They ripped you off. Report it to eBay. They sold you a device that you cannot use.

The seller agreed to pay me back for somebody to remove it via remote usb. It was 16 dollars. But i was looking for tutorial on youtibe and only found people selling their service can you post in here some instructions how to do it? For everybody else stuck with the problem i had.

You bought a phone that is either stolen or they didn't pay the bill and it will be blocked on t-mobile. And there is no way to unlock t-mobile at the moment due to the app unlock service being down.
Yes there is a way to remove frp lock.

Can you help me unlock my tmobile s8 too?

If you can root it you can unlock too I think try to search in X10 forums not ahve big differences from x10 mini pro
Not every site does the X8 though even if they do the X10\mini. Maybe it's because it's a newer phone? $40 to unlock a phone is too much!

bitye are you sure you can unlock it if you root the system? my wild guess is that the network lock trigger must be somewhere within the system, or at least the system can access it, therefore it pops up. does anyone know where this file can be found and how to edit it?
i've been searching the hell out of forums and never found any info relating to that. please share
I had my X8 unlocked by http://www.htccode.com/, was unlocked within 10 mins of payment
what network was your phone locked to?
did they send you software to unlock your phone with or did you send imei and they sent you an unlock code to enter
my phone was origionally locked to o2 - UK
did they send you software to unlock your phone with or did you send imei and they sent you an unlock code to enter?
basically they send you the software for the phone, but they do remote session you for a min, was a bit dubious at first but all was good
i tried that through someone else but didnt work and said remote dongle server not working, were you given credits to unlock? if so do you know how many you had/used to unlock?
they dealt with the unlock remotely, I just sat and waited till it was completed
well its worth a go for the price.
but i do advise u wait till online supports online, it cost me $40.00 USD initially see here http://www.htccode.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3160
were they online today when you did it then?
it isnt working for me but then i only paid 20$ because thats the link i had, do u reckon i need to pay another 20$ to have a total of 30 credits?
they were online the night i done it, sorry i should have said that sooner, erm i'd suggest messaging them regaurding that, i'm sure you would be able to get it unlocked with the additional $20 :\
anyone know what the hours are for the live support on htc code?
For anyone in the UK
$40.00 USD = £25.1969 GBP at time of posting...
£25.82 through paypal to be more precise.
Hehe I have no idea get it unlocked in the end?
yeah should have it unlocked tomorrow, they sent me all the remote software stuff and all the login details, i'll report back tomorrow.

Don't quote me but it sounds like you have bought a phone that may have been stolen / lost and the imei has been blocked . If someone would like to confirm . If it is blocked you just brought a nice coaster for a coffee mug .. Don't fret yet though you could still make some money from it. Sell spares on ebay that might at least get your initial money back

Help with my secondhand Note 5? (device protection lock)

Yesterday I bought a Note 5 from a guy including the original package and the receipt. I realised that it has this Device Protection triggered (the new feature on lollipop which locks the phone when the phone is factory reset while still having the lock screen enabled and requires the original owner to log in with his google account). I asked him to meet me again for him to log in which he refused as he thinks it is unnecessary and now he is not responding since. So I'm just stuck here with the brand new locked device. Anyone know what I can do? Can it be unlocked via warranty as I have the original receipt? Thanks

Contact Samsung to find out. Warranties and laws regarding them are different in every country. I don't think anyone here will be able (or willing) to help. We have no way to know if you paid for the device, paid for a stolen device, or stole it yourself. (I'm not accusing you of anything - just pointing out that folks here on xda developers have no way to know.)
Good luck.

Samsung won't be able to do anything about it. They have nothing to do with Android's device protection. Google support is probably your only solution, and you'll need to keep at it until you get directed towards somebody who does know. I'm not sure they'll be able to help you, but apart from convincing the guy you bought it from to meet again, it's all you can do.
Honestly, you'll probably have an easier time convincing the guy to unlock it than convincing Google support you actually purchased the phone.

hi,
just a few pointers to consider....original receipt?
from Samsung or cellphone shop /provider
or from person you bought it from ... or who ?
Why don't you approach them.. for assistance ?
Another point, that warranty that you got, is it "transferable"...? to a 3rd party.(in your case)
In my country and my experience you get very few companies. /shops that would accept /honor, warranty if sold to 3rd-party?.(resold on the sidelines)
I found that even when a customer bought device cash, the company (seller) normally has some record of the original customer and in some cases you have to register device to be entitled to be covered re warranty. It might be different where you are.. i don't know.. i mention it in my post that you can consider it. If not applicable, plse ignore above.
good luck
Hey guys!! Thanks for the replys
After going thru all the possible places (Samsung, google, retail shop the phone was bought from), the only answer is to reach the seller no matter what...
I nagged my seller and explained every single part of the problem and then he finally decided to meet me and log in for me which he did!
However, I seriously feel that Google has to do somethimg about this device protection. For example, allowing the seller to generate one time code for the buyer to log in when they can't meet and don't want to dhare the password, or something that seller can disable this on a computer.. just something.
Well I hope my case gave you some heads up
When selling/buying an Android higher than 5.1, always check the device protection.
If youre a seller, factory reset after disabling the lock screen!
Cheers guys
How did you buy it and pay for it? eBay and Paypal, then just raise a dispute. The £500 or so blocked funds on his account should wake him up. At least it's sorted now.

I would only expect a refurbished phone from someone like Asurion (via insurance claim). It's most definitely used, as you've already confirmed.
now i cant to anything hope its at least only used not a fake chinese one.

You can make a PayPal claim, and show proof with screenshots, and how it's different from advertised listing. Many countries are covered by Consumer Protection.
Check the IMEI (in any online website) it will show the device details.

Doesn't note 8 start up directly with setup in first boot

I recently brought a note 8 seal packed but when I started the phone it started directly without setup and was showing home screen.
I have concerns that it is used by someone or not.
Can anyone confirm if they had the same Issue.
I am from uae brought note 8 64 gb dual sim.

I don't know how to check, but I've had 3 Note 8s and they've all started up with the setup procedure. None have gone straight to the home screen.

It's definitely been opened before, and they went through setup and then re-sealed the phone.
Common practice here in Pakistan, probably happens in the UAE as well.
Where did you buy the phone from?
Have to put a local sim card in to unlock region lock.
Sent from my SM-N950U using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Most likely opened by the reseller to insert region SIM and make a 5 minute call to unlock the phone. If you by from Clove in UK, they give you the option to allow them to perform this procedure.
Most likely, the reseller just skipped the Google/Samsung customization just to make the call. Who did you buy it from?
I brought from a local store person in uae..
But I have brought so many phone no one had this thing so is there any where to find our if this used by someone or reseller has just used it..

Does it matter? Just factory reset the phone. Boot into download mode to see what the System shows as. If everything shows as Official, you should be good to go.
Did it have the front and back clear plastic film on the phone?

I got mine from Clove UK. They opened it, made a 5min call to lift the region lock, but they also reset the phone before shipping. Mine booted to the setup. In fact I couldn't 3ven tell they used the phone, not a single smudge on it anywhere. Only indication was the seal was broken & they even did than cleanly.
Was your seal broken? That's not something you can easily fake not being previously broken.

If the phone has root, you can use the Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app to check for the Usage History (Headset Connect Counter, Charger Connect Counter, S-Pen Detach Counter).
Anyway you cal also use this app to check for the device's refurbishment (left-side menu > "Refurbishment Check").

Yes it is.
Glad that you find it useful.
Just because on your initial boot up it goes to the home screen, doesn't mean that it was pre-owned or used. Here in Japan I went to the store (phone carrier) and got a new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 last week , and they asked what language I wanted, and my girlfriend said English. Due to my slow Japanese , I didn't realize that they were going to quickly set it up there. So, while they were putting in the SIM, which is standard practice at the store, they quickly set it to English.
Nothing else was done though, so as soon as I got home, I was able to update all of the apps etc.
(I'm still using the original protective plastic, until I get to one of my workplaces where it's pretty much dust free, before I put my own screen protector on.)
Like someone said here, you can do a factory reset if you really want to go through the setup yourself.
I really love this phone. First new device for me in 5 years! If I'm honest, I can't wait to get a flip case for it. Then it will feel more gripable in the hand. I'm just using the included plastic case for now. I've yet to see a Samsung case yet, but I've only been to 3 stores so far. :good:
I don't have that issue.
