Yes .. flash without removing Magisk as we do not want to setup Magisk again.
We will reflash Magisk during installation.
Please follow given sequence of flash .. Rom - Decrypt - Magisk :good:

Please follow the steps as in first post.
You should have TWRP along with Stock rom which you have I believe.
Download the 3 files mentioned in first post - ROM + Decrypt + Magisk and keep them in storage.
Reboot to TWRP and flash files in below seqeunce -
Stock_X00T_Patch_May_Version_309_TWRP.zip
decrypt.zip
Magisk-v16.0.zip
Do not wipe anything in TWRP before or after installation .. do not uninstall Magisk or anything else.
Just flash the files are reboot.

Other than the changes to the update script, are there any other changes you have done? The script output in twrp says 'patching system image that is modified by ....."
So I am wondering if you made changes to the system.img file too?

No changes .. it is just for testing .. I have not created the entire ROM so I mentioned this is Guide section and not the ROM development section.
Also the new file I have updated has no such message but just a message to identify the ROM change. You must have the old version which was there on Sunday.

Also who made the new zip? I am interested in finding out what changes are being made if any other than the updater script.

New zip name - Stock_X00T_Patch_May_Version_309_TWRP.zip
As already mentioned, the message was put just to let me know if the flashed file is changed one or original one from Asus.
I am taking Asus original rom and doing modification in update-script and if needed will make changes to boot.img (replacing with old boot image from Asus) and any other file to keep Magisk+TWRP to be working after update. I test the update for some time and then share it with all.
I will mention any substantial changes if any (for v309 no changes are there).
I have no intention to change what Asus has provided.
Purpose is to provide stock tested firmware for easy update at one stop .. and an easy way for people to come back to stock ROM.

You will get update notifications .. no issue. But the update will not flash if you have TWRP and Magisk.
I will provide TWRP flashable file (after testing) in this thead in future. So expect the update within 48 hrs after new update (full ROM for the OTA) is relased by Asus.
To flash OTA there is an excellant guide HERE you can follow that to flash OTA (i.e. delta file). In this thread you can get full file.

Safestrap Flashable HDX Stock Images

Here you can find stock firmware for both thor and apollo devices which are safestrap flashable.
Please note the following:
- These updates do NOT flash a new kernel or recovery - only a new /system image
- Before flashing ensure you know which stock base/kernel/safestrap you have installed and choose the appropriate version for that stock base/kernel.
- Do NOT use these images to downgrade or upgrade your base firmware.
I will be uploading them as and when I have time.
Thor Images:
- 13.3.1.0 <- Flashable on Safestrap 3.7.2
- 13.3.2.6 <- Flashable on Safestrap 3.7.5
*** THESE ONES DO NOT HAVE ROOT OR BLOCK UPDATES ***
- 13.4.5.2 <- Flashable on Safestrap v4.0.1
Apollo Images:
- 14.3.1.0 <- Flashable on Safestrap 3.7.2
- 14.3.2.6 <- Flashable on Safestrap 3.7.5
*** THESE ONES DO NOT HAVE ROOT OR BLOCK UPDATES ***
- 14.3.2.8 <- Flashable on Safestrap v3.7.5
- 14.4.5.2 <- Flashable on Safestrap v4.0.1
If you want to re-enable over the air updates then do the following:
- Skip this if you are using the 4.5.2 files - As stated above this does not apply so be careful.
- rename /system/etc/security/otacert.old to otacert.zip
- rename /system/app/com.amazon.dcp.old to com.amazon.dcp.apk

Excellent! I am able to revert back to this stock firmware after nearly bricking my device. Thank you!!
Since I"m heavily tied into the Amazon ecosystem and have other Kindle devices, installing HDX Nexus 2.01 didn't work for me.
However, thanks to @ggow, using the same upgrade guide, Iwas able to get my 3.1.0 to 3.2.6, allowing my fire hdx devices to finally be able to do screen sharing with my fire TVs! I did have to restore /data, enable xposed + hdxposed, re-install kindlefree + Google play store APKs & stucks wallpaper fix to be back at 100%...
Will you make a pre rooted 4.5.1 image for the HDX 7.0 Thor?
Can I flash this over a Stock 4.5.1 device?

As of right now, it's impossible to root 4.5.1.
No, you can't flash them over a newer version just like that. If you want to downgrade, check this thread.
Hey @ggow, would it be possible for you to release a rooted 14.3.2.6?

Hi _Alex_, yes I'll sort one out for you.

I goofed - flashed the apollo zip over my already properly up(down)graded stock. Now of course I get a blank screen when trying to boot the stock - not that I do it that often of course. I can still get into safestrap and boot the nexus 2.01 rom with no issues so am okay for now. Would I need something like a rooted 14.3.2.6 to fix this?
aren't these roms very old? Is there any way to get the latest AMAZON STOCK apps AND keep root? I really like the FIRE OS (way more than stock Android) but I also want all apps etc.

Was screen sharing to Fire TV not available on 13.3.2.3.2? Furthermore, what exactly does 13.3.2.6 offer that's new/improved? Does anyone have the changelog for this?
OK, so the LATEST FIRE OS Version that is rootable is "13.3.2.6" for the THOR device, is that correct? Or is there any other way to root a newer OS Version?´
Oh, and how can I flash this update? My device is rooted, but I have a very old OS Version on my kindle hdx.
Hey guys.. I screwed up.
I have a fire hdx Apollo that had been properly up(down)graded and running fine with 2.01. For some reason (and my lack of understanding the correct versions of things) I thought it would be a good idea to install the Apollo update on my stock rom. This of course has now caused boot loops on my stock boot but not my 2.01 boot.
Would love to be able to restore the stock as I do use some of the fire's capabilities from time to time. Sadly I did not do a backup before the update (kicks self furiously).
I DO have a backup from before the upgrade/downgrade so maybe I could restore that then push through the upgrade steps again or something. I'm worried that I will bork my safestrap or do something worse based on my proclivity for damage and chaos.

Looks like we're going to need it with the new bootloader bypass!
Just to clarify because someone asked, users of the HDX Nexus ROM would need it to downgrade to a firmware that the unlock works on.

Hi @ggow !
I made a flashable zip of the 4.5.2 update for Thor which is compatible with the signing exploit (bootloader/fw flashing removed and modified bootimage with happened dt) as there was some demand.
I'm not sure i should again create a thread for this rom(s) as we may be easily lost. Maybe all our "stock/modified stocks" roms should be in the same thread. What do you think about this ? Here is the link in case : http://android.mydedibox.fr/hdx/update-kindle-13.4.5.2_user_452004120-twrp.zip
Note that i only renamed "otacert.zip" to "otacert.old" on this rom as the "dcp" apk name has changed and i don't remember how i fixed that ... so ota updates may still be enabled isnt it ?

I don't know if it's the problem but the appolo recovery is based on an older kernel (3.1.0?) which doesn't have full selinux support. This prevented some zip to be properly flashed (at least on thor) until i use the 4.5.2 kernel sources. Unfortunately we will have to wait for @ggow to receive his new device, in the hope of an exploitable one (but this may be a different problem)
Edit : oups, you are on thor so it's not the problem !

Yes that's fine, I'll put your 4.5.2 image up on the same thread - no point replicating things
On 4.5.2 I wasn't sure which services needed to be disabled to prevent OTA. I'll add a note for this file to warn people to be careful when using it.

[Stock][Lollipop 5.0.2][Root & Recovery][LB/UB] D6502/03 23.1.A.1.28 | Complete Guide
Dear friends,
AsI have already given the complete guide and necessary files to install the pre rooted Lollipop 5.0.2 with the build number 23.1.A.0.726 for both the D6502/6503 variants, now I'm here with the pre rooted latest release of 5.0.2 Lollipop with build number, 23.1.A.1.28
For those who who don't know about the previous post with the pre rooted lollipop of 23.1.A.0.726 for D6502/6503 variants installation guide, can go through this link.
This method is for both Locked and Unlocked Bootloaders . It includes root and XZDual recovery 2.8.15
Requirements
Download the proper flashable zip from below links.
1. Flashable zip of 23.1.A.1.28 for D6502 variant
2. Flashable zip of 23.1.A.1.28 for D6503 variant
Steps to install pre rooted 23.1.A.1.28 firmware.
1. Download the proper D6502/6503 flashable zip from the link given above.
2. Copy the flashable zip into external sd card.
3. Boot your phone into recovery (TWRP is recommended)
4. Flash the zip.
5. Clear Cache/Dalvik and reboot!
6. The first boot may take some time. (No need to flash ftf for kernel. This time I have included the kernel with the zip itself)
That's all!! check your root with this application from playstore. Its a free application only. (Credits to the developers)
Steps for those Non rooted users
It doesn't matter, whether you are in .726 or .28 firmware. All you need is just follow all the steps given below.
1. First goto this thread.
2. Download the first five files from that thread.
3. Follow upto the 19th step.
3.1 Among that 19 steps, the 5th step needs a modification.
5. Copy the flashable.zip to your external sd card and remember the location, where its been copied. And, Switch off your phone
Here you have to copy the above given 23.1.A.1.28 flashable zip.4. After the 19th step, just flash the flashable_65XX_23.1.A.1.28.zip file. (XX refers your variant i.e. 6502/6503)
5. Clear Cache/Dalvik.
6. Reboot the phone.
Congrats!! you have installed the pre rooted Lollipop 5.0.2 with the build number 23.1.A.1.28 for your Xperia Z2, D6502/6503.
The complete guide for root your Xperia Z2 with the newest firmware lollipop 5.1.1 (23.4.A.0.546) is available in this thread.

Yep, if you are already rooted you just need to install custom recovery and then flashed this one that is already pre rooted and that has recovery already. To install recovery in an easy way you just need to download XZ Recovery apk you just need to tap intall recovery and if everything goes right it will reboot into recovery, remember that after you flash the rom you need to wipe dalvik and cache.
Thanks
Flashable zip of 23.1.A.1.28 for D6502 variant which region. Another question, if I flashed the zip, would my data and config and all stuff remain untouched?
very good
thanx it works :fingers-crossed: also make sure to check the APPSLOG, CACHE and DATA under wipe section on step 8 or bootloop will happen (it did for me)

Flashable zip of 23.1.A.1.28 for D6502 variant which region. Another question, if I flashed the zip, would my data and config and all stuff remain untouched?

The D6502 is based on Indian customization. And don't worry. Nothing will be changed. Everything remains solid.

Anyone know what's in the Verizon Update pushed on 4/12? OTA XT1096

I'm wondering if it's worth it. Version 23.201.2.en.us
I'm not sure, but here it is:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12873062/Blur_Version.23.201.2.victara_verizon.verizon.en.US.zip
Is there a way to flash this onto a rooted phone? I unlocked my XT1096 a couple of months ago and installed Teamwin then flashed SuperSU.
I need some help on this too. I heard it's just a security update but it fails for me because I'm rooted and deleted a bunch of apps. Is there any way to take the OTA update?

To take the ota you have to reflash the full 5.1 firmware for verizon.
You can't have root nor a modified sytem for OTAs to work. So you need back all those apps you removed and get rid of root.

I've put together a debloated TWRP flashable version. It's here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66354183&postcount=1057
Please review the first post in that thread as the ROM is partially debloated and has SuperSU and Xposed pre-installed. GApps have been removed and you need to install your own. It is possible with the files posted to have a full stock install but you'll need the instructions from that thread to accomplish that.

Which of these files would I want to flash, if I'm running stock firmware (rooted with SuperSU flashed)? The update from Verizon is ~20 MB, but you have a 30MB modem firmware and 398K bootloader.

Ok, those files are for the stock based rom that I maintain. You need to read the first post in that thread to understand what it is. SuperSU and Xposed are preinstalled, GApps are removed and you have to install your own. If you want a full stock install, that is also possible with the files posted, it's all explained there.
The file sizes are different because the Verizon patch has some full files like gpt.bin and fsg.mbm but the rest is just small patches to apply to the exisiting files. The first thing the Verizon patch does is check that you have the correct original files and if not, it aborts; you can't apply the patch if you've modified system by installing SuperSU, etc. My patches have the gpt.bin update seperate for ease of putting the files together, the firmware has the fsg.mbm file from the Verizon patch and then the full modem partition from my phone after applying the patch instead of just the patch files. That way the patches can be applied no matter what is on your phone now but they are much larger files.

Thanks mikeoswego. I flashed the two smaller files you provided using TWRP. Are those the only 2 zip files I need? I didn't see anything specific to a kernel or anything.
I am on rooted stock rom where I deleted a bunch of apps I didn't want.

It turns out that when I flash the two .zip files, my Moto X still thinks there is a system update available. Is there something else I'm supposed to flash?

The two smaller zips are the bootloader and modem firmware, the rom and kernel are in the xt1096-5.1-23.32-25-5-2_1.zip file. You could extract the boot.img file from the zip and flash it with fastboot. If you want the full ROM and want to flash SuperSU yourself and remove whatever bloat yourself, then use xt1096-full-stock-23.32-25-5-2.img.7z file; you can flash the image file within that archive with current versions of fastboot. (Or, using 7zip, you could delete the system.img file from xt1096-5.1-23.32-25-5-2_1.zip then rename the .img file in xt1096-full-stock-23.32-25-5-2.img.7z to system.img and place it in xt1096-5.1-23.32-25-5-2_1.zip. Then you would TWRP flash that, it would update your kernel (boot.img) and install the system partition just as if you took the OTA on the stock system.) Like AGISCI said above, the only way to use the OTA directly is on an unmodified stock system.
Forgive me, I'm not really following you. I don't know what's in the OTA exactly. Is there anything in your post that I can flash that will update my system to the latest version without wiping everything and starting from scratch?

You must flash the full firmware like was mentioned earlier. It is impossible to do the update with a modified system.

I'm wondering if there is a way to not take the update. I keep getting a nag message about installing the update and I keep pushing reminder out to a new time.
A little background. I have a XT1096 (Verizon version) and unlocked the bootloader and rooted. I also nuked a bunch of bloatware so there is no way that a OTA update will install. I'm not sure that I really want to go back to stock and start over.
I flashed the system .img file and it just updated my system without wiping anything. Seems to be working fine, but I had to reflash SuperSU.

I found a way to not take the update. Use your favorite applications manager for root to freeze MotorolaOTA and the update won't be downloaded and you won't get messages about installing the update.

THANK YOU!!! After being stuck on vacation for a week with this !#@[email protected]#$ update bugging me to install it every couple of minutes this fix stopped the problem.

[Z2Pro] Zui 2.5.462 OTA (Nougat) full rom+firmware update (Magisk+Xposed work !)

Hi !
This is a backup of the latest OTA of ZUI by Zuk/Lenovo, already configured in english, chineses apps uninstalled, and playstore/google services installed.
Magisk root and unofficial Xposed-Magisk for Nougat work on this rom !
(I've tested Youtube Adaway, Youtube background, Lucky Patcher, Adblocker reborn, it's working well)
Your not need to do a wipe, and you can keep your data if you come to 2.5.435 ZUI rom ! But you have obligation to install boot & firmware, because latest OTA by zuk upgrade both !
[Quick Charge is disabled by default when the screen is on, look the screen capture, it's normal, this is a new setting come with this latest OTA, you can change that on developper settings ! ]

The ROM is flashable with TWRP ? If I come from custom ROM (AEX) I'll need to do a full wipe or I'll need to flash via a PC ?
Is there any chance of multilanguage for this rom?

I don't know how to merge XML translation into rom, sorry.
After receiving OTA update to 462 ST, SOT is reduced to 4 hours of moderate usage (usually 5-6 hours).. Phone temperature is a bit warmer, standby temp usally 27 C, now is 32 C, charging temp is around 37 C.. It's a thin phone, you can feel when the temperature is going up..
Is the OTA update works in this rom? In System Update app I have info: "Your system has been root, we are unable to provide the latest version of the system"
ZUI OTA doesn't support unlocked bootloader, rooted or not the phone just shows this message when the bootloader is unlocked...
Hello, someone has already gained some experience about this Rom, is there anything you should know? Thank you
Anyone can help making this rom multilanguage?
Is francko76 the only one who can help us, or can anyone ask the creator of AEX?
how exactly do I install this? after many attempts I managed to get it, thanks for this
2nd edit: does the 5ghz WiFi work on this rom?

in play store

You just have to put the files in your twrp backup folder. Make a backup yourself in order for the folder to be created and then with a file manager replace your files with the files of this backup. After that just restore it with twrp

Dude, what did I just say? I DON'T KNOW.
I'm sure it will work, but it may take you off your official upgrade path.
And with no fastboot file available for your current software version, I would take a full TWRP backup and copy to pc for safekeeping before trying anything.

I'm going to buy my z2 play bike at the end of the year and it's a shame not to have an updated lite rom. Probably you should be doing a good job.
It would be nice to have a rom lite for ALL MODEL with deodex, delete more apps OTA / CCC / CCE, OTA process is deleted, remove a lot of the background services collect and send data on the type of phone (DropBox, MotoCare , MotoConntect, Drive and etc).

Updated the OP with the latest retail build NPSS26.118-19-11.
Unlike most carrier unlocked moto devices, which tend to have multiple upgrade paths for different regions, the albus seems to have only one upgrade path for the retail variant so far.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, and please post the OTA files for alternate upgrade paths if you have them; directions are in the OP.
I have linked the tools I use to create these at the bottom of the OP.
You can use these tools and info in their threads to reverse engineer the stock build and modify it to your liking.

The file name structure doesn't have anything to do with the date it was made afaik.
That update is for "albus_c" and not "albus". I'm not sure what the difference is.
Apparently, there are multiple upgrade paths after all.
Flashing this will likely take you off your current upgrade path, but it is safe, so you can always go back to your previous stock build if you want.

Thanks @Q9Nap!
I've attempted to follow your instructions about applying OTA via TWRP, but that fails because of mismatching thumbprint - which sounds odd since I've downloaded and attempted to flash on exactly the same device...
