None of the custom roms are booting - Honor 5C Questions & Answers

Hey everyone! I have a weird problem. I have rooted my Honor 5C NEM-L21 but everytime i try to flash a custom rom it gets bootlooped. I have tried multiple different roms and formatting /data as f2fs , yet have the same problem everytime that i flash a custom ROM. I have as well everytime downgraded the OS back to EMUI 4 and updated the OS to EMUI 5 but it does not help with the problem. Does anyone have any idea what might cause this problem? Thanks

Yeah, not sure what im doing wrong then. Maybe i should try to reflash the kernel after flashing the ROM. This phone is pretty painful to mod if you ask me

Try the stock kernel.I did that to make Lineage work,or you could try first to install elite rom then the rom that you want.

Tried it, no luck. Same problem
Then just use stock miui rom for some days.
If that didnt work .
Then the problem is with your battery.
Take your device to xiaomi service center near you they will fix it then.
I am also getting random reboots on all pie roms. Flashed latest miui global rom via mi flash tool, then checked with official twrp, orange fox recovery, still problem persists. Oreo roms seem to be fine.
And there is NO problem with the battery.
Dont know why this is happening...

Many Answers... But my first Question is: How do you flash Roms?
Tell us your procedure..wipe, flash, Recovery etc.
What Firmware u are using? Last is V47
I personally tried many Pie Roms for santoni. I never faced this random reboot thing since first HTC Desire lol.
Only sometimes when i tried some other Kernels. But thats a different Story. Im on AOSIP Pie for a week now with default Wizardstaff Kernel.. No random reboots.
Maybe you overclocking too long? I had random reboot when overclocking too long, so i turn in balance

I think yes, but I'm not sure
Was wondering the same thing, does anyone know if the red magic 3 is A only or an A/B device. I'm pretty sure it's A only, but I couldn't find any documentation online.
Its A only i think.
Hum... So Project Treble should work ?
That is interesting !
If I could install Resurrection Remix to this device and provided everything works it would become really almost perfect.
If anyone wants to try... If not I'll do it myself when I have time (in 2 or 3 days)...
Regards.
If the device has treble support, meaning a vendor partition it should work no problem, a/b partitioning is really not required for treble.
I tested treble using fastboot, since twrp had some issues, but it resulted in a bootloop and a corrupted recovery partition. I managed to fix it by following: https://forum.xda-developers.com/red-magic-3/help/stuck-fastboot-mode-t3937527/page9
Twrp gave me a mounting error for
/system_root, which is fixable by setting system to be read-only and then rebooting the recovery and re enableing read/write. Have not had the time to test using twrp and treble yet.
*I posted earlier in the day but managed to fix all the issues I had, so this a better summary :silly:

Well not necessarily, since I flashed the lineageos gsi through fastboot. (That may be the issue) I was having issues with twrp. I will try again today, although the chances are slim.

Word of advice. Do not attempt to flash anything on this cell. You will regret it. I tried to flash TWRP over 6 weeks ago an it's been dead ever since. Even a cellphone repair center guy could not repair it.
You need to leave good enough alone.
People all around the world have been stuck in permanent recovery screens or fastboot screens like me.
It really is a very good cell the way it is ?

Stock official ROM for x522 (snapdragon)

I'd like to go back to stock, I'm currently on lineage 15.1. What would be the best method to do so?

Flash this TWRP https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6Ig1vJFJgpobVVncTFRbjJKQUk/view
Then make a Clean Flash of the Rom
X526 5.8.19s: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=746010030569971880
X522 5.8.21s: https://www.mediafire.com/?6almos553oh0xg6

Does it have to be that particular version of twrp? Because I already have one. Also, why did you post one for a x526, my phone is a x522
darkmen10 said:
Yes, that specific one is used to install the Eui Rom Stock, another Twrp will not allow the installation.Post one of X526 because it does not matter if you have the X522 model, you can install Rom of any X52X model , I have the X520 and the roms of X522 and X526 work fine

It is because it is the rom stock. It is the last 21s. But the truth is better that you install an EUI based rom. I recommend this one based on the 5.9.26s that you can flash with the normal twrp without flashing additional things. It works very well since I tried it a while ago

Now i'm back again on April update.
So, if tou guys have any idea, of what I've to do.
Thank you.
I've been looking at all the ROMs for the Mi A2 and they all have bugs I gave up installing a rom

ok I thought so, atleast flashing disable-dmverity makes the GSI boot to rom logo but nothing beyond that, it just refuses to boot anything but the latest Stock ROM, I think its time to throw away this device (SM-M215G) into the garbage bin. Man Shamshung ruined my device, now stuck on 1UI5.1!
