How To Update P8 Lite 2017 With Frimware Finder EMUI 5.0 - P8 Lite (2017) Discussion

1.Download The Full Frimware B125 Or Higher With Frimware Finder
2.After The Download You Will Find In The Folder HWFF
(intSd or extSd) These Three Files:-
(The Name Could Be Different Due To The Version Of The Device)
update.zip
update_full_PRA-L31_hw_normal.zip
update_full_PRA-L31_hw_eu.zip
update_data_full_public.zip
3.If In intSd Move HWFF To extSd
4.Extract Update.ZIP
5.Now You Delete The ZIP And Replace It With The Update.APP
6.The Order Should Be Like This:-
(Create Dload Folder And Put The Files In There)
UPDATE.APP
update_full_PRA-L31_hw_normal.zip
update_full_PRA-L31_hw_eu.zip
update_data_full_public.zip
7.Then Start The Update By Entering This Code In The Dialer
*#*#2846579#*#*
8.Choose Software Upgrade
9.Choose SD Card Update
10.Good Luck
If The Update Doesn't Succed You Must Wait For OTA Update
And Make Sure To Choose The Correct Version For The Device Or To The Next Higher Version

In my Thread I had reported how one updates of the B100 on the B110. This means a version higher. (The B103 are sales version) An update on a higher version has not succeeded.

could be nice if someone upload both single and dual sim "sales version" like we did on p8 lite ale-l21, since no methods to downgrade/reinstall fimrware, thanks

Didn't work for me, only if i change folder name from HWFF to dload then it boots on recovery but gives me update fail at 5%

Thanks

Would this work with a rooted phone and TWRP recovery installed?

it didn't worked

Which one should I download? All of them are higher than my existing one.
Also, could I update with Root and TWRP?
TIA

I think you can't because your build is different. If you try, you can break your phone.
Only phones with C636B150 and C636B522 builds can update.

ALE-L02 Dual SIM LTE
ALE-L21 Dual SIM LTE
ALE-L23 Dual SIM LTE
ALE-CL00 Dual SIM TD-LTE
ALE-TL00 Dual SIM TD-LTE
ALE-UL00 Dual SIM TD-LTE
I would give a link, but I am not allowed yet

Ale-l02 doesn't support nfc so i can't update using versions for ale-l21.
For ALE-L02 there aren't any 6.0 versions yet.

a brick is what we call when a device won't boot into android anymore.
if you still can boot into recovery it's nothing to worry about you have a softbrick.
you installed twrp. that's your problem.
download the offical build you're on now and extract it.
download Huawei extractor and install it
select the update.app (the large one) from your downloaded build in huawei extractor.
rgiht click on recovery.img and select extract this
after that install miimal adb and fastboot.
boot your phone into bootloader (connect with pc then power it on while holding volume down button pressed until you see a white screen with the android puppet on)
put the recovery.img that you extracted in the adb and fastboot folder
open up a cmd window and type
Code:
fastboot devices
you should get something like
Code:
list connected devices
blablabla
is thats the case put int this
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
wait ill its done and try to do a local update again by putting your update in a dload folder on your device and booting into recovery and do a force update.
it should work.
for the files... just google them.

Unlock bootloader, flash twrp and install update.zip and full_update.zip for your device
Or you could try to find the files to update the devices via dload to a other firmware, but I'm not sure that works, because you want to change the cust.

We will need:
Magisk manager installed on the phone. RECOVERY_RAMDIS.img pulled from UPDATE.APP firmware How to patch stock recovery: We go in tel. in Magisk manager click Install Select patch file We are looking for our RECOVERY_RAMDIS waiting for the end (the path is specified after completion) magisk_patcher.img. The path of the phone memory folder Download If twrp with encryption, our patched file is transferred to our magisk_patcher.img.
1.We go to TWRP, if twrp is not in the Erecovery section, then we flash it into erecovery through img. (Wish) images.
2. We are patching our patched stock recovery to the recovery section.
3.We do through Twrp a reboot in recovery to start the root (it will not go into rekoveri already) With EVERY boot, if we want to root, we boot into the recovery (volume + when turned on), when rebooting, Magisk Manager does this automatically. Route received. What works: Full root, Magisk Hide and everything connected with it including Google Pay, as well as eRecovery What does not work: It is impossible to install a stock recovery, which means that to update the system you need to flash the native recovery, update it, and then do the procedure again.

Hi! I don't know which version it's fine for your device and the only way to know it it's to flash it yourself, but i don't recommend you to do that.
Rooting with Magisk is fine on 9.1, just read the latest posts from this thread - > https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/how-to/guide-magisk-root-mate-10-pro-t3886967/page27
As for the roll-back, ut should be possible to do it with this tool and an appropriate roll-back firmware (again, firmware version might depend on your cust/brand).
I recommend you to keep an eye and also read this thread - > https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/how-to/firmware-version-mate-10-t3722019

Most new fw links are not up yet, and since Huawei decided to name all their firmware the same regardless of model its hard to know which is which :/

as stated before, since every update is named the same it's hard to tell which is L09, L29, A09 or AL/TL. AL/TL are easier as VERSION.mbn in UPDATE.zip doesn't have Global strings in it.
From what it seems, if you flash L09 on L29 or vice versa you get endless OTA updates for preload and cust. I don't know if just flashing the cust and preload zips fixes it, but you're free to try if you want.
Here's L09 preload and cust:
Preload: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...full/update_full_preload_BLA-L09_hw_eu_R1.zip
Cust: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...4//f1/full/update_full_cust_BLA-L09_hw_eu.zip
modified tool to include preload and cust:
https://mega.nz/#!oDR2DYCI!SRQlTq1IriGcEt1Wr--ggrBk7uZ4M_R8OwE6DdvmEEc
Extract and put in the EMUI 9.0 to 9.1 update folder.
Rename cust zip to update_cust.zip and preload to update_preload.zip, put in ZIPS-HERE folder, run modified bat.
Thank you very much, I try very soon. Have any of you done that already?

Perfect, also because I don't have the Root permissions on the device, and I don't even have twrp. In fact now I have tried and says that it does not find root permissions. Then I did not understand if the phone should be connected from on, in recovery or fastboot?
