Edge feed - T-Mobile Note 7 Questions & Answers

It's not showin up for me. It's enabled, but i don't see it. Screen off, swipe top to bottom on the left edge, nothing happens.
Suggestions?

Oh, I figured it out, you have to swipe down then up quickly.

So I was rubbing the edge of my screen protector and the feed popped up a few times. I can't figure out what gesture I need to do but it works sometimes.

Swipe the left edge, from top to bottom and back up, sort of quickly.

Doesn't matter which edge, but yah just swipe top to bottom and back up rq. Only needs to be like 1/4 inch in spacing between movements.

Capacitive button hit area

This is not an issue of sensitivity but does any one else think the hit area for the back and home buttons to be really small.
Sometimes I find myself swiping around the area just to make sure I hit them.
As an aside is there a way to keep the capacitive buttons lit while the screen is on. I think this would help me deal with the issue.

I'm with you on that one. Many times I have to tap around that area a few times before I actually get it to register.

HTC Speak

I'm not sure what all this app does. I believed it was for voice dial and the car dock. I'm on ViperOne ROM and I have the car dock uninstalled through the ROM installer.
So, today it just popped up when I picked it up. I was at work and I hit the back button and it was gone. I've never seen that screen before, I can't duplicate what it did, and it wasn't in my recents.
Anyway I'm not worried about it just curious.

Does it occur when swiping top down when the screen is off?

Yes it activates when swiping down.
But what I saw yesterday was not that it just looked simple and def not a Google thing.
I'm just wondering WTF was that lol

Well I think the HTC speak is the one when swiping top to bottom when the screen is off to wake up and do certain commands idk why they have it though seems kinda useless to me

Actually I think it's ok. It works that's always a plus.
Still wish I could duplicate what I did.
Another thing that I just remembered that I discovered. Was using my boss's radio at work and hooked up my m8. Radio had an elastic thing to hold an mp3 player. As soon as the phone saw the elastic, it went into dot matrix mode lol. Kinda funny.

Nexus 6 screen wake issue

Hey guys,
I did a search but haven't found any specific reference to this problem so hopefully someone can help.
I've noticed when I'm finishing a call on my nexus 6 and I take it away from my face, the screen doesn't turn back on and it won't respond to the hardware buttons. I have to wait till the other person hangs up before my screen comes back on. Its intermittent but it's really annoying. Anyone else noticed this problem?

Are u using any screen protector? it might cause some issue, u might need to cut off the part that covers the ambient sensor
Hey, I am using a screen protector, the toughened glass ones but I've disabled the ambient mode anyway. The sensor itself is unhindered and it'll work sometimes but it's just failing too often and it's getting really annoying.

Is the protector I bet
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Yeah mine is doing this too. It's annoying as hell. Does anyone have suggestions and how to cut off that part of the screen protector safely to expose the sensors?
It's possible indeed. Gonna order another protector before I peel this off and test. Positioning them on the Nexus 6 is a bit of a pain with the rounded edges on the glass.

Screen crack under top layer of screen

Is the underlayer screen under warranty or would it be considered own fault ? The top layer screen is in perfect condition. My gf has the phone in her back pocket as usual. Sets on a couch and it's cracked all the way from top right to bottom left .. she weighs 120 pounds if that.

Always on Display

I have noticed the Note 7 always on is WAYYY brighter than the S7 Edge always on.
Anyway to change that?
What about screen burn in, do we think there will be a problem?
I had the same question. I don't want to turn it off but it's really bright.
Sent from my SM-N930T using Tapatalk
Same here way too bright. I turned it off until there is a fix. Wish we could adjust it to personal preferences.
there's a 70mb international patch that samsung has released with a few bug fixes and improvements. the screen brightness might be part of the improvements. wont know til tmobile decides to push the patch to us. but as far as burn in goes i wouldnt worry about that. if you notice the always on screen moves position up and down your screen. this prevents burn in.

Unless you're using a S View cover, mine doesn't move (not that I've noticed anyway) ... Was a little concerned myself. I have an LG OLED display, the 65" EF9500, I know it's not as prone to burn in as compared to plasma, but the TV will run a screen clean cycle when powered down after every 10 hours of use, or there about... Not sure if the Note does anything behind the scenes to prevent or deal with possible IR ..

Mine DOES NOT move either.
Also there was an update today in the Galaxy Apps for the always on display. From what I can tell not much of a change
I believe the movement is 1 pixel every 10 minutes, random jump every 60 minutes. Is that not the case anymore?

it does move. and you're probably right about the time of the movement. the ppl that dont see it move are probably expecting it to move within 30s of them looking at it. it takes some time for it to move. over the past 2 hours mine was at the bottom of my screen it is now in the middle of my screen.

No you won't face an issue with screen burn in! That's an lcd screen issue with the pixels! You won't see that issue on your QHD display!

Just received the always on display update... FYI

Lol wut? You got that backward. AMOLED *DOES* get burn in. LCD only occasionally suffers from image retention but that's temporary.

Update definitely fix this issue with Pinning S Note to lock screen
