EOL and therefore no longer planned
Fix build issues (instead of using the workaround)
Fork tissot tree
Fix USB Tethering / Android Auto
Update firmware
Compare Proprietary Vendor files with original Xiaomi build
Improve documentation (flashing guides, signature verification), @everyone: you can help!
Webseed a torrent mirror

Ask @abhinavagrd_1129 how I can help to make 17.1 go official
Become a part time official maintainer
In case this won't work, provide unofficial OTA updates
Update kernel

Great work. Why don't you submit it to official?? Even if you don't have time or dont want to bring it up to 17.1, at least the automatic builds of los16 would be up. The ROM was rock stable and the only bug was android auto broken. Pleae do consider this humble request.

I was asking them what would be needed to be accepted as a maintainer, they told me to fix the USB tethering issue and port to 17.1. I am not saying, that I will never do so, but I do not want to promise anything as of now.

Nice, long live the code!!!

I look forward to you fixing the USB Tethering.

Take your time but we would love to see mi a1 on the official roster of lineage 17.1. The final decision is ours. Whatever you are going to give to the community we will appreciate.

Probably yes, but I did not try.

@Beneter You say you use nanodroid. Does that mean your ROM supports signature spoofing out of the box?

USB tethering
I looked at the difference between LineageOS for Tissot and Mido.
Mido has "TARGET_KERNEL_VERSION := 3.18" set in BoardConfig.mk but Tissot doesn't. Maybe the USB will work if "TARGET_KERNEL_VERSION := 4.9" is set in the same file for Tissot? I don't have good enough PC or Internet to try and build, but maybe that would be a solution?

Thanks for reviving this rom!
Just wondering, is the AudioFX problem going to be fixed? It stops processing the audio after several minutes of phone usage.
I use Viper4Android atm because AudioFX is sucks in several Pie roms, including LOS 16. It worked well in LOS 17.1 though.

thank God. thank u. great work
i was on last los16 official everything good but from last week google play services downloads official rom ota packages and consume my 1.5-2gb data and if i disable PlayServices data with AFWall i'm unable to use YouTube. i haven't understand why PlayServices download official ota on custom Roms this happens to me on AEX Rom many times if rom on latest patch then everything fine
you've done brilliant job.

one request please make a mirror like androidfilehost.com i'm unable to download it from GDrive everytime it stops after downloading 200-300mb and then failed and doesn't support resume

No, this is 100 % vanilla LineageOS as of now. I am pretty satisfied by the NanoDroid Patcher.
I would be able to provide a second build with signature spoofing enabled (in restricted mode), but this would cause a small amount of additional effort.
@everyone: Small poll - If you are interested in an additional signature spoof build (only really needed for MicroG) press thanks on this post. I will probably implement it if we reach five people.

Wow, thanks for your support! I will definitely look into this soon, but I have to be sure that there are no unintended side effects.
As I was never using USB Tethering nor Android Auto I am not sure how to test it

Hmm... that sounds a lot like https://gitlab.com/LineageOS/issues/android/-/issues/1628. If you can please add your experience there as a comment and try to include a logcat. As of now I think this might be device independent. Because this seems to be fixed in 17.1 I will not look into it, sorry.

Huh, that sounds really annoying.
I was looking for the best hosting provider before and a lot recommended GDrive and discouraged the usage of AFH. I do not really want to maintain a mirror by myself, except maybe I will start to webseed a torrent.
@everyone: As far as you do not change the files itself (including filename), please feel free to host a mirror and post it here.
In case you are downloading from a mirror you should definitely verify the signature.

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q)What phone variants are supported?
A)Mi Max with SD650 (hydrogen) is supported by me and NOT Mi Max SD652 (helium).
So helium users are not suggested to flash this.
Q) Is VoLTE supported?
A) Yes
Q) Where are Developer options?
A) Go to Settings > About phone, and press five times on Build number.
Q) How can I enable root access?
A) Go to Settings > Developer options > Root access, and enable it for apps, adb or both.
Q) I don't like superuser icon in statusbar, can I install SuperSU?
A) Yes.
Q) How do I update GApps? (Also useful if you have GApps related problems).
A) Reboot to recovery. Wipe System, Cache and Dalvik Cache. Install ROM + GApps. (Yes, without rebooting). Reboot.
Sounds good! Thanks!
Hi
Is there arrows for network/wifi activity on statusbar ?
volte isn't working
so another unofficial build with incomplete sources? nijel8 has done some pretty good work too but w/o releasing vendor files it's no good for rom developers and now your build with old device tree from official Lineage repos
EDIT: just seen new commits on gerrit... yaaay!
TheStrix are you Parth Bhatia?
Hey @TheStrix, quick question, I still seeing you on the list of maintainer of LineageOS, why creating this unofficial build? is this a build for testing before LOS automatic build? Thanks!

Any plans to support Helium Mi Max in the future?
Great ROM. Just installed its amazing smooth everything working flawless till now. Loving it.
Just one questions....Unable to see menu button in Titanium Backup. Any solutions for this?
Any hope for helium support in future or are we doomed to be stuck with the dreaded MIUI ?
@nijel8 yes and i'd do it but i don't think we need 3rd or 4th separate device tree if this thing gets official builds

Keep in mind that for now this is just an alpha, take it like an early preview. Quite a lot hasn't yet been ported to Lineage, so please don't report issues like: "broken buttons backlight".
I guess we're using the 7.1 version of GApps since there isn't one for 8.0 yet?

I will test instantly
Have anyone tested RIL?
For me, SIM was detected on first boot but then after a restart, it stopped being detected. When it was working, calls/sms worked but not mobile data.
But boy is it smooth. UI much more fluid than Nougat
Excelent work, thank u bgcngm ?
About ROM, there are a few FCs while setup phone, but nothing that u cant handle with. RIL is working, I mean phone and sms, I havent tested mobile data (but at least sys catch proper APN). All other functions in settings work good, except BL which doesnt work, and its icon is blinking all time. Wifi is working good, GPS is also working pretty good, needs few sec to lock; audio is fine, there is no crackling sounds; sensors and audio recording work just fine. Only thing that is missing is camera. If u need anything just let me know. Cheers
I don't remember any FC while setup but SIM was not detected. Once setup was completed there was a message saying system not responding, chose wait .. then SIM get detected.
Maybe an important thing to note for those who may have the same sympton that I had.. after ROM is installed, the system partition was change from 2644mb to 1006mb. To restore your backup or install other ROM (especially Sense ROM) you may need to Resize File System. If not your restoration or ROM installation may fail due to insufficient system space.

If i remember correctly, this was the case since the beginning of cm/los. When you flash cm/los it automatically changes from sense(2gb) to gpe(1gb), but when you wipe system, it's again back to sense. :good:

No, it was in the beginning, but then I fixed it here. The problem right now is that many things are not yet up, so most likely resize2fs_static is missing, and due to that partition is not being resized.
RIL on m8 single SIM may be acting kinda weird because I forgot to patch it the same way I did on 14.1 back when I switched to source-built RIL. And by the way, the "system process not responding" thing is happening on every device.

Fingerprint reader (U-Touch works tho)
Video recording is bugging but half broken working
SELinux=permissive
Maybe more?!

2. Bootloader needs to be unlocked
3. Perform a backup of your current ROM (optionally)
4. Wipe system, data and cache (optionally) [Needed if coming from another rom; always good to avoid bugs]
5. Install LineageOS 15
6. Install GApps (optionally) [Recommended -> Open GApps (arm) (8.0)]
7. Reboot

Yes, now I working about it.
Im early let me make a joke.
Stock TouchWiz
Nice work @Danil_e71
Feels pretty smooth. I just flashed it.
Is it just me or does gapps load forever? I had to quit that loading screen?
Anyway, the only bugs I'm noticing are that the stock recorder doesn't seem to to want to record ( but I'm sure a 3rd party recorder will. I've noticed this on other Oreo ROMs too) and obviously the camera and flash not working. Also, the home button does not wake this device (which, again, is not the first time I've seen on Oreo ROMs). But in general, it's great for a first release, thank you [emoji4]
I also have issues pairing my Bluetooth headphones for music. I'm not sure if calls work as I do not keep a sim in this device

Yeeeeeha way to go danil! As for the camera bug, couldn't you just forward the old los 14.1 camera code? Surely that'd work with a few tweaks.

Are you install GAPPS version for android 8?
Thanks Danil,
I have one problem too, don't know how to uninstall system apps, I installed magisk manager to get root, which works, but under uninstallling apps doesn't do anything, I don't see any errors, but nothing happens.
EDIT: nevermind, the problem is probably with link2sd not remounting system as rw,
Another problem is with change keyboard not working, when keyboard is open there is notification to switch keyboards, but it doesn't do anything.
And you probably noticed, menu button doesn't work in some apps, like chrome, adw launcher.
Anyway great thanks for this rom

KNOWN BUGS
Currently only works with bootloader unlocked
SafetyNet does not pass (Unfortunately, this is not possible as your SoC has hardware attestation... the workaround is to use unsupported mods like Magisk which tbh I haven't tried myself as I don't root my devices, but other users said that plus the SafetyNet Magisk mod works)
Fingerprint icon is too low compared to actual location of the scanner
Heyyo, allow me to introduce myself. I am Marc "ThE_MarD" Bourgoin and I maintain LineageOS and TWRP for the LeEco Le Max 2 (X2) and was crowdfunded a zippo which I will maintain LineageOS for (with selinux enforcing of course) and maybe assist with TWRP later. I also own an Asus Zenfone 5z (Z01R) which I maintain LineageOS for (and plan to maintain TWRP) and I was also donated a Motorola Moto X4 (Payton) which I maintain LineageOS and TWRP for.
I'd like to take this moment to also thank anyone who donated to the crowdfunding campaign for my zippo! Without you? I wouldn't have this epic device in my hands to work on.
Also MAJOR thanks to Zhenxiang Chen (aka pasta_con_tonno, Lucchetto) for all the amazing work he has done on zippo.
Special thanks to Einar Gednochsson (aka kanstmablason, pete80pro) for organizing the crowdfunding campaign for my zippo and also a new one for KuranKaname so he can revamp our kernel.
Thanks also to hypnz, chema f, gawin and Lucky for also working in zippo and to HighwayStar who started the initial trees for heart (Lenovo z5 Pro GT) which zippo trees are based upon and Art_Chen for working on heart and zippo and also bringing us FOD Dimming and DC Dimming.
Thanks again to Zhenxiang and Chema f for figuring out and implementing the QFIL recovery and vbmeta while keeping the bootloader locked
w00t! Initial LineageOS 19.0 release for zippo! lineage-19.0-20220212-UNOFFICIAL-zippo is still selinux permissive and QTI Bluetooth might have bugs but I'm not 100% certain if maybe it's just my AptX headset or BT headsets in general so that needs more testing. Please report any other bugs in this thread.

Heyyo, a new test build is going up! lineage-19.0-20220310-UNOFFICIAL-zippo contains selinux enforcing without any neverallow violations which is super nice! It also has the FM Radio app (tbh haven't had time to test, if someone could please test and report back). Please test all functionality as we are pretty much ready for official LineageOS 19.0 builds once those eventually start coming out.

Heyyo, I've updated the first post for LOS 19.1 and also I've put both heart and zippo on the initial 19.1 devices list once it goes official!

Good to hear that as I about to switch back to LineageOS after more than 6 months on CN ROM.
Let's do it over this weekend
hahaha I couldn't wait and get it done already!
now I am in 19.1! so happy...still trying to play around with it..
@cheensiong, glad you like it! Lots of good team zippo devs effort in this one too. Once LOS 19.1 official drops? You can just manually flash a build and then the Lineage Updater can handle future OTA

one question, when get official, do I need to flash again?
@cheensiong hehe, I think my reply didn't get posted by the time you did yours, you just need to manually flash it once and then the Lineage Updater will allow OTA for future updates
You don't need to wipe, just download, reboot to recovery, flash the official ROM zip and reboot to system
Cool!
Btw, I noticed that I couldn't get Android Auto on it. Fixing it?
Or is my version issue?
@cheensiong tbh I haven't been able to test Android Auto, but that's usually a GApps issue, so maybe it's not ready yet? Which GApps are you trying with atm?

Yes, just checked my downloaded file. it is that version.
After about a week use, so far so good only noticed 2 minor bugs, not sure if you experienced the same.
1. Few times after certain navigation, the last "column" of the home screen (same apply on 2nd and 3rd screen) get BLANK and all icons get PUSH to the LEFT.
reset back with just two clicks of power button, one click to turn off the screen and one click to bring back the screen.
2. Few times noticed that I didnt manage to capture the photos although I clicked on the shutter button.
@cheensiong, is that with the stock trebuchet launcher and AOSP camera app?
