Note 9 glass to frame flushness. - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Not sure how else to put it. The top and bottom part frame to glass edges, they don't seem to be flush. Resulting in not so friendly edges digging into pinky finger. Won't be an issue with s case but thought I'd mention it. As I'm currently using it nekid.

Same. But I'm about to put a slickwraps on it, we'll see then.

I think it's an intentional design to slightly help with minimizing screen breakage. Which is pretty cool.

Looking for a good bumper tpu case

As the title says looking for a tpu bumper case. Preferably with the buttons cut out.
Seems to be a ton of aluminum ones but true bumper style (no back) seem few and far between. Especially without the stupid antenna hole

Wow. A VERY helpful post.
And, out of curiosity, what, precisely, is so unreasonable or absurd about his request? Namely, a TPU bumper without an antenna cutout (an antenna which apparently is ONLY available in tiny little Korea and nowhere else in the world) with button cutouts (a preference but apparently not a requirement from the looks of his post)?

If the buttons lined up fine and doesn't need a whole lot of pressure to work the buttons vs uncovered I wouldn't mind. But a few of the cheap cases don't line up and make it more difficult.
But I spent over an hour the other night and I think I found 1 maybe 2. But they didn't do much for me.

why not just find a TPU case that you like and bust out the scissors?

That antenna is available in other countries also, like Japan. Not just Korea (not sure if the antenna is even used in Korea.) Don't assume and then post as a fact.
I never called his idea or desire absurd as you say, I just know it doesn't exist.
I've spent hours looking for a decent tpu bumper. I've purchased 2 and they are terrible. A good tpu bumper does not exist for the note 2. That's why I called it a unicorn.
I would sincerely like to know if he finds this item, since I would like one also.

I tried it and it was a failure. Lol A designed/molded one has a finished edge on the lip. This keeps it somewhat rigid and adds strength. When I cut one it got all floppy and flimsy. Didn't work well.

Yeah, I'm slightly worried about that too, but if you think you'll be dropping it, a heavy duty case will likely serve you better. I use a case to avoid scratches and not really for drop protection, which seems to fall in the realm of luck/bad luck.

Good point. I had a tpu case on my gs3 and it was enough protection. Until I ran it over with a pallet jack. I just want a little protection. I have the heavy duty case from cruzerlite at the moment. But wanted to try something else

I believe it's only in a white/black hybrid. It's not terrible looking on the grey note 2, but I do often go for black cases if given a choice.

Deal Alert Moko cases in black 5.99 Amazon

Both the slim-fit multi angle and the ultra slim smart-shell is on sale for 5.99 with free shipping if you have amazon prime or orders over 25. Ordered both with the ravpower wifi-disk...will try my hands on a video review of all three when they come in.

I've been on the fence about the smart shell 'cause I don't usually like cases with the front flap... but at $15 including next day shipping (Prime rocks), it's worth a try.
Don't bother ordering if you're in the UK:

I hate how the metal plate could potentially come into contact with the screen. You grab it wrong and could push the flap sliding it over the screen, the metal plate will scratch the gorilla glass.

Yeah there concerns about that. Some use plastidip. I think I'm going to remove the metal plate and wrap the part that would come in contact with the screen with electric tape
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
Or a screen protector would help too right? I'm gonna have to find my can of plastidip! If there's real friction though the dip will probably just peel right off and scratch the glass

I mentioned in another thread that the plastidip company now makes a primer that supposedly makes it stick better to metal. You might try that if you are worried about peeling...

I opted for the genuine leather version of the Moko slim fit multi angle case. Absolutely perfect! Very nicely finished, fits beautifully, looks great. Opening for Pogo charger (stitched all around too). A bit more than the PU leather version, but it is very nice for $21.

This can't be true. It would depend on so many factors such as the specific metal, the shape of the metal where it comes into contact (a point, an edge, a curve..), the force of contact, etc. Gorilla glass isn't some mystical impervious material.

Just received my ultra-slim Moko. For $6 it's nice but I really wouldn't recommend it for a few reasons.
1) As mentioned before, the metal piece on the cover could potentially come in contact with your screen and scratch it.
2) When closed, the cover slides around. This is very obnoxious when you are walking around with your tablet in one hand. Basically, if you hold it vertical, the cover slides up while the tablet slides down from its weight. Over time this is just going to get worse as the cover loosens.
3) I'm having lots of trouble making it stand up in both positions and stay put. The triangle fold does not hold, I think due to poor choice of the size of each edge of the triangle. Maybe with time it will get better but it hasn't so far.
Overall this thing is just flimsy, although it does look and feel nice to the touch.

Zagg curved screen protector has a line going down the screeen

So I just got the Zagg screen protector yesterday from best buy. looks really good and fits really well with the defender Otterbox case. one thing i noticed later on when watching videos is where the screen curves near the edge there is a line that runs down the side right in the middle if the curve on both sides. Not a super big problem but once i noticed it, kinda is annoying. when doing everyday things you wont see it but when in landscape and the screen is a bright color it will stand out. Anyone else have this screen protector and can verify if theirs has the same problem? ill try and get a picture when i can get hold of another phone.
Can you at least post a picture? This is too long to read.
Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
I contacted zagg and they said it's adhesive on the curved part on the screen and that's what's making that line. As I said in my post when I can I will post a picture.
I think all curved protectors have that line on the very edges. Its the adhesive ( since no glass protectors are full adhesive coverage ). My Zizo Bolt screen protector does the same. Still looks/ feels great even with the faint line and I wouldn't dare run without a protector lol
And it's hard to post a pic because the line is so faint.
Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Ya not a big deal. Just thought the line was odd. So far loving everything about this phone.
And that's why they usually paint the edges black.
On another note it maybe more prevalent on the zaggs because they use a stronger adhesive and it's slightly thicker
Well what is nice is that there is no Halo effect on the screen protector like there was on the note 5. That was terrible and collected so much crap in it.
Yup no halo. I'm not using the zagg but I'm sure the zizo tgsp is of equal quality. Thank god they didn't do black edges!

How do you like your Zizo Bolt case, the screen protector and the holster so far?
I am considering ordering it, but not sure about the glass. Is the adhesive on all 4 sides or just the top and bottom?
Thx

The adhesive is on all 4 sides. The way they designed it to cut around the earpiece and cameras, it's completely sealed against dirt which is awesome. I've used the bolt case on a few phones and love them. They hold up well against drops.

I got the zagg glass for my note 8 I guess it will work but wish there was a better option, screen just doesn't look as good as other glass screen protectors. I think I would even be happier with one that just ended before the curve and be really thin ... I wish i looked at the forums a bit more for the price the whitestone is looking like a better option the more i look at the phone , such a great looking screen before the zagg got put on, the full glued on ones look so much better with not fuzzy lines on each side. I wonder if i got the LOCA glue and used with the zagg would make it look better then it does now. ugh hate wasting money .... dam you Samsung and your curved edges lol
I'm really liking the Zagg Glass Curve. Extremely easy install; Case friendly; No screen sensitivity issues at all. Looks great!
The Zagg Curve has been improved immensely over what they provided for the S*+. Thicker, nor more loose edges with dust getting under the screen. I have just one complaint.
The dot matrix drives me nuts outdoors, when the phone is off and if the screen isn't up bright enough to make it disappear.
yeah ive used it for two days outside so far and the dot matrix is driving me nuts , also the little gap makes a huge glare and takes away from clarity when out side

Whitestone dome glass is better, it's a pain in the rear to install but it offers full adhesive layer instead of just the top and sides without the dot matrix of the zagg.

Well I got it and do like it. It is not rubbery as I thought it would be, it is smooth plastic and is a bit slick but does improve on the grip of the Note quite a bit. I may add a thin strip of electrical tape to the sides.
Went on with no trouble but nice and snug. Buttons are actually easier for me to use with the case on then bare. Bottom port holes are pretty deep so may have an issue with some connectors - a right angle headphone jack might have trouble.
It appears that it will offer good protection from drops but nothing for screen scratches so I put on a screen protector as well,
.
several good reviews in the general/generic note 8 forum.

It does not look like a scratch to me.
Scratches usually tend to show as a multicoloured line due to the LED below the display glass, that is a Black line that looks like a bit of lint / dust that got under the screen protector, possibly during application or slipped into a part that is not totally sealed around the protector.
