Belt Replacement (Show stopper !!) - LG Watch Sport

I want to get this watch, but I am kind a turned off on not been able to replace the watch band. Anyone has thought about this limitation on this expensive watch? What happens if belt breaks? How much is the replacement cost?

Swiss Mobility Legion Smartphone Case for Xperia X1

I'm interested in the above mentioned case from Swiss Mobility. Anyone here with experiences to share with this case (used together with X1)? I can't find a distributor in Europe - anyone knows where to buy it in Europe? (I know BestBuy has them, but the nearest store is 6000 miles away and shipping is twice the cost of the case). Swiss Mobility's web site hasn't worked for some time. Anyone knows what's up with that?
http://www.xperiadepot.com/swiss-mobility-legion-smartphone-case/4A80A3757.htm
They ship to Europe with courier service (3-5 days) for 25 usd. same price for the case so I suppose its worth it if you want to order together a couple more accessories.
currently unavailable
Looks great, too bad it's unavailable!
They are probably unavailable because Swiss Mobility went under the radar.
How exactly are carrying cases worn?
I've seen people wear carrying cases only a scarce amount of times, and I totally forgot how people manage to wear these.
I have a carrying case for my phone (not the Xperia), and it is so bulky! It's for the Samsung SCH-i760 btw. Anyways, so this is how I wear it: I basically use the "clip" to clip onto my belt, but I notice it is so bulky.
So when I usually wear shirts that cover almost pass the fly/zipper of my pants. And when I try to pull my shirt down to cover my pant, it covers the damn thing, and it looks like I got big tumor on the right or left side of my stomach.
So then I clip it on my pocket, it looks better, but now the pong hangs more loosely. It's kinda funny how these carrying cases rarely have a model for them to wear the carrying case, this is because companies know that it's freaking ugly to carry these things, ugly = no sales.
So if I am doing it all wrong, and if I am wrong that it's freaking ugly, then tell me this: what is the proper method of wearing these damn things?

Tuck your shirt in.
beware magnets
that swiss case uses a magnet, when i had a case that used magnets i found that when i got a call the phone would wake up and as the phone passed by the magnet when getting it out it would think that the slide had been activated and rotate . by the time this happened i could not answer the call in time and it went to messaging.
This may have been more of an issue with some of the earlier roms that I was using that were quite slow to rotate.
you might be able to work round this depending on the strength of the magnet and/or what orientation you put the phone in the case.
I bought a case that is secured by velcro to avoid this problem, however a couple of months later the velcro has worn out and does not stay closed. I may get my old magnet case out again and see if the new faster roms are better at coping.
i want get this case so long already where i can get it?

Gear Live Repairability via ifixit

This is a great guide to repairing our Gear Live watches that may come in handy with the reports of broken charger tabs. It actually looks like a pretty easy job to replace the back cover providing that they're available to purchase.
https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Samsung+Gear+Live+Teardown/27038
If this is in the wrong section, feel free to move it to a more appropriate location.
A piece of plastic chipped off the back of my watch and the clasp on the left hand side of my charging dock broke yesterday. I have to use a piece of tape to hold watch against pins. That took only a month to happen. Pisses me off because I didn't listen to the reviewers or forums. Think I may grab a 360 if Samsung won't fix it. I bought it off eBay brand new last month, so I don't know how that's all gonna work. You pay $250 (or whatever the final price is) and the back is plastic as well as the charging dock. Live and learn I guess. I still love the hell out of the watch, but DEFINETELY see this same exact thing happening to a lot of folks.

[Q] S View cover and Google Now

I put on an S View Cover today and love it, quality has improved ALOT vs Note 3's. Only 2 complaints so far,
1. Still no cut out for LED notification.
2. When say "OK Google", the phone beeps and listen just fine, but before it could finish telling me the respond, it got cut off. This is due to the phone was locked and put to sleep because of the cover still closed.
I am a little frustrated with issue #2. Any solution would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys.
It is almost too weird that any question I've asked up on here never gotten any responds. Is it just me? Guess no one else has similar problems, I'll live with it for now. Great phone though, love it.
I have same problem but stuck like you are
I am interested in buying the Samsung S-View cover as well. Is there a place that sells genuine covers cheaper than the $50 MSRP?
That is price pretty steep for a cover.
Where did you guys buy yours?
For issue#2 an app called Open Mic+ enables Google now on the s-view screen, but it's a battery eater!

Does the Gear Live still do the job?

Hi all
Because of the price point ($150 CDN), the gear live is one of my finalists for a smartwatch.
My question is, obviously, is the device still a good purchase in 2016?
Why or why not?
Thanks!
I would say yes I got the watch for christmas from my wife and have been using it every day since, lasts me all day with a few texts here and there, connects to my bluetooth headset, plays music independantly of phone, plenty of watchfaces on android market and can make your own with watchmaker app. Heart rate monitor is pretty consistent, screen res is nice and always on with dimmed mode. All in all a nice looking functional watch
yep mine still works awesome. I think google said that all android wear watches will get marshmallow update so it atleast good for another year. The always on display is a big feature.
I would say no....
I recently bought the Samsung Gear Live (new for $80) and also a new LG Urbane and I think I would have skipped the SGL if I had to do it over.
They are both running the same code and quite frankly, the SGL is a bit flaky compared to the LG.

I would avoid the Samsung Gear Live at any price over $80 USD.
I purchased a SGL in November 2014. I wore it all day every day until December 2015 when I picked up a Huawei Watch.
Samsung Gear Live:
Pros:
AMOLED Display
Heart Rate Sensor
Comfortable Ergonomic feel when worn
Acceptable battery life (I keep tilt to wake, always on display, and Wifi active)
IP67 Certification with silicone straps work well with an active lifestyle
Cons:
Display likely to pick up a few scratches over time. The outter bezel is not raised from the screen which makes the watch easier to interact with, but offers no protections against incidental contact. (I am very careful with electronics but my watches always seem to get nicked up. Unless you go with a Huawei watch with sapphire crystal this will likely be an issue on any android wear watch.)
Charger quality in question. The charger cradle clips on the back of the watch and secures tabs in the cradle into recesses on the sides of the watch. One of the tabs on my charger broke after around 6 months. I purchased a replacement from Samsung which is still holding up. I have even read cases of the recessed cavities on the watch breaking.
The plastic around where the watchbands connect has cracked and chipped off. The band is still held securely in the metal casing but I would think this will happen on all SGLs with time. This appears to affect the watches water resistance as it creates openings into the case.
The Lugs/connection place for the watch bands has a unique profile that in my opinion only looks nice with the watch band that comes with the watch. It will work with most 22mm watch bands but third party bands just don't look right to me.
The connection on the stock watch band is secured with two punch-through pins and can disconnect if the band gets caught on something like your belt or pocket.
The watch does not include an internal speaker and therefore will not support the speaker features in the Marshmallow Android Wear update.
Final Thoughts
I still wear my SGL when playing sports or working out but due to the build quality issues and look/style with custom watch bands I would not recommend it as a daily watch. I would suggest an Asus Zenwatch 2 in a similar price point as it includes an embedded speaker and has a more standard watch lug design that will allow you to use third party straps without compromising the look.
Once the Marshmallow Android Wear update is available you will definitely want a watch with an embedded speaker. I am so looking forward to being able to easily answer a call on my watch while either my phone is close but not accessible or my hands are not able to get to my phone. My most common examples wold be driving, cooking, and playing video games.
I have also accrued 5 new watch bands in addition to the one that came with my Huawei watch and I change them very frequently. I was not able to do this with the Gear Live as I hated the way after marked watch straps looked at the connection between the watch strap and the watch case.
If you still want a Gear Live I would suggest setting up an alert for it on Slickdeals and wait for a good deal to come along. It was available for $80 USD for a short time on 1/15/2016 on eBay.
Let me know if you have any more detailed questions about the SGL.

Led View Cover

I got the LED view cover for S7 Edge and read somewhere that it should be possible to answer calls by swiping the led on the front... But I can't get it to work.
Also is it so that the LED is supposed to light up only in 2-3 seconds?
Have you switched on the nfc on your phone? This needs to be on for the case to work properly. The LED only lights for a few seconds on my case also. Hope this helps
Hi guy's I have just finished reviewing the official led case on YouTube, I bought it with my own money and I don't earn a penny from my reviews. Click on my link below and see the major flaws with this case.

I will be reviewing a lot more case's in the next few days so subscribe to my channel as I will also be giving out some cases for you guy's to review from Ulak. Please enjoy many thanks

It costs between £40 & £50 depending where you buy it from. Which country are you based in?
I bought this case when I got the phone, because there was no other decent case in the store at the time being and I couldn't wait till April for my spigen cases to arrive from amazon (I know, right..... April??).
It is quite nice actually. The materials used are very good, very "premium" (as it is socially accepted to say). The inside of the lid is a soft leather-like material and I feel quite certain it won't scratch the screen (like the SView for the S6 duo did). Also you DO NOT need NFC turned on in order to use the LED part of the case. I turned off my NFC the moment I got the phone and the case works flawlessly (accepting, rejecting calls etc).
One thing I do mind though is the limited functionality. I do not get why I can accept a call when the lid is closed, but I can't end it.... doesn't make much sense. Truth be told this is my only complaint really. The price is quite steep for what it offers though - if I were to buy the case again for the price I got it (circa 50 euro), I don't think I would. Don't get me wrong - it is a really nice case, it's just not worth so much.

I agree with you, interesting about the nfc, the instructions state that it needs to be switched on for the case to work fully. Are you getting text and email notifications with the nfc switched off? And the galaxy music player app showing the eq? Sammie should have created an app for the case to increase the notifications and timings etc.
Yes, I do get text notifications. Don't know about email and music because I use Play Music and Gmail, and the case does not work with third party apps (which is another bummer).

How do you get text notifications? I have NFC enabled but only get for calls and alarms. I use hangouts for texts though.. could that be it?
edit: nevermind, just read the whole comment.. sucks that 3rd party apps don't work :/ I use hangouts, whatsapp and gmail, and it would've been awesome to have those show up, now that we're covering the LED notification on the phone with this cover.
No missed notifications. Only when you receive them. Theres no way to see ANY missed events. It doesn't even recognize original email-app
Full of **** this is!
Has anyone managed to get more functionality from the led flip case?
How does the case get power for the LED?

From what i read it gets power via nfc and doesnt require much, something to do with radiation energy given off by nfc. It might be rubbish but thats all i have heard
Anyone else annoyed by the NFC sound? How do I turn it off???
I think it is the S_Beam_error.ogg that plays (located in /system/media/audio/ui) ... Doesn't work turning off Android Beam. The sound is still there when the led cover gets behind the phone.
u dont need nfc on for it to work, not on my led case anyway

That's right. My case works without Nfc turned in settings, too. Strange thing is that at the beginning the case was not always working properly- delayed notifications, once I couldn't answer the call with a swipe, errors with displaying, etc. But after some time, about a week or more, it got better and now I rarely face any issues.
After reading this thread i went and bought it. Here are my thoughts.
The case is expensive but worth it if u can get it cheaper. I only paid full price cause i financed it from tmobile to pay $3 a month. For the $69.99 that it actually cost. I actually hate flip cover case but this one i really like.
Not sure if it is real leather but it feels really premium, it does look really premium. Has a flip cover is very easy to open and close.
It needs NFC only to pair at the begining, then u can disable it and still works 100% i get all my notification, the time etc, this is with NFC off (after pair)
I do like when u are in a call the led shows the duration of the call instead of the time, i also get my notification of sms and when im charging i get a cool animation of charging battery icon then a % battery number.
Wireless charging works just has well with this case. I really like how it feels and in half of day of use i have gotten use to this flip cover.
If u can find it under $50 i really recommend this case, very soft premium feel, i had before the samsung slim platic cover, it is nice looking but the back plastic also become very fingerprint and slipery. Not enough grip, also its more like scratch cover than anything else. This case seem to take a fall and protect. Plus is protecting the screen for fall and scratches.
this case is only ok, if it was around £15-20 it would be more appropiate. it just lets its self down with the notifications only staying on for a few seconds, if it stayed on all the time it would be a great case
3rd party notification
anyone working on LED cover notifications ?
the cover is excellent. however, i hope someone can develop application to include 3rd party notification such as whatsapp and facebook. it will be awesome !!
thanks
