Can i update after rooting ?
I have successfully downgraded the phone and rooted it using KingRoot. TWRP was successfully installed too.
Can I download the OTA updates from OPPO website and still update my phone using the TWRP ?
Viper 4 Android is not working even though the phone is rooted.
Greenify hibernates the apps but they restart on their own after some time even though i have denied them the auto start permission.
Please help me in fixing these.
Thanks

for number 6, he means to flash the file you have downloaded on step 4. for number 9, you already have root access on that point given that you have followed all preceding instructions. The file you flashed on step 6 is the pre-rooted system partition of the 244 firmware, that is why on step 8 he indicated that you should not include flashing of the system part.
offtopic: now that there is a root method for xperia ZR, I will be buying it in the coming weeks. =))
Now it all seems to work fine so far. But what still hold me back is the pre-rooted zip file with the system partition from an unknown source. I always run custom ROM on my Android phones but usually they're from the developer directly. Flashing zip files downloaded from these Russian websites seem a bit risky. Anyone knows more about the source of it?

Now i had to wipe data and everything, even the internal storage was formatted when wiping data!!! Reinstall the firmware and lost root, so ill have to do it all over again for the love of god, please!:crying:

The file zr244-system-supersu.zip is already a flashable zip of system partition with busybox, su and Superuser.apk. So you might find your missing files there or flash it for the whole system partition.

Thanks for the edit! You saved me some time.
Are you by any chance planning any ROM development for the ZR?
Just followed the instructions and upgraded to 4.2.2 with root. Data is preserved and so far everything seems fine. Finally see lockscreen widgets again!
is anyone able to get into recovery? pressing up or down during the green light doesnt do anything. the only way i can access recovery is to reflash it every time.

How to uninstall SuperSU that was installed through TWRP?

I accidentally confirmed installation of SuperSU while trying to exit TWRP (I wish TWRP had an option to disable it) ;[
How do I uninstall it? As I'm unable to boot into my phone anymore((

Does your LG G4 haven't got a key press combination to go to bootloader menu ?
Oooh wait first hit on Google search.
How to Boot into Fastboot Mode on LG G4 with the help of its Hardware Buttons:
First of all, turn off the smartphone.
Then, press and hold the Power and Volume Up keys at the same time for about 6 or 7 seconds.
Plug in the USB cable for your smartphone and connect it to your PC.
Release the keys only when the download mode is being displayed.

Hi Bro... Can we able to bring this for Mi4i ????
Hello people !
Thanks for the thread. I'm trying to root an Elephone M2 "Elephone_M2_20160223" 5.1 and I got a twrp but with the flash of the update supersu zip I've got a problem : it doesn't work. I tried with the one mentionned in post 1, even with 2.46 2.65 and latest 2.71 : nothing works from this twrp (installation aborted) and I can't change the Twrp. From the applications I tried phone on like Kangoroot and others, failed again.
What can I do to root this phone, please ?
OK I'm sorry Kingoroot.apk give me root rights, sorry for my questions, i't seems ok now. I need nox to replace the kinguser app by the super su app for the binaries and for the choice. I hope I'll find out.
Thank you !
Edit : To give me super su working I need twrp working. King root give me the root rights but replace it and I can't do more. Flashify do work only with supersu so it's not working. My so called TWRP is "recovery LMY47D dev-keys" is it really a TWRP ? I'm not sure now. And I can't flash or install anything from here...
Ah Ah ! Sorry for the useless post again ! Flashify finally worked and I've flashed the nice recovery image from Carliv 6 Rebooting... Super su tell me it's not uptodate... the recovery do its job, rebooting... (twice) and it works !
Thank you for reading, I feel sorry and stupid but thanks to this thread I found answers !

[Root] Rooting any official MIUI version on Redmi Note 4g

Hi,
I found it on web and i don't really remember from where i got it but its not my work so all credits to whom so ever it may be concerned.
##Please proceed at your own risk, i am note responsible for any damage to your device or any data loss.
Below is a zip file that will root nearly any version of MIUI on Redmi Note 4g.
Tried and tested on miui 7 & 8.
##Need Someone to test on MIUI 6##
Its a superuser flashable zip rooting file for Redmi Note 4g only.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8CWcCKLg4hraUZXMDVLc050TWM/view?usp=drivesdk
**To Root**
Please make a backup of your data before starting to root your device.
Recommended: Do not connect to any internet network such as wifi,gprs,3G/4G...
to avoid update searching issue till the process is over.
1)Download the above rooting .zip file from the above URL and save it into your internal/external SD Card(Recommend in your internal SD Card).
2) Now open Updater App of MIUI and open options.(3 dots in the right at the top)
3) Now choose the option "Choose Update Package". Now the file manager will get open.
4)Locate the .zip file that you downloaded in the file manager and click on it(For MIUI 8: After clicking on the file it gets selected and then click on ok).
5)Wait for the process to get over. Phone will restart and you will see the superuser app installed now.
6)Now open the app and a pop up will come to update su.Click on Ok and in that select Normal/CWM or TWRP as per the recovery you have installed on your device.
7) That's it now your device is successful rooted.
##Note: Its not a native root.
**To UNROOT**
1)Just Open The SuperSU App
2)Click on Settings. Then, click On Full Unroot option.
3)Then Click Continue, and the unrooting will begin.
4)After a reboot, your phone should be clean of the root.

Ya its an alternative method to it but using kingroot my experience is not good.
It couldn't not help to fully unroot my device also if i needed to use super su it gave me problem.
If it's working for u then its well and good but if u like super su more then u can use the above method.

Cool
iT may cause your phone no reaction while connecting to The Pc if you use The latest supersu version on supersu official website. I prefer phh's superuser . I rooted my mido perfectly With it.
I tried the above method but I accidentally selected twrp method when su asked to update.
Now the phone stuck at MI boot loop screen I can only access to fast boot mode but can't enter recovery mode.
So any help ?
Is the file size 2.81 MB only?
Phone stuck/ Damaged
Im also having same problem.
After flashing Su, it asked for reboot. When i reboot, it is stuck in MI logo and not restarting. i observed this for more than 10 hrs. When i tried to start with recovery, again it is stuck is FASTBOOT screen and not progressing. My phone is not usable now. Please help

Ok thanks
I have J7 prime [SM-G610F] with stock andriod 8.1, samsung experience 9.5 and 1 November 2018 security patch will it still work?
I don't think so. I think the J7 with 8.1 is impossible to root? I can't seem to find an answer on this.

yes, I have made root in my SM-G610m with Android 8.1 and it was with TWRP, and I have learned it from YouTube and in Spanish language.
For now I do not have available Super User. I think this post will work for me

Which one do you recommend? At which point do I have to install it and then I don't need to install no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0?
EDIT: I think I finally got it. I did it like this:
1. Ok, so the phone as a fresh 8.1.0 system (just flashed the 7.0 and then it updated OTA in a matter of minutes). I enter the phone, enable the developer mode, enable OEM Unlocking and USB Debug.
2. Then I put the phone on download mode, flash the TWRP recovery disabling the auto-reboot on Odin so it doesn't boot to system automatically. This seem important since otherwise the recovery goes back to stock.
3. Then, to get out of download mode I press vol. down and power keys at the same time and the phone turn off. Then I turn on the phone into recovery mode, once in there I swipe into write mode and go to Wipe and select Format Data, type down yes and it says it's done. I go back to TWRP main menu.
4. I connect the cellphone to the PC and in storage I select Mount USB. Then drag the Magisk-v18.0.zip file into the storage that pops up on Windows. Then I saftely remove the device in Windows and go back to the main TWRP menu on the phone. I select Install and install the .zip file without selecting Signature verification or Reboot after is complete. It says is done installing and no errors seems to occur. I employ the button to wipe Cache and Dalvik.
5. I go back again o Wipe and select Format Data, type down yes and it says it's done, again.
5. Then I try to reboot to System, and choose to Do Not Install the TWRP app, and... SUCCESS!! The phone starts again, I config everything and then Magisk is there in the apps. I tried with an app that requires SU and it works!
Thanks for the help.

That's the way I have done it. But if you go on Z3X, select the device (SM-G610M), and you perform some activity like repair IMEI, Z3X detects the root, but it does not detect the Super User.
