Fork of TWRP:
This UNOFFICIAL TWRP recovery is built for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Snapdragon variants in EmotionOS/LineageOS Android 7.1.1 Nougat tree with correct device-specific SELinux policy. It fixed some warnings/errors and differs from the OFFICIAL TWRP in the following ways:
Designed to be built with LineageOS 14.1 only
Customize the mksh prompt and environment by editing mksh/mkshrc
Require fstab v2 syntax
Use external repositories for pigz, exfat, fuse
Power key toggles screen on/off
SuperSU and HTC Dumlock have been removed
Other customizations (see change history)
You can get the OFFICIAL TWRP recovery for Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910V) from here. Other devices can find their variants in the device-specific forums.

Versioning:
To help distinguish builds of recovery made from this fork, the minor version digit is replaced with N#. Minor version increments will be handled as needed, independent of TWRP. The major and semi-major version digits follow upstream to roughly indicate feature parity (as close as possible with a fork, anyways).

Is this twrp required or recommended for your Emo-14.1 builds?

I've found a little bug.
When flashing (there were 3 files added to flash) I turned off the screen using the power button.
After that pressing back the power button vibrated but remained with the screen off, touching the screen had the same effect.
I just waited and turned the phone off.
Next time I flashed the same things without press the power button to turn off the screen and worked fine, even though the screen went off automatically.

Curious about this myself.. and will it affect going back to other ROMs?

how is this different from the TWRP 3.0.2 I am running now on my device? or is this ONLY to flash nougat ROMS?

Delete

TWRP themes dont seem to work with this.

so how exactly would you flash the tar?

.tar files are flashed in Odin. You can download the.img custom recovery and flash it in official TWRPapp from the link above

Did anyone find the answer to the question whether this had to be used, or just recommended? Also can you use that same recovery to flash other roms?

Well I can confirm official twrp still works for 2/5 and 2/13 ROMs.

Every time I try to install emotionrom it never recognizes my sim, so I'm not sure if it's because I'm not using the right twrp.

Hi, does this comment "* Require fstab v2 syntax" mean we may have issues flashing Roms that are not LineageOS or EmotionOS? (ie touchwiz)

Same questions here

Stuck in a bootloop on 910T...can't even boot into system.

TWRP issue on 910F
I've hit a bug with VERSION twrp-3.0.N1-20170205-UNOFFICIAL-trltexx.tar. Every time I flush with this recovery i get an encryption failed error. I've had to revert back to twrp-3.0.2-0-treltexx in order to flush my ROMs. Hope this helps someone out there.

I successfully loaded LineageOS 14.1 (Android 7.1.1) using a standard TWRP build (found on their Devices page) - I never knew about this build.

OpenGapps choose ARM>7.1>micro/nano/pico (micro might still be too big... unless you use the custom install options that allows you not to install everything from the package)
Either way, you might want to further customize your installation (both gapps and system apps), refer to this tutorial
REMEMBER:
ONLY use TWRP 3.0.2-1 or up
/!\ Before installing, read post #3. /!\
HOW TO INSTALL
Requirements: Unlocked Bootloader, a Nougat compatible Custom Recovery and the Downloaded Zips.
NB: as with CM14.1, with a Lollipop compatible recovery like TWRP 3.0.2-0, you will get stuck to recovery, It is MANDATORY to update to 3.0.2-1.; the following error is still present : E:unknown command [log] but will not prevent install.
Place the rom and other like Gapps on the internal Storage or on a USB OTG
Reboot to recovery using the hotkey ( PowerOff+Vol- => With Vol- Go to Recovery => Select the recovery option with Vol+ )
Do Wipes (Data, Cache, Dalvik and System partitions) if you are in a different ROM.
Select the Zips
Swipe to install (if using TWRP)
Reboot and wait 2-3 min
HOW TO DIRTY UPDATE
Same as above, without the need of wiping of reflashing gapps.
HOW TO COME FROM CM13/14?
The Best practice way is to follow the clean install way.
BUT it is also possible to update from CM13/14 using an EXPERIMENTAL data migration build.
Here are the Official recommendations :
This build will allow you to ‘upgrade’ from CM to the signed LineageOS weekly
This build may wipe permissions (you’ll have to re-allow app permissions), but should retain all user data
This build will be watermarked with an ugly banner to ensure that you don’t permanently run this EXPERIMENTAL release, and upgrade to a normal weekly after.
The process for this installation will be as follows:
Install EXPERIMENTAL migration build on top of cm-13.0 or cm-14.1 build (don’t try to install LineageOS 13.0 on top of CM 14.1, that will not work).
Reboot
Install LineageOS weekly build
Reboot
Re-setup your application permissions
Given the EXPERIMENTAL nature of this process, we are going to remove this option in two months time.

As Always, DO A TWRP BACKUP before trashing your device!
Notes, Bugs, and miscellaneous.
Tips and notes:
When choosing a Gapps package ensure it can fit into /system when flashed.
Nano gapps package is recommended as it fits and provides everything in a base package you will need for gapps support. Then, you can install the other google apps from the store later on if needed.
Remember nightly builds are experimental: they can and will be broken from time to time. Always have a backup at hand.
To transfer files from/to PC when plugged in you will get the charging mode prompt status in the status bar, then click it to change from charging mode to transfer files.
Considering the quite low amount of Falcon users left over here, I'm not sure about making a full-sized FAQ;
For now, the following will take that purpose:

Basically, what worked on CM14.1 works on Lineage on this device, I didn't thoroughly tested it, but I didn't encounter much regressions after the migration (I performed the "Experimental" migration, to be in worse case scenario)
long live my (g)old device
ROM installed, so far so good, device performs as good as a brand new kick ass phone.
Keep up the good work!
Clean installed, seems to be good...

Hi Guys,
So I recently got my hands on the A7 and was happy to see Lineage OS is available for the phone.
Managed to flash the ROM over the weekend, I must say it is running really well. very smooth! No issues to report as a daily driver.
But I did run into some issues with superuser but managed to resolve. My only other problem is TWRP, for some reason if I boot into recovery I can't get back into the ROM, I am stuck in bootloop recovery. The only way to fix is to reflash TRWP using ODIN over and over again, hopefully someone can shed some light on this matter.
Anyway, looking forward to future updates and hopefully LineageOS 14...

Been using the previous version as a daily driver already.
So I would say, yes.
Very nice ROM for our device.
Is the Bluetooth voice call issue fixed?.
Edit _> confirmed fixed !. Awesome Kyasu, thanks.
Dirty Flashing from 14.1 did not work for me. Device boots completely but hangs after 20s of usage. Maybe there is an incompatible app, thats making my device crash. I'll try it from scratch in some days again. But thank you for all your work!
This will be my daily driver from today on. Thanks so much kyasu! Switching on and off Bluetooth and WiFi seems to interfere somehow, but everything else seems to work fine for the moment!
Did you consider posting a donation link @kyasu ?
Thanks for the continuing support for the S4!
Somehow the recommended gapps (as of 12.02.18) don't work for me. Instead i used the more recent one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/arm-unofficial-opengapps-builds-android-t3743495
I hope i can help someone. BTW: klick on download anyway if it shows an error messege on the download-page.
Can't wait for a stable version of this amazing rom!

The ROM in it's current condition is already very stable.
Been using it since the first release and no stability issues for me.
Big bug for me. If you set screen lock as pattern or pin you can't unlock phone because SystemUI crashes so I can't add Credit Card to Android Pay.
EDIT: OK work but there is some delay. If the process interrupted you don't able to unlock screen. To fix this you must Reboot to Recovery and go to Advanced-->File Manager. Navigate to /data/system and delete all locksettings databases.

Camera LED doesn't work too.

Pin works fine here. Also led flash is working fine for me with footej camera app. Switching flight mode off from power menu does not work, but there is also the quick settings tile for this, so nothing to worry about. This is very stable and some features work even better than with los14.1 (torch tile, switching cameras delay...).
One more thing: Switching selinux to enforcing works also for me, so no problem using Netflix and other apps, which depend on this.

This is an unofficial LineageOS 15.1 build for the international Galaxy S4 LTE-A (GT-I9506).
The korean Galaxy S4 LTE-A (SHV-E330S/K/L) is NOT tested by the developer and it may have some issues such as wakeup delay.

I don't think the wakeup delay problem is specific to the Korean version. I'm experiencing this bug on an international Galaxy S4 LTE-A. On stock the keys light up right away and the screen immediately after. On your roms the keys light up immediately, but the screen takes about a second to wake up.
Thanks for all your work, nonetheless. This is a great ROM, thanks for keeping ks01lte alive.

When I try to set pin settings froze. I rebooted phone and tried to unlock, but it's relocking continously. You only set PIN from settings and it worked?

Yes I did nothing special. I just changed to a pattern, unlocked once and changed back to my pin. No problems whatsoever.
I have the wakeup delay too with the international version, but I am already used to it since 14.1

Do you use ext4 or f2fs on data partition? Maybe I have this bug because I use f2fs and Magisk.

I use f2fs for data and cache partition. I would just clean flash again. Which gapps did you use? I used this (pico version): https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/arm-unofficial-opengapps-builds-android-t3743495

Setting screen lock works, but it takes longer than normal.

[Rom][UNOFFICIAL]Lineage-15.1[SM-T217S]

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8.1 (Oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
/*
* Your warranty is now void. Knox 0x1.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
*/
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
WARNING:
If you find any bugs, bring a logcat. Logs are helpful....
If your problem cannot be reproduced without using Root modules or Xposed, don't report it! The same goes with custom kernels.

Prerequisites:
The latest version of TWRP. This is an absolute requirement.
Your device (it better be a Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 (Sprint)).
How to flash this ROM:

From other custom ROMs (this assumes you already unlocked your bootloader a long time ago):
Download the zip file for your device (link is below).
Reboot into TWRP (Volume Up + Home + Power or Advanced Restart).
Make a backup (optional).
Perform a factory reset (Wipe > Swipe to Factory Reset).
Flash the ROM you just downloaded.
Flash OpenGApps for Android 8.1 if you want Google services (optional).
If you want root, flash Magisk or SuperSU
Reboot and proceed normally with installation.

Thank you for cooking this ROM and interest in making the camera work. I know you use it as WiFi tablet only. I still can't get Sprint data working as was the case with earlier serranoltexx-based builds.
Looking forward to any updates you may provide. Best wishes...

Can you take some logs when you insert your sim, and try to toggle data?

I'm guessing a kernel for Lineage OS 15.1 wouldn't work with Lineage OS 14.1 ? I'm not ready to make the leap onto Oreo yet, but I'll be damned if I can find a good, non-stock kernel for LOS 14.1 on my SM-T217S. I've tried repeatedly to compile my own from all the sources that are readily available, but the OS just hangs saying that Lineage OS is starting... and that's just the stock source with the specific commits for this device. I can't figure out if it's the toolchain I'm using or what.
Thanks for the time and effort that you've put into this, though. Having begun to try to do this kind of thing myself has really given me a new appreciation for the work that you and other XDA members do. Hopefully one day I'll be compiling my own ROM builds for y'all too.

Kernel source compiles based upon device. The kernel from 14.1 or 15.1 should be interchangeable. If the ROM boots to the initial screen then its probably not a kernel issues but another issue why it won't boot. You have to take a adb log and look at the output to determine why its hanging.

With SIM inserted I see a persistent notification atop the notification panel that says No SIM card - No service. When I remove and re-insert the SIM, the message remains. Because of this I am unable to toggle cellular data on and off using the status bar Mobile data switch or in Settings-Mobile Network. All items are greyed out under Settings-Mobile Network. When I access the "Testing" menu by dialing *#*#4636#*#* and then select Tablet Info I am unable to Enable Data Connection. I recall that after the first boot after flashing your ROM the Cellular setup wizard never started even after removing and reinserting the SIM card. I don't think this is relevant but I did not flash any GAPPS package. I did flash the file 2016.02.08 Freedompop_APNs_fix.zip which I obtained from a different thread and has worked on other ROMs. My SIM is for FreedomPop which uses the Sprint data network. I did collect logcat and Bug Report files to share with you if you think they may help. Let me know if I may provide any additional information. Thanks!

It might work if you flashed a custom kernel but the blobs are slightly different so idk the answer. It would be up to you, I can't provide support as I don't have that device.

So I been looking at the radio files I used. I am thinking they would work. But they were made for a different device but do work with serranotexx which I assumed would be work with this device. Obviously I believe this is the issue, I will try to do a rebuild semi soon to see if I can sort that out. The hardware is slightly different between the s4 and this.
