LPDDR5 or PLDDR4X? UFS2.1 or UFS3.0? - Sony Xperia 1 II Questions & Answers

does anyone know if X1 II will have LPDDR5 or PLDDR 4X, UFS2.1 or 3.0?

Take with a grain of salt but what I heard from someone right after announcement is that for some country/region there is version(s) with down graded RAM and memory both in terms of size and type. So some country might have LPDDR4X and/or UFS2.1.

Ufs 3.0 and ddr5

Thanks! :good:
Some sites report UFS 2.1 though.
I guess GSMARENA is a more competent source.

Welcome
Most sites copy paste without any confirmation
But now after everything, they must change the wrong info

sony has even been lazy to make different hardware for 1sim and dualsim Xperia XZ Premium; they just sold Dualsim devices flashed with a single sim device and one sim card tray; you could just buy another sim card tray, flash dualsim FW and use 2 sims in your device.
100% true.
I doubt they will suddenly save pennies like Samsung by making 100500 different hw versions for different markets.

New Phone Renders.

Hello,
Here are a few new renders Ive done for you guys.
This one is based on the Touch HD + the Zune HD, It has the snapdragon processor (1.3), 4gb onboard memory with MicroSD expansion (up to 32gb i believe?) g-sensor, HD FM radio, GPS, plus the usual items found on today's phones, and boasts a WVGA screen and 5mp Camera. Runs either Android Or WM6.5 (not dual booting, ^.^) and not seen in the render but has two external speakers (on the side) for better music and speakerphone quality.
Anyway, enough talk, heres the photos!

No, if you add one good feature, you have to take out another good feature. At least that's what it seems like they do.
love that triColour theme where can I dl it?

I´m sure they are!
Looks sweet.
I wish HTC would release some phones with nice graphics on, like your wings - swirls - etc.
One thing to remember is all phones now have to have a home and a back key
Hello
Wow thats awesome man pretty cool i love it,,,,,

HTC Legally required to update..

Hey guys
I have been doing research ever since HTC announced they were cancelling lollipop and remembered when I got the phone, opened the box first thing I saw was a card stating "Two years of updates". Does anyone else remember this card/still have it as I am planning to take a a case to HTC on false advertising.
I bought the phone in september 2014.. i don't remember this card but i'm sure that they just don't care about update for a non flagship phone ..
Will have a look but don't remember seeing one
Sent from my HTC One mini 2 using xda premium
See image below....confirmed that the htc one range gets two years updates as part of advantage

Well then post this images on twitter .. and tell htc that they don't follow their own speak ...
Isn't that for USA only ? Though updates apply anywhere but was the Mini 2 sold in USA ?

The HTC One Remix is the Verizon variant of the One mini 2. So yeah, it must be updated. And HTC Advantage isn't USA only, HTC's Indian site also showcases it.

That's the only notable difference(despite the obvious radio change) ..... Otherwise everything else is the same

I think that is important difference.
You can find more information here https://source.android.com/compatibility/5.0/android-5.0-cdd.pdf
Looking at the linked PDF 1GB should be enough. Screen is normal and cpu is 32 bit. CM12 runs fine apart from camera and audio glitches.
Thread closed, no obvious point continuing conjecture.
Whatever HTC appeared to promise, or not, updates for however long may not necessarily imply updates to Lollipop. Updates ad infinitum could mean KitKat updates and mini-updates etc.

No HD in Amazon Prime Video?

Amazon Prime Video only offers SD video streaming/downloading to me (new 8.0" model SM-T719, latest firmware).
Is this a common issue to the Galaxy Tab S2 or is there any known workaround (like the modified Netflix APK that is circulating here)?
I'm confused because various XDA members report successful HD playback with older Samsung tablets..
Thanks!

I get HD (720P) on mine. As do I on Netflix. No idea what the problem could be here. Maybe it's a regional restriction?
Do you have the SM-T719 ("2016 model" with Qualcomm chip) or the older one with Exynos chip?
Thanks!
Screenshot below to illustrate what I mean -- do you get the message that "HD purchases will play in SD on this device" or does it actually offer to play in HD?

I have the 719.
Check your connection speed with a 'net speed checker - some of these places "auto-tune" their delivery to match your download speeds (to stop whiners complaining about buffering and stutter).
My TV does the same if the connect speed drops below 10 MBits... (But I found a way to ensure it connects at the max (for the distance) of about 32)
Not saying it IS the cause... but you could rule it out by doing a check.

Is Redmi 9 connecting (seeing) Wi-Fi 5GHz networks?

Hi everyone,
I am about to purchase this phone, but I couldn't see the "ac" standard under WiFI (it is on gsmarena, but not on the local reseller website). Can someone confirm (or not) that Redmi 9 can (or can't ) connect to 5GHz networks via WiFi?
Thank you!
According to the official Website. Yes, it's support 5G wifi.

Thanks! I also went on mi.com and saw that, but I was wondering if anyone actually tested this.
Oh well, I guess I'll see tomorrow if it does, I took the risk and ordered it yesterday (green version).
I'll come back with a definite answer.

After some testing, I can now confirm that Redmi 9 connects to 5G WiFi network, and has a high speed ( 280 Mbps). This matches the results from a 2 year old flagship, that's good enough for me.
not in the Indian version
It does support 5Ghz wifi but not in India. Everywhere else it does.

Question HK S21 Version Samsung Keyboard

Hello,
is it possible to switch the HK Version of the Samsung Keyboard to the EU (german) Version, that i can use Keyscafe?
I got the SM-G9980.
Yes, go to Settings, General Management, Samsung Keyboard Settings, Language and types, Manage input languages then search for Deutsch.
The problem is, i got an SM-G9980 snapdragon Hongkong-Version.
I switched the language to Deutsch, but i can't use Keyscafe, because the layout stays in china/HK.
Keyscafe doesn't work with china/HK-layout.
Ended up switching for Gboard since the SM-G9980 factory keyboard was a piece of **** that occupied half the screen.

Why not resize?
I also have an HK version, but Keys Cafe doesn't work for me when I customize the effects or change some layout.

You can't resize below a certain point, and that's still way too much I like for a keyboard.

My Taiwan model was not usable at first, but I changed the area code to HK, and then it became usable. Maybe you want to check CSC

After my test, keyscafe of model 9980 chc and bri are not available, but tgy (hongkong) is available
For those that weren't aware I remember a very big thread about this on the Note 20 U forums. Last I remember the stock Samsung keyboard couldn't be changed to the one that is on the non CH or HK models.
