivity due to the front film not touching the screen unless you press down on it.
Hello friends, my question is, is that possible to call someone while using this case?

I've had no problems when I have good reception. The only times I have problems is when I have 1x when outside in small areas plus work truck kind of blocks signals.
But regular use with not problems on signal, I haven't had any complaints.

anyone have any experience with them or any tempered glass they'd recommend (especially one thats compatible with the ringke fusion)

Zaggs tempered glass revision 2 has been on the money. I've placed this thing on twice. Once when I got it and, the second time, I removed it from my old unit after a screen burn-in replacement, and place it onto my new unit. No air bubbles and the glass feels high quality, comparable to Whitestone sans the complex installation. It sits on the screen only slightly curving to the edge, and it does sit flush without interfering with the edge tab if I choose to use it. It is quite expensive ($50) but imho, it's quite worth it after successful installation. Highly recommend it!

While I agree with you that it goes on nicely you didn't mention that since it doesn't cover as much screen as other protectors and also has black side bars you get a weird effect where there's screen, black bar, rest of the screen which is quite annoying.

yes there are black borders around SP which the top and bottom part aligns with the phone borders, so no issues there. Depending on an individual's taste, the side borders may be of concern. However, I made no mention of any weird effects as a result from the blk borders and / or the edges not being fully covered because I haven't experienced any negative effects thru general use of the phone. I must also mention, that in some apps, i.e. flipboard the first letters of words that display close to the edge of the screen may be partially blocked by the SP borders. But for me that's not a problem, as i don't experience this issue with most of the apps I use on a daily basis.

No I agree with you, I just thought people should know in case they're looking to purchase it. Like you said, 50 dollars is a lot for a SP especially if you didn't know the bars did that and it bothered you. I'll be keeping mine on until something better comes along, if ever.

i have tried these, good product in terms of clarity and touch sensitivity. the issue i had was that the vertical edges would easily crack with a bit of pressure as they dont seat on the screen as well as they should.
my current solution for using these is to remove the adhesive backing and reapply with loca adhesiveand cure with uv light.

Tested these a month ago. Cracked two working out bubbles. Glass quality is very bad. One cracked on the right side. The other on the bottom using a fingernail to work out a bubble. No chance that this is good 9h tempered glass. Opened a dispute and got both refunded. My opinion, not recommended.
Not recommended too, to narrow, covering edges with black bars completely.

while applying it i got some dust stuck under the protector, tried to take it out but it wouldnt move
applied it anyway and its pretty good except for the air bubbles near the curved sides of the screen (and the dust particles)
the protector is really fragile too, it chipped and cracked a corner while working out the bubbles - others have complained that theirs cracked for no reason
other than that it actually feels amazing and is compatible with the ringke fusion
ive contacted support, hopefully theyll send me out a new one
I wonder why they disabled comments in their video?
What's the best between this one and Dome Glas ?
I don't like the cut around speaker - face camera ...
A real full cover for front face is the most beautiful but may be not very good for quality of face camera ???
