Is there a full tutorial for 7.11 unlock, root, twrp? - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Hello, I just purchased the midnight black op3t and hope it will be delivered within the next week or two.
I've seen tutorials for unlock, root, twrp for different android versions, including the incremental 7.11 update, but is there a tutorial for someone who is starting fresh with the full 7.11 update?
I'm assuming that by the time I receive my phone I should be able to update to 7.11 immediately in Canada. Then of course I'll want to unlock, root, and twrp right away. What is the best process to follow for someone coming from the full 7.11 version?
Hope this makes sense. Thanks for any assistance or links provided to point me in the right direction.
Cheers!

It's the same
I rooted a op3t with 7.1.1 a few days ago. It's exactly the same as rooting it with the previous versions. Just unlock the bootloader, flash twrp (twrp 3.0.4-1 is recommended) and then flash supersu

Tip. Make sure you don't set up your device right away because unlocking the bootloader will wipe all of your data. I've done this mistake before. Lol

Is there a specific version of supersu I should use?

Can someone share a link to the best, updated unlock, twrp, root guide for this phone? They all seem outdated or causing problems with dm verity, etc. Thanks!

DM verity doesn't effect much, just an extra push off the power button

Mine JUST started! Glad I caught it during download and shut the phone off. Just rooted yesterday and I'll be pissed if I lose it! lol. Hopped on so I could find what needed frozen in TiBu to stop it.

Opposite here. I took the update and want to root. According to the root thread, OE2 can be rooted so I should be good. We'll see.
So do I have to Odin back to stock? I really don't wanna do that!

I don't know of any other options for you at the moment.
My S6 Edge is rooted and I can update if I want. If you want to update go to Software Update and do it.

Anyone else confirm? I've frozen my ATT software update in TB and I'm not on wifi right now. Don't want to use the data.
Let us know if you have root once you updated or if you can still root your phone.
You can't update OTA if you have root!

Are you saying that you're rooted and that you simply have the ability to update but haven't taken the OTA? Or you've verified that your phone is rooted, taken this OTA and your phone is working fine? I didn't think you could take the OTA rooted.

It appears so. When I attempt to run the exploit, I'm notified that my device isn't supported yet. I'm not too worried as the team seems to be chewing through devices and updates at a cyclic rate.
So... most important thing to know here that nobody has mentioned...
How do you prevent it from updating if you're not rooted? Or is the answer to this question still "root the device" -_-

This is just my opinion, and since everyone has one, take it for what you will, but I've frozen the AT&T Software Update because assuming Samsung patches the root in the next update and sends it to the carriers to distribute, do you really want to do everything you can to get the next update even if you lose root?
Personally, I've done everything I could to get root, even if this cost me Samsung Pay which hopefully it won't, because someone smart enough on here will figure out how to patch the update with a ROM that we can flash later.....
Obviously that won't work right this second since we can't flash anything but Smart Switch / Odin stock junk, but assuming Safestrap or similar gets released, you can keep your bootloader lock all you want ATT, we'll just flash what we want over it!

Haha, looks like I was updating my post at the same time you were posting.
What I was actually looking for was a way to do it without rooting seeing as we still have no confirmation regarding Samsung Pay functionality and root breaking it. At some point in the near future in my career, things like Samsung Pay, Apple Pay, etc are going to become useful so I need to have mine handy.

Cheetah Mobile Security?
BOO Asus!
Please do not preload Cheetah Mobile software or at the very least make it fully removable. Many of your customers hate their apps, so please do not torture us with their presence as system apps.
Personally, I did not know that CM apps would be preloaded, and had I known, I very well may have gone with a competitor. I think you've done very well with your Zenfone line's hardware and pricing. If you reconsidered some your business relationships *cough cheetah mobile* and put some real focus on improving ZenUI, I believe you would truly be doing something great with Android.
Keep up the good work. The development community and your customers appreciate it.

On the bright side, the phone seems to be much more responsive now. The Wi-Fi and cellular network bars are always full (was about 2 bars before the update). I have not tested the sound yet, but going by the keyboard sounds, it does seem to be louder than usual.
P.S. I will update my original post with the relevant links later when I am free. Sorry!

cf-auto root problem

Sm-n910t T-mobile
(Update)
I ended up having to do a factory reset so it's working nice and smooth now. So the question is should I go about flashing a custom rom in Odin then using TWRP and as my custom recovery? Or just try it again or wait it out until more people have more success?
(EDIT) MY PHONE ISNT STUCK IN A BOOTLOOP BUT NOW ITS EXTREMLY SLOW.
I used this guide to root my phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/help/sm-n910-cf-auto-root-t2897428/page160 did I miss anything ? should a flash twp onto my phone? im a complete noob to this and I made the mistake of rooting my main phone first please help.
well I woke this morning to my phone stuck in a bootloop it started to act funny right as I had to go to sleep. I cleared the cache didn't work so I had to factory reset and it worked but said my phone was no longer rooted so I repeated the process and rerooted my phone but now its in in the bootloop again what should I do to fix this?

***Tmobile android 10 update

Look 3 posts above at my reply. You have to download the OB1 zip and extract it using the tool I posted. Then flash through fastboot in the order that the post says. Bootloader must be unlocked. You can also download the patched boot.img with magisk.

Not go off topic, but I went from my Nexus 6 to the 6T. While I love the 6T, I still miss my nexus 6 and am even considering getting another one, although not sure if I would use it as my daily.

You don't have to flash the patched boot.img. With the stock boot.img you won't have root, the patched one will give you root access. Never lock your bootloader if your rooted.

Rooting with Magisk

Hi community
According to Rooting standards from Magisk, it should be possible to root the phone without having installed TWRP. An unlocked bottloader should be sufficiant. Has anyone experience with this procedure? If yes, which procedure should be choosen?
Tks a lot!

I first flashed TWRPCNEN Version. Then flashed Buildprop with TWRP, which is needed for Magisk to work. Then I flashed Magisk 20.1. Then I installed Canary Magisk from within OS, and then I updated Magisk within Canary Magisk.
