ROM Performance Comparison - Zuk Z1 General

Hey folks!
I know the ZUK Z1 is not such a popular phone as the One Plus One or any Xiaomi device, but still there are people like us, enthusiastic about the limits and capabilities of this device. I am starting this thread for people interested in customizing this phone and everyone else equally to compare the device on various aspects.
For comparisons I am going to need full co-operation from you guys. This is what I want to do -
Basing main comparison with various ROMs and kernels (so do mention your configuration).
Their GeekBench and Antutu Banchmark scores (using similar versions preferable, so post the version you will be using)
Their battery life, in the battery section we can get what are the main apps that are using up the battery and for how long are they using it, posting pictures of their usage statistics.
Along with these a brief note on how you, the user uses his or her phone.
As for me -
> All media is played without headphones, via device speaker, volumes mainly ranging from max to medium. Media was mainly Youtube videos, from qualities ranging from 240p - 1080p
> Two SIM cards are inserted and being used but almost all the time the phone is conected to Wi-Fi (almost, I did go out to get a few groceries from a neighborhood shop, max 10-15 mins disconnected and used mobile data)
> Phone mainly used for internet browsing, Skype calling for around an hour or more (again via device speaker), and texting via Skype a lot (it's preferred because it's a lot less crowded and people don't disturb you, please dont judge)
> Expanded Display is switched on and I'm using on-screen navigation bar
> Brightness is set to a bare minimum, brightness mode is always set to Outdoor Bright Sun with tempeartures for day - 8100K
> Developer Mode is switched on with Animations set to 0.5x
> Battery mode is set to Balanced always
> The above usage details is during the time I charged the phone to a 100% till it dropped to 1% (precisely)
> [ MOST IMPORTANT ] Benchmark scores are done after the phone is charged to full and not in-between daily use keeping the battery at balanced
My Configuration -
No custom ROM or kernel installed, non-rooted, updated latest till 01/07/2016 21:15 IST
Cyanogen OS version : 12.1-YOG4PAS9IG
Android version : 5.1.1
Kernel version : 3.4.0-cyanogenmod-g37a04c8 [email protected] #1
GeekBench 3 version : 3.4.1
Antutu Banchmark version : 6.1.4
My Results -
GeekBench 3 Score : Single-Core 971 & Multi-Core 3026
Antutu Benchmark Score : 63262
A personal note, I find the vibration intensity of the ZUK Z1 very low. If any ROM has the option of changing(increasing) the intensity I'll be more than happy to hear it and also if there is any other solution. Secondly I saw that in Settings>Data you cannot set data on any SIM that you want, it is only available in the first SIM, again if you guys can check that how to activate data on the second SIM (in any other ROM maybe), it'll be helpful.

Are the data settings same for Nuclear ROM ??

Yup

Also consider TurboRom for comparison, it's based on aosp, android 6.0.1 latest with tons of customisation yet being fully stable and fast.

Nuclear rom hav radio active kernel and it hav reboot issues, i get random reboots with tat kernel

Which has better battery life nuclear rom or resurrection remix?

Thanks all for your replies. I'm using HTC HD2 now. After change many many ROMs, I prefer stable & fast performance. So I'm stick with v2.3 Gingerbread. But now my phone not fit my need. In my country ZUK Z1 ~ 200$. That my target.
Thanks useful topic.
XDA never allow post compare like this before. New rules?

Screenshots in this way (in main post) aren't playing any role, either attach them please or use spoiler, no snapshot is fully visible on my laptop's 15.6" screen, I just had to keep scrolling down in order to reach to the comments.

You can flash zui 2.5.330 or 2.5.115 and flash any Rom above it like dirty unicorns or resurrection remix or nuclearom whose size is close to 300 mb .I too had the same problem I flashed zui 2.5.330 and then flashed dirty unicorn 10.5 and it worked I use LTE as well as 3g in SIM 1 and SIM 2 and then can change which data SIM to use.

Hope it can be made for our I-9192 also. BTW i m going through your ROM repository in Mediafire, seen a C-ROM named folder dated 23/06/ 2014 for I 9192 with no files inside. Can u provide me the link of it? It is one of best ROM for 9192. Thanks in advance.:good:
I couldn't get it working. BTW, spirit has dual sim support, so you can ask sekil or k2wl to port it.
Or let me know the patches that are required.
Here are my initial impressions on this ROM. Clean flashed via TWRP. No gapps. Quick first boot . UI is extremely fluid. Network is great and battery life is decent.
This is the best aosp rom for gaming. I set CPU [email protected] 1.026GHz and GPU @ 320MHz.
Speaking of the features of this ROM I use "active display" and "Dark UI" a lot. They are working fine here.
Did not test any other features but I am sure they work.
I debloated the ROM before flashing.
Also stability is great. So far no force closes and crashes. Also I do not notice any call drops or missed messages. Everything works fine.
THIS ROM CAN BE USED AS DAILY DRIVER.
Thank you @Silesh.Nair
I agree with the previous opinion, the firmware is stable and recommended for everyday use.
The device is fully functional, otherwise it can not be, because it's CM11-based firmware.
Thank you very much to the author for additional customization.
PS
Without any performance settings and third-party kernels per night (from 23.00 to 7.00), the battery is discharged at 0.2% per hour. Wi-Fi, mobile data was disabled.

At the moment, I have no way to test the device with connected wi-fi and mobile data. Such an opportunity came only a few days.
Meanwhile, not to be unfounded, here is a screenshot Battery consumption per night - the result is obvious.
PS
I have very little of any third-party applications on the device, I do not use (with rare exceptions Viber) program chats, and other mail.

Initial release so expect some bugs
sreenshoot Plz thanks
Thank You so much. I was waiting for this to happen. Will try this soon. Hope this is as fast as your LOS 11. Thanks again.
So I've been using this ROM since last some hours and if you are reading this thread to decide whether to flash the ROM or not. I would say this is a must try for I9300.
It is the fastest and smoothest Nougat ROM so far.
Found some minor bugs
1. Back button sometimes directly closes the app instead of going to last screen in app.
2. Speaker volume doesn't decrease when in call (don't know if I'm the only one)
The last one is I think a feature as I was facing this in your LOS 11 too that the minimum screen brightness is too low.
So can you please add an option to enable or disable that ultra low brightness mod. I don't actually like to play much with that brightness bar I normally keep it at lowest but with this ROM I have to change it manually many times an hour and auto brightness takes more battery.
Thank you for this smooth ROM.
Cheers.

What a great ROM, the old S3 runs like hell, one of the fastest ROMS I ever had on my Phone, very battery friendly too. Thank you very much.
Hello,
I can't get the password or pin working. I use a pin that is more than 4 characters. When I test it out on the lockscreen itself, I'm locked out and it won't recognize the correct characters. Is this a bug or what?
Looking to confirm with everybody else..
I've been using this rom for more then 1 day and it really is fluid and fast , unlike some other roms when in few hours everything starts to slow down and gets a bit lagy ..well here that is not the case at least for now.
Really awesome rom but since mainteiner is rpdroky I'm not surprised why this rom flys

I just flashed joojoobee666 's custom kernel for LOS 14.1 and it works as expected
This is cool! However, I'm having a slight issue with my sound. It doesn't really work (esp. While playing music) on my droid 4 with crdroid, like it just won't play sounds unless they've been "playing" for a while. Lineage and music work fine together though... Anyone else having a similar problem?

I've had no audio issues on my phone so far, even bluetooth audio seems to work just fine. Try to toggle the AudioFX setting to see if it has something to do. If the problem persists you may want to use an alternative music player.

excellent ROM! :good:
Built-in signature spoofing makes it pretty easy to use microG instead of gapps
seems more fluent compared to Mokee 6.0.1 (which is the best Marshmallow ROM for the Droid 4 in my opinion)
No issues so far.

FYI, I installed latest crDroid in a newly created rom-slot1 in order to test Wifi, and it works fine. So today I dirty flashed the upgrade into my everyday installation (stock slot), performed a dalvik wipe, and guess what... perfectly working Wifi
There was a tiny issue in previous version in which the list of available wlans didn't show up, but luckily it seems to be fixed by now.
Thanks a lot, and keep the great work! :good:
yeah, wifi isn't working, running the latest maserati. it works on 3.8.2., but i can't get it to turn on with 3.8.4. doesn't matter if 3.8.4 is flashed after 3.8.2. + boot or cleanly.
Apparently I'm lucky to have wifi working on my maserati. My only suggestion at this point is to allow 10-15 seconds for the OS to notice the network chip is on, and using directly Settings > Wifi (instead of quick settings menu). The icon toggle and the scan results might actually be a little laggy, although connection establishes succesfully in the background.
If there is something I can do to help you guys, please let me know.
yeah, i've messed with it around for close to 6 hours, flashing in various ways or just trying to let it do its thing. your post made me kinda paranoid that it was just a peculiar combination of settings messing up, but in the end i couldn't get around downgrading. i've tried various dev options, wifi certificates and frequencies, with or without data or airplane mode, and generally every setting vaguely related to connectivity, even the ui ones, but ultimately there's no change in wifi simply not turning on (reminiscent of missing wifi drivers in replicant builds or similar roms actually), whereas it works perfectly on 3.8.2.
hello on the 3.8.4 import contact from sim card doesn't work
Hi, just saw you've released a new build for Spyder. Will we see an update for Maserati, too?

Wow! Been using this ROM on my Nexus 5, years ago. Very nice!
I remember using this on my old Sony devices.
A new ROM is always welcome. I used it well on my N4.
Can I flash on a custom rom? Or I have to go back to the official and flash the rom

Should work, but it's recommended to flash stock first. But you can do that in one flash. So when you're in TWRP, flash the stock zip, and flash Carbon right afterwards without a reboot or anything.

We do not actively workaround SafetyNet due to various reasons. LineageOS has a well written explanation here.
If you want SafetyNet I recommend checking out solutions like Magisk or various custom kernels with "SafetyNet patches".
I can confirm Safetynet passing when you use MagiskHide Props config module:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-magiskhide-props-config-t3789228
You gotta change the fingerprint with props -f command
I installed this ROM today, first I tried LineageOs bit I got force close message with opengapps. With this ROM everything is fine and I just setup everything with no problems or glitches as of yet. So it looks great to me. Wil report back later
Everything is great so far. The stand by drain is also good 4% overnight.
One issue is that Network Traffic Indicator is not working, it's there but display 0.00kb/s
It would be great if the rom allow display calibration like DCI-P3 and vibration motor adjustment

2 AOD is available but charging AOD is not
3 No (one ringtone only)

Thank you
I have been using it now for a couple of days. A few things I have noticed:
- The Mobile/data icon constantly keeps switching between LTE/LTE+. I tried changing the icon to 4G but then it keeps flipping between 4G/4G+. Also the signal icon is never full. For example in my room on the top floor I always had full signal bar with OOS
- Battery drain seems to go a little faster then OOS, any tips to improve this?
- I tried paying with my phone/bank app/nfc chip at local supermarket and it did not work.. It worked on OOS/magisk/usb debug disabled..
Is there a change to get OOS camera or anyone have a good working google camera app?

LTE+ and LTE are different modes. LTE+ means "LTE Advanced" which allows for carrier aggregation (see Wikipedia). I believe OxygenOS is not showing the + by default (Android allows to configure that internally). As for stength, it might be worth checking the actual db values as theres a few carrier know for cheating at the shown signal strength. Those cheats are "disabled" in AOSP.
Battery: So far reports all deliver an improvement or even experience with Oxygen. It might take a few cycles to "settle in".
Paying: The miracles of SafetyNet. I'm not familiar with the whole Google Pay stuff so I can't help you there unfortunately.
There are a few OxygenOS camera APKs you can install that work fine. Also all @Arnova8G2 GCam builds are fine.
I knew LTE/LTE+ are 2 different modes. But your story doenst explain why it keeps flipping from LTE to LTE+. Everywhere I am, walking trough the city, in the park, near the train station or at home it keeps switching from LTE to LTE+. Every 2 to about 10 seconds or so. This results in constantly moving icons in the top status bar which is pretty annoying. Also it doesn't make sense it would switch between the different modes so much right?
How do I check the db values and what are db values?
I've been using the first Pax build (STABLE) and just updated! Great battery! (I swapped kernel cause ViPER4Android)
There was a conflict with ViPER BT (not processing after about 5 seconds) however, kernel in 5/6 may yield stable results, we'll def find out.
kernel adjusting automatically. very stable; low load avg.
Spectacular CarbonROM, Thanks Myself5 I'll continue with the included kernel for a Carbon experience!
Amazing ROM, first time user and loving it. Thanks for such a hard work!
I'm using with MinMicroG and works like perfect, amazing battery life.
Would like to know some issue, in settings, Spoof package signature is available but I can't see, for playstore/fakestore! Why is that?
i want to try this rom. can anyone give me correct steps for installing...would be much help.??
usb file transer not working for me thanks for the rom

ok
flashed since 2 days with omnitrix and it works well. Sometimes or rarely, i have little freeze and lags but doesn't make the device unusable.
Basic customizations but essential to personalize a little the device.
I flash pixel launcher mods to have D2TS on launcher.
I will try new sushi launcher port soon.
Rom is smooth and BB is good. Charging is speed.
The rom is all i want.
Better with no lags or no freeze.
I tried logcat but each time i do it, no lags and no freeze
What version of OmniTrix are you using? I just tried this version that they shared in the telegram group and it works much better.
does this rom offer the free full resolution google photos backup (like pixel os)?

Because it has been removed temporarily
What are the installation instructions for coming from A12?
Been using version 5.2 since a little bit before 5.4 came out. Overall had no problems except bluetooth compatibility. I've been using my Sony WF-1000XM4 since a year ago with no problem on Pixel OS with the LDAC playback quality set to "Optimized for Audio Quality" through the Headphones app but for some reason in Pixel Extended I have to go through developer options every time and set it through that setting while also experiencing some heavy delays/cuts
Edit: Also for some reason I can't for the life of me find applock
I've been having some seriously bad issues with battery draining roughly 80-85% overnight on the 5.2 version.. that's about 8-9 hours from the time I go to bed until I wake up! I fully charge it before I go to sleep in case of an emergency or event that requires me to leave unexpectedly in the middle of the night. The culprit is Android system... I don't have any specific details, aside from what checking battery usage is through settings.. I'm not sure why this problem has just begun over a period of about a week... I've been using this ROM for about 3 weeks without any issues at all ! Battery life has been phenomenal until about 4 to 5 days ago ! I noticed a new version of the ROM on sourceforge, version 5.4 ? Does this update address the issues with Android system eating up the battery at */- 80% over an 8 -10 hour period of non use.. again, I charge it fully before I go to sleep and clear all the apps from memory every night before I go to sleep... This is almost like a ritual for me... Kind of like an OCD thing I do nightly.. any input would be great! I'll try and get a log cat for you the next time this occurs.. BTW, are there any apps that you would prefer a log from? Best wishes, I'm not *****in' , but merely trying to bring awareness.. I love this ROM and would hate to be forced to use any other.. The 5.4 version has addressed the battery issues! Thank you!

I've been on 5.5 for a few days and it's smokin'fast and smooth! Thank you for the quick updates! Send like the battery life is far better. I do have one concern that probably has nothing to do with this ROM, but it did appear in the playstore after having upgraded to the 5.5 version. From what I've read it seems this has been there all along as a part of all Android software. I've read several reviews and naturally there are so many trolls that made reviews that I don't know who to trust. I've attached a screenshot from the updates section. I will not update until I know that it's "truly safe" to do so. If it's not, I'll uninstall the darn thing. All of this aside, I would like to thank you for this great ROM and the super fast updates! Your work is greatly appreciated by myself and probably most other folks using it as well.

best rom i have used so far .
I used 5.4 until yesterday, the battery holds up well, so far I haven't found any complaints.
Did the OTA update to 5.5 in a few minutes this morning. This is my first rom with which I managed to do this without any problems.
If 5.5 will be better than 5.4, I'm the happiest man in the world
