Enable magisk hide root and try. If it doesnt then the feature is not present in the rom.
Depends on the rom also. Kernel supports safetyNet bypass but rom should have that feature to bypass.

Its a kernel read op. Flash firmware and reflash the rom if have flashed nougat rom directly from lollipop.

Download nougat firmware.
Reboot to recovery
Wipe everything other than internal and otg
Flash nougat firmware and then flash the rom.
Fingerprint should work .
If not then fastboot cos and find if it works in it.
If it doesn't work in cos also then it's hardware issue.

Cos is cyanogen os.
U wld have jumped directly from lollipop to nougat so u faced fingerprint issue. Now as u r back to marshmallow fingerprint is working. Now u can flash Nougat rom and u wll have fingerprint option.

i was back to nougat so that i mentioned its not working but as you said i came from directly to nougat from lollipop but after asking same qes in forum they said this same method but nothing worked for me so is there any way to fix or i have to stick to mm will there be any solution for nougat roms users like me where i found multi window as an better option

Users reported that synapse wasn't working so i checked it and fixed it. Now u can download the new zip from https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=961840155545580384 . Use the same procedure to flash.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
I flashed the kernel on nuclearom 7.1.2 as instructed in the op by clearing cache and dalvik but it ended in a boot loop.

i mentioned on note. 0.4 is first build it doesn't have any changes(little fixes maybe). I'll add new version in 2 days with new stuff for our zenny. I'm working on brighter flashlight now.
Can you use for 1 day or something to see battery life?(on dirty unicorns. because i have cm i can't test on other roms right now)

Flashed the v1.1 Kernel....no errors. Boot up phone was then stuck at ASUS logo. Tried to flash v0.4 kernel to return to stock...no errors...Boot up phone was then stuck at ASUS logo again. Thank you for consistently reminding us to take nandroid backup.

No custom kernel supports that version of mm blobs. It's because Jason broke a lot of stuff with that which was fine in the 09/03 mm bl Cm13 build.
If you want custom kernels you should stay on 09/03 build.

umm dunno how stock works.. try deleting /system/lib/module (whole module folder) it is not required cuz kernel has it inbuilt now.. please make backup before doing anything

I always have backups... You don't say on the steps if we have to do a simple wipe/cache after installing the rom.. Could this be my problem for no savings wifi passwords after reboot??

Fingerprint sensor is faster! Currtently im using I/O-Scheduler Zen an 1024 Readahead.
I underclocked both CPU groups and so far the Phone is still stable

Current support for miui is not very good, need to brush driver package. If you want to brush into another kernel, you must firs trestore to stock boot.img。

I restored stock kernel first, then flash your kernel and like befere i have bootlop. After that I flash Clarity kernel and all is ok.

Always send logs when you encounter the error. The kernel is more tailored toward a custom ROM but it is compatible with stock for those that use it. Please reproduce and send logs. Thank you.

I cant seem to find anything about "vibrate option" other than it is related to qualcomm haptic based on the qpnp-haptic documentation from googlesource. What features does this bring with it? Improved haptic feedback? Feedback based on audio? I cant seem to find any information on it

I forgot to remove the feature in the list, you should be able to set the vibration strength in a kernel tweaker application. unfortunately the feature for whatever reason doesn't stick past reboot.

thanks for your work, this kernel works fine on my stock rom, and i have to set the governor back to schedutil as i found schedallucard consume more power than normal schedutil, and I have to enable wakelock blocker manually in EXKM, everything else is good. oh...and backlit dimmer is disabled by default, I think is it possible to enable such feature as u mentioned on first page by default? thank you
