Correct, go to Moto Display, tap the "More Settings" button under Moto Display and then uncheck "Approach to wake up"

That doesn't deactivate the camera button like the OP requested, it just gives you the option to long press to open.
I don't believe there is a native way to deactivate the button.

And with root?

Tasker can do that. Create a profile with event/hardware/button:camera. Set priority to high and enable "stop event".
As a action you can set for example a simple user variable without visible action.

You can try to search for some kind of configuration for that in framework-res.apk
Sent from my XT890 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
change value in build.prop
ro.mot.cambtntime=400
to another higher

How to enable knock knock to wake up phone?

Hi I have android 4.2 and i can't find the way to enable knock knock (double touch to wake phone) in settings. I saw it before but now I can't find it anymore. Can You help me?
Go to Settings > Smart Assistance > Motion Control and then enable double touch.
Sometimes you'll find that even after enabling double tap to unlock your phone doesn't unlock. I still don't know what is the reason but enabling gloves mode can help in this. (Though it is not a really good idea to keep that on because touch performance is compromised)
Ok thank you

ENABLE BATTERY PERCENTAGE IN MOTO G5 PLUS (All Moto Devices) {NO ROOT REQUIRED}

Working

Or u can use this app...
as it turns out, you need to have Dev Options turned OFF before turning UI tuner. Then you can enable it. after you see the option, you can enable dev options again
Thats how it worked in my case anyways.
I love you
Nice thing, thanx
Just looked at the video... This is great, but I don't like the number inside the battery... Too tiny to actually read. Anyone have an app to show it as a number next to the battery? My old LG had that as an option in the battery settings... I preferred that. ?

Worked even with dev options on for me though
hmmm. weird. oh well, glad its working
anyone know how to enable the % to the right of the battery instead of within it?
I've done some extensive searching and I could not find an answer. I'd imagine this is a setting in the ROM.
I am now wondering if anyone has found an app that maybe does this. Certainly some apps provide a battery indicator, but specifically one that always sits immediately to the left of the battery icon.
Good work

Thx
For those who don't have the System UI Tuner active here is how to enable it:
http://www.greenbot.com/article/3156309/android/androids-system-ui-tuner-what-it-is-and-how-to-use-it.html
First, you need to pull down the notification shade. Then, tap and hold the gear icon in the top right of the screen for a few seconds (on newer phones you’ll feel a vibration upon activation). Once you let go, the tiny cog will roll away and you’ll be taken to the Settings app and a box will appear saying, “Congrats! System UI has been added to Settings.”
To get to the menu, scroll all the way to the bottom of the settings screen. In the second-to-last spot, you’ll see a new System UI Tuner option, right above the About phone tab. Tap it and you’ll open up a set of options for tweaking the interface.

lock screen

anyone know to to keep the lock screen from coming on with just a bump or hand pass?
cant seem to find anything about it in settings. hopefully i've just overlooked it and someone can help.
thank you
err on the side of kindness
Is it the retail version? If so in the Moto app go to features (right side tab) > Moto display > Moto display option and turn that off, or if you still want the notifications to fade in and out tap on the Moto display option and at the bottom turn off "approach to wake up"

Icons on Active Display

Many icons do not appear on my phone's active display (for example, missed calls or text messages). I don't know what to try anymore. Do you have any ideas? Thank you all

Same on my Mi 9 lite, only clock work ?
AOD is very bad. Updating to V11 does not solve the problem. At least the status bar notifications already work. I solved the problem with the perfect app from the play store. "Always On Edge - Edge Lighting".

the standard Active screen displays only: missed calls, messages, facebook messenger, vatsap. Need to install a new version of the application 1.9
