LED is decided by the manufacturing month. - Xiaomi Redmi 4X Guides, News, & Discussion

I my opinion the LED in our Redmi 4x is decided by the manufacturing month. Maybe new units dont have colour LED inbuilt so they show no effect of fixes. So, just comment below with your manufacturing month along with the type of LED you have now.
FYI- Manufacturing month is written on the box.

Only white led works on my phone. September

Disappointed with screen

Hi just got my ATT galaxy s5 yesterday and I'm very disappointed with the screen. Yellow tint at the bottom and cool blue at the top is this normal with AMOLED displays?

Agreed. Sounds like a defect.
Defect. The S5 has probably the best screen on the market right now you can buy right now in terms of brightness and color accuracy.

yes I did. It look fine at full brightness but at low brightness is where the problem is. Warm in the middle and cool blue on the top and bottom
I sell them and haven't had a single one come out like that. Sounds like a bad batch that particular store

Screen green/yellow

Hi.
My friend's Nexus got screen green/yellow.
What can be?
We think maybe it is battery issues.
why or how would a battery isdue make your screen green? that idea is completely unrelated. what you have is a device with broken hardware. i recommend that you get it exchanged asap.

Already spot a yellow band

Was happy that I finally got my phone in, untill I powered it up and notice there is a yellow tint band right in the middle of the screen vertically.. I was hoping this wouldnt happen because with my luck I always get a phone with an issue like that.
I mean the yellow band isn't notice off that bat but when u have a grey or darkish background u can see it.
I'm debating to send it back and get fustrated waiting for it again...

I would send it back. It's a brand new phone, but I understand wanting it. I'm still waiting for mine. But you wouldn't buy a new car with a scratch on it so send it back.

Do they still have a year warranty?
Or a return policy?
I just want to fool around with the phone for a week and get use to it and maybe send it back for a new one.

OnePlus offers a 15 day no questions asked, hassle free, full refund on their phones (and accesories that have not been opened). You only pay for shipping after filing for an RMA ticket with their customer service.
It takes a couple of weeks to get the refund, but you'll get it as long as it passes inspection from any of their authorized service centers that your phone ends up in.
Hope this helps.

That was not my point,i know what the cause is, I had it on my one plus one, and oneplus 3. But you were talking about a screenshot, a screenshot will be 100% perfect, even when the screen is completely broken, you have to take a picture of the screen with another camera. A display tester app won't work either. It's all theoretical info.
OP, thanks for pointing out. I made my decision to not buy this phone if they still can't manage to do it right.

The REAL reason behind the jelly effect

The reason behind the Jelly effect is that OnePlus 5 has mounted the screen upside down. If you turn your phone around the jelly effect will be greatly reduced. I'm not experiencing issues with jelly effect .
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/scrolling-issues-please-vote.556514
Turned my OP5 upside down, jelly effect is greatly reduced. My box has a date of June 12th, 2017.
Turned my Pixel XL upside down, it suddenly has a jelly effect.
This problem is almost certainly caused by OnePlus mounting the OP5 display upside down.

What's your manufacturing date?
a lot of phones have screen mounted with flex in down position. example: last week replaced mate s glass only, flex on down area, s3 also down, no jelly effect. will be another reason, not screen position.
Totally fixes the jello. Bizarre.

Idk i still think it's cool. :/ It adds a flavor to scrolling. It's like things are softly falling into place its a neat accent.
Can more people confirm that this jello effect happens even while in TWRP? I think it would point to a hardware rather than software issue.
BTW, it happens even in TWRP for me.
I don't have the jelly effect on my phone either. I tried very hard to recreate it and didn't notice anything. Mine was manufactured on June 10th, 2017.

Don't think so
Well I have the annoying jello effect and it is making me motionsick, once you see it, you can't unsee it!
This gets really annoying.
I don't think this is going to be fixed in a software update.
I am going to return mine even though I still have the 15 day return window till July 11th.
Every time I see the screen I really get annoyed with that jelly effect, first I thought it was this launcher animation.
And then out of nowhere I saw some articles about this issue, that's when I decided I need to return this device.
Really sad to say this because I owned every OnePlus device except the X.
#OnePlus5ail
If it is simply because the screen is mounted upside down wouldn't everyone have this issue?
This is really weird, I don'T have a Oneplus 5 but I can confirm this on my Galaxy S7, when the screen is upside down, I can see this effect. What the hell tho, I mean why is that have to do anything with the screen's orientation?

Edge screen has same green tint problem as Edge+

It starts to show up after three days
Gray appears green
i opened my new edge today after purchasing yesterday, and it had green screen issue too .. called moto and was told they had numerous calls about it..this sucks cause this seemed like a decent phone especially for $200 off

Right side for me. Still, just because it's faded doesn't mean it's over. I wanted to unlock the bootloader, but I can't go voiding the warrantee when I may end up needing it.
I'll probably return it and wait for the US release of the G 5G equivalent.
If all it needed was a break-in, that should've been done at the factory.

I am in the same situation. I see the green tint, but it isn't as bad as when I first turned it on.
I posted a new thread over in the Q&A with a poll about it. The moto support forums are starting to buzz with folks complaining, and the best buy reviews are starting to roll in with photos. Moto may have a slightly big problem on their hand.
Mine did the same after just 1 week, i send it to the service and they said they ordered the hardware for replacement, couldnt return the phone and get my money back
UK model (single sim) MOTP-EDGBLK - same issue.
Only apparent when the brightness is below 50%.
I received #4 replacement
This time I noticed some changes in hardware
The screen looks OK for 18 days
Nothing funny so far
I returned mine back to Amazon and bought another - after 3 days, same issue.
Gave up, got a refund and bought a Pixel 5.
Such a shame, I really liked the Moto Edge design, size and battery life. Unfortunately it seems that Motorola can't make phones, had a screen related issue on my Moto X Force a few years back too, seems like Motorola have not improved at all.

I assume it's difficult to have good yields due to the waterfall design. There could be a relatively high failure for this type of design.
It's funny how my 2nd Edge is exhibiting the same green tint. I was so sure I could put this behind me.

The waterfall design isn't new though. Other OEMs have made similar style displays (Samsung, OPPO etc) and none then have such a high failure rate like this.

Whatever the source is, Moto is clearly struggling to obtain good panels. Reviews say the screen is great but they fail so easily. It's beyond strange.

Green tint seems to come before purple streaks and double images, no? Look at reviews on best buy, green tint is the least of your worries.
Also you could use swift installer to make certain apps black. I only noticed the green tint cause I happened to have another phone next to the edge.
3 days in from bestbuy retail stock, box has a 20 october 2020 date on it. No screen issues. Of course, when I have the light theme enabled there are often situations where I can see a slight greenish/grey hue to the edge as it begins to curve. That's just optics and not at all as some of the pics I have seen. Sweet ride so far.
As of December 8th, no more purple blotches, which has shadows of the notification bar, and cutout. Hasn't happened in about 2 weeks. I did notice, with the latest build(October), that the battery drains a touch faster. Still don't know if it's curing of screen materials, or update.
Screen is still perfect after full 8 weeks
