Hi Guys,
So I recently got my hands on the A7 and was happy to see Lineage OS is available for the phone.
Managed to flash the ROM over the weekend, I must say it is running really well. very smooth! No issues to report as a daily driver.
But I did run into some issues with superuser but managed to resolve. My only other problem is TWRP, for some reason if I boot into recovery I can't get back into the ROM, I am stuck in bootloop recovery. The only way to fix is to reflash TRWP using ODIN over and over again, hopefully someone can shed some light on this matter.
Anyway, looking forward to future updates and hopefully LineageOS 14...

You use TWRP v3.0.2.0 (Build 4) from link from first post in thread? With this version there were no problems.

Recovery error
Thank you for opening this new thread.
Since CM12, I get a recovery error on every OTA update, saying
Installing zip file '/cache/recovery/block.map'

Done processing script file
Yet, there is no problem to flash the zip manually. Any ideas?
audio problem
Installed CM12 and one noticeable bug is with the audio output. The audio output is very poor and is with cracking voices. Please help
What happened to CM11?
Updated to newest build and my phone is running CM12 now instead of CM11.
Is there any way to get CM11 back?
Didn't you do a backup before updating? On the CM website it says clearly:
Once on CM12 nightlies, you cannot downgrade back to CM11 without wiping – if you are thinking of just exploring the release, then take a backup of your existing installation if you want to go back to it.
I still get TWRP error on every update saying"zip file is corrupt". Can anyone explain me? Never had this on CM11 and I didn't change my recovery (v 2.8.1.0)
Not much traffic here. Does no one have the same TWRP update problem?
Just read this on TeamWin homepage in changelog for V2.8.5.0:
-Fix handling of mapped zip files for OTA updates (CM12 updater).
Might be this ?

No more update problems since update on TWRP 2.8.5. Thanks to u-ra!

Hi. I use it, there are some bugs but everything works. You can google Cm 12 changelog ?
Camera is alright?
// I see that camera is OK.
It's nice to see cm12 on this device. The google version of lollipop looks better than the sense lollipop (saw it on M8) in my opinion.
Any way to increase battery life? Kernel or some settings?

CM12
I had great troubles with the ROM after upgrading from CM11 to CM12.
In that case, just be sure to wipe all data and everything should work just fine!
Using the Balanced or Power Saving profile the battery life is just fine. The camera is acceptable.
After a couple of hours of USING (more applications at a time) the device tends to get a little bit laggy. Sometimes I need to do a Soft Reboot to go back to normal. Anyway, the nightlies are getting better and better with every build. Keep up the good work!
I have installed this on my girlfriends Mini 2 and she's loving the upgrade to lollipop, I'm having one problem though, trying to install Viper4Android as the beats audio for the device isn't available any more obviously. The app install isn't going to be a problem, my problem is that I don't seem to have root access, I tried flashing SuperSU but it doesn't seem to be working. Have I missed something?
EDIT: Wish I could delete this, fixed it. feel very silly. flashed latest su.zip from chainfire

ROOT and BOOTLOADER unlock required following the linked guides.
Flash THIS custom TWRP recovery with SELinux capabilities.
Download latest ALPHA from http://downloads.codefi.re/jrior001/cm/espressovzw.
Locate 5.1 Gapps via a quick Google search.
Wipe factory/data reset in recovery before installing CM12.1 (unless you are already on a CM12.1 build).
Reboot into recovery and install ROM and gapps.
Known Issues:
LTE radio - Acts up at times requiring a reboot. Causes wakelocks
GPS sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Reboot usually fixes it.
CAMERA - 720p recording fails, all other resolutions work well
USB wakelocks after removing USB cable, "USB Connected" pop-up doesn't go away.
OTG/keyboard dock doesn't work at all
Overall device is smooth and stable minus the above listed issues. I will continue to work on these but wanted to get some feedback on this so far as well. I'm open to assistance if anybody else has one of these and some talent and wants to help.
Huge thanks:

I'm not as experienced as some others so this took 3 attempts I think...in between 3-4 month breaks to get the 3.4 kernel booting but I finally got it.
I've got GPS fixed and I'm close on USB. Its proper in windows I think but Linux connectivity is still giving me issues. I'll try to get a new build up in a few days with all that.
I my self am on linux. I use elementray os.
2/28 build is up now, GPS and USB should be proper. OTG/dock still not working but not a major concern for now.

I don't either. Or I would.
I can confirm that data is working. Thank you for breathing new life in this tablet
Edit. Had running for a full day and data works most of the time. A soft reboot fixes it though

If you wouldn't mind I'd like to see the logs when it craps out. I still have some hacks in place for debugging. When it acts up, reboot to recovery and grab the following:
/data/data/logcat.txt
/data/data/kmsg.text
/data/data/radio.txt
Oh and there is a newer recovery build and an updated build at the download link.
I'm dropping the "ALPHA" label at this point. Everything that should be working seems to be in order at this point and the builds are more than reasonably stable. I just uploaded a fresh build w/f2fs support on /data and /cache if anybody is interested in using that. Changing /data to f2fs will require a FULL factory reset and SDCARD wipe as sdcard is emulated on /data/media so be prepared to lose EVERYTHING. TWRP 2.8.5 is required if you wish to reformat anything as f2fs. Both are available at my codefire download link in the OP.
A few minor annoyances remain:
Charging is painfully slow.
USB OTG doesn't work at all.
Plugging USB to PC tends to create some nasty wakelocks.
LTE data is glitchy.
Keyboard dock support hasn't been brought in.

Hey I was wondering how you got the 3.18.XX kernel to boot on MT6580 chipset. I've been trying to get 6.0 for my MT6580 device (Cubot Note S) however the stock rom kernel is only 3.10 so I've only managed to get 5.1 custom roms to work.
Great Effort Guys and the best MM ROM for Hot 2.
I've been playing around it for about a week now and am so happy and satisfied with it's performance and battery life.

You can also simply use the Infinix Flash Tool!!
System less root is a modified root access strategy which doesn’t modify any files in the /system partition especially on devices running marshmallow, makes it easier to even install OTA Updates!!!

Very very nice work, amazing ROM in fact, very fluid and fast(maybe the fastest for this device) but gutted it doesn't support otg. Then
-layers don't seem to work(installs but after reboot nothing changes, still looks stock).
-layers app also force closes when you try to uninstall layers. (Can still b uninstalled another way)
-after changing nav bar from initial config(switching recents from left to right) recent button don't work.
Still a cracking daily driver for people that don't mind not having otg. Didn't test the camera tho cos am not a camera person.
Again amazing ROM
Many thanks to the devs.

FYI
the stock 6.0 of android one rom is 3.18.xx kernel, so it can be ported out easily without any problems appearing

OpenGapps choose ARM>7.1>micro/nano/pico (micro might still be too big... unless you use the custom install options that allows you not to install everything from the package)
Either way, you might want to further customize your installation (both gapps and system apps), refer to this tutorial
REMEMBER:
ONLY use TWRP 3.0.2-1 or up
/!\ Before installing, read post #3. /!\
HOW TO INSTALL
Requirements: Unlocked Bootloader, a Nougat compatible Custom Recovery and the Downloaded Zips.
NB: as with CM14.1, with a Lollipop compatible recovery like TWRP 3.0.2-0, you will get stuck to recovery, It is MANDATORY to update to 3.0.2-1.; the following error is still present : E:unknown command [log] but will not prevent install.
Place the rom and other like Gapps on the internal Storage or on a USB OTG
Reboot to recovery using the hotkey ( PowerOff+Vol- => With Vol- Go to Recovery => Select the recovery option with Vol+ )
Do Wipes (Data, Cache, Dalvik and System partitions) if you are in a different ROM.
Select the Zips
Swipe to install (if using TWRP)
Reboot and wait 2-3 min
HOW TO DIRTY UPDATE
Same as above, without the need of wiping of reflashing gapps.
HOW TO COME FROM CM13/14?
The Best practice way is to follow the clean install way.
BUT it is also possible to update from CM13/14 using an EXPERIMENTAL data migration build.
Here are the Official recommendations :
This build will allow you to ‘upgrade’ from CM to the signed LineageOS weekly
This build may wipe permissions (you’ll have to re-allow app permissions), but should retain all user data
This build will be watermarked with an ugly banner to ensure that you don’t permanently run this EXPERIMENTAL release, and upgrade to a normal weekly after.
The process for this installation will be as follows:
Install EXPERIMENTAL migration build on top of cm-13.0 or cm-14.1 build (don’t try to install LineageOS 13.0 on top of CM 14.1, that will not work).
Reboot
Install LineageOS weekly build
Reboot
Re-setup your application permissions
Given the EXPERIMENTAL nature of this process, we are going to remove this option in two months time.

As Always, DO A TWRP BACKUP before trashing your device!
Notes, Bugs, and miscellaneous.
Tips and notes:
When choosing a Gapps package ensure it can fit into /system when flashed.
Nano gapps package is recommended as it fits and provides everything in a base package you will need for gapps support. Then, you can install the other google apps from the store later on if needed.
Remember nightly builds are experimental: they can and will be broken from time to time. Always have a backup at hand.
To transfer files from/to PC when plugged in you will get the charging mode prompt status in the status bar, then click it to change from charging mode to transfer files.
Considering the quite low amount of Falcon users left over here, I'm not sure about making a full-sized FAQ;
For now, the following will take that purpose:

go to : https://download.lineageos.org/extras

It's been a long journey since I brought this device... Thank you so much Dev for supporting my 4 years old device... Downloading... LineageOS for falcon... Fingers crossed...

Thanks

Basically, what worked on CM14.1 works on Lineage on this device, I didn't thoroughly tested it, but I didn't encounter much regressions after the migration (I performed the "Experimental" migration, to be in worse case scenario)
long live my (g)old device
ROM installed, so far so good, device performs as good as a brand new kick ass phone.
Keep up the good work!
Clean installed, seems to be good...

Fork of TWRP:
This UNOFFICIAL TWRP recovery is built for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Snapdragon variants in EmotionOS/LineageOS Android 7.1.1 Nougat tree with correct device-specific SELinux policy. It fixed some warnings/errors and differs from the OFFICIAL TWRP in the following ways:
Designed to be built with LineageOS 14.1 only
Customize the mksh prompt and environment by editing mksh/mkshrc
Require fstab v2 syntax
Use external repositories for pigz, exfat, fuse
Power key toggles screen on/off
SuperSU and HTC Dumlock have been removed
Other customizations (see change history)
You can get the OFFICIAL TWRP recovery for Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910V) from here. Other devices can find their variants in the device-specific forums.

Versioning:
To help distinguish builds of recovery made from this fork, the minor version digit is replaced with N#. Minor version increments will be handled as needed, independent of TWRP. The major and semi-major version digits follow upstream to roughly indicate feature parity (as close as possible with a fork, anyways).

Is this twrp required or recommended for your Emo-14.1 builds?
I've found a little bug.
When flashing (there were 3 files added to flash) I turned off the screen using the power button.
After that pressing back the power button vibrated but remained with the screen off, touching the screen had the same effect.
I just waited and turned the phone off.
Next time I flashed the same things without press the power button to turn off the screen and worked fine, even though the screen went off automatically.

Curious about this myself.. and will it affect going back to other ROMs?
how is this different from the TWRP 3.0.2 I am running now on my device? or is this ONLY to flash nougat ROMS?

TWRP themes dont seem to work with this.
so how exactly would you flash the tar?

.tar files are flashed in Odin. You can download the.img custom recovery and flash it in official TWRPapp from the link above

Did anyone find the answer to the question whether this had to be used, or just recommended? Also can you use that same recovery to flash other roms?

Well I can confirm official twrp still works for 2/5 and 2/13 ROMs.
Every time I try to install emotionrom it never recognizes my sim, so I'm not sure if it's because I'm not using the right twrp.
Hi, does this comment "* Require fstab v2 syntax" mean we may have issues flashing Roms that are not LineageOS or EmotionOS? (ie touchwiz)

Same questions here
Stuck in a bootloop on 910T...can't even boot into system.
TWRP issue on 910F
I've hit a bug with VERSION twrp-3.0.N1-20170205-UNOFFICIAL-trltexx.tar. Every time I flush with this recovery i get an encryption failed error. I've had to revert back to twrp-3.0.2-0-treltexx in order to flush my ROMs. Hope this helps someone out there.
I successfully loaded LineageOS 14.1 (Android 7.1.1) using a standard TWRP build (found on their Devices page) - I never knew about this build.
