I have 4GB ram but my phone shows 2.2 GB of RAM is in use. Does all these space taken over by Operating System?. I downloaded an app for seeing the actual ram usage. It shows these two 'RAM' and 'ZRAM' I want to know about those two types? I want to get rid of some system apps to free up ram memory. Which Systems Apps is safe to uninstall and to disable? My phone only left 1.4 GB for me. I think I bought a wrong phone?. I'm a New User. I have uploaded the image. Please someone help me!!!

Nothing to worry. Higher ram usage does not indicate lower performance. More than 50% ram may be used even in idle state but if that does not hamper the performance then do not cut system apps.

[Q]how much RAM is free on your mobile? use a app?

I have the gingerdx v21 + alfs 05 and odex and 05, and when I connect the phone to free memory is 75mb, after about 10 minutes is already at 45 (use the booster as a memory task killer) about 2 days to get the memory is connected always 38, 45 mb free at most with you is like that? has some way to improve it?
thankssss !!
windows user detected!
again and again:
RAM is to be used. Free RAM is waste of resources. X8 is not a high-end device, even with swap, compcache your phone is never be a Galaxy, Nexus, etc.
Im using nAa and MiniCM and its great: performance, battery life, with many apps installed and many of them does push and other background stuff.
Sorry, but I want to know on average how much is the memory available
I usually have sth like 60 mbs of free RAM (i use 64 mb swapspace too). But like it was earlier said, Linux is a bit different than Windows when it comes to resource management.
And btw., when I stopped using task killer I think that overall performance (not short-distant, like in case of using task killers) has greatly improved. I recommend you doing the same.

[Q] Horrible Benchmark Score

Stock rom my note 4 scored 25417 in antutu. Thought wtf and tried testing again with the custom Skyfall rom, almost the exact same results.
Is my note 4 messed up? Should I do a device exchange?
Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
Are you letting your phone cool down before benching? Putting it in the freezer? (Real questions) I personally won't return a phone because of low benchmark that means nothing in the real world other than to show off. P.S.my first bench was in the 30ks

No, my phone was sitting idle for a good amount of time though before testing.how could my scores be so drasticly less than yours?

Heres the thing . You shouldnt rely on that benchmark score at all especially on custom ROMs . I have had Roms that performed amazing in everyway and tested poorly on benchmark . There are a lot of factors that decide your score and in some ways scores can be cheated . Others on XDA can explain better than I can but you need to try other ROMS and also try when your phone isnt hot as He$$

Also did you run benchmarks when you are on Stock only ? To compare?
Mines is 46512. Stock Rom, Rooted.
Maybe it's a running app that causing the low score.
Do you notice any lag? Gaming lag?
Mine was low too until I turned off power saving mode

I just tested mine while downloading a file in the background and scored 43K. Maybe you have something going on in the background that's a CPU hog. I'm on Stock but rooted.

Poor benchmark performance after 5.01 dirty flash

Ive just done a dirty flash of the 5.01 update -
Through fastboot I flashed system, boot loader and used the decrypted boot image.
Just run antutu & geekbench 3 and found the final score is pretty naff. Anyone else had similar or know why it might be?

Looked at better battery stats and noticed it was stuck at 1.7ghz. Does the nexus automatically limit the cpu when the battery is low?? I didn't enable battery saving mode

i guaranty that your issue is your own fault. first off, i bet you just left the cpu speed as is(stock) then ran a benchmark test. well, guess what? that is the wrong way to benchmark. what cpu speed did the benchmarks run at? ill tell you, you have no idea. thats because itll vary however it feels like in between the max and minimum cpu speed tested. so, you couldve been testing a run at 1.5ghz instead of the 2.6 you thought you were using.
to run a benchmark properly, you have to set the max cpu and the min cpu to the max speed you want to test. or youll end up testing a lower speed. and if you are running stock, thatll be very hard for you since stock uses mpdecision. mpdecision will change your cpu speeds, even if you set them.

yes, at 20% or lower it reduces cpu speeds and amount of cores used.
My stupidity then. For some reason I didn't think it limited unless manually set to saver mode.

yup. and at the moment, it automatically does this on custom roms as well.

Sometimes lags very hard.

I use my phone more often as I don't have my tablet now and I saw a one thing with new Lollipop upgrade on my S5 Mini G800F. It sometimes lags very hardly quite often. It does not matter what I do (watching videos, browsing or just listening to music). I will explain more: it starts to lag(doesn't accept any buttons pressing while lagging), after couple of seconds it returns to the lockscreen and I need to unlock my phone. After unlocking, everything works fine without lags for some time (until it will not do it again).
After Lollipop update I did a factory reset so I did it 3-4 months ago and I don't think that's the issue. I have plenty of space, couple apps disabled, about 20 apps installed. It did not do this kind of thing when I was on KitKat.

If you have Facebook app installed, try removing it. You can use Lite or web browser.
I didn't install Facebook on my phone since last reset.

Well, I am using latest Lollipop (1.35GB total RAM) and no lags at all, but my phone is a G800H model. No root, just used Debloater to disable unwanted apps.
Actually all(I think) models have same 1.5GB RAM capacity. Only reserved RAM size differs. Look at this screenshot.

Nope, actually the first Lollipop versions from Samsung had only 1GB free RAM due to unusual debugging level setting... That's why most custom ROMs also have this problem, because they use the same source for kernel.

High ram usage?

Hello guys
Just switched to p30 pro 6gb ram/128g
From s9 exynos g960f
Its seems like the emui 9.1 using alot of ram(60%~75%). I used to follow this details with samsung device care. Huwaei dont have a build-in ram usage monitor so im using 3rd one.
In s9 i had a 4gb ram and the usage was like 2.5gb used
Attached a ram usage

I have the 256GB 8GB P30 Pro, this seems to be normal, the device does not close apps though, from what I have seen
this is a good thing. I don't know where it came from that people are obsessed about 1) having a phone with the largest RAM possible 2) using as little of it as possible. Unused RAM is wasted RAM. It is a problem if apps are hogging it with garbage (literally in java), but I want my phone to use as much RAM as possible at all times but be able to do ram management that once I launch demanding app that it will squish the right processes in the background to free up space for the app I am using.
So far I am very happy with p30p, very good battery life, no missed notifications because apps were frozen, I did quite a bit of adb debloating, and it really seems to be only helpful in a visual way that phone is not cluttered with stupid stuff, because already some reviewers said the bloatware does not seem to affect the performance or battery life of the phone, e.g. when I uninstall facebook and bixby and **** from Samsung phone it feels like someone added 4x more cpu cores to the phone, while on p30p it was fast and smooth and no jittering from ootb. This alone makes it worth to me to switch to a phone that I may or may not be able to root and flash in the near future, but I anyway wanted a phone I will keep "clean", without the hassle to always find a solution for google pay and banking apps to work.
