F.A.Q.
ROOT! ROOT! Give me root or i'll die!!! Where root is???
First of all DO NOT flash any SuperSu/SuperUser/SuperMan zip package to get root. Go to Settings>Developement Settings>Root access and select "Apps Only"
Why no nightly today?
Build failed. Check again tomorrow
When do I have to wipe data?
You must wipe data only when you're switching from another rom or migrating to Snapshot branch from Nightly and vice versa. You don't need to wipe data when you update in the same release channe (this applies to 13.0 -> 14.1 upgrades too)
Will you add <insert awesome feature here>?
I won't. If you write it, submit a commit to gerrit, where it will be reviewed.
The LineageOS team would like to thank everyone involved in helping with testing, coding, debugging & documenting! Enjoy!

We have the same problem
Enviado desde mi Moto Z2 Play mediante Tapatalk

I pulled these logs after it rebooted back into twrp recovery

I've managed to boot in after the format and flash. But data was disabled, screen off sent a shut down signal and went directly to the recovery. I'll flash stock and try another way around. props

Those who experience reboot .. disable ambient display.

I came here to say what I'm finding, I'm using it on the bike xt1710-07, the automatic theme works using the launcher pixel2, I found it very cool, using a dark wallpaper, the theme darkens and the theme turns white, turn off the screen only in the power button of the device, the rom supports the magisk as I am using it and I have root access, as you mentioned the device does not stay reigning alone, I had to disable the display environment, it's a shame the camera does not work, in my opinion this was the that I found so far, if the camera by at least the other problems work does not affect much, I loved this rom.

Make sure you take EFS backup before flashing any custom rom...

just backed up stock and flashed latest build.... hooray for camera and FM Radio Ambient display still causing reboot to recovery, but I never use that feature on any of my devices so I disable it. I'll report any bugs I find and provide logcat(s) if needed.
I have the wireless charging moto mods addon. I did some looking around on the moto z (griffin) forum and found an addon to flash. I might try it after I get this build setup and backed up.
*edit* addon does not work without modding since it's looking for griffin.

I applaud you.!

I think no custom ROMs have supported MotoMod features yet. I'm so eager to try this ROM. It seems much more stable now. Good job,rahulsnair...:good:

How to install
To install this you have to install TWRP using by QFIL utility, follow this instruction: https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/twrp-lenovo-p8-tb-8703f-tb-8703x-t3689442/post76277192
Special TWRP build
To install and boot any custom roms and to boot it after installing mods that change boot partitition like Magisk please use this TWRP:
2018-08-25
Fixed long time to wakeup screen in TWRP
Added NTFS filesystem for sdcards
mailru: twrp-tb8703-3.2.1-20180825-bootsign.img

Previous version
[*] Первая версия
mailru: twrp-tb8703-3.2.1-bootsign.img
gdrive: twrp-tb8703-3.2.1-bootsign.img
This TWRP build has special function Sign boot which you have to click after install new version of ROM or mod like Magisk. It will append stock boot signature to your boot partition. This allows to boot with locked bootloader.
TWRP with Boot Sign function screenshots:
Fortunately you dont need to unlock bootloader, because not every Lenovo tab can be unlocked. Custom kernel and ROM can be runned by appending boot.sig signature extracted from stock rom to boot.img like
Code:
cat boot.img boot.sig > boot-signed.img
It still cant be loaded by fastboot, but you always can flash it from TWRP. You can get boot.sig in my repo https://github.com/HighwayStar/android_device_lenovo_TB8703/blob/cm-14.1/twrp/recovery/root/boot.sig

One bug I found on LOS 14.1, please look at topic from LOS 14.1, and you will see.
8703F
Hotspot doesn't work. I can turn it on but my computer and phone don't see the network; if I turn it on-off-on it causes the tablet to crash into a soft restart. It will then show 'Error'. There is no 5GHZ option when creating a hotspot. I posted this in the other thread aswell.
System/Buttons/Show arrow keys while typing doesn't work in landscape mode. They will appear in the middle of the navigation bar on top of the circle and will make the nav bar unusable.
I don't know if this is a feature, but in landscape mode if I swipe from the right end of the screen towards the center the status bar drops down.
boom! Legend! Thankyou SO much!
@highwaystar_ru has twrp been updated in OP?
I have twrp-tb8703-3.2.1-bootsign.img and cannot mount SD card
Awesome! Can't wait to flash this, gonna be so much better than Lenovo's bloatstock (and more up to date than my phone's LineageOS, to boot)
Lineage 15.1 updated
2018-08-18
Fixed MAC and long time to enable Wifi
Fixed MAC and long time to enable Bluetooth
Fixed calling with BT headset
Fixed Buttons settings
Partially fixed LED
Awesome! Thanks for the great effort!
LOS15.1 works perfectly:good: (18/8 version)
The only problem which I can find is gapp camera's shutter button shift down to the home button bar, half of the shutter button is hided.:fingers-crossed:
I get
"updater process ended with ERROR: 7
Error installing zip file "xxxxxxxxxx"
I was coming from the your 14.1 ROM - latest update from August. did a full wipe beforehand... made no difference.
Tried to dowload the file from both g-drive and mailru .. same result..
any ideas?

lineage 15.1 for lenovo yoga tab 3 plus please
I finally install Lineage OS in My Tablet. I try to install gapps version 8.1.0 ARM 64 from opengapps and then sign the boot partition after flash the gapps. System boots normally but gapps crashes constantly. Any gapps working? Or any information about how to install correctly gapps. Thanks.
**Update**
I just Wipe Data and then sign boot again. Then I configure my device and Now is Working with the Whole Google Apps and is now Android 8.1.0. Thanks for the developer for the Rom
Thanks a lot for your work on this ROM!
I've had exactly same experience with gapps crashing (MindTheGapps-8.1.0-arm64-20180223_195845.zip) as maikalex96 above. Wipe fixed the problem. Not feeling adventurous enough to try Open gapps yet.
good:
usual stuff works
WiFi 5GHz works
WiDi / Miracast, Chromecast works
Apk installations/updates are lightning fast compared to 6.0.1 stock
not so good:
bluetooth (albeit disabled) drains battery like crazy in standby - either that or andriod battery stats are not working right (WLAN, display items are not even listed)
no Dolby Atmos in LOS
some useful features removed in Oreo (google seem to be dumbing the system down) - no more WiFi band option (2.4/5), no more WiFi in standby option (on, off, charger on)
not a fan of some Oreo or LOS aesthetics
sound is not routed back to speakers after disconnecting headphones (not always)
not sure about performance, stock 6.0.1 might be a tad more responsive (touch, scrolling)
untested:
phone, lte data
sd card
That's on tb8703x.

*** Update****
So I just realised I hadn't updated TWRP to the new boot-signed version.
It won't let me do flash that via fastboot as it says " FAILED (remote: Partition flashing is not allowed " - I assume this is because my bootloader is not unlocked.
I did try using 'fasboot oem unlock" but that does not work.
I tried to use QFIL to flash the updated TWRP but it won't recognise the device on any port as obviously it is not going into stock recovery when - it is going into TWRP...
Any other ideas?
Any help is most appreciated - many thanks in advance.
*******Update #2*****
Thanks to WBN1 as below, all sorted and installed - many thanks!
Will let you know how it goes!
Many thanks again for all your hard work!
flash the updated twrp from within the old twrp. you need to tap on image when flashing so it can see the twrp.img file

Thankyou soooo much!!
Hey there, great ROM! Everything works good here. I only have one question, not directly about the ROM itself... but does anyone know if there is a version of the LOS 14.1 Trebuchet Launcher for using under LOS 15.1 ? I realy hate that new Launcher!
@highwaystar_ru i will try 3 things if i find some free time and sorry i didn't jump sooner on board.
1. Port AOSP Extended to this beauty https://www.aospextended.com/
2. Try to get an official xda forum for this tablet
3. Help you out with PR's in developing.
Great job you have done so far kudos mate.
Congratulations on the job.
any way to use otg and power at the same time? want to use the tablet in the car you need to have the power connected as well as the easycam with the recoil camera
thanks a lot

Likely this is getting the latest security updates. I think OP is the user that was building the ROM with the security updates in the the Official thread.

Fingerprint and gestures work out of the box in this rom. Try clean install if you didn't.

The on-screen buttons can be restored by adding "qemu.hw.mainkeys=0" to the build.prop file. You can use the "BuildProp Editor" app for example to do this.

I installed the ROM and seems like there is no option to enable the nav bar via configuration... Neither to configure gestures from fingerprint.

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Tnx for build.
Biggest issue now is camera, it is not working at all, even flashlight.
GPS as usual on your builds are not working as it should. Please add this fix to finally get it to work properly https://cloud.harijs.id.lv/index.php/s/Q8BkLRp8io4GYDw .
Youtube app is not working. It opens up and spins infinitely.
SMS app have issues whit reply on message, but that most likely is LOS code fault.
Otherwise it is not bad.
Amazing, thanks for the work

Try bitgapps q
Sent from my mido using XDA Labs
Alright, sooo:
It took me a while to get gapps running, the opengapps test .zip didn't let me connect to the google servers after logging in and I had constant android setup crashes.
The following gapps version was working, though: https://t.me/OnePlus6TDev/171705
I flashed the rom, booted it, rebooted into TWRP, installed gapps and Magisk and rebooted. Then I had to wait a bit until the Google Play support library got updated and I was finally able to login.
However, the connection to Google servers quit working after half an hour, no app would load anymore, I believe it was due to an update of the Play Services app. I rebooted to see if it would fix the issue, but it didn't and thus rendering the phone useless, as all Play Apps would start crashing.
I can confirm the mentioned bugs like camera not working and encryption being bugged. The small issue with battery symbol settings not being applied is also present.
The rest was working flawlessly including Trust and LiveDisplay; I was very satisfied with the overall performance of the rom and it looks like a promising start of Android 10 on this device. Featurewise it has everything I want/need and the rom only requires changes under the hood.
Thanks for taking your time to develop for this device!
Nice, thank you! Glad to see LOS 17. BTW can anyone tell me if this ROM supports exFat for the µSD card?

AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Android Lollipop, the ROM has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we became LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP and we are now based on the "Ground Zero Open Source Project" (GZOSP) for Android Pie.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the GZOSP team, if it concerns their code base. This ROM isn't GZOSP supported, so there is no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Android 10 is now Pure AOSP! For our pleasure. :victory:
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>

FAQ:
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.)
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the others section in the AICP Extras main page. <<< This way is the easiest!
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android 10. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM zip. We recommend Magisk!
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing if you're coming from a different ROM and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. Once you're on AICP you can dirty flash new builds without wiping anything, unless stated otherwise!
-----
How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
If you've got everything nice and backed up:
1. Fastboot -w (not usually necessary, this will wipe data and internal as well as format to ext4 and remove any encryption).
2. Fastboot flash boot "twrp boot.img". Use the F2FS TWRP image linked here - F2FS TWRP Boot). Reboot to recovery (on the phone).
3. In TWRP - wipe System, Data, and Dalvik. OR do a full wipe including Internal Storage, if you want to switch to F2FS and go Decrypted which is Recommended!). You'll have less hassle with dirty flashes later, but your phone may be less secure. Whichever way you look at it, its your decision!
[*]NOTE - Its recommended to format to F2FS file system at this stage before flashing ROM. However, not essential!
[*]Change filesystem: Go into Wipe > select Data > Change Filesystem > F2FS
(I believe encryption won't work if you switch to F2FS, so only do it if you're okay with that).
4. Transfer the ROM zip and the TWRP installer zip to your SDCARD.
5. Flash the ROM zip and the TWRP zip (FYI, flashing a ROM by any method will install to the opposite slot, the TWRP zip patches both slots).
6. Reboot to recovery (Reboot > Recovery), ignoring when it says "No OS Installed" (this will automatically switch slots for you).
7. Back in TWRP - transfer the latest Magisk zip to your SDCARD and flash it. (Magisk always installs to the current slot).
8. Reboot to system. It will fail to boot once because of Magisk, that's normal just let it do its thing.
9. Go through setup.
10. Enjoy the ROM!
NOTE: If coming from AICP Pie it's still recommended to make a FRESH START!
The ROM has GApps built in, so you don't need to flash them! There is no GAppless option.

Thanx bro keep testing
This is the most put together ROM for the essential phone on Android 10 that I have found. Great job. I did see in the list of features that there is supposed to be a one-handed mode I can't seem to find that anywhere. Could someone point that out where to locate it? This ROM works seamlessly with Magisk 20.2 and Viper4Android intalls without having to do a weird workaround to get its drivers going. I do get a notication that my Bluetooth isn't functioning sometimes. I go into TWRP, clean the cache and reboot. The Bluetooth warning goes away and Bluetooth works fine.

Known issue about CRT, look under "Known Issues" in the OP. Its right there.
Thanks for the Navigation screenshot I hadn't seen that, because I have no need to go there.
Currently there are no options for Navigation within AICP Q right now it seems, but you dont really need them. Just go to System - Gestures and everything you need is there, if you want more customization then use a custom Launcher like the one from Post 2. Problem solved. :good:
Thanks! Sorry I missed the CRT known issue.
Thx for the wonderul ROM. One of the best I've ever tried.
I've found 2 issues only:
-Everything is very fluent until scrolling/swiping becomes very slow for moments (seconds). It just comes and goes. It can be noticed when you try to swipe/scroll on the launcher or the notifications panel.
-It happened to me today that after using the gcam you posted for a while (in night mode) at some point the phone started to reboot every time I tried to take a photo. This issue was persistent between reboots and regardless of the camera app being used. The funny thing is that the issue disappeared after a while and then it came back. So looks like the camera needs to "cool off" after taking several pictures in a row.. weird
Again, thanks for the great work

It happens to me as well. Thing is GCam takes a lot of processing power, it also happens on stock if you start taking pictures on low battery. Phone will just die. Don't know if something that can be fixed, could be a problem with GCam itself, or something in the kernel that messes **** up and makes the phone think that it has no battery.
Only fix I could find is using nonHDR photos when phone has 30% or less battery. Non HDR photos look terrible though.

Good to know. Thanks for the tip. However in my case I still had 70% of the battery left, but it could be that I was making a very intensive use of the phone because of the low light mode.. Very strange.
So far I have been liking the ROM a lot except for one big issue: whenever I install magisk, Wifi and Bluetooth are completely disabled. Reinstalling the ROM without it fixes the issue, but now I dont have a rooted phone. Any idea what I'm missing?

EDIT: I got it working. My mistake was assuming the twrp img I used when first installing the ROM was all I needed, and I did not use the TWRP installer zip from their website. Everything is working now after actually using the installer zip.

If the touchscreen doesn't work when rebooting into recovery, press the power button twice to turn off and on the screen. The touchscreen will now work just fine.
GSIs
This LineageOS build ships with Project Treble compatibility (lite VNDK), meaning you can flash a GSI as System Image from TWRP. Please don't report GSI bugs here, report them instead to the GSI's maker. A Format Data from TWRP is required after flashing a GSI in order to avoid problems.
Technical details on our Treble implementation:
This device is a community-treble device, meaning other devs before us made it compatible with Project Treble (lite VNDK), using the oem partion as a vendor. GSIs still have some problems regarding cpu frequency scaling and camera. You have been warned.

Coming from stock pie?
For the sake of simplicity, I said that coming from stock oreo was needed. In reality you just need to flash the oreo modem files. There's a script that does exactly that, made by @juniorpassos: https://mega.nz/file/IRxjGDjL#vkdvh4JcMy-LuWgQz4rHhgpWV80029X4ql0_zcMpVug. The script will erase your userdata and cache.
Before starting this script, make sure you have a backup of your EFS partition stored somewhere safe, outside phone's internal storage. After the backup is done, you can reboot your phone into fastboot mode and start the script. Now reboot into TWRP, go into "Wipe" menu and Format Data. Now you can reboot into the ROM. If you get 0 as IMEI, or any other problem related to RIL, go into TWRP and restore the EFS backup made previously.

So how's battery? I'm not sure what does it mean:
CPU governorns have some issues. Conservative is recommended for an optimal battery life

Also if I run Oreo 8.1 ROM currently and never had Pie installed do I need anything to do before flashing this? Like upgrading firmware or something?

Regarding battery: it's quite good, it can get you through the day without any flaws. Since I'm doing frequent tests and I often hook up the phone to the computer, I don't have good screenshots to show you. Will edit the post eventually when I get some. In alternative, you can join the telegram groups and ask someone. We worked on the cpu scaling and governorns and an update will come for it soon.
Regarding firmware: no, you don't have need to update firmware, and updating it may actually cause some problems with RIL. It's perfect if you stay on the oreo firmware.

I'm tempted to give it a try and probably will next weekend but as Z2P is my main phone I want to ask few things:
1. Do fingerprint gestures work?
2. Does notification LED work?
3. Does "active display" (showing notifications and time with locked screen) work?
4. Have you tried it with Magisk? I'd prefer Magisk rather than Addon SU.

hi people, nobody is testing it?
i would like to try it, but i can't right now
battery work fine after cpu governors fix?
thanks
I tried today. ROM installs and boots fine but my SIM card is not detected at all (I live in Europe if it matters).
Also, encryption doesn't work. Every attempt to encrypt phone resulted in bootloop.
Can't say much more because without SIM I can't use it and had return to LOS 15.1
UPDATE: I tried restoring ESF partition as well as flashed stock modem as stated in #1 post but with no luck. Even tried install 15.1 first and then flash 16.0 on top of it (without full wipe/format) but it didn't help either. SIM is just not detected.
On-Screen Navigation Bar
I upgraded from the old Official Lineage 15.1 today. I am having a problem getting the navigation bar to show up (Back, Home, App). I search the settings and it hits "Enable on-screen nav bar" in the "Buttons" sub-menu, but when I go there, there is no option shown
Hi. I installed this rom a few days ago from Havoc based in 8.0 and I had to flash modem cause my imei was 0 in lineageos, after this i have signal normally but can't get H+ or 4G, only H. Another problem is that my whatsapp voices notes are recorded with low volume. All the other things work fine, battery, performance, active display, fingerprint and motorola gestures, all it's ok. Great rom!
I would like that the power off menu and quick settings can't be disables in the lockscreen. In third world it would be usefull haha.

Did you flash this modem linked in first post? I wonder what your "fastboot getvar all" shows because mine says "baseband: not found". Which is strange to me because on Oreo roms everything works. I don't know if I flashed that modem correctly.

Yeah, first issue is modem, second is audio; both things were updated and are now in testing. So keep an eye out!
And lastly, i dont think that's possible, at least on our side, it seems to be Lineage controlled

There were some issues on modem on the latest release, mostly location-related; so keep an eye out for the update!
My sim card don't work even after I flashed the moden and the .EFS backup, and the device cant connect with the pc via usb when it's turned on.
How to get an on screen navigation bar
How to get an on screen navigation bar:
1. Root phone (I used the SU addon in the OP)
2. Enable navbar with the app "Navigation bar remover/activator (root)" by Conena
3. If you want to customize the navbar use "Custom Navigation Bar" by paphonb (you can reorder buttons freely in "Expirimetal tweaks")
---------- Post added at 09:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:54 AM ----------
Does anyone know how i can disable the fingerprint gestures ?

Hey there, I was about to tell a friend to give a try to this ROM instead of phhusson's AOSP v222 to see if by any chances it could solve his trouble with NFC not working.
Therefore can we have any feedback from people here about this? So does the NFC work?
Thanks by advance
And thanks @EmaMaker and others for this work!

NFC it's not reported in the Know Issues section, hence it's a working feature
